Chelsea opened her eyes and found herself atop Jessica is a scene she quickly recognized as when she assaulted the Obelisk Blue Student but rather than reigning down punches upon the student's head Chelsea was strangling Jessica and no matter how much she wanted too Chelsea couldn't stop.

"Chelsea, stop!" She heard Tracy's voice but by then it was too late as Jessica had stopped breathing, at that point Chelsea had come to her senses but it was far too late as she looked down at the lifeless form of Jessica.

The next few minutes went by in a blur, from Chelsea being found guilty of murder and being sentenced to life in prison to her family disowning her and leaving her to rot in prison, finally it came to ahead as Chelsea prepared a noose made from her bedsheets ready to hang herself in her cell.

And it was then that things went black.

*in the real world*

Chelsea sat up in her bed with a shocked gasp as she awoke from her nightmare, looking around the teenager saw that she was back in her dorm room at the Ra Yellow Girl's Dorm and based on the lack of light it was still nighttime outside.

The lack of light didn't last long as Chloe turned on her bedside lamp and turned to her roommate.

"Chelsea, you okay?" Chloe asked her as she sat up in her bed, Chelsea ran a hand through her hair before nodding in response. "You weren't in a dream duel, right?"

"No, I wasn't, it was just a regular nightmare." Chelsea responded with a sigh as she glanced over at her roommate. "Still, the subject of the nightmare shook me up quite a bit." Chelsea said before glancing over at the alarm clock on her computer desk and seeing that it was three in the morning. "We should get back to sleep, we have a big day tomorrow and I'm not letting you sleep through it."

"You don't want to talk about it?" Chloe asked and Chelsea shook her head. "You don't have to go into detail, just give me the jist of it."

"If it gets you back to sleep faster than fine." Chelsea responded with a sigh as she leaned back in her bed. "One minute I was atop Jessica like I was when I beat the crap out of her yesterday only instead of punching her I was strangling her, by the time Tracy got there it was too late."

"So, you dreamed that you murdered Jessica?" Chloe asked and Chelsea nodded with a frown on her face. "I'm almost afraid to ask but what happened next?"

"It went by pretty quickly but I was sentenced to life in prison and my family disowned me, the last thing I saw before the dream ended was me preparing a makeshift noose so I could hang myself in my cell." Chelsea responded with a shudder as she folded her arms. "Never thought I'd say this but maybe Martin has a point about the shrinks."

"You mean like dream analyses, right?" Chloe asked and Chelsea nodded. "I don't know, I think I read somewhere that that practice was largely discredited by the psychiatric community."

"I think that just goes for most of Sigmund Freud's stuff, not just the dream analyses." Chelsea responded before yawning. "Speaking of dreams, we'd better get back to bed, if I have the same dream again I'm waking up one of the shrinks."

"I think they live on the mainland so good luck with that." Chloe responded with a grin and Chelsea sweat-dropped. "Good night."

"Good night." Chelsea responded before the two girls lay back down in their beds. "Hey Wattchimera, you can view my dreams, right? Thoughts on the nightmare I just had?"

"I wouldn't worry too much about it, it was likely just a bad dream." Wattchimera responded and Chelsea nodded before yawning again. "That said, perhaps you should ask Martin if you can start the sessions earlier."

"That's if I can catch him before the finals." Chelsea responded before going to sleep again.

*the next morning*

It had been a long tournament but now the finals were set as Chloe and Chelsea teamed up to take on Theresa and Brandon but the school was still reeling from the events of the previous day that resulted in an Osiris Red Student being assaulted, two of the Obelisk Blue students responsible for the assault being expelled from school and the third facing an expulsion duel the day after the finals were taking place but the students in the finals couldn't afford to let that distract them.

"So, we're finally here at the finals." Theresa commented as she shuffled through her deck and her boyfriend Brandon was doing likewise, the young couple had spent the night together previously and it showed as Theresa's blazer on the ceiling fan leaving her clad in only the skirt that came with the standard uniform and her bra whilst her hair was lose and messy and Brandon was only wearing t-shirt and trousers. "If it weren't for yesterday's events I'd feel more excited for it but I'm not even sure if Chelsea will be able to duel to the best of her abilities."

"You're talking about her performance during her duel against Miranda, aren't you?" Brandon asked and Theresa nodded in response before putting her deck in her duel disk and glancing around for her blazer. "I wouldn't worry, Chelsea's one of the most persistent duelists we know and I doubt she's going to let almost getting expelled let her down."

"I would like to agree with you but we both saw Chelsea's performance in that duel." Theresa sighed before spying her blazer on the inactive ceiling fan. "How did that get up there? I didn't throw it that hard when you took it off last night."

"Just be glad that it didn't end up in the ensuite again." Brandon sighed before reaching up and grabbing the blazer and handing it to his girlfriend who started to put it on. "You were saying about Chelsea's performance yesterday?"

"Chelsea's been dueling since she was fifteen, right?" Theresa asked as she did up her blazer and started looking for a brush and her hairband. "Yet the moves she made during last night's duel were more akin to someone with Chloe's experience when she first enrolled in the academy, let alone someone with that much experience with a Watt deck."

"Yeah but it's not like it could've been helped." Brandon shrugged as Theresa found what she was looking for and started fixing her hair. "Circumstances aside, facing possible expulsion is a stressful time for any student, Chelsea knows that better than anyone considering that she's been expelled four times since she hit puberty."

"I'm just impressed that her parents were able to convince the fourth school to take her in after the third expulsion, if that was me I think my mom would've thrown her hands up in defeat at that point and started homeschooling me." Theresa responded with a frown as she tied her hair up in a ponytail. "You think it might be something psychological with Chelsea?"

"You're asking the wrong guy and I'm not about to play psychologist with someone with that short a temper." Brandon responded as a large sweat-drop rolled down her head. "But on the other hand, you may be right, most kids would've gotten their act together after the first time at most but four times? Maybe Chelsea needs to visit the psychologists more than she wants to admit it." Brandon sighed and Theresa nodded.

"Your right, we shouldn't be playing psychologist with her, short temper or not." Theresa sighed as she folded her arms. "But if she doesn't clean up her act before she graduates, and that's if she graduates, who's to say that any agent will be willing to take her on?"

"Chelsea's mentioned a couple of times that her dad's a pro-league duelist so he might be able to get her an agent using his connections, beyond that?" Brandon asked before looking at the clock. "We can sit here and speculate about Chelsea all day or we can rush over to the Main Building for the finals." Brandon added and Theresa glanced up at the clock.

"Let's get going." Theresa responded before following her boyfriend out of the dorm room.

*meanwhile*

For most of the student body life had gotten back to normal following the events of the previous day, however for one Osiris Red Student who was still in the med-bay her future at the academy was still up in the air.

"Well, Nicola I do have some good news." The nurse said as she tended to the Autistic Girl's wounds and Nicola glanced up at her with her good eye. "The swelling around your eye is going down faster than I expected, you should be able to duel by next week."

"That's good." Nicola's dad responded and Nicola grinned in response. "Still that doesn't give us any info on when the rest of her injuries will heal."

