By the time Theresa had been updated by Kaiba, the real one that is, several security guards had poured into the room led by Kaiba's little brother Mokuba but Kaiba had told them to back down before explaining the situation.
"Well if she's competing in Battle City, then she just got disqualified." Mokuba commented as the pre-teen made himself comfortable. "There are easier ways to knock yourself out of the tournament you know!"
"Like I said, it's a long story." Theresa responded as she turned to him. "Never met Mokuba in real life now that I think about it, didn't I hear that he's running the American branch of KaibaCorp?" Theresa thought before turning to Kaiba. "I'm ready when you are Kaiba."
"Good, then let's begin." Kaiba responded as they activated their duel disks and drew their opening hands. "I'll go first." Kaiba said bluntly before drawing his first card.
"Guess the real Kaiba decided to make the rules closer to what they were in the original Battle City." Theresa thought as she watched the simulation go over his hand. "Wonder if that applies to ban-lists?"
"I start by activating Pot of Greed, which allows me to draw two cards from my deck!" Kaiba announced, unintentionally confirming Theresa's suspicions in the process before he drew his cards. "I set two cards facedown and I summon the mighty Alexandrite Dragon!" Kaiba announced as he played the card and the beautiful sapphire dragon appeared on the field with a roar (4/2000/100). "It's your move." Kaiba announced and Theresa drew her card.
"The real Kaiba did say that his deck had been upgraded." Theresa thought as she looked over the field. "The presence of Alexandrite Dragon confirms this as that card was released several years after the original Battle City." Theresa thought before looking at her hand. "I set two cards facedown as well." Theresa announced as her two facedown cards appeared on the field. "And I set a monster in defense mode, that ends my turn."
"Setting up defenses won't help you! I activate my Trap Card Dragon's Rage!" Kaiba announced as his trap card flipped up and Alexandrite Dragon let out a powerful roar. "Thanks to this this trap card my dragons can inflict piercing damage! Now I draw!" Kaiba announced as he drew his card. "Alexandrite Dragon, attack her defense monster!" Kaiba commanded and the dragon breathed fire at the monster…only for the monster to survive.
"Sorry Kaiba but my Beginning Knight's defense points match your dragon's attack points point for point." Theresa explained as the young knight appeared on the field (4/500/2000). "Meaning this battle between a knight and a dragon ends in a draw!"
"But it won't save your life-points for long, I activate my trap card Ring of Destruction! This destroys my Alexandrite Dragon and inflicts damage equal to it's attack points to both our life-points!" Kaiba announced as his trap card flipped up and the ring of grenades appeared around the dragon's neck.
"Fine by me, by your own admission, you'll damage your own life-points in the process." Theresa responded and Kaiba shook his head.
"Not with Ring of Defense! This will protect my life-points!" Kaiba announced as he activated the card and a green ringed shield appeared in front of Kaiba protecting him from the blast as the explosion filled the room bringing Theresa's life-points down to 6000. "And don't get any ideas about attacking me directly! Since I control no monsters, I can Special Summon Kaiser Vorse Raider to the field!" Kaiba announced as the blue version of the hideous Beast-Warrior appeared on the field (5/1900/1200). "My turn is done, regretting breaking in yet?"
"Considering I'm getting a good duel out of it? Not really." Theresa responded as she drew her card. "Now I've got a bigger problem, the only monsters I've got that can attack over Kaiser Vorse Raider are my Ritual Monsters and the Gaia Knight cards! Beginning Knight's defense points will buy me a turn or two at most but if I know anything about Kaiba's Battle City decks, its that he had a lot of powerful creatures in them!" Theresa thought before looking at her drawn card. "I activate my own Pot of Greed!"
"About time." Kaiba responded as Theresa drew her cards.
"Guess the real Kaiba added this to my deck to compensate for the change in rules." Theresa thought as she sent her Spell Card to the graveyard. "Which makes me wonder what else he added." Theresa thought before looking over her hand. "I summon Charging Gaia, the Fierce Knight!" Theresa announced as she played the card and the famous knight on horseback appeared on the field ready for battle (7/2300/2100).
"A level seven monster with no tributes? What's your game, Theresa?" Kaiba demanded and Theresa grinned.
