Happy belated Thanksgiving to you all! Thank you for the love and support, I'm thankful for everyone who has voted and reviewed on this story of mine.

In this chapter we see a slightly new side of Gine :) I like playing around with her character since there's not so much information about her. So who really knows what classifies as "being in character" or not? Enjoy!

"Kill them."

"I refuse!"

"You idiot!" Bardock growled at her, before blasting the five defeated Avinoian's into smithereens. She gaped at him as her face grew red with what he assumed to be anger. The group had landed on the planet about a month ago, purging it section by section, little by little. Though as little as it was, planet Avino had some remarkable fighters indeed. What their strength couldn't make up for, their brains did. Their technology was very sophisticated; it had taken them almost a week and a half to find their first couple of Avinoians. If it weren't for Fasha's sharp eyes and strong sense of smell, it's safe to say the group of Saiyans would be at a loss.

Till this day, Bardock still doesn't know how the aliens were able to hide from them so long. Shugesh, though not the brightest of the batch, made a surprisingly valid point that there is said to be some psychics among them. Perhaps one of the psychic's had a vision that they'd be coming to purge their planet, and thus called for preparations to take place. The entire population had somehow created a shield that hid their power levels to where the scouters could sense absolutely nothing at all. There was an invisible sheath of some sort they had created, and this allowed them to be able to take cover underground. Bardock felt like Frieza was making a mistake, wiping out a planet with such amazing technology. But hey, it wasn't his or anybody's place to tell "The Lord Frieza" what he should do.

Bardock always kept his squad closeby for missions on unfamiliar planets, such as this one. They were honestly waiting for the full moon to come out, so they could transform and wipe out most of the population. He really wanted to finish this mission in two and a half months, rather than the estimated four months. But, at the rate they were going, it wasn't likely.

Gine was the worst. It's not that she didn't fight the Avinoians – because she did indeed do just that. Bardock noticed that once she defeated the foreign alien, she just let them lay their unconscious. She made no move to eliminate them from existence whatsoever. That leaves her open for any sudden attacks, especially since they now knew that the Avinoians were able to hide their true power until they were engaged in battle.

Not that he cared what happened to Gine; he'd just rather not have to see a member of his own race die at the hands at a much less inferior race.

Despite her alarmingly flustered face, Gine said nothing. Still glaring at her, Bardock scoffed at her and began to float in the air. "And you call yourself a Saiyan warrior."

That must've really set her off.

Gine flew with amazing speed at her squad leader and dragged him close to her by the collar of his Saiyan armor, seething with frustration and anger. She glared at him with unmatched animosity, yet he matched her look with a sneer.

"There's a difference between a warrior and a murderer, Bardock! Are you too simple-minded to know the difference?" Bardock frowned. He wasn't the simple-minded one here. "Me not wanting to kill an innocent race of people has absolutely nothing to do with my fighting skills or my Saiyan heritage. Fighting is fun and all, but killing is where I draw the line." She hissed, letting go of his armor and poked at his chest.

"Don't disrespect me like that, just because you're stronger than me and you're the squad captain or leader or whatever! I'm as much of a Saiyan as you!" she finished with a growl, and began to float away, but not before Bardock grabbed her arm forcefully. His frown was still on his face, his eyes dark.

"If you can't kill, you don't deserve to be here. Fighting and killing is in our blood, and if you can't handle that then…" Bardock didn't get to finish his sentence as Gine lashed out at him. She was breathing heavily, trying to attack him at all angles, but to no avail nonetheless. He blocked every hit and was growing more annoyed by her behavior with each passing second. Finally, fed up with her antics, he held her hands tightly, restricting any movement.

Suddenly, as if something clicked in her head, the wild look in her eyes disappeared and was replaced with a shocked pair of black orbs. When she was calm enough and Bardock was sure she wouldn't attack him again, he let her go. She bowed her down for a quick second, her wild spikes covering her face completely. She looked up at Bardock with teary eyes and began to speak.

"Bardock…I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, I just-"

Bardock glared at her and shook his head in disgust. "Don't apologize. Get ahold of your emotions. Don't fuckin' attack me again or else I'll beat your ass." And with that, he flew away, in search for more the foreign species. Without looking back, Bardock touched a tender part on his cheek and felt a bruise forming. 'Fuck, how is she so strong with that little body of hers?'

Bardock couldn't lie if he wanted to; her body that close to his, sided with her temper and strength, really turned him on. Although, he wouldn't admit that to anybody. He could not be distracted by females right now. This was his first mission under Frieza's command, and he couldn't let little Gine mess up the goal. No matter how much of a little sexy thing she was... Bardock would not hesitate to kill her if she fucked up again.

