Bella sat on the bed as she watched the strong captain, sit in his chair and scowl. She wanted to say something to him but had no words. Jacob had been cruel and heavy handed with her, throwing her about the room like a rag doll. She was strong, but not as physically strong as a navy captain.
"Why weren't you going to tell me?" Edward demanded, Bella swallowed at the dangerous tone of voice. She pulled her knees up to her chin and wrapped her arms around them. She didn't look at him.
"Because it makes me spoiled, I didn't want you to know. I didn't want to just get you back and then you to discard me" She murmured quietly. Edward had been watching her intently. What she said had never crossed his mind, he immediately stood and walked to her. he sat next to her and wrapped his arms around her, she placed her head on his chest lightly.
"I would never send you away love" he whispered. "I've just got you back" he stroked her long hair.
"But you are angry" she whispered, he heard her sniff back her tears. He pulled her back and wiped them away.
"Yes" he paused as she closed her eyes in despair. "I am, but not with you Bella. I am furious that I was not there for you. I am angry that another man has touched you, I am mad as fuck that he touched you without your consent, I am angry that this disgusting thing has happened to you. I only want to protect you from here, I want to hunt him down and I want to kill him, I want to steal all his shit" Edward said, Bella smiled at his rant and pecked his lips softly.
"Thank you, Edward" she whispered.
"For what?" he asked. She leaned into his chest again.
"For being angry with me" she grinned and stood to change. He watched her, she grinned at him as he watched her flesh disappear in disappointment. "Not yet, but soon. I feel like I need to get to know you again. The past three years have been tough on both of us we have new likes and dislikes" Bella said as she stood in front of him and placed her hands on his shoulders.
"Whatever you want to do love" he smiled. He also changed and they headed up to deck. They parted at the door, and Bella swung to her new nest. Edward smiled up at her as she closed her eyes and felt the wind in her hair.
"Where to captain?" Jasper asked.
"Jacob" Edward growled, Jasper nodded and spun the wheel. Carlisle stood behind his son in his captain wear, without the mask. They sailed for half a day, by this time the sun was high in the sky when Bella called.
"Ship ho" Edward looked up and she pointed east, turning he looked in that direction. Pulling out his scope he looked through the glass. The ship was American navy. Grinning evilly, Jasper changed direction for interception, when they got close enough Edward let the cannons loose. One hit the ship direct. The pirates all sung onto the slightly smaller war ship, the fight lasted maybe 10 minutes, Bella had captured two men who had recognised her as Jacob's 'fiancé'.
"Captain" she purred as she pushed the men at his feet. "These men are colleagues of black" he pulled her next to him, he wrapped his arm around her waist while she placed a hand on his shoulder.
"You men know where Jacob black is?" Edward asked as he raised his sword to one's throat.
"Like we would talk to a pirate" one spat.
"Then don't talk to him, talk to me" Bella said, she looked down at the man. "After all black wants me back, right?" she asked. Edward tried not to bristle at her words.
"You're with him" The man said confused.
"Yes, I am, but I should really tell black that I will not marry him in person, don't you think?" She asked sweetly, the man stuttered.
"I will tell you nothing" he looked away, Bella sighed and crouched in front of the man.
"How well do you really know captain black? Do you know how he treats women? Do you really wish to know why I ran away? Or are you not talking because we are pirates?" she asked, the man was listening to her.
"What did he do to you?" the man asked, she leaned in close and whispered in his ear. The man gasped and looked shocked. "But you are a noblewoman!" he growled outraged.
"Many noblewomen experience the same with sailors" Bella murmured. "The monster's heart is as black as his name" Bella whispered.