"Funny coming from the guy who just summoned a Level Five Monster with no tributes." Theresa responded before Arisen Gaia's attack points dropped to 1900. "Like Kaiser Vorse Raider, Charging Gaia, the Fierce Knight can be summoned without tributes, however it is specifically a normal summon and his attack points are dropped to 1900." Theresa explained as she folded her arms. "Not bad, huh?"
"Not good either, the only thing you've accomplished is matching my Vorse Raider point for point." Kaiba responded as he folded his arms. "Unless you intend to destroy both of our monsters you just wasted a turn."
"No, I only intend to destroy one." Theresa responded before playing a card from her hand. "I activate Forbidden Chalice! Not only will this increase Gaia's attack points by four hundred for the rest of the turn, but his effects are negated as well, meaning his attack points are now at 2700!" Theresa explained as Gaia's attack points shot up to 2700. "Arisen Gaia, attack Kaiser Vorse Raider now!" Theresa commanded, and the knight charged into battle.
"My monster won't go down that easy! From my hand, I activate Enemy Controller!" Kaiba announced as he played the card. "Up, Up, Down, Down, B, A, B, A, Start! With this button combination your knight is forced into defense mode!" Kaiba explained before the knight knelt.
"It won't help you in the long run! Charging Gaia's attack points may have been reduced but his defense points weren't." Theresa responded before looking at her hand. "It's your move."
"We'll see how long that lasts." Kaiba responded before drawing a card. "Perfect, I have everything I need to put this punk in her place!" Kaiba thought before playing a card. "I activate Trade In, by discarding one Level 8 Monster from my hand I can draw two cards from my deck." Kaiba announced as he discarded the monster and drew his two cards. "You've done well to make it this far, but it stops here! I activate a Spell Card Return of the Dragon Lords!"
"Oh crap!" Theresa thought as a familiar roar echoed throughout the room. "Good thing I came prepared for this!"
"Come forth Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" Kaiba declared as the dragon he made famous appeared on the field with a mighty roar (8/3000/2500). "Blue-Eyes White Dragon, attack Charging Gaia the Fierce Knight! White Lightning!" Kaiba commanded and the dragon opened its maw to unleash its infamous attack on Theresa's knight.
"You familiar with how battles between knights and dragons typically go in fantasy?" Theresa asked and Kaiba remained stoic. "I'll take that as a yes, well I'm sorry to disappoint you Kaiba but my knight is about to take down your dragon! Activate Trap Card Chaos Burst! I tribute Charging Gaia to destroy the Blue Eyes White Dragon and inflict one thousand points of damage to you!" Theresa announced, and the eyes of the security guards went as wide as dinner plates as the knight stood up and charged into battle…
"I don't think so, since I have Rise of the Dragon Lords in my graveyard, I can banish it to protect my Blue Eyes!" Kaiba responded as he pocketed the Spell Card and the knight skewered the mighty dragon with his lance, however the dragon survived the attack and swatted it aside with his tail destroying the knight whilst his life-points dropped to 7000. "Now the only thing standing between me and your life-points is that pathetic Beginning Knight!"
"Maybe but if Charging Gaia is tribute for whatever reason his other effect kicks in, allowing me to search through my deck for a Black Luster Soldier Monster and add it to my hand!" Theresa responded before instinctively going to input commands but finding no command console. "Oh, right, this is still the earlier model." Theresa thought before quickly grabbing her deck and searching through it. "I add Black Luster Soldier Super Soldier to my hand!"
"Add all the monsters to your hand you want! It won't save the pathetic weakling you left on the field! And with Dragon's Rage still in play, it won't be long until I finish this! Blue Eyes resume your attack and destroy Beginning Knight! White Lightning!" Kaiba commanded and the dragon opened its maw again ready to attack the much weaker knight….
"That's where my other trap card comes in! I activate Defense Draw!" Theresa announced as her trap card flipped up and her knight was destroyed. "It won't save my knight but what it will do is reduce the battle damage to zero and allow me to draw a card." Theresa explained before drawing her card.
"You should've saved that for my follow up! Kaiser Vorse Raider, attack…..." Kaiba's command was cut off by an ear piercing screech as Theresa played a card from her hand and Kaiba frowned as the screech died down. "Command Silencer?"
