Things may have been quiet at Duel Academy but over in Canada things were anything but quiet as the duel monsters scene over there was about as competitive as you could get, still that didn't mean that the duelists didn't get a chance to relax occasionally, even if those duelists were the French and Canadian National Champions.
"This is the life, huh Adriene?" Amanda Cocteau asked with a blissful sigh as she sat on the deck chair next to the French duelist, the Tag Team Couple's Tournament had wrapped up a few short hours ago, and since Adriene's flight back to her home city of Paris wasn't until the following morning the two women were using the opportunity to relax by the poolside at the Four Seasons Hotel, a five-star hotel that had been paid for by the organizers of the tournament and since it was a hot day today the two girls and their boyfriends had been spending it either swimming or relaxing on the deck chairs. "Duel Monsters is great and all but who am I to say no to a chance to relax?"
"Indeed." Adriene Beaumont nodded in agreement as she leaned back, the two bikini clad women had been getting some unwanted attention from some of the younger male guests who weren't interested in getting their autographs but their boyfriends had scared them off for the most part. "Five-star food, days in the spa, spacious rooms…." Adriene trailed off as she saw two handsome muscular men emerge from the pool and grinned. "And the view isn't bad either."
"You talking aboot them or me?" Amanda asked with a grin and Adriene laughed before tossing a towel at her boyfriend so he could dry himself off.
"Not commenting on that." Adrienne responded as her boyfriend caught the towel and started drying himself off, once he was done the two men walked up to them. "Enjoy the swim Jacques?"
"Much more than trying to keep up with you in Duel Monsters." Jacques responded as he sat next to his girlfriend, they shared a brief kiss before Jacques sighed, like Adriene he had black hair that was neck length and he had a goatee. "I probably wouldn't have agreed to come with you if you had mentioned that you needed me to team up with you for a tournament."
"I did say that." Adriene responded with a chuckle as she glanced at her boyfriend. "You just stopped listening the moment I said "all expenses paid trip to Canada"."
"Well that and after you said that Amanda was going to be competing." Jacques responded and Adriene grinned. "Anyway, when are we going to retire to our room for some real fun?" Jacques asked and Adriene shook her head knowing exactly what he meant.
"Later, babe, it's a little too early for sex as far as I'm concerned." Adriene responded and Jacques let out an annoyed sigh, Adriene glanced over at Amanda who was now laying on her stomach whilst her boyfriend applied sun tan lotion to her skin. "And besides, you still did better than Casey did."
"Give me a break Adriene." Casey, Amanda's boyfriend who had short blonde hair and blue eyes, answered with an annoyed sigh. "I never even watched a duel in full before I met Amanda, when she was invited to the tournament she had to give me a crash course in Duel Monsters."
"Same goes for Jacques and we still made it past the second round." Adriene responded with a grin as she glanced at the two Canadians. "You know what I think? I think it's less to do with your inexperience and more to do with the fact that, for all her talent, Amanda's a bad teacher."
"I'll pretend I didn't hear that." Amanda grunted in annoyance as she glanced at Adriene. "I'm surprised that you guys aren't staying in Canada longer, didn't you say that you have family here Adriene?"
"Oui but they are in Vancouver, not exactly practical to stay with them whilst the tournament's taking place in Toronto." Adriene responded before noticing that Jacques was holding a bottle of sun tan lotion, getting the idea Adriene lay down on her stomach and let her boyfriend apply the lotion to her back. "And even though the tournament's over, they do have what they call "real jobs"."
"Let me guess, your relatives think that Duel Monsters is a waste of time as well?" Amanda asked before undoing the straps of her bikini top to make it applying the lotion a bit easier for Casey all though she kept the top on, Adriene nodded before doing the same and Amanda sighed. "I never understood that mindset, especially with Pro-League duelists can make at least a thousand dollars for winning a tournament these days."
"Some people are still stuck in their ways, most of my family think that it's nothing but a silly Children's Card Game." Adriene responded with a sigh, unbeknownst to the two women two robed figures were watching them from the nearby bushes but no one had seen them. "Joke's on them when said "Children's Card Game" let's me stay at hotels like this one."
"I'll drink to that." Amanda nodded in agreement as the French Girl grinned in response. "By the way, did Phil call you on Skype earlier?"
"Now that you mention it, yes he did." Adriene responded with a frown on her face. "What I found odd was that he was asking if I had heard from Erick."
"Yeah, he called me as well asking the same thing." Amanda responded with a nod as Casey finished applying the lotion. "I told him that I hadn't heard a peep from Erick since the expulsion duels."
"So, did I, I did ask him if he was competing in the UK Championships but apparently, Erick had dropped out." Adriene added as Jacques finished applying the lotion. "Phil found it odd since he was the favorite to win the Scottish Qualifiers but he didn't press the issue, mostly because the pizza they had ordered from Dominos had arrived."
"I just find it odd that he was asking about that asshole." Amanda responded with a shrug before noticing that their boyfriends were heading towards the men's changing room. "Retiring for the night boys?" Amanda called out to them and the boys looked up.
"Yeah, we're heading back to our rooms once we get dressed." Casey responded as Amanda started to do up the strap on her bikini top. "Will you be joining us?"
"You realize that you just sounded like you were inviting us up for group sex, right?" Adriene pointed out and Casey laughed nervously as Adriene started doing up her bikini top strap. "We'll be up in a couple of hours, I want to work on my tan."
"What she said." Amanda nodded in response and the boys nodded before walking off. "Surprised you never considered moving here Adriene." Amanda commented before rolling onto her back. "Didn't you say that you were getting bored of France?"
"Oui and I have considered it." Adriene nodded in response before rolling onto her back, the pool was usually empty at this time of day and the two girls were the only ones in the deck chairs. "But I am the French National Champion and I do have to defend my title, flying back and forth from Canada to France every other month would just be more trouble than it's worth."
"So, in other words, as soon as someone dethrones you you're moving to Canada?" Amanda asked and Adriene shrugged her shoulders in response.
"Between getting enough money to move here and getting visas sorted out for me and Jacques by the time I am ready to move to Canada I might have taken back my title." Adriene pointed out before yawning. "You know, considering that most of the other guests are in their rooms by now we probably could've had sex with the boys down here."
"What? You mean on the deck chairs or in the pool?" Amanda asked and Adriene grinned, Amanda returned the grin but shook her head. "As much as I'd enjoy that, do I need to point out that the cameras would lead to us being busted?"
"That's part of the fun." Adriene responded with a grin. "Besides, the last time we did it I managed to land my bikini top on the lens of one of the cameras, was a bit of a bitch to get down once we were done but still."
"Yeah but you still didn't do it quick enough to stop the hotel from breaking it up by sending security out." Amanda responded before grinning. "But maybe once it's past midnight and most of the guests are asleep."