"I'm afraid that you'd have to go to a hospital on the main land for that." The nurse responded as she turned to him. "I've tended to Nicola's wounds to the best of my abilities but I'm just a school nurse, when I signed up for this job the most I expected to deal with is scraped knees or the aftermath of a fight, nothing to this extent."

"I understand and believe me, we'll be taking her to a hospital the moment we're on the mainland." Nicola's stepmom chimed in with a nod as the nurse finished her work. "Do you mind giving us a few minutes alone with our daughter? We have something important to discuss with her."

"Off course, just call me over if you need me." The nurse responded before walking away from them, once the nurse was out of earshot Nicola let out a sigh.

"Why do I get the feeling that I know exactly what you want to talk about?" Nicola asked as she glanced at her parents.

"Well, we could never get much past you when you were younger." Nicola's dad responded as he shook his head and Nicola grinned. "I suppose we had better get straight to the point, when we signed you up for this school after your performance in Battle City we believed that it was the best place for you, you were already friends with several students including Andreas but after what happened the other night? We're not so sure."

"We are already considering other schools, ones with specialized special needs units." Nicola's stepmom added and Nicola frowned. "But it's ultimately up to you, you'll be turning eighteen in a couple of weeks and we feel that you should have a word in this."

"Mom, dad, I understand why you're worried." Nicola responded as she shifted her weight. "But if I pull out because of this incident then it wouldn't matter if Jessica gets expelled or not, she'd have already won because the mere thought of students from Osiris Red or Ra Yellow being promoted to Obelisk Blue through hard work disgusts her and me pulling out would basically be me admitting defeat." Nicola added before turning to her dad. "And you saw my first duel against Andreas back in Battle City, you know that I'm not one to admit defeat."

"So, you're staying?" Nicola's dad asked and Nicola nodded without hesitation. "It's a good thing that we waited to ask you about it before we contacted those schools, still if the bullying gets to bad then the offer's still on the table."

"It wouldn't matter how bad the bullying got, only way I'm leaving this school is when I graduate." Nicola responded before sighing. "I just wish that I could watch the finals."

"We should get your laptop from your room in that case." Nicola's dad responded before standing up. "I'll be back in time for the finals." He added before walking off.

*a few minutes later at the main duel arena*

The other students had been spending the past few minutes pouring into the main arena for the finals of the tournament and whilst there were some noticeable absences with the seats usually occupied by Jessica, Cameron, Thomas and Nicola being unoccupied for obvious reasons the arena was still packed as they waited for the match to begin.

"Chelsea, before we head out there I need you to reassure me on something." Chloe commented as the two girls approached the doorway that would take them into the main duel arena, the two girls had gotten up early so that they would get to the arena on time. "Are you in the right place mentally?"

"You're talking about everything that happened yesterday, right?" Chelsea asked with a frown on her face and Chloe nodded without hesitation. "If you're worried about my performance in the duel, don't be, between my fear of being expelled for the assault on Jessica and Miranda having more ways of Special Summoning the big guns than I care to count I had a lot on my mind and it affected my performance but now? My mind's clear and I'm ready to kick some ass!"

"You're not even worried about that dream you had last night?" Chloe asked and Chelsea shook her head.

"Why should I? Like I said last night, it was just a regular dream, a fucked up one but just a dream." Chelsea responded with a shrug before glancing down at her deck. "Besides, you have your own problems."

"Right, my duel against Jessica tomorrow." Chloe nodded in response with a frown on her face. "On one hand, I beat Jessica when she was still teaming with Cameron but on the other hand, if she pulls off her Acid Golem combo and I don't draw Owner's Seal or Remove Brainwashing?"

"Well, it's not like those cards are your only counter for Acid Golem." Chelsea responded with a shrug. "If you hadn't drawn XYZ Encore you wouldn't have been able to summon Silent Magician Level 8 and just based on the other cards you played I don't think it would've been possible to pull off a comeback."

"Yeah and XYZ Encore is a Quick-Play Spell Card." Chloe responded with a grin on her face. "So, if she tries to use Onmi-Gammi combo I can chain it and whatever monsters she used to summon Acid Golem would be sitting ducks."

"And I can't think of many level three monsters that have high attack points." Chelsea added before glancing over at the door. "You ready to do this?" Chelsea asked as she motioned towards the door with her head.

"I was born ready." Chloe responded with a grin before the two girls walked off and entered the duel arena.

"Welcome to the final round of the tag team tournament!" Martin announced and the crowd cheered as the two teams made their entrances. "We started this tournament with thirty teams of two from across the three dorms but we are finally down to the final two teams! Introducing team number one, they started in Osiris Red, then got promoted to Ra Yellow and now this underdog team looks set to take the prize home, representing Ra Yellow is Chloe Richardson and Chelsea Cunningham!"

"Wow, tough crowd." Chelsea muttered under her breath as she got booed by certain Obelisk Blue students though they were quickly drowned out by the other cheering students. "How much are you willing to be that they are friends of Cameron, Jessica and Thomas?"

"I'd bet my place in Ra Yellow on it." Chloe nodded in response before they turned to Theresa and Brandon.

"And their opponents, this team were considered early favorites to win the tournament from the beginning and they cemented that fact when they won the Battle Royal and got catapulted to the finals but their opponents are no slouches either, representing Obelisk Blue is Theresa Daniels and Brandon Thomas!" Martin added as the two Obelisk Blue students stepped onto the duel arena and glanced over at their opponents.

"Battle City, the Tag Tournament, it seems we can't avoid facing each other Chloe." Theresa commented as the four duelists activated their duel disks and drew their opening hands. "Only this time, I'm not settling for second place!"

"And I'm not settling for third place!" Chloe responded before sweat-dropping. "Which is kinda redundant since one half of the third-place team was expelled yesterday but you know what I mean!"

"And if everything goes well tomorrow the other half of that team will be expelled too but that's not important right now." Brandon chimed in before turning to Chelsea. "I just hope that you've gotten over your rut from yesterday."

"If I was still in that rut I wouldn't be here." Chelsea responded with a grin on her face before turning to the booth where Martin was. "But enough talk, it's time for action! Martin, give us the orders already!"

"Giving me orders Cunningham? I'm not sure whether to admire your bravery or chastise your stupidity." Martin deadpanned and Chelsea laughed nervously as a large sweat-drop rolled down her head. "The order is up to you but there is one change that is being made that will only affect the finals in future tournaments." Martin added as four proctors entered the arena with briefcases in their hands. "In those briefcases you will find cards, these cards are either extremely rare or forbidden." Martin added as the proctors opened the briefcases confirming what he had said. "And just to make things fair I made sure to tailor each card to your decks, no two briefcases are the same."

"So that's why Martin asked me what deck I was planning to use in this duel earlier." Theresa thought as she looked over the cards. "I'm not usually one to look a gift horse in the mouth but what's the point?"

"I am presenting the four of you with a choice to improve your decks." Martin responded before clearing his throat. "Either you take a maximum of four forbidden cards or four rare cards, once you've made that choice you cannot ask for a do over so think carefully and yes, your duel disks have been remotely configured so that the forbidden cards will be accepted."