"I thought you'd recognize one of your own cards." Theresa commented as she drew an additional card. "As for why I didn't play it before Defense Draw, I literally drew into it via Defense Draw's effect." Theresa added and Kaiba frowned.
"Take your move already." Kaiba responded and Theresa nodded before drawing her card.
"I can't keep this up for long, either Kaiba wipes out my life-points in a few turns and this becomes the most one sided duel I've taken part in since I took up this game or he manages to bring something even worse out." Theresa thought before looking at her drawn card. "And I have just the thing to turn this around." Theresa thought before playing a card. "I activate Terra-Forming! With this Spell Card I can search through my deck for a Field Spell Card and add it to my hand."
"That won't help you." Kaiba scoffed as Theresa searched through her deck and added the field spell to her hand. "I'll end this duel before you get a chance to use that Field Spell."
"I wouldn't count on that Kaiba." Theresa responded as she shuffled her deck and sent the Spell Card to her graveyard. "I activate Gateway to Chaos!" Theresa announced as she played the field spell and the scenery changed to a blue void. "For starters, when I play this Field Spell, I can add one Black Luster Soldier Ritual Monster to my hand or a Gaia the Fierce Knight monster to my hand, my choice is Gaia, the Fierce Knight!"
"What? That pathetic knight that Yugi uses?" Kaiba asked with a scoff as she searched through her deck again and added the monster to her hand. "Maybe you can ask him how the first encounter between Gaia and my knight ended when I kick you out, but you'll have to get out of jail first."
"Wasn't the agreement that you wouldn't call the police if I beat you?" Theresa asked as she shuffled her deck again. "Actually, forget I said that! I activate Super Soldier Ritual! With this Spell Card I can summon any Black Luster Soldier monster from my hand by sacrificing monsters whose levels equal eight or more, so I send my second Charging Gaia and A/D Changer to the graveyard!" Theresa explained as the two monsters appeared on the field only to be sucked into the chalice. "I Ritual Summon Black Luster Soldier – Super Soldier!" Theresa announced as she played the card and the warrior in magnificent armor appeared on the field ready for battle (8/3000/2500).
"Impressive but any battle against my dragon would just end in a draw." Kaiba responded with a scoff and Theresa grinned.
"Before I continue my move, Gateway To Chaos will gain a Spell Counter for each monster sent from my hand or the field to the graveyard." Theresa explained as two orbs emerged from the void. "With a maximum amount of six I might add, but more on that later." Theresa added before pointing to Kaiser Vorse Raider. "Black Luster Soldier – Super Soldier, attack Kaiser Vorse Raider!" Theresa commanded, and the soldier raised his sword high before slamming it down sending a shockwave towards Kaiser Vorse Raider destroying it. "And before you make a snide comment on how that wasn't enough to make up for the difference in life-points, when Black Luster Soldier – Super Soldier destroys a monster by battle he takes the attack points of that monster out of its owners' life-points!"
"WHAT?!" Kaiba yelled out in surprise as his eyes widened and the shockwave continued towards Kaiba sending him flying backwards as his life-points dropped to four-thousand.
"BIG BROTHER!" Mokuba yelled out in concern as Kaiba got to his feet. "Are you satisfied Theresa? Breaking into my brother's building just to duel him?!"
"Sad part is, that's the least crazy explanation for why/how I got in here!" Theresa thought as a sweat-drop rolled down the back of her head whilst Kaiba got back to his feet. "Just a matter of time until I beat you Kaiba!"
"Not with Super Soldier you won't." Kaiba responded as Black Luster Soldier – Super Soldier's attack points dropped to 2500. "When Kaiser Vorse Raider is destroyed by battle and sent to the graveyard, he takes five hundred attack points away from the attacking monster making your soldier a sitting duck."
"We'll see how long that lasts." Theresa responded before picking up the card she had drawn with Command Silencer. "I set one card facedown and end my turn." Theresa announced and Kaiba drew his card.
"Much as I hate to admit it, she is a talented duelist." Kaiba thought as he glanced up at Theresa. "Not many duelists her age would be able to go toe to toe with me even with my dragon out, whoever taught her has taught her well." Kaiba thought before looking at his hand and pointing to Black Luster Soldier – Super Soldier. "Blue-Eyes White Dragon attack Black Luster Soldier – Super Soldier now! White Lightning!" Kaiba commanded and the dragon opened its maw once again…...only for a strange ogre to appear on the field carrying a red and a green flag (1/0/0), it held up the red flag and the dragon knelt rather than finish the attack. "What have you done?!"
