Chapter 6
Fakir looked down at his paper's fill with words that had no meaning to him the more he wrote bigger the risk grows and even bigger the chances of ever harming her, his only hope was that his most recent gamble will prove itself successful. He looked up from the paper and out the window to see Princess Tutu carrying a cloaked person into the court-yard like how she did for him almost a year before, Fakir cringed when the cloaked figure suddenly shoved itself off the graceful ballerina falling to the ground. The sacred dancer tried to help the figure, only for the character to draw its weapon Fakir quickly pulled the blinds over the window unwilling to watch the scene he had created.
"Fakir?" Uzura creak open the door to his room
"Hey Uzura I'm finished you can take the story to Drosselmeyer." Fakir said trying not to break in front of the little girl.
"Fakir where's puppet man zura?" the green haired girl asked
"Allard? Well it's a long story but" he handed her the stack of papers "his in here now." The little girl looked at the papers her eyes wide in shock
"No zura!" she grip the papers tightly "no…" tears falling down her cheeks
"Uzura what's wrong!" Fakir said in shock himself by her reaction
"You did a bad thing zura, a really bad thing." The doll-like girl cried
Ahiru woke up hugging her duck pillow, her eyes puffy from tears her mind a race with questions and worry. She looked down at her suitcase by the door, filled with clothes and things she'll need for the trip to Silver Staff in just a few hours Ahiru no longer wanted to go on this trip, if she stayed in Gold Crown she would have chances to run in to Fakir and tell what's going on than he could fix it, it would be easier than going miles away to a town she had never been where before. A pain formed in her stomach at the thought of Fakir, the nightmares she had when this whole thing began and every night since had made it harder and harder to think straight, as if her mind was somewhere else trying to think of or remember something. Ahiru than forced herself out of bed and made herself get ready for the trip "I've just got stay positive." Ahiru thought "long as I don't give in to gloom I'll be fine" a sudden rush of joy fill her mind. She then quickly grasped her suitcase and rush out her room "Story or no story, Tutu or not. Those things don't matter I'm just going to concentrate on the time I have to be a normal girl." Her joyful self fully returning "because that's what I wished for." The moment she stepped out all those happy thoughts diapered as she saw fakir outside his dorm for the first time since she became human again.
"Fakir!" She rushed over to him.
"Ahiru?" Fakir questioned.
"Fakir look me I'm human" Ahiru smiled spinning around.
"Weren't you always" Fakir lied showing no emotion.
"What?" Ahiru said shocked.
"Listen Ahiru, I'm busy I'll talk to you what I'm done." Fakir said trying move away from her.
"That's what you told Allard!" Ahiru griped his arm "Fakir please." For a moment they lock eye's each other feeling the other fear and anxiety.
"Let go of me." He shook her off causing Ahiru to trip fall "I do not want to talk to you!" Fakir became serious as he walked away.
"Fakir?" Ahiru whimpered as she watched the only one who could understand the trouble she was in talk away.
"Ahiru what happen?" Corvin's gentle voice shoot shiver up her spine
"Um ah uh?" she tried to say anything but, failing.
"Here let me help." Corvin held out his hand Ahiru hesitated for a moment before taking it his hand and helping her on her feet "you dropped this" Corvin handing a Ahiru her, her suitcase
"Thank you" she said quietly taking it
"Who was that, the one who knocked you down right there?" Corvin asked
" a friend, well I thought he was." Ahiru said
"Well some friend." Corvin said worried
"No." Ahiru said "it's like he forgot a large chapter of are life" she began suddenly Corvin hugged her
"No one should have to forget you" his said letting Ahiru break away from
"Is he really the same prince from last night?" Ahiru thought "he acts like he wouldn't hurt anyone let alone Mytho."
"We better to Mr. Cat so we can get on the bus." Corvin said walking to the street
"Uh okay." She said following him when they reach the street she could other students climbing in to large buses
"You two!" a voice shouted
"Mr. Cat?" Corvin said
"You are late!" Mr. Cat said sternly "I was worried that we're going to leave you behind" he quickly took their bags "go." They quickly ran to the bus Ahiru finding a set behind Pike and Lille
"Why didn't you guy wake me up?" Ahiru asked
"We did you didn't wake up." Pike said
"Sorry." Ahiru said she looked around and Yara looking depressed "what's wrong with her?
