He rolled laying her down and looked at her. Even in her sleep, she blushed for him. Her body was warm, pink, his. He smelt her neck again, the pull so strong even now it made him want to grow inside her.

"Forgive me," He whispered as he brushed her hair away. His fangs elongated, and he bit into her flesh, this time he would not suck her blood. She arched and moaned into her sleep, and he held her close as he poured his power into her, giving her a little more of him than he already had. Her power did not rise to bite him; her body knew who he was.

He slowly released her neck and watched as the scar sealed to become his mark on her. He reluctantly pulled out of her half hard and covered her naked body. He dressed, grabbed his armor and sword and watched her for a little longer. She was now protected no matter the outcome. If he won he had a lot of explaining to do, and he hoped she would not resent him. If he died he knew her heart would break and he only hoped his mark on her would sooth it but in his death, though he hoped she would miss him he feared she would still resent him for what he was about to do.

He walked to the door "Do not, Miko, resent me," He could not handle that, not from her.

He closed the door behind him and looked at a maid in waiting "Tent to my mate when she awakens till then leave her be."

The woman's lips parts "Your mate My Lord?"

He only needed to nod, and understanding was clear and the joy on the woman's face as well. Did they hope for him to fall as his father had?

He inhaled. He had one more thing to do before calling on his mother; he needed to speak to his half breed brother.

Inuyasha was waiting when Sesshomaru showed up.

"What the fuck do you want, where is Kagome?"

"The Miko is well protected,"

"What does that mean Sesshomaru, is Kagome in trouble?"

"Be silent and listen Inuyasha" Sesshomaru barked.

Inuyasha stumbled back "Sesshomaru?"

Stress was evident on his brothers face "What's going on, tell me?"

So Sesshomaru told his brother of his mothers doing, Kagome's vow and what he was about to do.

"I leave no offspring if I should die you will have to guide her,"

"But if you have no offspring isn't Kagome free of her vow to protect your kid?"

It was then that Inuyasha saw his shoulders slack "I will fight,"

"What, afraid of this new brother?"

"I am not afraid for myself Inuyasha,"

"You're losing me Sesshomaru,"

"If I die Inuyasha my mother will win and while she can not touch what is mine Kagome will still need protection,"

"I don't understand; you're scaring me,"

"Kagome has rights to our fathers land,"

"Sesshomaru?"

"I marked her; she will be the only thing I leave behind,"

Inuyasha stumbled back,

"Do not resent me Inuyasha,"

"You mean like you resent me?"

"I must go,"

"Does Kagome know?"

"No,"

"Sesshomaru, don't do this, you still have time, talk to Kagome,"

"You know her well Inuyasha, and she is no match for my mother,"

"You are no match for your mother."

"Which is why I will die," He looked away "I leave her to you,"

Sesshomaru began to walk away,

"She ain't mine!" Inuyasha yelled to him,

"No, she's mine and do not let her forget it," Sesshomaru smiled.

Then he vanished.

"Fuck" Inuyasha cursed.
