Final chapter! Thank you all for riding this long journey with me.
"So that's how I met your father, Goku," Gine clasped her hands together, glancing over at her son. He was a handsome young man, a spitting image of his father. Though, while Bardock was always serious, Goku was the complete opposite. He was goofy and always laughing, and that made Gine love him even more than she already had.
Goku had dropped down to the depths of Hell to find his parents, out of his own curiosity. He had heard stories of the Saiyans and his father's last-ditch effort to save his race, but never anything else. Growing up, the young Saiyan had always wondered who his parents were and what type of people they were. He'd never forget meeting his older brother for the first time, and he was glad to say that their parents were nothing like him.
He'd been gone for approximately three Earth days now, but he barely noticed. His mother was beautiful, and he looked just like his father, very much how Goten looked like him. At least he knew where he got his outrageous hairstyle from. He bonded with his mother almost immediately, exchanging stories with her. His father took a little getting used to, as he was much like Vegeta when they first started working together. Now, he was pretty sure that Vegeta considered him a friend, now that he wasn't out to kill him anymore. Bardock didn't join the conversation until Goku spoke of the activities on Namek - where his Super Saiyan transformation took place. Now, Bardock was more intrigued than Gine in his son's stories, and wanted to learn more about his power.
"His name is Kakarot, Gine. You named him yourself.' Bardock grumbled from his place on the floor, across from his son. When he first saw his son appear out of thin air in front of him, he was shocked to say the least. At first, Bardock thought that he was coming face to face with his estranged brother, Turles. However, there was no smirk and no malicious glint in his eyes. He knew it had to be his son, the one from his final visions before being disintergrated by that bastard, Frieza's, supernova.
Bardock was extremely proud of his son, as he'd been given the opportunity to be able to hear and see the battles Kakarot and the Prince have fought together in. With each victory, Bardock felt his heart swell up with pride. He only wished that he could be there to fight right along side his son, and that Raditz didn't turn out to be the little asshole he was. Looking up, Bardock groaned, "Speak of the devil himself..."
"Old man," said Saiyan greeted, dropping down from Hell's sky. Raditz had made amends with his parents a couple months after he was killed by Piccolo's "Special beam canon" and he realized that there could've been a better route to take so that both he and his brother were alive. However, the damage was already done, and he had no one to turn to except his very own parents.
"Hello mother," Raditz mumbled, as the short mother got on her toes to plant a kiss on his cheek. A blush formed on his face as he made eye contact with his idiotic little brother. Though, he wasn't that little anymore. Goku smiled at his brother, harboring no hard feelings whatsoever. "Hey, Raditz!"
"Hello...Kakarot," Raditz cleared his throat, still rather uncomfortable that his younger brother was one of the strongest beings in the universe. He wasn't entirely sure if this was a facade that Goku had on, or if he was still secretly holding on to a grudge from when he kidnapped Gohan. Goku could destroy him now and no one would be able to stop him, he was sure of it. And to think that almost two decades ago, Raditz was the stronger one of the two.
"So how did you and my daughter in law meet, Kakarot? You already heard your mother's silly story of how we became this...thing. So your mate has got to be a strong one, seeing as Gohan and Goten were stronger than the average Saiyan child," Bardock inquired, genuinely interested in his sons family. His visions never went that far into the future, so he had no clue what his grandson's or daughter in law was like, only the glimpses of Gohan and Goten's participation in battles.
"Yeah, she definitely has got to be a strong one to deal with this clown," Raditz blurted out, narrowly dodging his mother's strike. Instantly, he bit his tongue and glanced warily at his brother to see if he would attack. He waited and waited...
And Goku just laughed really hard at him. To say he was baffled, was an understatement. "Wow, Raditz! That's what Vegeta calls me too."
Raditz relaxed his body, glaring at his brother, "Well, it's true. You're an idiot."
Behind the brothers, the parents casted a glance at eachother, smiling. They turned their attention back to Goku, who was beginning his next tale.
"Okay, so when I first met Chichi, I think we were about twelve years old. So me and Bulma - if you don't remember, that's one of my best friend's that has blue hair, and she's also Vegeta's wife - were looking for our next dragonball, and we came across this castle that was surrounded by fire with half of it burned to the ground in an area called "Fire Mountain." The insanely strong Ox-King lived there, and he attacked us for being on his land. When we explained what that dragonball looked like, he sent me to go to Roshi's island to get something called the Bansho Fan that could help put out the fires. He also sent me to get his daughter, Princess Chichi, on my way there..."
"Wait," Raditz interupted, uncrossing his arms in disbelief. "You mean to tell me that you're married to a Princess? Doesn't that make you a prince or something, Kakarot?"
Goku scratched his head in slight confusion before shrugging, "I don't really know... Probably, I guess, technically speaking." He watched as his older brother turned red with something akin to anger, disappointment, and irritation.
"How do you not know if you're a prince or not, you idiot!"
"Hey! I'm not an idiot, Raditz! Take that back!"
Gine giggled at her sons' antics and grabbed onto her mate's arms. How she adored her little family.