"I knew you'd see things my way." Adriene responded with a grin, a couple of hours passed by but as far as the two women knew time was just flying by, at one point Amanda fell asleep on her deckchair breaking Adriene's concentration. "Can't say I blame her for wanting to catch some sleep, we didn't exactly have much time for it during the tournament." Adriene thought with a small smile before glancing at the time on her IPhone. "It's still early in the evening, if she's still dozing off by nine o'clock I'll send her boyfriend a text…." Adriene's train off thought was broken when she caught site of rustling in the nearby bushes. "Probably just a small animal."
"Steve, I told you to keep still!" An unknown and clearly American male voice rang out from the bushes and Adriene's eyes narrowed. "Do you want them to spot us?"
"But I gotta pee man!" Another male voice, again male and American, rang out and Adrienne sweat-dropped.
"It's probably more perverts." Adriene shrugged her shoulders before reaching over for her IPhone. "Jacques and Casey may not be here but I have just the thing to scare them off, even if it does wake up Amanda."
"Go in the bushes if you have too!" The other male voice responded as Adriene went through her Spotify Playlist. "We were sent here to capture their souls for the Orichalcos."
"Wait, what?" Adriene thought before putting her IPhone down and shaking Amanda awake.
"Wh…...what?" Amanda said as she started to wake up. "Casey, I told you before, you don't put that in there, that's where you put the Ice Cream Cone."
"I'm not even going to ask." Adriene thought as a massive sweat-drop rolled down her head. "That sounded way too kinky, even for me!" Adriene thought as she shook Amanda again. "Amanda, wake up, we've got company." Adriene added and Amanda woke up fully.
"Is it more perverts? Why aren't you scaring them off with your bad taste in music?" Amanda asked and Adriene shook her head.
"Not this time." Adriene responded before motioning to the bush. "I overheard a couple of male voices from the bushes, at first I thought it was perverts and was about to scare them off with some of the worst songs on my Spotify Playlist." Adriene explained as she swung her legs over. "But I was wrong, it's Orichalcos Duelists."
"WHAT?" Amanda yelled out and Adriene put a finger to her mouth, Amanda nodded once she got the idea and Adriene removed the finger. "Our duel disks are back in the changing rooms, what's the plan?"
"We'll go to the changing rooms and act like we're retiring to our dorm rooms for the night, possible made up stories about wanting to have sex with our boyfriends is optional but it might make it convincing." Adriene responded and Amanda nodded in response. "But instead we're going to get dressed, grab our duel disks and come back out here to challenge then."
"Sounds like a good plan." Amanda nodded in agreement before the two girls stood up and stretched their arms. "I don't know about you Adriene but I've had enough sunbathing for one day." Amanda said out loud as the two girls made their way to the women's changing room. "I think I'll just go up to bed, maybe bang Casey if he's up for it, what about you?"
"I was thinking the same thing." Adriene said with a grin as she followed the taller girl. "Well, aside from the "bang Casey", unless you want to do some partner swapping for the night I'm going to see if Jacques wants to bang for our last night in Canada."
"Not even commenting on the partner swap thing." Amanda said with a laugh before the two girls entered the women's changing room, once they were gone the two men shared a look.
"Do you think they saw us?" Steve asked and the other Orichalcos Duelist.
"I don't know but man, the way they were just talking you'd think they were characters in a porno." The other duelist responded with a grin and Steve shook his head. "One that I wouldn't mind watching."
"Whatever man, I'm using this opportunity to go for a piss." Steve responded before walking off.
*meanwhile*
"Do you think they fell for it?" Amanda wondered as she put her top on, by now the two women had gotten changed out of their bikinis and into their street clothes, in Amanda's case it was a mid-riff bearing black top with a pair of jean shorts and boots. "I think we overdid it a bit with the whole "off to have sex with our boyfriends" story."
"I don't know, if they did they are pretty stupid." Adriene shrugged before grabbing her duel disk from the locker, she put it on and passed Amanda's duel disk to her. "Besides, Jacques did ask me if we'd have sex at some point."
"Yeah but I don't think he imagined you declaring your desire to ride his cock all night long to the world." Amanda deadpanned before looking over Adriene who was also dressed in a mid-riff bearing top but hers was a grey sleeveless shirt with a pair of jeans and tennis shoes. "By the way, you weren't serious about partner swapping, right?"
"Don't worry, I've done it before but I know that you're not into the same kind of kinky stuff as I am." Adriene reassured her before grinning. "Not that it didn't stop us from having sex with each other with our boyfriends watching that one time."
"I thought we agreed to never speak of that again?" Amanda asked with an annoyed look on her face. "Not even getting into how much we had to drink that night."
"You enjoyed it, didn't you?" Adriene asked and Amanda nodded.
"I did, what I didn't enjoy was the scandal that ensued after that hotel maid discovered us the next morning." Amanda said as she shook her head. "I'm still not sure what was worse, the hangover or the call from my brother asking why I was cheating on Casey with another woman, most of my extended family are still convinced that we're a lesbian couple because of that, no matter how many pictures I upload to Facebook of me kissing Casey."
"Yeah and since my family knows that I'm bi-sexual I had nothing to worry about." Adriene responded and Amanda frowned in response. "I mean yeah, I did get a similar phone call from my older sister but once I explained the situation she didn't bring it up again." Adriene said before grinning. "Besides, considering that we had won that tag team tournament to enter Battle City I'd consider the celebration worth it."
"Yeah, aside from the fact that we got knocked out during the city stage, at least I went out fighting the champion." Amanda responded before noticing the uncomfortable look on Adriene's face. "Can I be serious for a moment? We both know that the reason you didn't make it to the Battle City Semi-Finals was because you lost an Orichalcos Duel."
"Thanks for the trip down memory lane." Adriene responded with an annoyed look on her face. "I know what you're getting at, you want to know if I have any tips, right?" Adriene asked and Amanda nodded. "Don't bother trying to destroy the Field Spell, damage is real and you lose your soul if you lose the duel." Adriene added before sighing. "Taking over six thousand points of damage in that situation was not fun."
"You took on Andreas's twin brother, correct?" Amanda asked and Adriene nodded. "I'm surprised that you never mentioned that to Andreas during the expulsion duel."
"I didn't mention it because I want to put it behind me." Adriene responded as she started walking towards the door leading out of the changing room. "Besides, an expulsion duel seemed like an inappropriate place to bring it up, especially since he fell victim to his brother as well, come on, let's make sure that I don't take another trip there."
"Lead the way." Amanda responded before following her out of the room.
*outside the changing room*
"Did you have to go to the bathroom on the side of the hotel?" The other Orichalcos Duelist asked with an annoyed look on his face as Steve walked over to him having just relieved himself. "You realize that that's going to stink up the area, right? What if we end up dueling the girls here!?"
"Oh, come on, that won't happen." Steve responded as he knelt beside his partner "You heard what they said, they want the D rather than to duel."
"I still say that it sounded fake." The other duelist responded before the two girls emerged from the changing room duel disks at the ready. "Keep it down, they're here."