"Oh, not much, just forced your dragon into defense mode." Theresa responded as she held up A/D Changer. "Remember when I Ritual Summoned Super Soldier? One of the monsters I used was A/D Changer and by banishing it from my graveyard I can force one monster on the field into attack or defense position." Theresa explained before grinning. "Take a guess as to what position your dragon was forced into."
"You will pay for this insult!" Kaiba growled as Theresa pocketed the monster and Kaiba looked at his hand. "I set one card facedown and end my turn." Kaiba announced and Theresa drew her card.
"I can't believe it, I'm actually close to beating Seto Kaiba in a duel!" Theresa thought as she added her drawn card to her hand. "Too bad no one on the pro circuit will believe me once I go into detail but still!" Theresa thought before looking at her hand. "I activate Graceful Charity!" Theresa announced as she played the card and drew three cards before discarding too, once she looked at her hand she grinned and retrieved three cards from the graveyard. "Did you think I was going to settle for one Super Soldier? Especially since you weakened one? Super Soldier Ritual has another effect, I can banish it alongside one light and one dark type monster from my graveyard to Special Summon a Black Luster Soldier card from my hand whilst ignoring it's summoning conditions."
"Unless Beginning Knight is a Dark Type Monster, I can't recall destroying any." Kaiba responded with a scoff and Theresa grinned.
"As it just so happens, I just discarded one called Evening Twilight Knight thanks to Graceful Charity." Theresa responded as she held up the monster (4/500/2000). "This little guy is pretty much the dark equivalent of Beginning Knight, so I'll use them both to summon another Black Luster Soldier – Super Soldier!" Theresa added before pocketing the three cards and another, fully powered Super Soldier appeared on the field. "And thanks to A/D Changer, I don't have to worry about losing my Soldier to attacking your dragon! Super Soldier number two, attack his dragon!" Theresa commanded, and the soldier slammed his sword down sending the shockwave towards the dragon destroying it and sending Kaiba's life-points down to 1000. "Any last words before I win?"
"Bring it!" Kaiba sneered as he got up and Theresa grinned.
"Your loss, Black Luster Soldier, attack his life-points directly!" Theresa commanded, and the soldier slammed his sword down again…...
"I activate my Trap Card Nutrient Z!" Kaiba announced as his trap card flipped up. "As I am about to take over two thousand points of damage this trap card will increase my life-points by four thousand!" Kaiba added as his life-points increased to 5000 before the second shockwave hit him bringing his life-points down to 2500.
"I should've known that was too easy!" Theresa thought before going over her hand. "On the other hand, I've taken the lead and I'm two attacks away from winning, unless he busts out something nasty, I should be okay." Theresa thought before glancing up at Kaiba. "It's your move!" Theresa announced and Kaiba drew his card.
"She managed to turn the duel around, but it won't take me long to finish this." Kaiba thought before looking at his drawn card. "I activate Card of Demise! This allows me to draw until I have five cards in my hand! Since I currently have one card in my hand…."
"You get to draw four cards, I can do basic math thank you very much." Theresa responded as she folded her arms and Kaiba sneered at her. "Not to mention the fact that I've seen Miranda use it several times since I met her, but it's not like Kaiba will believe me if I told him that I saw his daughter using that card." Theresa thought as Kaiba drew his four cards. "Draw something good?"
"In more ways than one, first I activate the Spell Card Ancient Rules which allows me to Special Summon one powerful Normal Type Monster from my hand." Kaiba responded with a smirk as a familiar roar rang out. "And this card needs no introduction." Kaiba added as the Blue-Eyes White Dragon returned to the field with a roar.
"I'm not worried." Theresa said defiantly as she motioned to her soldiers. "You may have weakened one of my soldiers but the other one still matches your dragon point for point."
"That may be true but neither of your soldiers will survive the turn, I activate my Spell Card Burst Stream of Destruction! My dragon loses the ability to attack this turn but in exchange, he will destroy both soldiers! Blue-Eyes, annihilate her forces with your Burst Stream of Destruction!" Kaiba commanded and the dragon opened its maw before unleashing the stream of light at both soldiers destroying them both and sending Theresa skidding back several meters.