"Mr. Cat wouldn't let her take that big metal box she carry's around" Lille said happily just then the bus lurked forward the as a grinding sound filled the bus as it drove, out to the main street tough one of the gates. Ahiru put her head out of bus staring at the massive gate groaned and slowly opened reveling the green fields and forests in the distant the crystal blue lake she spent the past year as duck at.
"Wow!" she said as she was pulled back in to the bus
"It not safe to stick your head out the window." Pike said as Ahiru sat down. Ahiru eyes still focus on the green fields and the horse and carriages that the bus slowly passed by the bus.
"Look Ahiru the lake!" Lille said pointing out the window as the bus passed by the lake a few fisher men setting by the dock "where's your house Ahiru?"
"Um it's by the lake." Ahiru said looking for around the edge of the water "I don't see it."
"To bad." Pike said.
"Maybe will see it on the way back." Lillie said cheerfully.
"Ya maybe." Ahiru said a familiar uneasy felling forming in her stomach. After a while the talking died down many of the student fell asleep and the others stared out the window dazed. Ahiru slowly drifted off her dreams taking hold as she in her dream she could notice fingers dancing and multicolored feather floating down as disembodied voices cheered. Suddenly a loud churning sound startling her awake. "Whoa! What's going on?" She said looking at a Pike and Lille who were standing up with other class members on the bus. "Are we at Silver Staff?"
"No…" Pike sighed watching the driver turn the key to start the bus, Mr. Cat grumpily look over the drivers shoulder flicking his tail back and forth.
"Ehm!" Mr. Cat stood up and face the students "there aperies to be a problem with the bus please exit in a clam orderly fas-"before he could finish the students rush out of the bus and on to the dirt street. "Um good work? Now just stay a safe distance from the bus while the driver and I try to fix it." As he turned back to the driver
"Now that do we do." Ahiru asked
"Wait! Or is that so hard for a dumb spaz like you." James snapped
"That was rued James, you shouldn't speak to her that way." Corvin protest
"And you shouldn't speak to me that way!" James said switching targets "you shouldn't even exist." Raising his voice caching the attention of the students around them
"I know" Corvin whispered "but, whose fault is that?" looking James in the eye before walking away from the growing group. James glared at feeling boy before leaving himself.
"What's going on here!" sternly walked over to the group.
"It was James and Corvin aging." A student said
"Aging uh?" Mr. Cat sighed crossing his arms "if they keep this up I'll have to do something those two." Looking down the dirt path he saw the other buses coming up the road, the lead bus stopping casing the others two screech a halt. "Thank goodness" as Mrs. Cat stepped out of the lead bus
"What happened is every one all right." rushed over to her husband
"We are fine, we've just hit a delay."Mr. Cat answered "purrhaps we all could just cram it to the remaining buses."
"That's no good." His wife shook her head "all the buses are already full; also it would be safe to leave this bus here."
"Well maybe if-"Mr. Cat stopped his ear twitching
"Hello there!" an elderly man shouted across the grassy field that lined the road
"Good after noon!" Mr. Cat greeted him
"You folks get yourself in some trouble?" the man asked
"Yes, are mode of transport has been damaged." Mr. Cat answered
"Never did trust those new contraptions." The old man glared at the broken bus stoking his gray beard "but my nephew on the other hand loves tinkering with them, he may be able to fix it."
"I'm willing to try anything to get on the road." Mr. Cat said "how soon can he get here?"
"Soon "the old man answered "his is working in the annual harvest fair just up the road."
"Hey!" Pike said "while his nephew fixes the bus, why don't we all go and enjoy the fair." The class agreeing with her
"Sure would bet standing around here." Yara mumbled
"I see no harm in it." Mrs. Cat "I'll go ahead and send the other buses over." Walking back to the buses
"Ok then." Mr. Cat said "single file students we'll fallow this kind man please stay with your class mate." Then the group head up the road to the fairgrounds where the rest of the students in the remaining buses where happily running about "we'll meet here when the buses is fixed until then do not leave the grounds."