"Where did you say, you heard them?" Amanda asked and Adriene motioned towards the bush. "Okay, come on out, we know you're in there!"
"God, damn it, I knew it was too good to be true!" Steve moaned before the two duelists emerged from the bushes, the two women spotted the Orichalcos Disks almost immediately and frowned. "And I guess there's no point in hiding who we're affiliated with."
"You could say that." Adriene responded as her eyes narrowed. "What are you doing here anyway? Last I heard the Orichalcos Duelists were focusing their efforts on Duel Academy."
"What? You didn't think that we had more than one operation going, did you?" The unnamed duelist asked and Adriene frowned. "Let's just say that an old friend of yours alerted us to your presence at this hotel."
"And by the time we're done with you, you'll wish you'd have targeted someone else!" Amanda responded before nodding to Adriene. "But if we are your targets then I say we double team you boys for a few hours until your spent and we're satisfied…." Amanda trailed off before running a hand down her face. "Just so we're clear, I'm talking aboot a tag team duel, not a foursome!"
"Can we have a foursome anyway?" Steve asked and the two women glared at him. "Okay, guess not, how do you want to do this?"
"I think right here would be a good place to…..." Adriene trailed off before holding her nose with a disgusted look on her face. "What the hell is that smell?!"
"Oh, sorry about that, I relieved myself over there." Steve responded as he motioned to a nearby wall and Amanda held her nose as well.
"You ever heard of a bathroom? There's one in the male changing rooms!" Amanda responded with a look of disgust on her face.
"I didn't want to alert security." Steve responded before sighing. "Okay, I may be an Orichalcos Duelist but even I wouldn't want to duel next to dry urine! Those in favor of going to the other side of the pool say…"
"I!" The other three duelists responded simultaneously and Steve sweat-dropped before they followed the girls to the other side of the pool.
"As I was saying." Adriene said as she waved her hand in front of her nose. "Right here seems as good a spot as any, but before we kick your asses, can we at least get your names?"
"I'm Adam, he's Steve." The unnamed duelist responded as they removed their hoods, Adam, as we now known, had short dark brown hair and brown eyes and seemed to be quite tanned whilst Steve had neck length blonde hair, a goatee and blue eyes and was pale. "That aside, what order are we going in?"
"I'll go first, then Adam, then Adriene and then Steve." Amanda responded as the four duelists activated their duel disks and drew their opening hands. "That way, if Adriene has Cosmobeet in her hand she can use its effect during Adam's turn and potentially Synchro Summon Naturia Beast, it's not much but I'll take any advantage we can get at this point."
"That's fine by me." Steve responded before looking over his hand. "Not that it matters what order you go in, Adriene's about to take a return trip to the Orichalcos and you'll be joining her." Steve added and Adriene glared at him.
"Let's duel!" The four duelists said simultaneously before Amanda looked over her hand.
"Okay, I've never been in a Orichalcos Duel and Adrienne has." Amanda thought as she glanced over at Adrienne, if the French Girl was worried about going through an Orichalcos Duel again it wasn't immediately obvious. "Then again, she did have one of the best poker faces I've seen when we played strip poker with the boys the other night." Amanda thought before picking up a card. "I summon Vylon Hept in attack mode!" Amanda played the card a floating white and going being appeared on the field, its body was oddly shaped to say the least but it seemed ready for battle (4/1800/800).
"He did mention that you ran a Fairy deck." Steve commented with a smirk as Amanda picked up two cards. "He said nothing about it being a Vylon deck though."
"Will you shut up?!" Adam reprimanded him and Steve gulped. "He told us to never mention him!"
"But you're doing it!" Steve protested and Adam shook his head.
"Only because there's no point in keeping it secret." Adam responded before turning to Amanda. "And no, I'm not saying the name of the guy we're talking about."
"Suit yourself, we'll get the info out of you eventually." Amanda responded before setting the two cards she had picked up. "I set two cards facedown and end my turn." Amanda announced and Adam drew his card.
"I hope you're ready for a trip down memory lane Adriene." Adam said as he turned to the French Duelist. "First I activate Terra-Forming! With this I…."
"You can search through your deck for a Field Spell and add it to your hand." Adriene interrupted him and Adam sweat-dropped. "Even if I never fell victim to the Orichalcos, come on, I'm the French National Champion and I run that card in my deck, why wouldn't I know what that card does or what you plan to do with it?"
"And that's not even getting into the fact that that's a fairly popular card." Amanda chimed in and Adam grunted in annoyance.
"God damn know it all bitches." Adam muttered under his breath not caring if either of his opponents heard him before he started inputting commands into his duel disk and added a card to his hand.
"Mommy, look! The Canadian National Champion's in a duel! And the French National Champion's teaming with her!" The four duelists heard an excited young girl tell her mother and not long afterwards a sizable crowd gathered around them.
"Any other time I'd welcome an audience." Amanda whispered to Adriene who nodded in agreement. "But now? I'm not comfortable with having this many civilians around an Orichalcos Duel."
"Agreed." Adriene responded as she scanned the crowd, it was mostly made up of young children being accompanied by their parents but there were some hotel staff who had stopped what they were doing to watch the duel. "I don't like this Amanda but I don't see any way we can get them to go back inside the hotel."
"I guess we don't have a choice but to go with it." Amanda responded before turning to their opponents. "I don't know if you've noticed but there's kids around." Amanda said as she motioned to the crowd. "So maybe watch your language a bit?"
"Here's what I think, fuck off and I'll say what I want bitch!" Adam spat and the parents quickly covered their kid's ears whilst Amanda glared at him. "Besides, a few harsh words never hurt anyone but this next card has! I activate the Seal of the Orichalcos!"
"Oh shit." Adriene muttered under her breath as the Seal enclosed around the four duelists, thankfully for the two girls the parents in the audience quickly recognized the danger they were in and rushed their kids back into the hotel as the pentagram appeared on Adam and Steve's foreheads. "Just because I lost one Orichalcos Duel doesn't mean I'll lose another, right Amanda?" Adriene added before she turned to her teammate….and realized that she was getting a dirty look.
"I just told them to watch their language, you couldn't do the same?" Amanda asked with an annoyed look on her face and Adriene shook her head.
"Do you really think I'm going to censor myself after the Orichalcos has been activated? Especially after I fell victim to it once before?" Adriene asked and Amanda went to reply but couldn't find the words. "Besides, the kids are back in the hotel now!"
"You make some good points." Amanda conceded before shaking her head. "But even so, those kids look up to duelists like us, at least try to set a good example."
"And this is exactly why I leave any PR work to my agent." Adriene responded with a sigh and Amanda shook her head.
"That's only because you only became the French National Champion after Battle City ended." Amanda responded before giving her a reassuring grin. "You'll get used to it."
"Maybe but for now I'm happy to leave to Pierre." Adriene responded before turning to Adam. "Are you done?"
"I'm not stupid enough to leave my field as wide open as your legs after a few drinks." Adam responded earning death glares from his opponents. "I set two cards facedown and a monster in defense mode to end my turn." Adam announced and Adriene drew her card.