"Martin's really pulling all the stops here." Chloe thought as she looked over the cards in the briefcase. "Mirage of Nightmare helped me a lot in Battle City and I'd be lying if I said that my deck wasn't missing Pot of Avarice, Pot of Greed and Monster Reborn's uses speak for themselves but I don't know…..." Chloe thought before locking eyes with four of the rare cards. "Quick question, if we chose the rare cards, we can keep them after the duel, right?"

"If you wish, yes." Martin nodded which helped Chloe make up her mind. "For obvious reasons the same rule doesn't apply to the Forbidden Cards."

"I'm taking four of the rare cards." Chloe decided before taking the four cards and shuffling them into her deck. "Those are the cards Nathan used against me in the fourth round, no way I'm passing this opportunity up."

"I'm choosing the rare cards as well." Chelsea called out as she picked up the rare cards. "The forbidden cards are cool and all but they are a onetime thing, besides getting these cards for free saves me time on E-Bay!"

"I chose to use the forbidden cards." Brandon announced and Theresa nodded to confirm that she was doing the same as they picked their cards. "True, it's a onetime thing but I'm not passing up on this."

"Is that your final answers?" Martin asked and Chelsea barely resisted the urge to make a Who Wants to Be a Millionaire joke before they nodded and the proctors closed the briefcases before walking off.

"As for the orders, how about I go first, then Brandon and then Chelsea and finally Theresa?" Chloe offered and the other duelists nodded before Theresa and Brandon swapped places. "I just hope that I get to use these cards."

"Begin!" Martin announced and Chloe looked over her hand.

"Okay, opening hand isn't that bad, kinda wish Martin had told us about the whole rare cards/forbidden cards thing before we drew our opening hands but I can still work with this!" Chloe thought before picking up three cards. "I set two cards facedown and a monster in defense mode." Chloe announced as the three cards appeared on the field. "That's it for my turn."

"Suit yourself." Brandon responded before drawing his opening card and playing it. "I activate Allure of Darkness, I think you girls have seen this card used enough times to know how it works by now." Brandon announced and once Chloe and Chelsea nodded Brandon drew three cards and pocketed another. "I set two cards facedown and my own monster in defense mode to end my turn." Brandon added but before Chelsea could draw her card Brandon held up the card he had pocketed. "Since I just banished D.D. Scout Plane from my hand I can Special Summon it to the field during my end phase." Brandon explained before playing the card causing the small spaceship to appear on the field (3/800/1200).

"Yeah, yeah, you've used that combo since the tournament started, can I make my move now?" Chelsea responded as she rolled her eyes and Brandon nodded prompting her to draw her card. "Not to sound like a broken record but I'm also setting two cards facedown and a monster in defense mode." Chelsea commented as her three cards appeared on the field. "Your move Theresa."

"Well, this has easily been the least eventful first round of the whole tournament." Theresa deadpanned as she drew her card. "And to change things up a bit, I activate Reinforcement of the Army! Chloe, you're a warrior user, you should know what this card does."

"And here's a card you should be familiar with! I chain my trap card Beckoning Light!" Chelsea responded before discarding the rest of her hand and drawing three new cards whilst Theresa added the monster from her deck to her hand. "Good, I have two of the rare cards in my hand, now to find a way to use them."

"If Chelsea had Electromagnetic Turtle in her hand she just wasted her trap because that monster's effect requires that it ends a battle phase on the turn its sent to the graveyard." Theresa thought before shaking her head. "Temper issues aside, Chelsea's in Ra Yellow for a reason so she wouldn't waste a good card like that, speaking of cards." Theresa thought before picking up the card she had drawn and two others. "I set two cards facedown and for a change of pace I'm summoning Gaia, the Polar Knight in attack mode!"

"Well, that confirms that she's using the deck we saw her use against Drew earlier this week." Chloe thought as the jet-black knight atop white horse appeared on the field (4/1600/1200).

"I activate Gaia's effect, by sacrificing one Dark Type Monster I control I can add one Light Type Warrior Type Monster from my deck to my hand, since we're sharing a field I'll sacrifice D.D. Scout Plane." Theresa added as the small plane disappeared from the field and Theresa started inputting commands into her duel disk and adding the card to her hand. "That ends my turn." Theresa announced and Chloe drew her card.

"It would be a good idea to try to get rid of Theresa's knight, especially since it's the only monster on the field in attack mode." Chloe thought before looking over her hand and frowning. "But my strongest monster is Familiar Knight and I set him last turn, but this Spell Card can help." Chloe thought before playing the card. "I activate Dark Magic Circle!"

"Well, I guess we know what rare cards Chloe went with." Brandon thought as Chloe picked up the three cards from the top of her deck and looked over them. "But at the same time, she's running a major risk, she can only add one Dark Magician Spell/Trap Card to her hand and unless she can draw into one of those cards she would've wasted her choice."

"Okay, I know what I'm going to do, it's risky but if I can pull off this combo I'll be in the driver's seat." Chloe thought before adding a card to her hand and swapping the other two around and placing them atop her deck. "I end my turn."

"She didn't summon a monster? What's she planning exactly?" Brandon thought as he drew his card. "She didn't panic so she probably does have monsters that she can play but why didn't she summon anything?" Brandon thought before looking at his drawn card. "Well, if that was a mistake, I'm about to make her pay for it." Brandon thought before playing a card. "Bet you thought you were done with Tribute Summons after your last duel, right? Wrong, I tribute my facedown monster to summon Caius, the Shadow Monarch!" Brandon played the card and as like he said the facedown monster disappeared from the field to make way for the dark monarch (6/2400/1200). "And now I activate his effect!"

"I don't think so Brandon! I discard Effect Veilier from my hand to negate Caius's effect!" Chloe announced as she discarded the weak tuner monster causing the monarch to double over in pain.

"You may have negated Caius's effect but here's one effect you can't negate." Brandon responded as he held up the monster he had just tribute revealing it to be Sangan. "You have no idea how long I've waited to use this monster again and now that its legal again I'll use his effect!"

"And I can think off several nasty monsters in his deck that he can search out with Sangan just off the top of my head." Chloe thought with a frown as Brandon inputted the commands into his duel disk. "Battle Fader to negate attacks, that monster he won the second duel of the tournament with, any light type monsters, the list goes on."

"However, since I've already used my normal summon you don't have to worry about that monster just yet." Brandon added before he added the card to his hand and let his deck auto-shuffle. "What you should worry about is Caius! Caius, attack her facedown monster!" Brandon commanded and the monarch launched his ball of dark energy at Chloe's Familiar Knight destroying it. "Okay, I guess I was wrong about you not needing to worry about my monster."

"It was either this or set a monster that would've left me a sitting duck for another attack." Chloe responded before playing a card. "Ladies first and all that, I use my knight's effect to Special Summon Clear Effector in defense mode!" Chloe announced as the young, brunette spellcaster appeared on the field crouching down (2/0/900).

"I'm still impressed that you were able to find a monster with longer hair than you." Brandon commented getting a laugh out of Chloe. "But I could stand here and joke all day or I could summon the light counterpart to Theresa's knight, I summon Gaia, the Mid-Knight Sun!" Brandon announced as he played the card causing the white knight on the black horse to appear on the field (4/1600/1200). "And before you ask, yes this was the monster I just retrieved with Sangan!"

