One more mission

Kara has already shown her identity to everyone worldwide. Since then she has been offworld for a world saving mission. Years have passed since she was last home. People have passed since she was last home. What will she do once back? Will anyone care she is? Can she save the ones who need her most? Read on to find out.

1. Chapter-1

-Chapter-1-

-Kara Pov-

"Thanks for the help back J'onn" I take a deep breath and start walking away "Time to go see...J'onn what year is it?"

"I am not sure" He comes out of the room he was in and stops beside me "Huh"

We look around and see that nothing is the same here. The DEO has changed all around completely. I immediately rush to the Head Office to find Alex. I am let down when it is some tan lady.

"S-Supergirl?" She puts her phone down and looks at me in shock "You are back! What was I supposed to do when you did come back...OH YEAH!"

She hits a button by her and the room locks down. I narrow my eyes and she puts her hands up. We are locked in for a few minutes and I do try to escape. The lockdown material is full of lead.

I am relieved when the lockdown raises finally. I smile when I see it is my sister walking in. We embrace in a hug and the lady leaves us alone. Alex and I sit down in some chairs and face each other.

"I ran into J'onn on the way in and he told me to tell you it is twenty-twenty five" I was gone for four years "I am no longer the head of the DEO but I am the President of the United States!"

"Congratulations!" She smiles proudly and so do I "How is Kelly? My niece Esme?"

"Kelly is doing good, Esme is loving the attention, and Liz is still too young to know anything" I tilt my head confused at the last part "Lena helped come up with a way for Kelly to conceive a baby with our genetics"

"So you have a baby?" She nods and I hug her again with a squeal of joy "DEAR RAO! That is the best news ever! I am sure mom is happy to have a namesake grandkid!"

"Yeah" I see the emotions change on her face and the tension in the room grow quickly "Kara...mom died last year in an accident"

My heart shatters into pieces "No" I shake my head and stand up before pacing "No she can not be dead! Th-this is some sick joke! Like when you pretended my world was still ok! TELL ME IT IS THE SAME!"

"I am so sorry" I stop pacing as Alex comes over and embraces me "We tried to contact you but nothing went through"

"What happened?" I pull back some to face Alex "How did she pass? Did the criminal get put away?"

"He was proved not guilty" I feel my body go numb "Kara?"

"Do we know who it was?" Alex narrows her eyes "He deserves punishment and I can break the rules this once"

"He is already dead and Brainy was away for that" I am surprised by that news "Nia is still upset about it and he was not remorseful"

"Was?" She nods and I feel my heart break more "He was put to death?"

"Sent back to the future to stand trial and stay" We go back to the chairs and sit "Look Kara I have to go back to Washington but I would love you to come...come once you have completed one more mission for me"

"Mission?" She nods and I see the look in her eyes "What is it?"

"Lena has slowly stopped going out and responding to everyone the past two years" Alex stands up and holds out a key "Go to her and get her to come stay with us too"

I stand up and take the key "Wait are you not worried about losing reelection?" She smirks and I am confused "What?"

"Last year the people had a vote and I am allowed to stay as long as wanted or needed" Alex turns and walks to the door "Now go complete your mission!"

I look at the key and then the open door. I know exactly where Lena is. She goes to the same place every time. It is a place only we know of. I take off out the window after signing a picture of me in the office.

I land at the spot and put in the code. I am met with shots bouncing off of me. I move when I see a green glow follow them. I look up as footsteps follow and a lady comes out with a multi-barrel gun.

"WHO ARE YOU?!" I look into the familiar yet strange eyes "ANSWER ME!"

"I am Kara Danvers aka Supergirl!" I stand up and put my hands up "I have been off-world for four years and just returned!"

"NO SHE IS GONE!" She points the gun to my head "HOW DO YOU KNOW OF THIS PLACE?"

"Wait" I look over her and it finally clicks "Oh my Rao...Lena?"

"Tell me something the real Kara would know" She cocks the gun and I can see she is being dead serious right now "Now"

"Your mom died, you were sent to your aunt, and you are witch like your mom" I see her trigger finger twitch "You also messed up Nia's walking once on accident because you were struggling to understand spells and potions!"

"Kara?" I nod and she drops the gun "Oh god you are alive!"

"What happened to you?" I look all over her again "You are skin and bones, your hair is not cut or taken care of, and when was the last time you took a shower?"

"I-I think it was two...three...what is the date?" I pick her up and speed to her bathroom "Whoa! what are you doing?"

"Taking care of you" I point to the tub "Now get stripped down, get in with some bath bombs, and clean while I make you food!"

She goes to speak but I narrow my eyes. She sighs and I leave as she starts changing. She knows I will check on her from time to time. I walk to the living room just stop to see J'onn, Kelly, Alex, and Sam standing there with smiles.

"You all knew she was in there" They nod and I look at Alex "What is happening?"

"The lean in Kara" I look away from her and they laugh "Your mission is to take care of her and yourself understand? Washington will be waiting for you"

I nod and walk over to hug the two other ladies. They chat with me while food is made for Lena. She is going to have to pace herself but I will get her back to normal. I will get the girl I am still in love with back to herself.

I owe her that much since I broke her this much.