"He didn't summon a monster so I couldn't special summon Cosmobeet through his effect, not much point in doing it now either since I don't have any cards in my hand that let me Special Summon Monsters." Adriene thought with a frown before eyeing the last two cards in her hand. "But I can do other things." Adriene thought before playing a card. "I activate Foolish Burial Goods!"
"Okay, what monsters are you sending to…. wait, goods?" Steve asked with a confused look on his face. "I've never heard of that card."
"I'm not surprised, it only just came out." Adriene responded before inputting commands into her duel disk. "Admittedly, it's very situational, like Foolish Burial it lets me send a card from my deck to the graveyard, only difference? It has to be a Spell/Trap Card." Adriene explained before retrieving her card and holding it up revealing it to be a trap card. "I chose Naturia Sacred Tree!"
"I thought so." Amanda thought with a nod as Adriene's deck auto-shuffled. "She opened the duel between her team and my team with that same move and if I'm right they are in big trouble."
"And before you ask, yes, there is a method to my madness." Adriene added before inputting more commands into her duel disk. "When Naturia Sacred Tree is sent to the graveyard I can take one Naturia Card and add it to my hand but it can't be another copy of Sacred Tree." Adriene added before adding the card to her hand. "I chose Naturia Forrest."
"That's a lot of trouble to go through just to retrieve your Field Spell." Adam responded as Adriene's deck auto-shuffled. "Terra-Forming would've worked just as well."
"Maybe but you have to work with what you've got." Adriene responded before playing her card. "And I know for a fact that I2's revised the rules to allow more than one Field Spell to be active at a time so I activate Naturia Forrest!" Adriene played the card and the scenery within the Orichalcos changed, however unlike the happy scenery the two girls were expecting what they got was a barren forest with what looked like a mall being built off in the distance and none of the creatures present. "What on Earth?!"
"Surprised?" Adam asked with a big grin on his face. "We are aware of the revised rules and, well, the Orichalcos tends to corrupt any Field Spell that gets played within it."
"Umi becomes dried up, Forrest gets chopped down and in this case." Steve added as a big grin appeared on his face. "Naturia Forest becomes a construction site!"
"You okay Adriene?" Amanda asked with clear concern on her face as she turned to Adriene who seemed to be getting angry. "I know you feel strongly about the environment but…..."
"First, you bastards corrupt my favorite game growing up and, as of now, how I make my living." Adriene said as she clenched her first and tears rolled down her face. "And now you have the audacity to ruin my deck as well?! I'll make you pay for this!"
"Hey, no one said that your deck's ruined." Adam said as he put his hands up defensively. "Naturia Forest still retains its effects, the holograms just completely different."
"Maybe but if I were you I'd be more worried about Naturia Spiderfang!" Adriene played the card and the big yellow spider appeared on the field (4/2100/400) and like during her duel against Andreas the spider cowered though it seemed more afraid of the Orichalcos this time. "True, Spiderfang can't attack unless you activate a Spell, Trap or Monster effect first but twenty-one hundred attack points is still more than enough to keep most level four monsters at bay! I set two cards facedown and end my turn!"
"We'll see about that." Steve said as the two facedown cards appeared on the field and he drew his card. "I activate the Spell Card Dragon Shrine! With this I send one Dragon Type Monster to my graveyard from my deck!" Steve announced before inputting commands into his duel disk. "But that's not all, you see if I send a normal type dragon monster to my graveyard with this card…."
"You can send another Dragon Type Monster to the graveyard." Amanda cut him off as the two women rolled their eyes and Steve glared at her. "We don't run that card in our decks for obvious reasons but we've seen it played enough times during the Tag Team Couple's Tournament that we practically know it's effect like the back of our hands."
"Pun fully intended off course." Adriene added whilst still glaring at them and Steve growled in frustration. "What did you expect from dueling two of the top duelists in the world and the national champions from their respective countries?"
"Exactly, you should've expected us to know how certain card effects work." Amanda added and Steve glared at them.
"Know it all cunts." Steve muttered under his breath before picking up two cards. "I set two cards facedown and end my turn."
"Two facedown cards and nothing else, if either of those facedown cards aren't Call of the Haunted or something similar then I'm giving up my title as Canadian National Champion!" Amanda thought as she drew her card and momentarily glanced up at Adriene. "I just hope that Adriene can keep her cool long enough for us to win, it's bad enough that the Orichalcos is twisting Field Spells like this but given that her parents are environmental activists who installed in her the mindset that the earth needs to be saved I can't say I blame her for getting angry with our opponents."
"Amanda's taking a long time to even look at her drawn card." Adriene thought as she glanced up at Amanda. "I hope she knows what she's doing."
"I activate a Spell Card called Vylon Component and I equip it to Hept!" Amanda played the card and her monster started glowing. "You don't have to worry about that just yet, your life-points on the other hand Steve?"
"Just try it!" Steve taunted her and Amanda grinned.
"Well, you asked for it! Vylon Hept, attack his life-points directly!" Amanda commanded and the fairy fired a beam of light at Steve…...
"Nice try but I don't think so!" Adam interrupted as his facedown card flipped up depicting two dragons roaring at each other above a graveyard. "I activate Draconic Resurrection!"
"Well, I'll give you some credit for playing a card that I've never heard off." Amanda commented before seeing that Steve had retrieved the two monsters he had sent to the graveyard during his turn.
"You may have never heard of this card but we're about to make sure that you never forget it! When a direct attack is declared and we have at least two Dragon Type Monsters in our graveyard we can Special Summon both monsters free of charge." Steve explained before playing the cards. "But that's not even the best part, things like level and attack restrictions don't apply to it so I summon Luster Dragon Number 2 and Darkstorm Dragon!"
"Luster Dragon Number 2, now there's a monster name I haven't heard in a while." Amanda commented as the two dragons appeared on the field, the first one was a beautiful emerald green dragon that appeared with a roar (6/2400/1800) whilst the second was a massive black dragon that was very intimidating (8/2700/2500). "Darkstorm Dragon on the other hand? We both know that thing's a Gemini Monster."
"And a powerful one at that." Adriene added and Adam frowned.
"This is what I get for being one of the duelists assigned to take out the duelists those brats faced during the expulsion duels." Adam thought before smirking. "Off course, our dragons gain a power boost from the Orichalcos." Adam added as their dragons' attack points increased to 2900 and 3300 respectively. "And you are free to attack."
"Not on them but your facedown monster on the other hand?" Amanda asked before Vylon Hept changed his beam's direction and aimed it at Adam's monster, revealing it to be Masked Dragon (3/1400/1100) which was quickly destroyed. "Can't say that I'm too surprised by the fact that you guys are both running Dragon decks."
"It's called Synergy, something your decks don't have." Adam responded before searching through his deck via the commands on his duel disk and retrieving another Masked Dragon which, when he summoned it, got a boost from the Orichalcos. "Are you done?"