"Don't forget about us guys." Chelsea chimed in before playing a card. "I use Familiar Knight's effect to Special Summon Wattcobra!" Chelsea played the card causing the multi-colored snake that was a staple of her duels by this point to appear on the field (4/1000/500).

"I use Familiar Knight's effect to summon another knight, Beginning Knight that is!" Theresa played the card and the young version of Black Luster Soldier appeared on the field (4/500/2000). "And like Chloe, I'm summoning my monster in defense mode." Theresa added as her knight crouched down.

"Great, thanks to my move Theresa has two monsters that she can easily summon Black Luster Soldier with." Chloe thought with a frown as she glanced over at Theresa's monster. "Even worse is the fact that any Black Luster Soldier ritual summoned with that thing becomes Envoy of the Beginning and me and Chelsea had enough problems with that thing when we dueled Donny and Drake!"

"Unless anyone has another move to do I want to continue my Battle Phase." Brandon chimed in and once the three women shook their heads Brandon pointed to Wattcobra. "Gaia, the Mid-Night Sun, attack Wattcobra!" Brandon commanded and the knight charged towards the cobra.

"Guess again Brandon, I activate my Silver Dollar Trap Card!" Chelsea announced as her trap card flipped up. "Since you just attacked a monster with a thousand or less attack points my monster won't be destroyed by battle and I take no damage." Chelsea added as the cobra withstood the knight's lance attack forcing the knight to back off.

"Fine but I'm about to make you wish you had waited on that! I move to my second main phase and I activate one of Mid-Knight Sun's effect, by banishing one Dark-Type Monster from my graveyard I can reduce one monster's attack points by five hundred." Brandon explained before pocketing the monster causing Wattcobra's attack to drop to five hundred. "And somehow I doubt you were lucky enough to draw two Silver Dollars."

"If I was that lucky I would've gone to Vegas by now." Chelsea admitted with a nervous grin on her face. "Just relax and don't let your nerves get the better of you Chelsea, this isn't like your duel against Miranda yesterday, there are actual stakes to this match!"

"I set one card facedown and end my turn, but not before the return of an old friend." Brandon announced as D.D. Scout Plane returned to the field.

"Didn't see that coming." Chelsea muttered sarcastically under her breath before she drew her card. "Let's hope my combo works on Theresa's turn, for all I know one of the forbidden cards she took was Heavy Storm!" Chelsea thought before looking at her drawn card. "I activate Spellbook inside the Pot!" Chelsea announced as she played the card and all four duelists drew three cards. "I set two cards facedown." Chelsea announced as her facedown card appeared on the field. "And I think it's time that I drew first blood! Wattcobra, attack Brandon's life-points directly!" Chelsea commanded and the cobra leapt over Caius and Mid-Knight Sun before biting Brandon in the arm bringing his life-points down to 7500. "Not as much damage as I would've liked but I still get to use Wattcobra's effect!"

"You would've been better off moving your cobra into defense mode." Theresa pointed out as Chelsea inputted commands into her duel disk. "All it'll take is one attack from Caius and you'll lose a lot more than five hundred life-points and that mistake will come back to bite you, no pun intended."

"Who said anything about this being a mistake?" Chelsea asked confidently and Theresa frowned. "Anyway, I end my turn." Chelsea announced and Theresa drew her card.

"Either she's developed a talent for bluffing since her duel against Miranda yesterday or she's made a mistake and is too stubborn to admit it, knowing her both outcomes are possible." Theresa thought before looking at her drawn card. "I activate my own Allure of Darkness." Theresa announced before drawing her three cards and banishing a third. "I'll save these for later." Theresa thought before turning to Brandon. "Can I borrow Caius?"

"Go for it." Brandon nodded as Caius made his way over to her side of the field.

"For my normal summon, I bring out Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands!" Theresa played the card and the multi-armed fairy type monster appeared on the field (4/1400/1000). "And this activates his effect allowing me to add one Ritual Spell Card from my deck to my hand!"

"And we've both seen this deck in action before so we have a good idea of what's coming next!" Chloe responded with a nervous gulp and Chelsea returned the favor as Theresa searched through her deck.

"Count yourself lucky that I don't have any Black Luster Soldier Ritual Monsters in my hand." Theresa responded as she retrieved the card and her deck auto-shuffled. "But what I do have is three monsters that are more powerful than yours, Manju, attack Wattcobra!" Theresa commanded and the fairy launched itself at Chelsea's monster….

"Not on my watch! I activate my Trap Card Interdimensional Matter Transporter!" Chelsea responded and Wattcobra vanished from the field just before Manju's attack hit. "And what's even better is the fact that when Wattcobra comes back he'll be back at full strength!"

"True enough but your facedown monster isn't looking too good." Theresa responded as Manju turned his attention to Chelsea's other monster, revealed to be Wattdragonfly, which was quickly destroyed when Manju slapped it with each of his hands in rapid succession.

"Did my monster just get bitch slapped to death?!" Chelsea asked as a massive sweat-drop rolled down her head and Theresa shook her head.

"To be fair, I doubt the guys who designed the original duel disks ever expected anyone to attack with Manju so they probably just gave him the ridiculous attack animation on purpose." Theresa responded with a shrug and Chelsea quickly started inputting commands into her duel disk.

"I use Wattdragonfly's effect to Special Summon Wattcanine." Chelsea announced as the multi-colored dog appeared on the field (4/1500/500) and it growled at Theresa's monsters. "Down boy, you'll get a chance to take them out in a second."

"I don't see how since Polar Knight is stronger." Theresa responded with a grin but the grin disappeared once Chelsea's facedown card flipped up. "Judgment of Thunder, can't say I'm surprised."

"Yep and I'm using this Trap Card to take out the biggest dog in the yard, namely Caius!" Chelsea responded as lightning struck the monarch destroying him.

"Well played but you forgot one thing." Theresa responded as she folded her arms. "Polar Knight hasn't attacked yet, Polar Knight, attack Wattcanine!" Theresa commanded and the knight charged into battle against Chelsea's monster…...

"And I banish A/D Changer from my graveyard to force him into defense mode!" Chelsea responded as she retrieved the monster from her graveyard and pocketed it causing the strange warrior to appear on the field and hold up the red flag causing the knight to back down. "I was hoping to use that combo on one of her Black Luster Soldier monsters but I took out one of Brandon's heaviest hitters and that's what matters."

"I end my turn." Theresa announced as Wattcobra returned to the field and Chloe drew her card.

"Well if there was any worry about Chelsea still being in her rut she just threw it out the window." Chloe thought as she glanced up at her roommate. "At least Chelsea was able to keep Theresa's attention on her." Chloe thought before playing a card. "I summon Magical Exemplar!" Chloe played the card and the dark haired, green robed sorceress appeared on the field (4/1700/1400). "Next I activate Illusion Magic! With this card, I send Clear Effector to the graveyard in exchange for adding up to two Dark Magician cards to my hand, however I only need one."

"If there was any doubt about what cards she selected for her briefcase, it's gone now." Brandon thought as the young Spellcaster vanished from the field and once Chloe inputted he commands into her duel disk she retrieved the card. "But she's used this combo, or some variant of it, enough times for me to know what's next." Brandon thought as the two green orbs appeared around Magical Exemplar.

