A cute one shot where Finnick survived and learns Annie is pregnant with there second child.

He wasn't there the first time. Annie was told Finnick was dead and that is what people thought. The mutt attack and the explosion made all the sense to believe he was dead. However, he somehow survived and was rescued by others who were hiding in the sewers. Finnick was taken to a refugee camp outside the city limits of the Capitol and these people were for the rebellion. They wanted President Snow to be taken down. Not everyone in the Capitol was treated nicely. They didn't realize it was Finnick Odair until he awoke in pain. He was burned badly on most of his body. He has scars all over his body from the burns. The most prominent one is on his face. It caused him to lose his right eye. He was fitted for a glass eye but he still can't see.

Blinded in one eye and no longer the pretty boy he was once before. He has mixed feels about it people won't just like him for his looks, but he looks unappealing. He was treated in the Capitol and they wouldn't let him go until he was almost fully recovered. He tried to get in contact with Annie but things were still a mess from the fighting. Annie had disconnected her phone for a while anyways. She didn't want to get a phone call to help with something political. She also didn't want them to know she was pregnant. She wanted to keep it a secret because she feared if the rebellion somehow failed something terrible would happen to her child.

She stayed in District 4. Her Mother was still alive and Mrs. Everdeen looked after her to make sure everyone was healthy. When she had the baby all she could see was Finnick in him so she thought the only suitable name would be his. Finnick was able to leave the Capitol when his son was almost a month old.

When he came back Annie thought she was going crazy by seeing him. She saw him for awhile but he went away with time. She never imagined him with scars on his face and arms. She knew it was him but couldn't believe it.

When Annie's mother said she could see him too she believed her. Finnick told her what happened to him and why she was told he was dead.

She still can't believe it sometimes.

"Mommy!" her four year old son shouts as he comes inside.

She kneels and hugs him when he reaches her. She picks him up and kisses his cheek causing him to laugh.

"Hi sweetie." She says and kisses him again. "Where's Daddy?"

He points to the open front door.

"Daddy's out there." He says and she nods.

She knew that much because they went to the beach together. Annie stayed home because she didn't feel well. She's been feeling sightly sick the past few weeks making Finnick nervous to no end. To get him to stop worrying she went to see Mrs. Everdeen and was surprised to hear that she was pregnant.

"What did you and Daddy do on the beach." Annie asks him

"Sandcastle." He says and giggles.

"Was it a big one."

He nods enthusiastic.

Finnick walks in and kisses Annie on the cheek and the top of their son's head.

"Hi." Finnick says

"Mommy I'm hungry." Their son complains.

"That's why we came home." Finnick say with a smile. Annie knows from this that he must have been saying this for awhile.

Annie smiles and sets him down at the kitchen table.

She cuts him some apples.

"Did you have fun making sandcastles?" Annie asks Finnick with a smile.

"Of course but he wanted Mommy there."

"Mommy could be been there if you weren't so worried."

"I have a right to be worried did you see Mrs. Everdeen?" He asks and she nods

"Yes." She says and walks the apples over to their son. "Here you go sweetie." She says and puts the plate down.

"Now what do we say." Finnick says as their son reaches for an apple.

"Thank you Mommy." He says and smiles.

"That's right." Finnick says.

He turns back to Annie.

"So are you okay" Finnick asks.

She nods.

"Yeah, but I need to tell you something when it's nap time."

Finnick looks at her strangely.

She kisses his cheek. The one with the scars, she wants Finnick to know that she still finds him attractive no matter how many scars he has on his body.

"Don't worry, I'm fine." She says

With the playing in the sun it doesn't take long for their son to get tired.

"It's nap time buddy." Finnick says.

"No Daddy." He says as Finnick picks him up. He isn't fighting very hard and is half asleep by the time he is upstairs.

"So what did you want to tell me?" He asks.

She smiles and puts her hands on his shoulders.

"I'm pregnant." She says.

"What?" He says making sure he heard her correctly.

"I'm pregnant. I-"

Finnick kisses her and picks her and spins her around once.

"Are you sure." He says.

Annie nods.

"They took a blood test and then checked with the machine and I could hear their heartbeat." Annie says.

Finnick hugs her again and puts his hand on her stomach.

"I never thought-" Finnick starts.

"I know." She says.

Truth is she wanted to have another baby. She wanted Finnick to experience everything with her and she knows he wanted that too. She also wanted her son to grow up with siblings but it never happened. They never really looked into why. Finnick was just grateful he had Annie and a son.

He kisses her. He kneels and kisses her stomach.

"I'll be here for you this time. I get to see everything."

Annie smiles.

"Yes you do." She can see the tears well in his good eye but know they won't fall.

This is the happiest she has seen Finnick since he came home. Yes he is happy with his life and grateful to be alive but she hasn't seen pure joy like this since their wedding day.

"I love you Annie." He says and puts his hand on her stomach.

"I love you two." She says with a smile.