"For now, yeah I'm done." Amanda announced and Adam drew his card. "That trap card of theirs must have some kind of drawback because otherwise? It's one of the most broken cards I've heard off and I debuted on the pro-circuit during the Tele-DAD days."
"Steve, can I borrow Darkstorm Dragon and Luster Dragon?" Adam asked and Steve nodded as his two dragons flew over to Adam's side of the field. "I use my Normal Summon to activate his Gemini Mode!" Adam added as the dragon started glowing. "Now I activate Dragon's Rage!"
"Not much point considering that neither me nor Amanda have any defense position monsters." Adriene pointed out before her eyes widened. "Unless…..."
"Unless my plan was to use Darkstorm Dragon's effect on it." Adam finished the sentence for her as Dragon Rage's hologram shattered "If I send one face-up spell/trap card to the graveyard Darkstorm Dragon gets to nuke all set Spell/Trap Cards on the field!"
"Again, we know that." Adriene responded before her facedown card flipped up. "Which is why I can't let you do that! I activate Divine Wrath, by discarding one card from my hand I can negate Darkstorm Dragon's effect and destroy it!" Adriene announced as she discarded the one remaining card in her hand and lightning struck the massive dragon destroying it. "And whilst the Orichalcos has ruined my field spell's hologram the effect stays the same, since I just negated the effect of a card I can add a Naturia Monster to my hand."
"Fine but my dragon isn't staying dead for long!" Steve responded as Adriene started inputting commands into her duel disk and his facedown card flipped up. "I activate Birthright, since Gemini Monsters are considered Normal Type Monsters whilst they're in the graveyard this trap card will bring back Darkstorm Dragon!" Steve added as his dragon returned to the field. "And before you ask Adam, yeah, you can borrow it again."
"Pity that he's already used up his normal summon for the dragon's Gemini Mode." Amanda responded as Darkstorm Dragon made his way over to Adam's side of the field and Adriene added her monster to her hand.
"True but our dragons are about to put a serious dent in your life-points ladies." Adam responded before pointing to Naturia Spiderfang. "Luster Dragon, attack Naturia Spiderfang, Masked Dragon, attack her life-points!" Adam commanded and the two dragons unleashed their attacks, Luster Dragon's fire incinerated Spiderfang whilst Masked Dragon burned Adriene bringing her life-points down to 5200. "And you know, I could set up Steve for success by attacking Adriene again with Darkstorm but when I said I was going to damage both of your life-points I meant it! Darkstorm Dragon, attack Vylon Hept!" Adam commanded and the dragon breathed fire at the fairy incinerating him and bringing Amanda's life-points down to 6500. "And that's first blood to us."
"Adriene, are you okay?" Amanda asked as she turned to the French Duelist, Adriene nodded in response and Amanda turned to Adam. "You're going to wish that you had followed that move through, when Vylon Segment is sent to the graveyard I can add another Vylon Spell Card to my hand!"
"And that's not all your attack did!" Adriene added as her trap card flipped up. "I activate Shock Draw! Now I draw once for every thousand life-points that I just lost, since I lost two thousand life-points I will draw twice."
"Draw and add all the cards you want; you ladies are outmatched and outgunned." Adam responded with a grin as Adriene drew her two cards and Amanda retrieved her Spell Card from her deck. "I end my turn at that." Adam announced and once Steve's dragons where on his side of the field Adriene drew a third card.
"Well, as much as I'd like to say that things are going well, I'd be lying." Adriene thought with a frown before scanning the opponents' side of the field. "I have nothing to protect my side of the field and Amanda hasn't used either of her facedown cards, they on the other hand have two powerful dragons including one that would leave Amanda completely defenseless if they get its effect off." Adriene thought before looking over her hand. "It's times like these that make me miss the days when Morphing Jar wasn't a banned card! My hand is decent but I don't have any trap cards just two spells and two monsters including the one I added when I negated Darkstorm Dragon's effect!"
"Adriene's taking a long time to make her move." Amanda thought with a frown as she glanced over at the French girl. "That's not a good sign, she's usually a lot more decisive than this when it comes to Duel Monsters!"
"Arkhassic Record, on one hand I won't be taking that much of a risk because so far I've only used what? Four cards at most?" Adriene thought before glancing up at the opponent's side of the field. "And if this doesn't work it'll mean another trip to the Orichalcos and unlike my semi-frequent trips to Canada that's not a trip I'm in a hurry to make, well it's now or never!" Adriene thought before playing the card. "I activate Arkhassic Record! I draw two cards but if I've used either of those cards up to this point then they both get banished."
"Taking a big risk, aren't ya?" Adam asked with a grin as Adriene drew her two cards. "You realize that we could finish you off if it doesn't pay off, right?"
"We'll finish these bitches off even if the risk pays off!" Steve responded with a grin and Adam nodded in agreement. "I mean honestly, what could she have in her deck that could stand up to our dragons?"
"I don't have anything that can stand up to your monsters right now." Adriene responded as she looked up and it was then that they noticed the big grin on her face. "But I do have a card in my hand that can wipe them all out at once." Adriene added and the two men laughed.
"What a joke!" Adam exclaimed in between fits of laughter.
"She's bluffing! She has to be!" Steve added and Adriene grinned.
"Am I?" Adriene asked before sending Arkhassic Record to the graveyard. "I haven't used either of the two cards I just drew so I get to hold on to them, well at least one of them." Adriene added before her grin widened. "You won't be laughing for long boys, I activate Dark Hole!"
"WHAT?!" Adam and Steve yelled out simultaneously stopping their laughter in the process and sure enough a black hole opened in the skies above the field.
"Good thing you were considerate enough to destroy both of our monsters last turn." Adriene added as the two women braced themselves. "Because otherwise? We'd both be affected by this Spell Card." Adriene added as the three dragons were sucked into the black hole destroying Steve's copy of Birthright in the process. "Off course, unless you have something like Swing of Memories in your hand you won't get back your dragon any time soon."
"Shut up, you cunt!" Steve snapped at her causing several shocked gasps from the parents which they could hear since they were close enough to the door that would take them from the poolside area and into the hotel.
"Hey, watch your language!" Amanda responded as she glared at him and Adriene did likewise. "There are kids present for god's sake!"
"Oh, go suck your boyfriends' dicks!" Steve responded as he rolled his eyes and the two women's frowns deepened. "You didn't seem to care about any kids being present when you talked openly about wanting to ride their cocks!"
"We weren't aware that there were kids in the area at the time." Adriene defended herself as she folded her arms. "And as much as I do enjoy sex with my boyfriend, that was just a ploy so that we could get our duel disks! Speaking of which, I summon Naturia Horneedle!" Adriene played the card and a new monster appeared on the field, it was a small bumble bee like creature with green leaves around its neck, big adorable brown eyes, a light green head green wings and blue and pink flowers sticking out of its head (4/1800/100).
