What am I leaving When I'm done here?
He had almost died. He would have been killed if not for the Miko.
"Sesshomaru?"
They had not spoken in an hour. He calmed, and she peeled herself off the cave wall. He was now sitting with newfound energy.
"Are you ok?" She asked softly,
Sesshomaru looked at her "We must return to the West"
Kagome rose an eyebrow "You're still healing"
He looked away "I have been gone too long Miko and I am not weak" He slowly started to stand. His clothes were bloody and torn and he needed a freaking bath.
"You may come, or you may stay, but I am leaving this place."
Kagome stood "Whats in the West?"
He looked at her "My fathers home" The he started to walk, slowly. Kagome grabbed what all she could and followed after "There really isn't a rush Sesshomaru"
"You are human with limited time and yet you tell me not to rush"
"I am an immortal human remember"
He stopped "That does not mean our time is not limited, Miko."
Kagome could recall at one time him saying the opposite, that he would not die so easy. She decided not to press her luck by reminding him.
"What happened to you Sesshomaru?"
He began to walk away "That Miko, is none of your business"
"You could tell me you know"
"I could, but I am not, now come"
"Do you need something from your home?"
"It is my birthright."
"How long has it been since you been there."
"Do you always speak this much human?"
"Hey" She snapped placing her hand on hips "Don't take out you're, whatever is going on with you, out on me!"
"My head still hurts Miko" He wasn't about to say sorry.
She calmed and carried on, and while he was slower they managed to make it to his domain by nightfall, and they made it without playing twenty-one questions.
But as they came over the mountain, and the wind blew he stopped.
"Wow" She whispered,
"Indeed"
It was as he recalled. Snow was on the ground now and it still needed some rebuilding but it was his father home, his home. Sesshomaru looked down at his hands again then back up. His father left many things when he died. His home, his swords, his sons, his power. Still, till this day, he was known as the most honorable, strongest, most feared demon around.
His father was even in her history myth books, but he wounded where was he?
What did he have?
If he had died a few days ago what would have been left? His death would have been a waste, in vain. Yes, he was feared, but fear and respect were different. His father was respected, he himself was not and he was aware of it.
"Sesshomaru?" Kagome spoke, and he looked down at her "Hn?"
"You zoned out again."
He looked back over his home "I have left this place for far to long it is time I take my place."
"Ok" She wasn't sure what he was getting at "What place?"
He looked back down at her "Prince of the West, son of the great Inu Tashio, leader of Inu."
"Are there any others?" Kagome asked.
He looked away again. "My mother" He stated and she gasped and he looked back at her again "It is up to me to ensure my bloodline for my seed is my fathers seed and his father before that"
Kagome blushed and he looked away "I am the last of my kind Miko make no mistake"
She didn't reply,
"But first I must build something worth leaving behind for my sons and daughters" Just as his father had before him.
"I thought you wouldn't die so easy" Kagome teased, and he glared down at her "This Sesshomaru will not fail again Miko."
He looked back down "Come."
It was time for him to reclaimed the West and his title.
