As soon as the result of the duel between Marcus and Erick became obvious Victor switched to the next floor where Otto was indeed waiting for the students to arrive, as he watched Otto wait for his opponents Victor put a hand to his earpiece.
"Jack, Sarah, Dan, Erick has been defeated, they are on their way to the fourth floor as we speak, be prepared if Otto cannot stop them." Victor said into the earpiece and waited for their response.
"I don't understand why Otto gets to go before me." Dan's voice rang out and Victor frowned. "I have a bone to pick with my ex…..."
"Yes, but Otto has been here longer than you." Victor responded and Dan grumbled some choice words under his breath. "Jack, do you copy?"
"Huh? Yeah, yeah, I copy." Jack responded after feeling flustered for a second. "Just had some stuff to deal with down here, that's all."
"Do you want me to come down there?" Sarah asked and Jack quickly shook his head.
"Nah, I got it, and if Otto and Dan fail, then I've got the duelists as well." Jack responded and Victor frowned before hanging up on him.
"Sarah, did you find your inventory list?" Victor asked as he watched Andreas race up the stairs to the fourth floor.
"Yes Victor, the remaining Mind Control potions where destroyed in the explosion, however I did notice something that I had missed previously." Sarah responded clearly unhappy with that fact. "Two weeks before we tested the potions in Canada and at Duel Academy island someone checked out three potions, I checked the local news reports from that date, several women reported getting date raped by a man fitting Jack's description but had no recollection of the events prior, for that reason the police never looked into it, anyway the week after that he returned the potion he was meant to use during the test run but also returned two empty vials."
"Any record of why those vials were empty?" Victor asked clearly not liking where this was going.
"He said that some druggie had taken them, apparently mistaking them for some new drug, and that he retrieved them from their unconscious bodies, wait, Victor are you suggesting what you think you are?" Sarah asked with more than a hint of disgust in her voice.
"During Otto's duel I will call Jack up to explain the missing vials, whilst he is giving his excuses check his floor." Victor responded before hanging up and glancing at the fourth floor screen.
*down on the fourth floor*
"OTTO!" Andreas called out to his twin brother when he reached the fourth floor and saw him with his back to Andreas, then he glanced up and recognized the scene playing on the screen. "That's…."
"Your defeat at Battle City." Otto responded as he turned around and glared daggers at his brother. "So, I'm guessing you got the message from Erick?"
"Loud and clear." Andreas responded as his eyes narrowed. "You should be in jail Otto, why are you here?"
"To finish what I started at Battle City." Otto responded before the other duelists joined Andreas. "Ahh, so the rest of the motley crew has arrived, you'll have to wait your turn I'm afraid?"
"Why?" Chloe asked as she walked forward. "Don't want a tie breaker?"
"There isn't a tie to break Richardson, our first duel was a draw due to teacher interference, our second ended in your lucky victory and no, I don't count that battle royal, if you want to get technical, we both lost to Eddie in that match." Otto responded as Brandon stepped forward with the phone out. "If you are ordering pizza, don't bother, the bottom floors are locked down."
"I know." Adrienne's voice rang out as the French woman paced up and down the rec room. "Do you remember me Otto? I was one of your victims in Battle City."
"Do you have any idea how little that narrows things down? I remember beating several duelists on the road to the finals, but I can't remember their names." Otto responded as he rolled his eyes. "The most I remember is the first victim being a French Woman….oh, so you dragged her out of obscurity, huh?"
"Obscurity? Hardly! After my soul was freed, I went on to become the French National Champion." Adrienne responded before growling. "And trust me, if those guys fail to stop you then I will."
"Oh, so I had an "before they were famous" moment? Maybe I'll mention it in my autobiography someday." Otto responded sarcastically before he locked eyes with Andreas. "And you won't get the chance, these duelists souls are powerful enough to revive the Great Leviathan by themselves."
"Is that why Victor targeted us?" Chloe asked as she folded her arms. "Frankly, I'm surprised someone with more experience wasn't selected."
"You possess the Legendary Dragons, do you not? I have nothing but contempt for you Richardson but don't see yourself short." Otto responded before turning to Andreas. "And this time dear brother, you will never return."