"That's by far the most adorable monster I've seen come out of your deck." Amanda commented with a grin and indeed the two girls could hear several children cooing from the hotel. "Not that that's saying much."
"Your hardly one to talk, I'm still not sure what to classify half of your monsters as!" Adriene responded jokingly and Amanda laughed nervously as a large sweat-drop rolled down her head. "Anyway, I think it's about time that I drew first blood for our team, Horneedle, attack Adam's life-points directly!" Adriene commanded and the bee flew over to Adam's side of the field before stabbing him with its needle bringing Adam's life-points down to 6200.
"Pity that it doesn't die after stinging someone!" Adam grunted and Adriene frowned.
"That's wasps you're thinking off, besides bees only sting you if you threaten them." Adriene responded before glancing at the Orichalcos. "And with your field spell in play, you're threatening Horneedle, I set one card facedown and end my turn." Adriene announced and Steve drew his card.
"I activate Spellbook inside the Pot but since you seem to know the effect of nearly every card in the game I won't bother explaining the effect!" Steve announced before he went to draw his three cards but stopped when he saw Adriene's facedown card flip up. "What the? Call of the Haunted?"
"Just because this trap card's been around since the game was created doesn't mean that it still doesn't have its uses." Adriene responded before retrieving her monster from the graveyard. "And since I only have one monster in my graveyard I'll use it to bring back Spiderfang!" Adriene added as the small spider returned to the field and Steve scratched his head in confusion before he and Adriene drew their three cards. "Perfect, if this works they are in big trouble!"
"Sorry to cut your comeback short ladies." Steve said with a big grin on his face before he turned the card around revealing it to be Swing of Memories. "But I have a dragon in my graveyard that's about to make a comeback, sure it'll be destroyed during the end phase." Steve added as Darkstorm Dragon returned to the field. "But he's going to take a big chunk of Amanda's life-points with him!"
"Not if I have anything to say about it! I activate Naturia Horneedle's effect!" Adriene interrupted him and Steve turned to her as Spiderfang disappeared from the field again. "When my opponent Special Summons a monster, I can sacrifice one Naturia Monster I control to destroy it!" Adriene added with a smirk and Steve's eyes widened as his Horneedle flew up towards the much bigger dragon and stabbed it in the neck destroying it. "You know, I'm not usually one to give my opponent advice, especially Orichalcos Duelists like yourselves but I'm making an exception here because you guys have made the same amateur mistake since the duel began."
"What are you talking about?" Adam demanded and Adriene grinned.
"Mind if I take this one Adriene?" Amanda chimed in once she got the jist of what Adriene was talking about and she nodded. "Long story short, as pro-league duelists one of the first things we learn after we graduate from whichever academy we were trained at is to not rely on one monster for an entire duel, just as an example my deck has several powerhouses in it and so does Adriene's." Amanda added before grinning broadly. "But you guys have done exactly that!"
"Your full of shit! We played other cards as well." Steve asserted and Adriene shook her head.
"What did we tell you about language?" Adriene asked before shaking her head. "And let's have a look at those monsters, shall we? Luster Dragon Number 2, a decent beatstick for its time but there are a lot of better options these days, Masked Dragon, you're honestly the first dragon duelist I've ever seen attack with that monster Adam increased attack points or not and that's because most duelists see it as little more than a searcher for Dragon decks."
"Do you even have other monsters in your hands?" Amanda asked and the two men started sweating bullets. "It's just a question, no need to be nervous, unless Spellbook inside the Pot and Swing of Memories were literally the only cards you could play!"
"I have other cards I can play." Steve said with a nervous gulp before looking over his hand. "Err, actually, I don't so I end my turn."
"Just as I thought." Amanda commented with a grin as she drew her card. "Why would your boss bother sending two complete amateurs to take out pro-league duelists? What does he do for an encore? Send a mouse in front of a tank and hope that it somehow destroys it?"
"You'll find out soon enough." Adam responded with a frown and Amanda grinned.
"Suit yourself but dodging questions like that will get you nowhere fast." Amanda responded before looking at her card. "And now you're really in trouble! I summon Vylon Pentachloro in attack mode!" Amanda played the card and a new monster appeared on the field, it resembled a Coat of arms and was black and gold in color and was floating like the other Vylon Monsters (4/500/400).
"Is that supposed to scare us?!" Adam asked with a scoff before pointing to Horneedle. "Sure, Frenchie over there summoned a damn bee but at least that has decent attack points, my Masked Dragon could destroy that thing without the use of the Orichalcos."
"Normally I don't summon this thing at all." Amanda responded as she folded her arms. "It's a Union Monster and I normally save it for a combination with Vylon Hept." Amanda explained before her grin broadened. "But I'm aiming a little higher with this move, you see, unlike the other Vylon Monsters Pentachloro is a Machine Type Monster which means I can use it with this Spell Card!" Amanda added before playing the card and seconds later two more copies of her monster appeared on the field. "Machine Duplication!"
"Hah! I'm still not impressed!" Steve scoffed as did Adam but what they didn't seem to notice was the grin on Adriene's face as she knew exactly what Amanda was up too. "You could summon ten of those things and we'd still be in the lead!"
"Were that possible I probably would but since I can only have three of them in my deck and there's only five spaces for a monster I can't." Amanda responded before grinning. "But three is all I need! I use my three monsters to build the Overlay Network!"
"Wait, what?!" Adam yelled out as the portal opened and the three machine type monsters where sucked in. "Your file said nothing about XYZ Monsters."
"Normally I'd ask "what file" but I'll ignore that comment." Amanda responded as she retrieved the monster from her graveyard. "In fact, it's somewhat fitting that I debut this monster in a duel involving Adriene because she was the one that introduced me to it." Amanda said as she glanced over at her tag team partner who nodded in response. "I XYZ Summon Vylon Disigma!" Amanda played the card from the portal emerged a new monster, like the others this one was floating and it was silver and gold in color and it was rather strange looking to say the least (Rank: 4/2500/2100).
"You know, for a monster that required three monsters to XYZ Summon it, I was expecting more." Adam scoffed as he stared at the monster. "But all I see is a Rank 4 Monster with the same stats as the Dark Magician, if you were hoping to impress us, you've failed."
"Looks can be deceiving and trust me, once I get to use this thing to its full potential you'll wish that you never trespassed into the hotel." Amanda responded before playing a card. "But for now, I equip Disigma with Vylon Element, with this he gains six hundred attack points." Amanda added as her monster's attack increased to 3100. "And those 3100 attack points are aimed right at you Adam."
"Now hold on a minute." Adam said with a nervous gulp as he tugged at his collar. "Are you sure we can't talk this out? You seem like a reasonable person!"
"The ship for talking this out has sailed twice already." Amanda responded as her eyes narrowed. "First when you activated the Orichalcos putting several innocent people in danger." Amanda added before she glanced over at the parents who were watching the duel from the hotel. "The second time was when you called my fiend the c-word." Amanda said as she motioned towards Adriene. "I'm sure Adriene's about to say that she can fight her own battles but even so! Disigma, attack Adam's life-points directly!"
