"Hey, babe I'm home," Alex says in more of a tired yawn than a true exclamation of her arrival. Not that she really needed to say anything considering how loudly Gracie was whimpering in joy at the very sight of her as Alex clumsily toes off her boots by the door. Not that Alex guessed Maggie had heard her anyways given the sounds of the shower running in the other room as the tired agent dropped onto the sofa.

Gracie immediately makes her attempt to jump up to join her then has to settle for wresting one of Alex's socks off instead when she finds she was still a tad too short to make the jump without some kind of help.

"Gracie, I thought we agreed you'd come to get me when Mama came home," Alex hears her girlfriend hum in a playful scolding as the woman herself fights against the heavy feeling of her own eyelids in her ever-raging battle against sleep.

"Hey, you." Alex slurs in greeting when Maggie leans over the side of the sofa to drop a warmed kiss against her forehead.

"Hey yourself Danvers," Maggie answers with a warmed smile when she sees the couple's shared dog now having a one-sided mini-fight with her lover's stolen sock.

"Finally caught the guy." Alex smiled that ended with yet another tired yawn.

"Another day without you and Grace and I would have stormed the place to take you back." Maggie answers hitching her towel a little higher to protect what she could of the sofa from her shower-dampened skin.

"Missed you both too." Alex hummed rocking over to rest her head against the shorter woman's shoulder. "My girls." She sighed as Maggie lifted a pouting Gracie onto the sofa with them. The pup immediately circled around to lay across Alex's lap with a pleased sigh with Alex herself scooting down to allow for her head to pillow against the offering of Maggie's lap. Maggie's fingers already carding so caressingly soft through Alex's hair, Alex herself has a whole new battle against the pull of sleep.

"Stop fighting it Danvers, you have to rest." Maggie whispered her fingers still playing so easily with the taller woman's hair as she spoke. "We're not going anywhere." She promised the same time Gracie lets out a yawn of her own and starches even more over the newly returned Alex's legs making herself all the more comfortable.

"Hey, you."

Maggie pauses in the act of running a hand of frustration thought her freshly washed hair at the much clearer greeting a few hours later. "Hey, you." She echoes pushing gratefully away from the kitchen table and the mess of a case she'd been puzzling over resting on top of it as Alex dips her head back over the arm of the sofa she'd been using as a pillow since Maggie had squirmed out of her hold earlier in her longer than an intended nap.

"How long was I out?" Alex asks reaching over to scratch slowly through Gracie's scruff since the pup had scooted over to snuggle reassuring along the crook of Alex's arm as they'd slept. Much more challenging for her human to leave her again.

"real person time or our schedule allowances time?" Maggie answers not entirely teasing considering the more than hectic schedules the couple had found themselves working the last few weeks.

"Real person time." Alex chooses still watching her in that upside-down posing as Maggie crosses the short distance into the kitchen to reheat some takeout for her now-awake lover.

"Oh, then not long at all." Maggie waves off tugging open the refrigerator as she spoke "a few hours tops at the most." She simplifies finding an acceptable container of fried rice from the night before and spooning some into a bowl to slide into the microwave for a few seconds.

"You spoil me, Sawyer."

"You deserve to be spoiled from time-to-time babe." Maggie reminds with a smile a little envious of the giggle Alex gives when Gracie decides now is a good time to attack her second favored human's face with kisses and loving nuzzles as the two humans talk between themselves.

"Gracie girl let mama up, she needs her dinner." Maggie sighs as soon as the microwave pings in warning ending of the allotted time. She earns twin pouts in answer to the reminder. "Unless you don't want this yummy fried rice with extra chick…." Maggie expands when Alex's pouting expression never wavers.

"Don't tease me, Sawyer."

Maggie fights back a groan at the sultry edge of Alex's chosen comeback. What with their respective crazy schedules they hadn't had a true night of anything besides maybe a shared meal and a few hours of literal sleep together in almost a month since decided to restart their relationship a while before then.

"I would never, Danvers."

Gracie ever the clever puppy she was already at least pretending a yawn as she drags one of the few toys already lifted onto the couch to the sofa's other end leaving Alex free to finally get up from the couch altogether as her eyes remained trained on Maggie's darkening ones.

"You know what seeing you in that shirt does to me." Alex clarified

Maggie follows her gaze down to the orange tee shirt she'd absently pulled on after dropping her towel and pawing through the dresser for some clean clothes before starting in on finding some new lead in her newest case

Hello Sunshine

The warmed food bowl was quickly abandoned on the floor beside Gracie's normal food and water bowls. Alex helpfully set an eager Gracie on the ground before obediently following her coaxing girlfriend towards the shared bedroom.

"Nope, I'm keeping this on, Danvers. You're the one that strips tonight." Maggie clarifies before the door was kicked shut. Not closed but shut since both knew how snuggly their pet was during the night.

"Anything for you sunshine." Alex agrees already pulling the grinning Maggie in for another heated kiss.