"This time, I'll avenge my loss." Andreas responded before the two boys activated their duel disks.
*back on the first floor*
"Seriously Adrienne? Was that really necessary?" Amanda asked as she glanced up at the shorter woman who had shoved her over to grab her phone. "You could've just asked instead of acting like Casey had leaked the nude selfies I sent him the other night."
"Wait, why would Adrienne care if he leaked nude selfies from your phone?" Phil pointed out and Adrienne made sure to temporarily turn off the speaker phone before answering.
"Because I'm also in those nude selfies, and no, you're not seeing them." Adrienne responded and it didn't take long for Phil to realize what she meant before the French Woman helped Amanda up. "Sorry Mandy, been waiting since Battle City to give that punk a piece of my mind."
"Join the club, Duel Academy's enrollment duels day was down this year by almost half compared to the class that included Lance, Chloe and Chelsea and myself and Seto agree that Otto wielding the Orichalcos during Battle City had a lot to do with it." Sophia responded before she heard the front doors open. "Did we leave anyone behind at the hotel?"
"Don't think so, everyone was accounted for when we did the head count at the hotel this morning." Amanda responded before kissing Adrienne briefly and leaving her to communicate with the students upstairs. "Adrienne, keep us posted on the sibling rivalry, I'm going to check with Sophia to see if there's any late comers."
"Oui, I'll do my best." Adrienne nodded before the Canadian woman followed Sophia out of the room. "Probably the janitor without a clue as to what's going on upstairs, there's probably at least a hundred employees that work here normally who didn't know what their boss was up too." Adrienne thought before she turned the speaker phone back on. "Sorry for the blackout Brandon, personal stuff that might be a bit too racy for younger ears."
"Adrienne, we're the same age and Lance has a massive porn collection, I don't think anything's too racy for us." Brandon pointed out and Adrienne chuckled.
"Point taken." Adrienne admitted before she noticed Sophia and Amanda activating their duel disks. "I think we've got company down here, probably some late Orichalcos Duelists that didn't get the message, Amanda and Sophia are on it."
"If they're anything like how Amanda described the robed goons that they sent out first, then it shouldn't take long." Brandon nodded before Adrienne went to check on the situation.
*back at the duel*
Whilst that was going on downstairs Otto and Andreas had activated their duel disks and drew their opening hands all the while glaring daggers at each other.
"So, you went first the last two times we dueled." Andreas commented as he glared at his brother who smirked in response. "Any chance of you breaking tradition and letting me go first for a change?" Andreas asked and Otto scoffed.
"You were always second in everything, second best duelist, second best student, hell I was born first." Otto responded and Andreas's eyes narrowed. "In other words, no, you will go second like all Ra Yellow Students."
"Correction, since the dream duel, I've been promoted to Obelisk Blue alongside Lance and Marcus, Chloe and Chelsea are now in Ra Yellow and the only Osiris Red Student here is Nicola." Andreas corrected him and Otto scoffed again.
"I see that the standards for Obelisk Blue Students have dropped dramatically since my expulsion." Otto responded before looking at his hand. "This duel is starting the exact same way our Semi-Final Match started! I activate the Seal of the Orichalcos!" Otto announced as he played the card and Andreas braced himself as the seal enveloped them both, once the pentagram appeared on his forehead Otto grinned maniacally as he glared at his brother. "Any last requests?"
"Yes, actually, before the dream duel, I had heard that they threw away the key when they sent you to jail." Andreas pointed out and Otto nodded. "And yet, here you are."
"Your asking why? I could say that I got out on good behavior, but I'd be lying." Otto responded as he shook his head. "Truth is, Victor had his goons bust me out, considered me to valuable to leave rotting in a jail cell, if it weren't for the fact that I'm a wanted fugitive I would've come to the island to do this a lot sooner."
"And you'll be going straight back to jail once this is over." Sophia responded over the phone in a calm manor. "And no one will be around to break you out this time."