"Next, I activate Exemplar's effect, by giving up one of the Spell Counters I can bring back Effect Veiler!" Chloe announced as she played the card and the young, green haired spellcaster appeared on the field (1/0/0). "Finally, I activate Limit Reverse to bring back Clear Effector!" Chloe activated her trap causing the other young spellcaster to return to the field. "I guess there's no point in prolonging this, I tune Effect Veiler with Magical Exemplar and Clear Effector!" Chloe announced as the three female spellcasters leapt into the air for the Synchro Summon and once the bright flash faded Arcanite Magician appeared on the field ready for battle (7/400/1800). "Arcanite Magician gains his two Spell Counters and thanks to Clear Effector I get to draw another card and he can't be destroyed by card effects." Chloe added as her Magician's attack points went up to 2400 and she drew a card.

"Evan used a similar combo during his last tournament duel and if she drew into Miracle Synchro Fusion we're in deep trouble." Brandon thought as he looked at the magician. "Not being able to destroy that magician will make getting rid of it a bit harder and Chloe's smart enough to not throw away the Spell Counters just to destroy a few monsters."

"Next I activate Magic Planter!" Chloe announced as the hologram for Limit Reverse shattered. "Since Limit Reverse has done its job and would've taken up field space otherwise I can use this Spell Card to destroy it and draw two cards."

"Err, Chloe are you sure about this?" Chelsea chimed in as her partner drew her cards and sent the two cards to the graveyard. "Because I'm getting serious Battle Royal flashbacks here."

"Relax Chelsea, I know what I'm doing." Chloe responded as she turned to her roommate. "I've only used a couple of draw cards so far and unlike the Battle Royal I don't have a dead hand."

"If you say so." Chelsea shrugged her shoulders allowing Chloe to return to her move. "Just keep in mind that there won't be any second chances here, unless you count the graduation duels on Friday, if you deck out then I'll be on my own and unlike you I don't have anything like Diffusion Wave Motion in my deck, largely because I don't run Spellcasters but still."

"We've gotten this far, haven't we?" Chloe asserted and Chelsea frowned. "Besides, we're partners, we shouldn't be arguing like this!"

"Agreed, I was just giving you my two cents." Chelsea responded with a nod and Chloe grinned.

"Okay, back to my move." Chloe commented before looking over her two cards. "I didn't draw into Miracle Synchro Fusion like I was hoping to but these cards are still useful." Chloe thought before picking up the two cards that she had just drawn and setting them. "I set two cards facedown, now Arcanite Magician, attack Manju!" Chloe commanded and the magician fired a beam of white light at the fairy destroying it and bringing Theresa's life-points down to 7000. "So much for any plans you had for a ritual summon!"

"You may have destroyed Manju but I still have my other monsters on the field." Theresa responded as she sent the monster to the graveyard. "Off course, you could use Arcanite Magician's effect to destroy Beginning Knight and Polar Knight!"

"If I had Miracle Synchro Fusion in my hand I would be since I don't, using Arcanite Magician's effect would leave it a sitting duck for Brandon's monsters." Chloe thought as she glanced over at Brandon. "Not going to happen, at least not without a certain card in my hand, I end my turn." Chloe announced and Brandon drew his card.

"I bet my trust fund that the "certain card" she's talking about is Miracle Synchro Fusion." Brandon thought with a frown as he looked over his hand. "As it stands, I don't have anything that could counter that or any other Spell Card she uses, same goes for Chelsea, but Chloe isn't the only one who can draw outside of their draw phase." Brandon thought before motioning to his facedown card and activating it. "I activate Dark Spirit Art – Greed, unless you girls have a Spell Card to reveal in your hands I'm sacrificing D.D. Scout Plane to draw two cards."

"I used up the last of my Spell Cards in my hand last turn." Chloe responded as she shook her head and turned to Chelsea. "What about you Chelsea?"

"You're in luck, I don't have any Spell Cards in my hand either." Chelsea responded and Brandon nodded as D.D. Scout Plane vanished from the field and he drew his cards. "Shame too because if you ask my dad, you rich folk have too much money as it is!"

"Good thing I never asked your dad about that." Brandon responded as he sent his trap card to the graveyard. "But just for that remark, I'll attack Wattcobra with Polar Knight!" Brandon commanded and the knight charged towards the cobra…

"I activate my Trap Card Magician Navigation!" Chloe activated the trap and Brandon's eyes widened when he heard that and Chloe started inputting commands into her duel disk as fast as she could. "Using this Trap Card, I can Special Summon One Dark Magician from my hand and one from my deck so come on out!" Chloe called out as she played the cards and sure enough two copies of the legendary magician appeared on the field ready for battle (7/2500/2100).

"Yesterday I was in a duel with someone with someone who two Blue-Eyes White Dragons, today I'm in a duel with someone who has two Dark Magicians." Chelsea thought as she glanced over at her partner. "Yep, definitely glad that Chloe's on my side!" Chelsea thought as Dark Magical Circle started glowing.

"And thanks to that I can activate the second effect of Dark Magical Circle allowing me to banish one card on the field." Chloe continued before pointing to Polar Knight. "And my target is Polar Knight!" Chloe added as the knight vanished from the field in an instant right before his lance connected with Wattcobra.

"Well played but just because you have three powerful monsters on your side of the field doesn't guarantee you success, just look at how well that ended for Thomas." Brandon responded before picking up the two cards he had drawn with Dark Spirit Art Greed. "I set one card facedown and a monster in defense mode to end my turn."

"This is so perfect! With Chloe's magicians on the field and my Watt Monsters doing their thing we'll have this match in the bag!" Chelsea thought with a big grin on her face as she drew her card. "Her Chloe, can I borrow your magicians?"

"Like you needed to ask!" Chloe responded with a grin on her face and Chelsea grinned as the three magicians made their way to Chelsea's side of the field. "Just an idea but maybe use Arcanite Magician's effect to destroy Beginning Knight first?"

"I'm usually opposed to backseat dueling but I'm guessing that you've got a plan in mind." Chelsea responded and Chloe nodded. "Sounds good to me! I activate Arcanite Magician's effect!" Chelsea added as Arcanite Magician's attack dropped to 1400 and he pointed his staff at Beginning Knight destroying him with a beam of white light. "That just leaves your facedown monster Brandon, Arcanite Magician, attack!" Chelsea commanded and the magician pointed his staff at Brandon's facedown monster, revealed to be Dark Crusader, which was quickly destroyed. "Dark Magician, attack Brandon's life-points directly with Dark Magic Attack!" Chloe commanded and the two magicians prepared their attacks…...

"Whilst we're talking about trips down memory lane, here's one of my own!" Brandon responded as his trap card flipped up. "I activate Fortress of Dark Illusion, since you destroyed a Dark Type Monster this turn this trap card allows me to end the battle phase in exchange for banishing one Dark Type Monster from my graveyard." Brandon added before pocketing D.D. Scout Plane again and the two magicians called off their attacks.

"You've saved yourself this time but like it or not we have a grand prize with our names on it!" Chelsea responded before looking over her hand. "That's it for me."

