~ Merry Yuletide Velvet ~

Velvet woke up as she usually did and made her way through the room before going to the window. Opening the blinds a little to let the light into the room so she did not have to turn the lights on, she stared out window.

"Snow…" She chuckled quietly. "Its snowing!" She turned to Yatsu who was just getting up.

"You ever seen snow Velv?" He asked.

"Sure, once before but not as much as this." She chuckled softly. Coco walked out the bathroom wearing nothing but a towel around her waist.

"Coco! Towel! Boys around!" Velvet covered her eyes and Coco just laughed softly.

"Velvet, we've all been working out and we've even been in a sauna all together…" Coco shrugged and smiled back at her.

"Yes, but we were laid down and had a cover across our… erm… things…" She motioned to her own chest.

"Alright, I'll put a towel around myself." She picked up a side towel and wrapped it along her shoulder and barely hiding herself. "If you want to go out, we can all go out together and go Yule shopping?"

"Sure, as long as you guys don't see your present I get ya!" Fox laughed as he finished cleaning his weapon.

"We're… going to buy presents?" Velvet asked quietly.

"Sure. You never gone Yule shopping?" Yatsu questioned.

"I… erm… never had the chance to…go shopping with anyone before." Explained Velvet.

"Then we'll all go out and buy one present each, we'll pick a person, we'll put our names in a hat and we'll give that one person the best present we can think of." Coco suggested and pulled out a notebook and tore out a piece of paper. Splitting it into four pieces, she wrote the names of the squad down.

Taking off her hat, she ruffled the names and then held it out.

Yatsu reached in first and took a piece of paper, stepping back and checking it, he smiled and put it away in his pocket. Fox took one next and grinned. Velvet reached in and took the page before watching Coco take hers.

Coco did not express any facial emotion and tucked it into her pocket.

Velvet looked at her own and her eyes widened before she put it away. What the hell could she get? It was going to be the hardest job ever…

Coco…

She spent all day trying to decide what to get her. She cracked open her savings and looked into the fund what she had saved. It wasn't much but she could get something.

Coco was into fancy and nice things and Velvet was worried that she couldn't get something she deserved.

When it cam time to go shopping, Velvet had her purse in her camera box and kept her eyes open. The party went around all the stores in town and then at the end of the day they stopped at a coffee shop.

"Alright guys! You have an hour! We explored and saw everything and now we will go get our presents. Meet back here in an hour! Last one buys the coffee for the group." Coco grinned and turned to head her own direction.

Yatsu nodded to the trio and headed his way. Fox waved at Velvet and turned his way. Velvet stood still and looked around, she had no idea where to go or what to get. It was going to be one hell of an hour.

Wandering around, she had some idea's but they had been too expensive.

She finally found something she thought Coco would like. She was nervous what Coco would think.

Velvet was the last to the cafe and was very late. It turns out that she had been an hour and a half rather than the agreed hour. Coco laughed softly as they all sat with coffee cups in front of them.

"Don't worry Vel, we've already got Coffee." Fox raised his cup and motioned for the barista for another cup. Sitting down with the three, Velvet sipped the drink slowly.

"Alright gang, we all got presents right?" Coco held up her bag.

"Yep, got mine." Fox picked up his bag and Yatsu picked up his too.

"Mine."

Velvet slowly raised her own bag. "Mine." She whispered.

"Alright then, we'll head home, I picked up some wrapping paper so we can individually wrap our presents. Then we can give them on Yule."

"Alright!" The gang grinned.

The day quickly came and it was Yuletide.

Velvet was excited but also nervous. She did not want to disappoint Coco with her gift.

There was a grand feast down in the dinning hall but first Coco wanted to share presents.

Yatsu went first, as he liked to lead. He handed his box over to Fox. Inside was a set of wearable weights. Fox grinned and punched his shoulder. "Thanks dude. I've been wanting to get some more weights for my work out routine. Here's yours dude."

Fox picked up his box and handed it over to Yatsu. Inside was a plant but not any plant. A Bonsai tree. Grinning, Yatsu nodded to him with a wide grin.

"Thank you Fox, I have been looking at getting a Bonsai, I missed the one at my old home." He nodded and high five'd his friend.

"Your turn Velvet…" Yatsu looked to the girl and leaned back with his bonsai in his lap.

Velvet bit her lip and turned to grab her present. She placed it slowly in front of her and pushed it to Coco. "I… I got that for you." She whispered softly.

Coco grinned and leaned forward, opening the present, she grinned wide and lifted it out.

"Wow… this is… this is great!" Coco grinned and removed the beret from her head and placed the brand new one on her head. The brown beret fit straight to her head perfectly, she had been eyeing this beret for some time.

"This is perfect Velvet. Thank you." Coco grinned at her embarrassed teammate. "And for you…" She leaned forward and pushed a box in front of Velvet.

Slowly Velvet leaned forward and opened the box. Inside was a series of glass sphere's and circles. The boys stared confused until Velvet's eyes widened and she raised them up.

"Coco! These… these are…" Velvet gasped.

"Yes, lenses. I saw you eyeing them up a few weeks ago and knew you needed some more to replace in your holographic Hard-Light emitter." She grinned at the girl.

"Thank you so much!" Velvet jumped up and hugged her team leader, being careful not to crack or damage the lenses.

"Alright alright…" Coco patted her back and grinned. "Now let's go get ready for the feast. Put that nice dress on and we'll go down in style as the best dressed team in the school." Coco ordered and stood up once Velvet had removed herself from her neck.

The boys quickly changed, Yatsu watered his Bonsai and then left with Fox.

"Velvet! I need to give you something." Coco spoke softly, adjusting the new brown beret on her head.

"What is it Coco?" Velvet asked as she turned to face the girl, fitting the pin into the broach of her robe.

She did not expect the lips touching her own, she did not expect Coco leaning in to kiss her. She did not expect to be kissed once more.

Her eyes opened, unaware that they had closed, she looked at Coco with a flushed smile. "Coco…" She managed to breath out of her tight chest.

"Merry Yuletide Velvet." Coco winked and placed something on top of her head, between her ears before turning to leave.

Velvet reached up and lifted whatever it was.

She stared at the plant before realising what it was. Mistletoe. Had she kissed her because of it, it was a tradition she knew of but there had been none hanging above her? Had she held it above her as they kissed.

Running a finger over her lip, Velvet stared at the door and tried to compose herself before rushing out to meet with the boys.