"My Super Soldiers have one last effect, when they are destroyed by battle or card effect, I can Special Summon a Gaia the Fierce Knight monster from my hand, deck or graveyard, since you were kind enough to destroy two of them, I'll summon two!" Theresa responded before retrieving a card from her graveyard. "So, welcome back Charging Gaia, the Fierce Knight from my graveyard." Theresa added as the knight returned to the field. "And Lord Gaia, the Fierce Knight from my deck!" Theresa added as another knight appeared on the field (7/2300/2100). "And you said so yourself, your dragon can't attack."
"Your right, my Blue-Eyes can't attack." Kaiba responded as he picked up a card and Theresa's grin quickly disappeared. "But that's the point! From my hand I activate Dragon's Mirror! Using this I remove the Blue-Eyes White Dragons in my graveyard, hand and field from play to summon a monster that no mere soldier can hope to vanquish!" Kaiba added and all color drained from Theresa's face as it sunk in whilst she watched the three famous dragons get sucked into the fusion portal. "Come forth, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" Kaiba announced as he played the card and with a mighty roar the massive, three headed dragon appeared on the field (10/4500/3800).
"Not that it matters, but since you summoned a monster stronger than Lord Gaia, I can increase his attack by seven hundred." Theresa responded with a nervous gulp as Lord Gaia's attack went up to 3000.
"Fine, I'll settle for destroying Charging Gaia instead! Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, attack and vanquish her knight! Neutron Blast!" Kaiba commanded and the dragon's three heads launched it's attack at the much weaker knight annihilating it and sending Theresa flying backwards, the blast was enough to knock the hairband holding her ponytail up lose causing Theresa's shoulder length dark brown hair to flow free as her life-points plummeted to 4800. "Your time in this duel is about as lose as your ponytail! Make your last move!" Kaiba responded and Theresa blinked before realizing that her ponytail had come lose.
"Normally I'd pick it up after the duel, but this is a simulation and I still have my hair in a ponytail in the real world." Theresa thought before she pulled herself up and returned to her original position, once she had gathered up the scattered cards Theresa drew her card. "I guess I should've expected him to bring out Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon at some point." Theresa thought as she looked at the massive dragon. "Seeing Miranda use it in her duels is one thing but seeing the guy who made the Blue-Eyes White Dragon famous use it? It's on a whole new level, I'd be excited if it weren't so terrifying." Theresa thought before shaking her head with a small chuckle. "Even if the Seto Kaiba fangirl in me is squeeing with all her might!"
"I don't have all day Theresa, make your move already." Kaiba interrupted her train of thought and Theresa nodded in response.
"Still, I need to get rid of that Dragon somehow, either that or Dragon's Rage." Theresa thought before looking at her drawn card and grinning. "Say goodbye to Dragon's Rage! I activate Mystical Space Typhoon!"
"OH NO!" Kaiba yelled out before a storm washed over the field destroying his trap card. "You've only managed to delay the inevitable."
"Maybe, maybe not." Theresa responded before playing a card. "Next I activate Burial from a Different Dimension, I use this to return A/D Changer, Beginning Knight and Evening Twilight Knight to my graveyard." Theresa announced before retrieving the three monsters and returning them to her graveyard. "And here's why! I activate Pot of Avarice!"
"Oh good, your getting your knights back." Kaiba responded as he rolled his eyes as Theresa retrieved Beginning Knight, Evening Twilight Knight, Charging Gaia and both Super Soldiers from her graveyard, shuffled them into her deck and drew two cards. "Am I supposed to be impressed by such a amateur move from an obvious Yugi fangirl?"
"Yeah, I'm not correcting him on that, not with the real Kaiba overseeing the duel." Theresa thought as a sweat-drop rolled down her head. "I set one card facedown and a card in defense mode, next I switch Lord Gaia to defense mode and pass the turn to you." Theresa announced as the two facedown monsters appeared on the field and Lord Gaia's horse knelt and Kaiba drew his card. "I've seen enough of your duels to know that you'll have to toss your hand five turns after activating Card of Demise."