"I wouldn't be so sure of that." Theresa responded as D.D. Scout Plane returned to the field and she drew her card. "Not a lot I can do here but I can defend." Theresa thought before switching her knight to defense mode. "I switch my knight to defense mode and set a monster in defense mode." Theresa announced as the card appeared on the field. "Your move Chloe."

"I was expecting her to attack Arcanite Magician, guess she's worried about my facedown card." Chloe thought as she drew her card and looked at it. "First I activate my facedown card Pitch Black Power Stone!" Chloe activated her trap and Arcanite Magician glowed as his attack points rose to 2400. "As you can see I've used this card's effect to transfer a Spell Counter to Arcanite Magician but that's not all I'm doing." Chloe added before playing a card. "I activate Dark Magic Attack! Since I have a Dark Magician on my side of the field I can use this to wipe out your Spell/Trap Cards!"

"That's going to be a problem." Brandon responded as Dark Magician fired off its famous attack destroying Brandon's remaining facedown card (Escape from the Dark Dimension) as well as Theresa's two facedown cards (Miracle's Wake and Call of the Haunted),

"The problems are only just starting for you guys!" Chloe responded before playing a card. "I summon Gemini Elf!" Chloe played the card and the twin elves appeared on the field (4/1900/900). "Gemini Elf, attack D.D. Scout Plane!" Chloe commanded and the twin elves fired off their attacks destroying the plane, Chloe then took a deep breath before pointing to Brandon. "Arcanite Magician, attack his life-points directly!" Chloe commanded and the magician fired off their attack bringing Brandon's life-points down 5100. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to say this."

"We were there when Otto destroyed your original deck Chloe, we know." Theresa responded and Chloe grinned at that.

"Dark Magician, Dark Magic Attack!" Chloe commanded and the two magicians fired off their attacks at Brandon sending his life-points plummeting down to 100. "Chelsea won't even need my monsters to finish you off!"

"Who said that she's getting a chance?" Brandon asked as he held up a card. "Since you just attacked my life-points directly I can Special Summon Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness!" Brandon played the card and the dark warrior appeared on the field in attack mode (7/2700/2500). "And since I summoned him after I took battle damage I can special summon an Emissary of Darkness token." Brandon added as the token appeared next to its master (7/2500/2100).

"Your monsters may be stronger than mine but your almost out of life-points and like I said, it won't take much for Chelsea to finish you off!" Chloe responded before looking at her hand. "I end my turn." Chloe announced and Brandon drew his card.

"She's got a point, unless I can draw something good we may as well give them the prize now." Brandon thought before looking at his drawn card. "Well, I was wondering when I'd get to use one of the forbidden cards, I activate Pot of Avarice!" Brandon played the card before taking Sangan, Caius, Dark Crusader, D.D. Scout Plane and Polar Knight and shuffling them into his deck before drawing two cards. "I set two cards facedown, now Gorz and my token, attack Wattcobra and Wattcanine!" Brandon commanded and the two monsters cut the weaker monsters in two bringing Chelsea's life-points down to 6300.

"Compared to the damage you just took, that was nothing." Chelsea responded before her trap card flipped up. "Especially since I have Damage Condenser! I could use this to summon Wattaildragon but instead I'll summon Wattcentaur!" Chelsea added as the multi-colored centaur appeared on the field (6/2400/1200). "And he likes being the centaur of attention as you'll find out when my turn begins."

"Chelsea, I've heard better puns from my dad and he thinks dad jokes are the height of comedy!" Brandon deadpanned before folding his arms. "Just take your turn!" Brandon added and Chelsea drew her card.

"I'd better finish off Brandon before he can attack with either of his monsters, and thanks to Chloe's attacks I don't have to do much." Chelsea thought before pointing to Wattcentaur. "I activate Wattcentaur's effect, by cutting his attack points in half I can have him bypass your monsters and attack you directly!" Chelsea announced as Wattcentaur's attack dropped to 1200. "But then again, I don't need much to beat you Brandon! Wattcentaur, finish him!" Chelsea commanded and the centaur charged into battle….

"Did you really think that I'd be beaten off that easily?" Brandon asked before immediately face-palming. "I meant beaten! But in any case, I negate Wattcentaur's attack by summoning Battle Fader!" Brandon played the played the card and the tiny, clock like fiend appeared on the field stopping the attack. "And unless you have another move to make then we are still in this!"

"I end my turn." Chelsea grunted in annoyance as Wattcentaur's attack points returned to normal and Theresa drew her card.

"Well, Brandon's used one of his forbidden cards and its time I used mine, I activate Pot of Greed!" Theresa played the infamous Spell Card and quickly drew two cards, when she saw the two cards in question her grin widened. "You girls have brought out your big guns and now it's my turn, first I activate the Warrior Returning Alive which I use to return Beginning Knight to my hand." Theresa added as she played the card and retrieved her monster from the graveyard. "And now I activate a Spell Card that you should be familiar with, Super Soldier Ritual!"

"Crap, that can only mean one thing." Chloe gulped as Beginning Knight and another copy of Polar Knight appeared on the field briefly only to disappear and in their place stood Black Luster Soldier - Super Soldier (8/3000/2500).

"That's right and this monster is pretty powerful in his own right since you'll take damage equal to your monster's attack points in the graveyard when they are destroyed." Theresa responded before grinning broadly. "But combined with Beginning Knight's effect giving him the abilities of Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning? He's almost unstoppable! Black Luster Soldier, attack Wattcentaur and Arcanite Magician!" Theresa commanded and the soldier charged into battle first cutting Wattcentaur down the middle reducing Chelsea's life-points to 3300 and Chloe's life-points down to 7300. "You've fought well girls but face it, you've lost!"

"Theresa, how long have you known me?" Chloe asked and Theresa blinked in confusion. "I'll answer that for you, long enough to know that I won't quit as long as I have life-points left and at this point? I still have most of my life-points!"

"We'll see how long that lasts." Theresa responded with a nod before looking at her hand. "That ends my turn." Theresa announced and Chloe drew her card.

"It's not a total loss, I mean sure, Theresa has one of the best monsters in her Black Luster Soldier deck on the field but Brandon's still down to 100 life-points, all I need to do is summon Silent Magician Level 8 and he'll be eliminated." Chloe thought before looking at her hand. "I activate White Elephant's Gift! I send Gemini Elf to the graveyard so that I can draw two cards!" Chloe announced as she played the card and the twin elves disappeared from the field and she drew two cards. "Well I drew into Silent Magician Level 4 but without Level Up she won't be of much use and as much as I love my Dark Magicians they are a liability if Theresa's soldier is on the field, there's also this Trap Card but I don't know if Theresa or Brandon have Mystical Space Typhoon set!" Chloe thought before she remembered something. "Anyone mind if I quickly check my extra deck?"

"Go for it." Theresa nodded in response and Brandon did likewise prompting Chloe to get her extra deck out.

"Okay, Colossal Fighter, don't have any means of bringing back Effect Veiler because otherwise he'd be perfect for this duel, a bunch of Synchros that I haven't used in ages, couple of XYZ Monsters…..." Chloe trailed off before her eyes fixated on the last XYZ Monster. "I knew there was an XYZ Monster that I added alongside the rare cards! Well, it's now or never!" Chloe thought before motioning to the two magicians. "I use my Magicians to build the overlay network!"