"Why don't you send Chloe to jail with me?" Otto suggested and Chloe's eyes widened as she realized what he was about to say. "She used the Seal of the Orichalcos as well."
"Excuse me, what?!" Sophia demanded and Chloe quickly snatched the phone from Brandon's hands.
"I'll just go ahead and say it, yes, Otto is telling the truth, but I never added it to my deck by choice nor did I want to activate it." Chloe explained and Sophia remained silent. "Just give me time to explain in detail."
"You have ten minutes, if your saying is true Chloe then I'll let it slide and be thankful because I wouldn't have given you the time of day otherwise." Sophia responded and Chloe let out a deep breath before going to the back of the room to talk to Sophia.
"In any case, I set two cards facedown and a monster in defense mode, your move." Otto announced and Andreas drew his card without hesitation.
"Throughout the Battle City Finals Otto used Cyber Dragons and Power Bond, in fact it was the latter card that ultimately did him in against Chloe." Andreas thought before looking at his hand. "And during the dream duel he used a Geargia deck, the only consistent thing is the fact that he uses a machine deck but aside from that who knows what he has up his sleeve this time?" Andreas thought before picking up two cards. "I set two cards facedown and I summon Gene-Warped Warwolf!" Andreas announced as he played the cards and the large, muscular humanoid wolf appeared on the field (4/2000/100). "Attack his defense monster!" Andreas commanded and the beast charged into battle….
"I'm afraid not!" Otto responded as the facedown monster appeared, it looked like the Cyber Dragon in appearance, but it was heavily armored and surrounded by a shield (2/0/2000) and the attack bounced off the shield harmlessly even as the monster's attack increased to 500 thanks to the seal. "Cyber Shield Dragon's defense points matches your monster's point for point, you where able to save yourself from taking damage but that's it."
"Well, that answers my earlier question, he's gone back to Cyber Dragons." Andreas thought with a frown as Gene-Warped Warwolf returned to his side of the field. "I did hear that new support for that archetype has been released since Battle City, might have to ask Sophia if that was a coincidence or not." Andreas thought before glancing over his shoulder as Chloe made her way back to the front of the group with a relieved look on her face. "I end my turn."
"So, how did it go?" Brandon asked as he took back his phone with an annoyed look on his face and Chloe grinned sheepishly.
"She agreed that I had used that card under duress and promised not to tell Kaiba." Chloe responded and Brandon nodded as Otto drew his card. "And also pointed out that she and Kaiba planned to do everything they could to ensure that the Orichalcos was a distant memory once this is all over."
"Thanks Chloe but I can speak for myself." Sophia's amused voice rang out and Chloe laughed nervously. "Like she said, she wouldn't have used that card otherwise but if she had, well, I'm sure the Pro-Leaguers explained what would happen."
"Yeah, they did." Chloe responded before letting out an annoyed sigh. "We promised to never speak of that incident again and it keeps getting brought up, I swear at this rate it's going to be brought up when I'm on my deathbed."
"And that'll be sooner than you think! It's my move!" Otto responded before looking over his hand. "I activate Cyber Shield Dragon's effect, as it is the only monster, I control I can tribute it to summon two monsters with Cyber Dragon in their name from my deck or graveyard." Otto announced as the dragon vanished from the field and in its place came two Cyber Dragons (5/2100/1600) and their attacks increased to 2600 thanks to the seal. "Don't bother asking Pegasus's spoilt brat if this card is official or not, it isn't."
"Well, thanks for not having me repeat myself I guess." Sophia responded before she handed over the phone to Adrienne. "Did you catch all that Adrienne."
"Oui, and I don't like it one bit." Adrienne nodded before the two women listened in on the duel with the others.
"Let's cut to the chase, Cyber Dragon number one, attack Gene-Warped Warwolf." Otto commanded and the dragon let lose a beam of light at Andreas's monster destroying it and bringing Andreas's life-points down to 7900. "Cyber Dragon number two, attack his life-points." Otto commanded and the dragon prepared its attack…...
