Sora walked across the wooden bridge that connected the two islands. The feeling of the setting sun upon his face reminded him that he was home, and boy was he happy to be there. After what felt like years of endless fighting he was home, surrounded by friends and there was no better feeling than that.

His friends were on the island as well, of course, celebrating the end of the war with Xehanort. After he sat on the Paopu tree on the tiny island, Sora looked back to see a peaceful sight. Best buds Roxas and Axel, along with Isa and Xion were enjoying a game on the beach nearby. Namine was also there with Hayner, Pence, and Olette in trying to apologize to Donald and Goofy for ruining a sand sculpture and poor Mickey tried to help the angry duck keep his cool. Master Keyblade wielders Aqua, Terra, and Ven sat together on the dock watching everything unfold with smiles. Then there was Riku, who stood on the beach looking at Sora.

The two made eye contact, and without speaking a word and relying on nothing but mutual understanding, Riku got the message.

The silver-haired boy turned around and waved to the groups of friends on the beach. They all heard him and he motioned for them to follow, with only Donald wanting to know why they had to leave. Goofy dragged him away kicking and screaming while Riku gave Sora the thumbs up.

Sora was grateful for this time alone. He needed it this time, more than he ever had before, and thankfully Riku knew.

Sora heard footsteps coming from behind him and he turned to see Kairi making her way towards their favorite spot. She got on the tree and sat next to him.

They didn't greet each other, words weren't necessary now.

Kairi's hand found Sora's, and they remained locked as they gazed into each other's eyes. There were things both of them had wanted to say to the other, but again words weren't needed, for they knew that their connection was so strong it could never be broken. Even if they were separated, they would find each other again.

Sora would keep Kairi safe.

Kairi would guide him, and keep him safe as well.

They both knew this.

Sora gently squeezed her hand, and Kairi giggled before she turned to look out into the setting sun. Sora did the same, feeling more complete than he ever had before.

Kairi eventually leaned her head on Sora's shoulder and sighed comfortably.

Sora smiled.

He was home.

Home with Kairi, and there was nothing more he could have asked for.

To be honest I still can't wrap my head around the KHIII ending, so I made this as a response to make me all happy and giddy again, also for my annual Valentine's Day submission. Sooo...happy lover's day!