"Wait, what?!" Brandon asked with a look of genuine shock on his face as the two magicians were sucked into the portal. "Since when did you have access to Rank 7 XYZ Monsters?"

"Since right before this duel!" Chloe responded before retrieving the monster from her extra deck. "I XYZ Summon Ebon High Magician in defense mode!" Chloe played the card and from the portal emerged a magician with clothes like Dark Magician's iconic outfit which with light purple in color and was wielding a purple staff (Rank: 7/2300/2800), as soon as the monster appeared on the field it crouched down and Brandon raised an eyebrow.

"Well, I'll give you credit for summoning a monster that my monsters can't attack over Chloe." Brandon admitted as he scratched his head. "But all I'd need to do is ask Theresa if I can borrow her soldier and you'll use a chunk of your life-points."

"That's what he thinks." Chloe thought as she glanced at the trap card in her hand. "I end my turn at that." Chloe announced and Brandon drew his card.

"She's planning something, why else would she risk everything on a XYZ Monster that's weaker than our best monster? Especially since the two magicians she used to summon it were stronger?" Brandon thought as he looked over his hand. "If she had set a trap card I could destroy it with the Mystical Space Typhoon I just drew but if she wants to lose this badly I'll be happy to help." Brandon thought before turning to Theresa. "Can I borrow Black Luster Soldier – Super Soldier?"

"Go ahead." Theresa responded with a nod as her soldier made his way to Brandon's side of the field. "There has to be something more to Chloe's monster, I can't think of many Rank 7 XYZ Monsters that have no effects or useless effects!"

"Black Luster Soldier – Super Soldier, attack Ebon High Magician!" Brandon commanded and the soldier charged into battle…...

"I activate Ebon High Magician's effect!" Chloe interrupted him before detaching an overlay unit from Ebon High Magician. "While my monster has XYZ Material attached I can detach one of the overlay units to allow me to activate a Quick Play Spell/Trap Card from my hand during my opponents turn." Chloe added as she quickly played the card. "And what a card it is! I activate Mirror Force!"

"WHAT?!" Theresa and Brandon yelled out simultaneously as Black Luster Soldier – Super Soldier's sword collided against an invisible force field destroying him on impact and sending beams of light towards Gorz and the Emissary of Darkness Token destroying them both.

"Huh, I actually managed to catch them off guard, who knew?" Chloe thought as she took a deep breath. "And since Super Soldier was destroyed by a card effect your fields are wide open to a direct attack from either of our monsters." Chloe said before glancing over at Brandon. "And since you only have one hundred life-points left that means that we're about to win!" Chloe added before noticing that Theresa and Brandon were chuckling.

"Well played Chloe, you've definitely come a long way." Brandon said with a grin before glancing over at Theresa who nodded at him. "But now the real duel begins!"

"Wait, what?" Chelsea asked with a look of confusion on her face which was shared by Chloe. "What do you mean "real duel"? You've given us the fight of our lives since the duel began!"

"What he means is that we haven't been using our decks to their full capability so far." Theresa chimed in with a grin on her face. "And I'm not usually one to admit to being outsmarted but the fact that you've outsmarted us means you're more than up for the challenge."

"Err, Silent Magician, they are bluffing, right?" Chloe asked her Duel Spirit Guide.

"I'm afraid not." Silent Magician responded and Chloe gulped.

"I set one card facedown and end my turn." Brandon set the card down and Chelsea drew her card.

"Okay, Chloe got rid of Brandon's best monsters through her XYZ Monster and whilst it's not the strongest XYZ Monster I've seen it's still got more than enough attack points to finish off Brandon and as good as Theresa is, there's no way she can us both on, right?" Chelsea thought before looking at her drawn card and playing it almost immediately. "I activate Gift from Zeus, now I shuffle Wattcanine, Wattcentaur and Wattcobra back into my deck and draw two cards." Chelsea added before she shuffled the three cards into the deck and drew her cards.

"Draw anything good?" Theresa asked and Chelsea grinned.

"You could say that." Chelsea responded as she looked at the two cards. "I just drew two of the rare cards I got in the briefcase, bit late now because we've got this in the bag but it doesn't hurt to have a back-up plan." Chelsea thought before setting the two cards. "I set two cards facedown, Chloe can you switch your monster to attack mode and can I borrow Ebon High Magician?"

"Sure, and knock yourself out." Chloe responded as the magician made his way over to Chelsea's side of the field.

"Well Brandon, it's a shame that you only started taking this duel seriously after we've secured our win." Chelsea commented as Chloe switched the monster to attack mode. "But we've got a prize to win so I'm not complaining, Ebon High Magician, finish him!" Chelsea commanded and the magician pointed his staff at Brandon before firing a beam of dark light at him hitting him square in the chest. "One down, one to go, her Chloe, what do you think you'll use the prize money on?"

"I wouldn't celebrate so soon Chelsea." Brandon responded as he got back to his feet and Chelsea looked up and saw that not only were his holograms active but he had activated his trap card. "In fact, I've just taken a page out of your book!"

"What?" Chelsea asked before she got a good look at the trap card. "Rainbow Life?!"

"That's right, instead of losing the duel I just got a big boost thanks to your attack." Brandon added as he held up his duel disk to show that his life-points were now at 2400. "Nice try though."

"Fine, you brought yourself a turn at most and as soon as I can summon another Watt Monster I'll finish what I started this turn." Chelsea responded before nodding to Theresa. "I end my turn." Chelsea announced and Theresa drew her card.

"I activate Spellbook inside the Pot." Theresa announced and the four duelists drew three cards. "Perfect!" Theresa thought before turning to her opponents. "Up until now you've only been facing pale imitations of Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning, well, it's like the old saying goes." Theresa added before retrieving two of her cards from the graveyard. "You can't beat the original!"

"We did, we beat that monster in our first match…..." Chelsea trailed off as the realization hit her. "Shit!"

"That word does sum up your situation right now, doesn't it? I banish Beginning Knight and Polar Knight to special summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning!" Theresa played the card and sure enough the infamous warrior type monster appeared on the field ready for battle (8/3000/2500). "And just so you don't get any ideas with that Spell Card of yours Chloe, I activate Mystical Space Typhoon and I use it to destroy Dark Magical Circle!" Theresa announced as the storm washed over the field…

"Not on my watch!" Chloe responded as she retrieved a card from her graveyard. "Remember Magician Navigation? Well it has another effect, if it's in the graveyard I can banish it to target one face-up Spell Card and negate it!" Chloe explained as the storm subsided just as quickly as it hit the field and she pocketed her trap card. "I was hoping to use that card on one of Theresa's Ritual Spell Cards but I'll make do." Chloe thought as Theresa sent her Spell to the graveyard.

"You may have stopped the storm but let's see if you can stop a monster that can hit as hard as a storm!" Theresa responded before pointing to Ebon High Magician. "Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, finish what Super Soldier started and attack Ebon High Magician!" Theresa commanded and the soldier charged into battle before cutting Ebon High Magician in two and bringing Chloe's life-points down to 6300. "And as you should know from my other Black Luster Soldier monsters, he's getting a second attack."