"I activate Battle Instinct! As you have just declared a direct attack on my life-points I can Special Summon a Beast Type Monster from my hand, I chose Shield Ape!" Andreas announced as he played the card and a monkey carrying a wooden shield appeared on the field (3/500/1000). "Don't bother trying to destroy it Otto, Shield Ape can survive one attack per round."
"I think I will, Cyber Dragon number 2, resume your attack!" Otto commanded and the dragon breathed its beam of light at Andreas's monster, true to Andreas's word Shield Ape survived with its shield barely intact. "Why would I waste an attack like that? Because I have a facedown card of my own! I activate Cyber Fusion! As this is the middle of the battle phase and both of my Cyber Dragons have attacked, well, think of the card Dragon's Mirror only applied to Cyber Dragons."
"What? Your planning to summon Cyber Twin Dragon? I've seen worse from you Otto." Andreas responded and Otto grinned before the two Cyber Dragons alongside Cyber Shield Dragon where sucked into the portal. "Wait, you can't seriously be about to summon Cyber End Dragon, are you?"
"That's exactly what I'm doing, as long as Cyber Shield Dragon is in the graveyard it counts as a Cyber Dragon monster." Otto responded as the infamous three headed cyber dragon appeared on the field with a roar (10/4000/2800) and its attack increased to 4500 thanks to the seal. "Shall we try this again? Cyber End Dragon, attack his pathetic monster!" Otto commanded and the dragon breathed a massive beam of light at Shield Ape destroying it and bringing Andreas's life-points down to 4400. "One direct attack is all I need to end this! Shame, you put up a much better fight in the battle city semi-finals."
"Maybe but I'm not going down without a fight! Activate trap card Shock Draw! I just took three thousand points of damage which means I can draw three cards." Andreas responded before he drew three cards and sent his card to the graveyard. "Your dragon is powerful Otto but if Chloe can bring it down then so can I."
"Please, she barely brought it down during her duel thanks to a lucky draw! If she hadn't drawn that card when she did then I would've won Battle City." Otto scoffed in response and Chloe glared at him. "And no, your pathetic attempts at a death glare still don't frighten me!"
"Are you just mad that you didn't get a chance to destroy my deck this time? Because it's a lot stronger these days than the one I used in the Battle City Tournament." Chloe responded and Otto growled in response. "I would say be a man and focus on your duel but last I checked real men don't hit women."
"She has you there Otto." Andreas chimed in and Otto's eyes narrowed. "Is it my turn yet?"
"Go ahead, nothing can save you now." Otto responded and Andreas nodded before drawing his card.
"I activate Obedience Schooled, this Spell Card allows me to Special Summon three Level Two or lower Beast Type Monsters from my deck on the condition that they will be banished during the end phase and I can't Special Summon anything except for a Beast Type Monster." Andreas announced as he played the card and picked out three cards. "I chose Mogmole, the Tuner Monster Elephun and Baby Racoon Tantan!"
"More lambs for the slaughter." Otto scoffed as the three weak monsters appeared before him (2/800/800) (2/500/300) and (2/0/800). "If you've given up hope, there are easier ways to surrender."
"You should know better than anyone that I don't give up that easy, I activate Shield Ape's effect from the graveyard, by banishing him I can target two Beast Type Monsters I control and increase their levels once for each monster I control, I chose to increase the levels of Tantan and Mogmole by two." Andreas announced as he pocketed the monster as the two monsters' levels increased to four. "Which means that I can use these monsters to construct the Overlay Network and summon Diamond Dire Wolf!" Andreas announced as he played the cards and the two monsters were sucked into the dark portal before the beautiful wolf appeared on the field with a howl (Rank: 4/2000/1200).
"Your puppy will be put down in due time Andreas." Otto scoffed earning glares from Andreas, Chloe and Nicola.
"There's only one thing being put down and that's Cyber End Dragon! I activate Diamond Dire Wolf's effect! By detaching an overlay unit, I can destroy one Beast Type Monster I control alongside one that you control." Andreas announced and Otto's eyes widened as Elephun vanished from the field and Diamond Dire Wolf leapt at Cyber End Dragon, the dragon put up a good fight but in the end Diamond Dire Wolf ripped out its circuits with his teeth destroying the monster. "I have destroyed the very monster that defeated me at Battle City and now that leaves you! Diamond Dire Wolf, attack his life-points directly!" Andreas commanded and the wolf charged into battle before slashing Otto across the chest bringing his life-points down to 6000. "Wasn't as much damage as he dealt last turn but it's a start."