Unbeknownst to Bardock, a familiar figure snickered softly to himself, clicking the buttons on his scouter as he witnessed the entire ordeal. Making sure he only had an active connection with his partner, he began to speak.

"Fasha, you'll never guess who just had their first big fight..."

Gine sighed as she watched Bardock fly away, and she floated down. Her temper caught the best of her once again, only this time in the presence of someone who was practically a stranger to her. A mean stranger, who she was weirdly attracted to. She wanted to giggle at the thought of him squirming under her glare, but she knew now wasn't the time for that.

Gine hated a few things, and being called weak or a disgrace to the Saiyan race was almost in the same category as having to kill someone. She was always teased by being so sweet and not delivering the final blow to any of her opponents in her fights. Her father never said anything, but she knew that he was ashamed to call her his daughter sometimes. It wasn't fair what Saiyans did to other races, but what Bardock said did have some truth in it. Killing was in their blood.

It's not like Gine never felt the urge to kill someone before because she has. She was just always optimistic and friendly because she didn't like killing. However, if it were a matter of life or death, or someone threatening the lives of people close to her, she would do it as a last resort. But, growing up, she never had anybody close to her because everyone thought she was weird or weak. So, it never got to that point and Gine never had to kill.

But with this Frieza character ruling her race now, she doesn't know how much longer she can hold out on killing anybody without dying herself. Knowing Bardock, which wasn't too well if she was being honest with herself, he might actually kill her if she pulled something like that again. It may sound selfish, but Gine couldn't risk that; she wanted to live a full life with a family and cubs. She couldn't do that if she was dead.

Bardock was right though, she had to control her temper. His words just rubbed her the wrong way. He didn't deserve that, no matter how rude it was.

Gine didn't know how long she was standing where she was, but when she came back to reality, it was dark, save for the bright moonlight shining against her skin. The moon would be full in a couple of days, and probably then, their mission would be almost complete. She began walking towards what she believed to be a village. She groaned as a few small power levels began to flash wildly on the lens of her scouter. She followed the red arrow showing her where to go quietly and made her way to a small hut. There was most likely two or three Avinoians in there, and they made no move to come out soon. She mumbled softly to herself, "Guess I gotta start somewhere."

She began to feel nauseous as she charged up a ki blast, strong enough to destroy the house and everyone in it. She lowered her arm as her breath quickened and sweat droplets began to form on her forehead. She held her stomach painfully and squatted down, letting the bile and spit travel upwards and out of her mouth. Her vomit was mixed with tears as she squeezed her eyes tightly. 'No, no, no...' a small voice chanted in her head. A louder voice encouraged her to continue, telling her how much more respect she'd gain from the rest of the squad if she actually helped purge.

Wiping the saliva and tears from her face with the back of her hand, Gine began to charge a ki blast once more. She stood there for what felt like hours, just staring at the little hut. She wished they would come out and fight her - that would make it slightly easier. Gine sighed once again, and was about to lower her arm until a gruff voice startled her, causing her to accidentally fire the blast.

"Just do it, Gine." She recognized the voice as Borgos' and heard his companions Shugesh and Fasha cheering her on. She was so distracted by the thought of wishing for the people in the hut to come out and fight her, she didn't notice the flashing numbers indicating the three Saiyans coming her way.

Gine could only watch in horror as her accidental blast fired directly at the hut, causing an explosion upon impact. The blast had enough ki in it to destroy everything, just as Gine previously thought.

As the smoke and ash disappeared into the dark night, all Gine did was drop down to her knees, ignoring the cheers behind her.

She never meant for that blast to be fired.

She did it.

There were two parts of her fighting right now: one was elated that she finally committed her first kill, while the other was saddened at this. The internal battle wasn't enough to take her out of the reality she was in, though. She felt a pat on her shoulder and heard the other three Saiyans talking amongst themselves before taking off. Before they left, she briefly heard Fasha tell her that they were going back to the spot where their pods were at for a good nights sleep. Gine didn't move from her spot. She just sat there, defeated and in shock.

She did it.

She killed and she didn't know how to feel. If her mother was alive, what would she say? Her mom, who taught her actual morals, who taught her right from wrong, and who caused her to be so optimistic. Her father would've smiled widely in approval, but would understand Gine's feelings nonetheless. He was always so supportive of her, despite her not being who she knew he wanted her to be. At least he wouldn't be ashamed anymore.

Gine grabbed her hair and pulled at it, a habit she did when she was frustrated. She did not know how to react.

Suddenly, she wished that someone was there to sit by her, to comfort her.