"I'll give you credit for doing your homework on me before breaking into my building but that's it." Kaiba responded before looking at his drawn card. "But why wait that long? I activate Card Destruction giving us both a fresh start." Kaiba explained as he played the card and both duelists discarded their hands before drawing new ones. "Or will I? I activate Disgraceful Charity! Now all cards that were discarded will return to our hands."
"Didn't Yugi use that card in his Semi-Final Match against Kaiba?" Theresa thought as both duelists returned their discarded cards to their hands. "Feels so weird seeing it used by Kaiba…." Theresa's train of thought was broken when Kaiba's laughter filled the air. "I don't like that laugh."
"Good instincts! I equip my Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon with Megamorph!" Kaiba responded and Theresa's eyes widened as his already massive dragon doubled in size to the point where it's heads would go through the ceiling if it was a real creature. "Since my life-points are lower than yours, this doubles my dragons attack power." Kaiba added as Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon's attack points shot up to 9000. "And now to seal your doom! I activate Raigeki to destroy your last line of defense!"
"Well, this is gonna suck." Theresa thought as she shielded her eyes from the lightning striking her two monsters destroying them both. "Do your worst!"
"As you wish, in fact let this serve as a warning to any duelist foolish enough to break into my building, it won't end well. Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, finish her off with Neutron Blast!" Kaiba commanded and the dragon's heads prepared it's final attack…..
"Remember A/D Changer? I left him in the graveyard for a reason!" Theresa responded before retrieving the monster from her graveyard and pocketing it causing the ogre to return to the field and hold up the red flag forcing the massive dragon into defense mode. "Shame it won't be as easy to defeat this time around."
"All you did was buy yourself a turn at most, use it wisely." Kaiba responded and Theresa took it as her cue to draw her card.
"Nothing short of a miracle would save me now." Theresa thought as she glanced up at the massive dragon. "At least with Dragon's Rage destroyed I won't have to worry about Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon wiping out my life-points through piercing damage." Theresa thought before looking at her drawn card. "I set one card facedown and end my turn."
"That's your last line of defense? Pathetic." Kaiba responded before drawing his card. "Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon attack her life-points directly and end this duel! NEUTRON BLAST!" Kaiba commanded and the dragon prepared it's attack….
"You know, considering Yugi has this card in his deck, you'd think you wouldn't fall for it." Theresa responded as her Trap Card flipped up. "Read it and weep Kaiba!"
"NO! NOT MIRROR FORCE!" Kaiba yelled out as his eyes widened but it was too late as the attack was redirected back at Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon destroying it. "I didn't want to do this, but she's forced my hand, if she manages to summon a Super Soldier then this duel will be over." Kaiba thought with a frown before picking up a card. "I set a monster in defense mode and end my turn."
"How the tables have turned." Theresa responded with a grin before she drew her card. "I summon Gaia, the Polar Knight!" Theresa announced as the knight in jet black armor on a white horse appeared on the field (4/1600/1200).
"Just how many variants of the same monster do you have in your deck?!" Kaiba asked with a frown and Theresa shook her head.
"Quite a few, but this one's aimed at your defense monster." Theresa responded before pointing at the monster. "Gaia Knight, attack his defense monster!" Theresa commanded, and the knight charged into battle, however when Theresa saw the monster flip up all color drained from her face. "Cyber Jar?!" Theresa exclaimed as the infamous monster was impaled by Gaia's lance (2/900/200).
"That's right and he's taking your knight with him!" Kaiba responded before Cyber Jar blew up taking Gaia Knight with him. "However, we can now look at the top five cards of our decks and Special Summon any level four monsters among them." Kaiba added and Theresa nodded before they looked at their cards. "I summon Rare Metal Dragon, Boar Soldier, Enraged Battle Ox, Des Feral Imp and Spear Dragon!"
"That is quite the intimidating line-up." Theresa thought as the five monsters appeared on the field (4/2400/1200) (4/2000/500) (4/1700/1000) (4/1600/1800) and (4/1900/0). "Better hope my defenses hold up." Theresa thought before playing three cards. "I summon three monsters in defense mode, and since I have more than one monster Boar Soldier loses 1000 attack points."
"I know what my own monster does." Kaiba sneered as the beast-warrior's attack points dropped to 1000. "But even with less attack points, this this still more than enough to finish you off."