"That puppy needs declawing, fortunately I have just the card to do it!" Otto responded as his facedown card flipped up. "I activate Damage Condenser, since I just took two thousand points of damage this trap card with allow me to Special Summon one monster from my deck with attack equal too or less then the damage I just took." Otto added before he started inputting commands into his duel disk in search for a card.
"Shame that the Cyber Dragons all have 2100 attack points, otherwise you might have been able to summon the remaining one from your deck." Andreas pointed out and Otto growled.
"Perhaps but I'll settle for the next best thing! Cyber Dragon Core!" Otto responded as he played the card and a small, weaker version of Cyber Dragon appeared on the field (2/400/1500) and its attack points increased to 900 thanks to the seal. "I'll get to its effect later but unless you have another creature to summon from your petting zoo, I will be taking my turn."
"I set one card facedown and end my turn." Andreas announced as he set the card and Otto drew his card.
"What the fool doesn't realize is that I have several ways of getting Cyber End Dragon back on the field, I just need to draw the right card." Otto thought before looking at his drawn card and playing it. "I activate Burial from a Different Dimension, I use this to return the Cyber Dragons and Cyber Shield Dragon used to summon Cyber End Dragon to my graveyard!" Otto announced before reaching into his pocket and returning the three cards to the graveyard. "You can worry about that later, for now I switch Cyber Dragon Core to defense mode and end my turn."
"Why would he return those cards to his graveyard? Last I checked, Pot of Avarice wasn't coming off the ban list anytime soon." Andreas thought as he drew his card and he looked at it. "Diamond Dire Wolf, attack Cyber Dragon Core!" Andreas commanded and the wolf pounced on the defending monster destroying it with ease. "I set another card facedown and end my turn." Andreas announced and Otto smirked before drawing his card.
"I activate the effect of Cyber Dragon Core from my graveyard, with it I can banish it from my graveyard to Special Summon a Cyber Dragon from my deck!" Otto announced as he played the card and Cyber Dragon returned to the field. "Cyber Dragon, attack his wolf!" Otto commanded and the dragon prepared his attack…...
"I activate my facedown card Break Tune!" Andreas announced as the facedown card flipped up. "As you have just declared an attack, I can use this trap; card to Special Summon a tuner monster from my hand and negate the attack! I chose Key Mouse!" Andreas announced as he played the card and the small mouse appeared on the field with a squeak (1/100/100).
"You'll run out of second chances eventually, I end my turn with a facedown card." Otto announced as the facedown card appeared on the field and Andreas drew his card.
"If I am to win this, I need to take out his life-points before he can summon Cyber End Dragon again." Andreas thought before looking at his drawn card. "I activate Foolish Burial to send one monster from my deck to the graveyard!" Andreas announced before he started inputting commands into his Duel Disk and sent the card in question to the graveyard once it popped out. "For my normal summon, I bring out Lock Cat!" Andreas announced before playing the card allowing for the small cat to appear on the field (3/1200/1000). "And finally, I activate Burial Gift! This allows me to special summon the monster I just sent to the graveyard with his level increased by one, albeit with his attack and defense points reduced to zero, Chain Dog!"
"I wasn't aware that this duel was going to turn into a Tom and Jerry reunion." Otto grunted as the large dog appeared on the field with a howl (4/1600/1000) and as soon as it did the dog's level increased to five and its attack and defense dropped to zero. "If you plan to do a Synchro Summon then why wait?"
"I did plan to drag things out but since you insist, I tune my three monsters together!" Andreas announced as Key Mouse, Lock Cat and Chain Dog leapt into the air for the Synchro Summon. "I Synchro Summon Red Baboon, Destroyer of the Forrest!" Andreas announced as he played the card and once the bright flash faded the massive red baboon appeared on the field with a howl (9/2600/1900). "This activates Red Baboon's effect, as I used three monsters to Synchro Summon him, he will destroy one card for each Synchro Material, and I count two!" Andreas explained before Red Baboon leapt into the air….