"You'll pay this you cu…..." Adam never finished his threat as Vylon Disigma fired a beam of gold light at Adam hitting him square in the chest and bringing his life-points down to 3100.
"You should be thankful that Mischief of the Time Goddess is on the banned list, otherwise I'd finish you off right now." Amanda added as she folded her arms. "I end my turn and you know, normally I'm such a nice person that I'd wish my opponent in getting out of this." Amanda responded as she glared at him. "But you? I won't waste my breath on someone like you."
"Yap, yap, yap, that's all you ladies have been doing since you took control of this duel." Adam responded as he tried to hide how nervous he was. "Why don't you just show the world the one thing that women are good for and invite your boyfriends back down for sex? At least I'd get a good show out of it."
"And with that sentence you've officially dug a hole straight to China." Adriene responded as her eyes narrowed. "Say hi to the Chinese National Champion when you see her, in fact just try saying that sentence to her face and see how well it goes for you."
"Am I missing something?" Adam asked as he scratched the back of his head in confusion.
"The Chinese National Champ is a good friend of ours, she also happens to be an Olympic level Black Belt in Tie-Kwon Do with a very short temper, you wouldn't even finish that sentence before she kicked you in the balls so hard that they end up in your throat." Amanda explained and Adam gulped.
"How do you know she's an Olympic Level Black Belt?" Adam gulped and Adriene grinned.
"She actually competed in the Olympics, got a Bronze Medal if I remember correctly." Adriene responded before smirking. "Anyway, I think it's your turn, unless you have more misogynistic trash you want to throw at us."
"Yeah, yeah, don't rush me!" Adam responded before looking at his hand. "I activate Pot of Greed!"
"You know, normally I'd question how you're using such a broken card." Amanda commented as Adam made his draws. "But then I remembered that you're already using a broken card, namely the Orichalcos, so it's not that far out of the realm of possibility really."
"Oh, shut up already." Adam grunted before looking at his cards. "I summon Spirit Ryu in attack mode!" Adam played the card and the small blue dragon appeared on the field ready for battle (4/1000/1000) and his attack increased to 1500 thanks to the seal.
"Since you just summoned a monster I can Special Summon Naturia Cosmobeet!" Adriene played the card and the small black plant type monster appeared on the field (2/1000/700).
"You just made the damage to your life-points that much higher, you dumb bitch!" Adam said with a scoff and Adriene glared at him. "Spirit Ryu, attack Cosmobeet! And I discard the other card I drew with Pot of Greed to increase his attack points!" Adam announced as Spirit Ryu's attack increased to 2500.
"A decent strategy, but it's not going to work." Amanda said as her trap card flipped up. "I activate Negate Attack!" Amanda added and Spirit Ryu's flames bounced off an invisible field. "Unfortunately for you that was your last chance to finish us off."
"Hah, I'd like to see you try! I set one card facedown and end my turn." Adam announced and Adriene drew her card. "As soon as the French Bitch Attacks Spirit Ryu I'll use Mirror Force to bounce the attack back at her wiping out their monsters! And as soon as I draw my copy of Birthright I'll bring back Darkstorm Dragon and finish them off!"
"If it weren't for the fact that they are Orichalcos Duelists I would've felt sorry for them because of how outclassed they are." Adriene thought before shrugging her shoulders. "Their loss." Adriene thought before turning to Amanda. "Can I borrow Disigma?"
"Go for it!" Amanda nodded in response and Adriene grinned as the fairy floated over to her side of the field. "So, do you want to tell Adam about Disigma's effect, or should I?"
"I'm going to use it so I may as well." Adriene responded with a grin as Amanda detached the overlay unit from Disigma for her. "I activate Disigma's effect! By detaching an overlay unit, we can target one monster you control and equip it to Disigma!"
"Wait, wait?!" Adam asked as Spirit Ryu disappeared from the field. "I still have a facedown card you know!"
"We know, and it's not going to work." Adriene responded before pointing to Cosmobeet and Horneedle. "I tune my two monsters together!" Adriene announced as the two monsters leapt into the air for the Synchro Summon. "And since you seem to be quite fond of Dragon Type Monsters I'll summon one of my own! Naturia Barkion!" Adrienne played the card and her massive brown and white dragon appeared on the field once the bright flash faded (6/2500/1800). "Now then, this duel as seen a Gemini Summon, an XYZ Summon and now a Synchro Summon!" Adriene added before grinning broadly. "So why don't I throw in a Fusion Summon just for the hell of it?"
"Do we get a say in that?" Steve asked with a nervous gulp and Adriene's grin disappeared.
"After the damage your organization caused during Battle City? And after one of your coworkers trapped my soul in the seal?" Adriene asked as her eyes narrowed. "I don't think so, for my normal summon this turn I summon Gale Dogra in attack mode!" Adriene played he card and a small green winged insect appeared on the field glaring at the two opponents (2/650/600). "He doesn't look like much granted, but his effect makes up for it, you see I can pay three thousand life-points to send one monster from my extra deck to the graveyard and I can use it as many times as I want."
"Aren't you forgetting something? Our attacks left you with 5200 life-points so you can only use it once." Adam pointed out and Adriene grinned as she picked up another card. "Why would you even do that in the first place? It makes no sense!"
"It's called "setting myself up for success" and this combo I'm more than willing to pay six thousand life-points if it means beating you idiots into submission." Adriene responded before picking up another card. "You can thank Steve for this, if it weren't for Spellbook inside the Pot this wouldn't have been possible, first I activate Emergency Provisions!"
"You don't even have a spell/trap card to send to the graveyard." Steve pointed out with a grin. "How do you plan to pay for the cost?"
"You're wrong, I do have a Spell Card." Adriene responded before motioning around the scenery with the arm carrying her duel disk. "The Orichalcos may have corrupted it but Naturia Forrest has been in play since my opening move and quite frankly, I'm getting sick of the scenery." Adriene added before retrieving her Field Spell and sending it to the graveyard and sure enough the construction site disappeared leaving only the Orichalcos as Adriene's life-points increased to 6000. "Much better, now, where was I? Oh yes, I pay six thousand life-points to send another Naturia Barkion and Naturia Beast from my extra deck to my graveyard!"
"Err, Adriene, are you sure about this?" Amanda asked with a concerned look on her face as Adriene's life-points dropped to 200. "Steve's turn is right after yours and if he summons anything with eight hundred or more attack points…..." Amanda trailed off and Adriene nodded.
"I know, I've been there before, remember?" Adriene added as she shook her head. "You know what the worst part was? During that whole time my soul was trapped, I was perfectly aware of everything that was going on, the other Orichalcos Duels, what happened during the finals." Adriene said before sighing. "It was a living hell and I'm not going back, which is why I'm going all out with this move! I activate Miracle Synchro Fusion, by banished the two Synchro Monsters I just sent to the graveyard I fusion summon my best monster!"