"He sailed out six months ago, I was on his crew but I didn't like some of the stuff he did. He kept food back and did not pay us what he promised. He kept ship whores, he killed the ships doctor, so I left. He is searching for you. Your father is with him" the man said. "they bought two prisoners with them, a woman with caramel hair, and the other I believe was your mother"
"damn, she gets extremely sea sick" Bella said, and continued to listen as she stepped back next to Edward, he wrapped his arm around her again. "The woman with caramel hair? Is her name Esme?" she asked. The man paused, then nodded.
"I believe so, I have told you everything I know. Please let me join you, I am a hard worker, I only ask to be fed" The man begged, the captain nodded.
"What is your name sailor?" Edward asked.
"Benjamin" Edward looked to the man next to him.
"Do you know where black was headed?" Edward demanded.
"back to where he found the woman, he wants intel on you" Edward nodded.
"Are you staying or are you going to be trouble? If you choose trouble I will just kill you now" Edward smiled at the man. The man thought it through.
"You have women on this ship?" he asked, he looked toward Bella.
"All accounted for and not to be touched" Edward snarled. The man recoiled.
"I'll probably be trouble" Edward nodded and with a flick of his wrist had the man's throat slit.
"Emmet get the man overboard before he bleeds everywhere" Edward ordered. "loot and find as much food as you can then burn the ship, Jasper get this man a bed and some chores" the men all quickly jumped into action. Bella turned to her captain and placed a hand on his chest.
"You know, this ship is looking a little rugged. Maybe it's time for a new layer of paint" she grinned at him, he pinched her hip.
"I think it's time we find our mothers" he nuzzled her neck. The couple went to find his father to tell him their intel. Carlisle nodded, they went to the captain's cabin and poured over the maps while Bella took her post again. Just as it started to get dark, her shift change was there to relieve her and she swung down to the deck. She landed next to Edward, he held his hand out to her. "Lets get some dinner" she grinned and they went below deck to the mess hall. When they entered the hot room, Rose was shouting at her help as they ran around, Rose grinned as they walked to her.
"Ed mate, this new food is some deluxe shit. Who did we rob again?" she asked.
"The enemy" Edward said, Bella watched as that information just made Rose more happy.
"Perfect" she grinned, she served them some food. Bella and Edward chose a small table and started to eat. They were getting to know each other again, just as Emmet, Jasper and Alice sat with them. Edward sighed with annoyance. Bella smiled knowingly at him and tried not to laugh. The five of them were chatting and laughing. Bella started to get sleepy and kicked Edward under the table, he glared at her.
"Don't glare at me, I wanna go to bed" she smiled sweetly. He chuckled but rubbed his shin. She rolled her eyes at Alice. "Men" she sniggered.
"Such babies" Alice agreed. The couple stood, Rose came and picked up their dishes and ushered them away until they were headed to Edward's cabin. Bella quickly brushed her hair and changed then slid into their bed. Edward chuckled at her dreamy smile. He pulled his shirt off, changed his trouser into bed wear then slid in behind her. she sighed as he pulled her into his arms.
"I feel happier than I have in years, but I feel bad knowing our mothers are probably going through hell" she smiled sadly then placed her face in his neck.
"If I know anything about your mother I know she is giving everyone on that ship hell" Edward laughed and rubbed her back. Bella kissed his neck, remembering he used to like that. She felt him shiver and she smiled.
"You still like that?" she asked. He looked down at her.
"you remembered?" he asked, she pulled his face down for a kiss.
"I remember everything about you" she whispered in his ear. They continued to kiss, and Bella was getting a bit hot Edward stopped her.
"Come on, try to get some sleep we will be hunting a monster tomorrow" she searched his eyes.
"I don't want to see that man again and him to be the last man to have touched me" she murmured. "It feels like he won" she said as she kissed him.
"Are you sure?" he asked hesitant to touch her. she pulled his shirt off that she was wearing.
"Let's rock the boat" she grinned.
The next morning Edward walked to the ships wheel with a smile on his face, Jasper clapped him on the back.
"All quiet captain" Edward nodded.
"It's never been this quiet before. Too easy. Something is coming"