"It won't be nearly that easy to bring me down, I activate Cyber Energy Shield!" Otto responded as his facedown card flipped up and to Andreas's shock Red Baboon and Diamond Dire Wolf's attack points dropped to zero. "This negates the effects of all monsters you control and reduces their attack points to zero until your next end phase, in addition, as I have a Cyber Dragon on the field it will allow me to add two other Cyber Dragons to my hand and one to my extra deck!"
"So that's why you returned those cards to your graveyard!" Andreas realized as the three monsters where returned to their respective spots. "Don't think I need to ask Sophia about the legality of that card! I set one card facedown and end my turn." Andreas announced as the facedown card appeared on the field and Otto drew his card.
"I'm afraid that it's time I ended this dear brother, and what better way to end it then the exact same way our battle at Battle City ended?" Otto asked before he played the card. "I activate Power Bond fusing the three Cyber Dragons together to bring forth my best monster!" Otto announced and they was a collective gasp as the massive dragon emerged from the portal twice as big as before, only this time with his power increased to 9000. "But why stop there? I activate Limiter Removal!"
"But that attack would kill Andreas!" Chloe protested as the dragon let out a roar as it's power sky-rocketed to 18.0000.
"That's the point, and your next!" Otto snarled before pointing to Diamond Dire Wolf. "Cyber End Dragon, kill my brother!" Otto commanded and the dragon prepared his attack on Diamond Dire Wolf…...
"Have you ever heard the saying "those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it"?" Andreas asked earning a confused look from his bother. "Because you just repeated history! I activate Fiendish Chain!"
"NO!" Otto yelled out but it was too late as the chains ensnared his massive dragon causing it to call off the attack. "I won't lose to my own brother Andreas!"
"Funny, I remember you saying something similar when I did practically the same move at Battle City." Chloe chimed in and Otto glared at her. "Only this time, Power Bond's side effect won't finish you off, but they will." Chloe added as she motioned to Andreas's monsters.
"Take your damn turn, dear brother!" Otto said through grit teeth as Cyber Dragon exploded taking the chains with him as Otto's life-points dropped to 2000, Andreas drew his card but knew it was merely a formality.
"Red Baboon, finish this duel!" Andreas commanded and the baboon slammed his club down upon the ground sending a shockwave towards Otto sending Otto's life-points down to zero. "My, my, how the tables have turned." Andreas commented as he walked up to Otto whilst the seal closed in around him. "Anything you want to say dear brother?"
"You will always be second best Andreas." Otto spat at his brother and Andreas's eyes narrowed.
"Wir konnten durch Blut Otto verwandt sein, aber Sie haben den familiennamen durch ihre handlungen, in Ungnade gerissen sowei ich betroffen bin. Inch habe keinen Bruder." Andreas looked at his twin brother with cold eyes as he spoke in his native language whilst the seal closed in around him, Andreas walked away as Otto's soul was taken by the Orichalcos and turned to the others.
"What did you just tell him?" Brandon asked and Andreas sighed.
"I said "we may be related by blood Otto, but you have disgraced the family name through your actions, as far as I'm concerned, I have no brother.", it is something that I've waited a long time to tell him." Andreas explained as he glanced over his shoulder at his brother's lifeless form. "There can't be many floors left, I suggest that we get a move on."
"Agreed." Brandon nodded before they raced up the stairs to the next floor, when they reached the fifth floor Chelsea's eyes narrowed when she spotted a familiar figure.
"DAN!" Chelsea called out to him as she saw her ex sitting on a desk with a smirk on his face. "It's time you paid for what you did to my sister."
"And it's time you paid for breaking my heart." Dan commented with a smirk as he hopped off the desk. "But not right away, I want to see you squirm as I defeat your friends one by one." Dan added before he turned to Brandon. "And I think I'll start with Brandon!"
"That's fine by me." Brandon nodded as they activated their duel disks.