"Oh, this is going to hurt." Adam winced as the two monsters briefly appeared on the field only to disappear as they were fused together and from the fusion portal emerged Naturia Exterio ready for battle (10/2800/2400).
"Fortunately for you Adam, it'll be quick and painless." Adriene responded before pointing to Disigma. "Vylon Disigma, finish Adam off!" Adriene commanded and the monster started preparing his attack…
"I'm not sure why I'm bothering because you'll just negate it anyway." Adam commented as his Mirror Force Trap Card flipped up and sure enough Adriene removed Cosmobeet and Horneedle from the graveyard causing Barkion to pounce on and destroy the trap card and the attack went through sending Adam's life-points down to zero.
"That's one down, one to go." Adriene commented as Adam lay there motionless, however what neither she or Amanda noticed was the fact that the seal hadn't closed in around Adam at all. "It's your last chance Steve, either surrender or face the full brunt of my monsters' power!"
"Not when I still have moves I can make!" Steve said defiantly before bracing himself as the two beast type monsters launched their attacks bringing his life-points down to 2700. "My turn yet?" Steve asked and Adriene nodded before motioning for him to take his move. "What's the worst that can happen? The only monster she has in the graveyard is Spiderfang and she can't negate another Trap Card!" Steve thought before drawing his card and causing Disigma to return to Amanda. "Sorry babe but you're about to relive that living hell! I activate Swing of Memories!"
"Still going back to Darkstorm Dragon huh? This time you're not getting a chance to summon him!" Adriene responded before retrieving Spiderfang and the top card from her deck. "I activate Exterio's effect! By banishing one monster from my graveyard and sending the top card from my deck to the graveyard I can negate the activation of Swing of Memories and destroy it!" Adriene added before sending her cards to their respective places and Exterio pounced on the Spell Card's hologram destroying it. "Unless you have a move you can make this duel's over!"
"Just take your move!" Steve growled and Amanda drew her card, though everyone present knew that it was a formality.
"I don't have as elaborate a move to make as Adriene did but I will thank her for setting me up for success." Amanda commented before pointing to Disigma. "Disigma, finish it!" Amanda commanded and the fairy fired a beam of light at Steve bringing his life-points down to zero but again the seal didn't close in though Adriene and Amanda were set free as the duel was over. "Adriene, normally I'd welcome an easy win like that, but am I alone in thinking that it was too easy?"
"I was thinking that as well." Adriene commented as she folded her arms. "As much as I hate Otto for putting me through the hell I suffered in Battle City I will admit that he was certainly talented, something seems off here."
"Excuse me?" The two girls looked up to see several kids forming a line in front of them with their parents not far behind. "Can I get your autographs?" The girl that had asked them asked and they grinned before signing their duel disks one at a time.
"You're so cool Adriene!" The last girl in the line said as Adriene signed her duel disk. "I wanna be like you when I grow up!"
"She realizes that I'm only nineteen, right?" Adriene thought as a sweat-drop rolled down her head. "Hell, Amanda isn't that much older than me so if anything, she could say the same to her." Adriene thought before smiling warmly before handing it over. "Keep practicing at Duel Monsters and you too will be the Canadian National Champ!"
"Did you just forget that your standing next to the Canadian National Champion?" Amanda joked and Adriene grinned as the girl ran off to her parents. "Anyway, see? PR Work isn't that hard!"
"Yeah, no, I'm still leaving PR work to my agent until my first defense." Adriene commented as she folded her arms. "I'm still not sure how Dmitri manages it considering that he's been the National Champ of Russia for less time than me!"
"Funny you should mention him!" A new voice rang out from Steve and Adam's direction and the two women turned around seeing the two men standing back up but they had blank looks on their faces and there was no one else around. "I knew you'd crush these fools easily, they were never meant to defeat you!"
"Then why send them in the first place?" Amanda asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I sent them to send you a message." The voice said through Adam's voice and the two women frowned. "You were not the first nor the last, we are targeting other pro-duelists including the Duel Academy students, you will meet us again!" Adam added before the seal closed in on them and whilst there was no scream the two men collapsed as the seal disappeared.
"I wonder." Adriene commented before walking over to Adam and pulling back on his robe. "Hey Amanda, give me a hand here?"
"Sure." Amanda nodded before walking over and removing his robe, what they saw underneath caused them to do a double take. "A construction worker?"
"This is weird, help me check underneath Steve's robes." Adriene responded and the two girls did so, Adriene raised an eyebrow when they saw it. "Market Basket?"
"It's a chain store back in Nova Scotia, Casey works there." Amanda explained as they looked over his uniform. "So, a construction worker and a convenience store employee?" Amanda asked before her eyes widened. "Didn't they say that they had targeted the Duel Academy students?"
"You're right, we'd better call Theresa since we have her Skype Name." Adriene added before the two girls ran into the hotel.
*back at Duel Academy*
"So, that's basically what happened." Amanda finished recapping the events and Theresa nodded with a frown on her face. "Please tell me that no one's been captured by the Orichalcos?"
"I wish I could." Theresa responded with a sigh as she leaned back. "But the truth is three Osiris Red Students have had their souls captured, they were taken back to the main land earlier today so they could get proper treatment but we did avenge them."
"That's something at least." Adriene commented with a sigh as she leaned back in her desk chair. "As Amanda just mentioned, the Tag Team Couple's Tournament just finished and I'm flying back to Paris with my boyfriend first thing tomorrow and Amanda's driving back up to Nova Scotia at some point tomorrow."
"Our check out time is 1:00pm so we'll probably be back home for four o'clock at the latest." Amanda added after thinking for a moment. "What we're getting at is that we don't have any title defenses lined up for a while yet so if you want help with the Orichalcos give us a call."
"At least I hope so considering that I won the title not long after Battle City!" Adriene added as she rubbed the back of her head nervously. "But yeah, if you want our help, you've got it."
"We'll keep that in mind, we can definitely use duelists of your talents, I'll tell the others in the morning because it's pretty late here." Theresa added and the two women nodded in response. "Just one last thing before I go to bed, any serious injuries?"
"I took the most damage thanks to a direct attack but it wasn't much." Adriene responded as she shrugged her shoulders. "I'll live."
"Same here, and if we get similar calls from the others we'll add you to the conversation." Amanda added and Theresa nodded in response. "Well, good night, have a good weekend."
"You too." Theresa responded before they hung up. "Okay, that's the second night in a row I missed the dorm check, I can probably expect an earful from Tracy first thing tomorrow." Theresa thought as she turned off the desktop and got ready for bed. "But two things concern me, the fact that they've started targeting pro-league duelists and the fact that they can now use people puppets apparently, more importantly, who was talking to them through Adam and Steve's mouths?" Theresa thought as she put her nightgown on. "They didn't describe it and to be fair I wouldn't expect them to know who any of the duelists we know about sound like, I can discuss it with the others tomorrow." Theresa thought before going to bed.