"I knew I should've grabbed a third Dark Magician! If I had I could've used Ebon High Magician's other effect." Chloe thought with a frown before the soldier slashed her at the waist bringing her life-points down to 3300. "Is that the best you've got?"

"Oh, trust me, you don't want my best." Theresa responded with a grin before looking at her drawn card. "I'll save this for later." Theresa decided before nodding to Chloe. "It's your move."

"Unless I draw the right card this will be my last move." Chloe thought as she went to draw her card. "My best bet right now is Silent Magician, either level eight or that monster I got recently, well, here goes." Chloe thought before drawing her card. "I activate Silent Doom to bring back Dark Magician in defense mode!" Chloe played the card and the iconic magician returned to the field. "This activates Dark Magical Circle's effect and I'm using it to destroy Envoy of the Beginning!"

"Well, that was good whilst it lasted." Brandon commented as Black Luster Soldier vanished from the field.

"Yep but I'm not done!" Chloe said as Dark Magician vanished from the field. "I tribute Dark Magician to summon Silent Magician!"

"I was wondering when that monster was going to show up again." Theresa commented as the teenaged magician appeared on the field (4/1000/1000). "And since you have four cards in your hand Chloe that gives her an extra three thousand attack points." Theresa added as Silent Magician's attack points went up to four thousand.

"That's right and I can't think of many Black Luster Soldier or any card in Brandon's deck that can stand up to that much power." Chloe commented before she grinned broadly. "But you've got bigger problems, Silent Magician, attack her life-points directly!" Chloe commanded and the magician pointed her staff at Theresa before firing a beam of white light at Theresa bringing her life-points down to 3500. "Chelsea, feel free to use my Magician to finish off Theresa so we can win this duel!"

"You got it!" Chelsea responded with a grin and Brandon chuckled.

"Your magician may be powerful but it'll take more than power to win this duel." Brandon commented and the two girls grinned. "Are you done?"

"Yeah, I'm done, and after Chelsea's turn you'll both be done as well." Chloe responded and Brandon frowned before drawing his card.

"Their getting overconfident and that's cost Chloe in the past, in any case it's now or never." Brandon thought before drawing his card. "I activate my second Allure of Darkness!"

"I don't think so Brandon, I use Silent Magician's effect to negate the Spell Card's effect." Chloe responded as Brandon sent his Spell Card to the graveyard. "It seems you're out of options!" Chloe added before noticing the grin on his face. "Unless…."

"Unless Allure of Darkness was a ploy, now I activate my real plan! Go Mystical Space Typhoon! Destroy Dark Magical Circle for good!" Brandon commanded and Chloe's eyes widened as the storm washed over the field one more time destroying Chloe's Spell Card.

"Well, at least I got to use it one last time." Chloe commented with a sigh as the storm subsided. "But even without Dark Magical Circle me and Chelsea still have the field advantage!"

"Do you?" Brandon asked and Chloe blinked in confusion. "Right now, the only monsters in my graveyard are D.D. Scout Plane and Gorz, and they're about to be joined by a third! I activate Dark World Dealings!" Brandon played the card and all four duelists drew one card and discarded another. "But more importantly this allows me to summon one of my heavy hitters."

"That can only mean one thing!" Chloe gulped and sure enough Dark Armored Dragon appeared above the field with a roar (7/2800/1000).

"That's right and I'm activating his effect, by removing a Dark Type Monster from my graveyard I can destroy one card on the field and I'm looking right at her!" Brandon said as he locked eyes with Silent Magician and the tail slammed down atop of her destroying her.

"She's gone but not forgotten, when Silent Magician is destroyed by a card effect I can Special Summon my best monster, Silent Magician Level 8!" Chloe played the card and sure enough her strongest monster appeared on the field ready for battle (8/3500/1000) however when she saw who she was facing Silent Magician gave Brandon and Theresa respectful nods.

"Did you forget something Chloe? All I need is to banish another monster and your last line of defense is history!" Brandon responded as he went to banish a card…. only to be wrapped around in chains. "What?!"

"Forget about my facedown cards already?" Chelsea asked and Brandon looked up seeing that Chelsea had activated Fiendish Chain. "Another little gift from the briefcase and it's going to win us the prize!"

"Maybe, maybe not." Brandon responded before looking at the card he had drawn with Dark World Dealings. "I end my turn." Brandon announced and Chelsea drew her card.

"I activate my own Magic Planter!" Chelsea announced as she played the card destroying Fiendish Chain and drawing two cards. "Chloe, I know your using a different monster but does your offer still stand?"

"You know it does!" Chloe responded with a thumbs up as Silent Magician floated over to Chelsea's side of the field.

"As much as I want to eliminate Theresa now that big eyesore is the biggest threat, besides they have to be out of options now!" Chelsea commented before pointing to Dark Armed Dragon. "Silent Magician, attack his dragon!" Chelsea commanded and the magician pointed her staff…...

"Sorry girls but you just defeated yourselves." Brandon responded as he played a card. "Since you just attacked a Level Seven or high Dark Type Monster I can Special Summon Damage Collector!"

"Shit!" Chelsea cussed as the small white fiend appeared on the field (1/0/0) and likewise a small white orb appeared around the fiend. "Damn it! I did not want the duel to end like this!" Chelsea cussed before assessing her options.

"Believe me, the feelings mutual but you girls should be proud that you came this far." Theresa responded and Chloe and Chelsea shared a look before nodding. "Can I take my turn?" Theresa asked and Chelsea nodded as Theresa drew her card. "Can I borrow your dragon?"

"Go ahead!" Brandon responded as the two girls braced themselves and the dragon floated over.

"I banish one monster from Brandon's graveyard to destroy Damage Collector." Theresa announced as Brandon pocketed the monster and tail slammed down on the fiend, seconds later their opponents winced as their life-points hit zero simultaneously.

"Here are your winners of the match and the tournament, Theresa Daniels and Brandon Thomas!" Martin announced and the crowd cheered as Chloe and Chelsea dejectedly gathered up their cards. "That's the end of the tournament but after how popular it's proven we have decided to make it an annual thing and who knows? Maybe the next champions will be an Osiris Red Team!" Martin added causing louder cheers. "Until then, tomorrow afternoon Chloe will face Jessica Stevens in an expulsion duel and on Friday the graduation duels will take place after which summer break will start, I wish you all a nice, safe summer break but try to work on your dueling skills as well as your tans because after summer break we will be accepting new applicants!"

"That was the closest I've got to beating Theresa." Chloe commented with a sad sigh as she finished shuffling her deck. "But it still wasn't good enough."

"You'll beat her one day Chloe, I'm sure of it." Chelsea reassured her and Chloe grinned in response as their opponents approached them. "Hell, of a way to cap off a tournament huh?"

"You could say that again!" Theresa responded with a grin as they offered handshakes to their opponents who accepted them without hesitation. "Don't worry about how close you were Chloe, you'll beat me someday."

"Yeah, someday." Chloe responded with a sigh. "So, what's the plan now?"

"Meet us in the meeting room after your last class of the day, we have some things to discuss about the Orichalcos." Brandon responded and the girls nodded before the two teams walked off in separate directions.
