Chi-Chi slammed the pan in the sink in frustration. She did a good job of hiding her feelings from her husband and son, but when she was alone she tended to vent her feelings by cleaning. The countdown continued to tick by, an ever-present ticking inside her mind. Goku had seemed desperate in his advances, treating this like it might be their final days and she despised it.

Normally, him leaving to do something would be no big deal. Most of their income was him away on their big plots of land. Yet, this felt so different from their lives before. It felt so final, so strained, so wrong. She knew it was selfish, but she really felt that he had no obligation to be in this fight. Here these two strange beings come and tell him he has to be present for their needs.

He has no memories, no attachments, yet being the kind soul he is he ropes himself in with them. A tear rolled down her cheek at the thought of this battle turning south and her stomach churned with the implications. Gohan without a father, she having to probably move back in with her father and find another means of income to provide for their child. Plus, she had no idea really how to care for him once he came of age. What of Vegeta? What of Bulma and Tights?

None of this was fair, or right, or just. None of it at all and she really wondered how long they would be gone once the time finally came.

Raditz huffed a breath as he watched their prince train his brother. He hated to admit the skill he possessed for never being in the water before these past few months. He learned quickly, even with no memory. He just hoped it was enough to finally take down Freiza.

He was a bit jealous of his brother, in a way, just because of how he got to lead a somewhat normal life on the surface and not deal with the day to day running from Frieza's goons or the ugly mutated beast himself. Life on the surface was so simple, so quiet. He much preferred it and once this was over he definitely didn't want to go back to the ocean long-term.

Especially not since he found Tights.

They stood at the waters edge, the ocean waves lapping at their feet and pulling in sand and shells, and wood before pushing it back. The sun had just started to rise over the horizon painting the sky with the pale colors of dawn. The stars started to recede back behind an opaque sky of pale blue that chased the rainbow swathed clouds bathing the ocean in sunlight. Vegeta looked to either side of himself, the brothers Bardock stood tall as they waded forward into the sea, the open ocean singing its sirens call as the waves tried to push them under.

Human facades melted away under the growing tide and mer swam in the place where men once stood. They swam for the kingdom of Vegetasai with one singular purpose. The end of Frieza.