"We'll see about that." Theresa responded before setting one of the cards she drew with Cyber Jar. "I set a card facedown and end my turn." Theresa announced and Kaiba drew his card.
"I won't waste any more time than I need too, Rare Metal Dragon, Spear Dragon, Enraged Battle Ox, attack her monsters!" Kaiba commanded and the three monsters unleased their attacks, Rare Metal Dragon destroyed Beginning Knight easily and Theresa's Sangan and Marauding Captain fell just as quickly to Enraged Battle Ox and Spear Dragon respectively. "Don't forget that Enraged Battle Ox and Spear Dragon inflict piercing damage." Kaiba added as Theresa's life-points dropped to 1900. "Boar Soldier, Des Feral Imp, finish it!"
"Don't count on it Kaiba, I activate Call of the Haunted to bring back an old friend." Theresa responded as her trap card flipped up and Lord Gaia returned to the field. "And since Rare Metal Dragon is stronger than him, I'll increase his attack points by 700." Theresa added as Lord Gaia's attack points went up to 3000.
"And I thought Wheeler was a persistent cockroach." Kaiba sneered as he glared at Theresa. "I set one card facedown and end my turn." Kaiba announced as he set a card and Theresa drew her card.
"Okay, I just have to get past all his monsters, can't be that hard." Theresa thought before glancing up at Kaiba's army of monsters. "May as well start with the biggest threat, Lord Gaia, attack Rare Metal Dragon!" Theresa commanded, and the knight charged into battle…
"I activate my trap card Shadow Spell!" Kaiba responded as chains ensnared the knight. "He can't attack and looses the attack boost." Kaiba added as Lord Gaia's attack points dropped to 2300.
"I set one card facedown and end my turn." Theresa responded as she set the card and Kaiba drew his card. "Negate Attack will do exactly what it says on the tin, negate the incoming attack from Rare Metal Dragon, after that? Well I'll be praying for another miracle…." Theresa's thoughts trailed off when she saw the look on Kaiba's face. "Why am I suddenly feeling an incredible sense of dread?"
"Because I'm about to give you a rare honor, it's not everyday that a random duelist like yourself gets to face a god." Kaiba responded with a grin and once it sunk in, it looked like Theresa had seen a ghost. "I tribute Rare Metal Dragon, Boar Soldier and Des Feral Imp to call forth the Egyptian God Card Obelisk the Tormentor!" Kaiba announced as he slapped the card down and the three monsters where consumed by a brilliant light as the humongous monster loomed over the battlefield ready to end the duel (10/4000/4000). "I activate the effect of Obelisk the Tormentor, sacrificing Enraged Battle Ox and Spear Dragon to deal four thousand points of direct damage to your life-points."
"It's over, there's nothing I can do to prevent my defeat." Theresa thought as she glanced up at the god in front of her as it grabbed the two, much smaller monsters and squeezed the lifeforce out of them.
"Obelisk the Tormentor, end this duel now, FIST OF FATE!" Kaiba commanded and the god reared back it's fist and threw it, the fist went straight through Lord Gaia destroying him in the process and hit Theresa in the chin sending her life-points well bellow zero. "Any final requests before I have you arrested?" Kaiba asked once the holograms disappeared and Theresa rubbed her aching chin.
"Can I at least retrieve my hairband?" Theresa asked as she looked around for it, Kaiba just glared at her before storming out of the room.
"You have five minutes to pretty yourself up for the cameras." Kaiba responded before he, Mokuba and the guards left the room, Theresa quickly located her hairband and grabbed it before she started putting her ponytail back up, by the time she had finished she found herself in a dark void.
"Theresa, it's Kaiba, the real one." Kaiba's voice rang out and Theresa stood up. "You did well but you have a lot to work on."
"Yeah, well, maybe next time you can warn me if my opponent has a freaking God Card in their deck!" Theresa responded with annoyed huff. "What about Chloe and Lance?"
"They are still dueling, as soon as they done, you will be let out of the simulation." Kaiba responded and Theresa sat back down.
"Might as well make myself comfy then." Theresa thought before getting her deck out. "Just wish I could warn Chloe, I mean if Kaiba went to the trouble of including Obelisk in virtual Kaiba's deck then there's a good chance that Yugi has Celestial Dragon of Osiris in his." Theresa thought as she went over her deck.
