Kindling
A/N: This sounded fun-so I'll write from Rei's POV. In the Stars will be Wednesday-because I still am trying to figure out where to start with Usagi. Oops! Anyway, hope you guys enjoy!
. . .
Hmph.
Usagi and her big head always "falling in love". Like I haven't heard that from her a million times. When I first met her it was Tuxedo Mask. Then it was Motoki. Now...none other than Mamoru Chiba. I guess I can't exactly say "none other" considering for the past month she has told me how much she hated the guy. So I went and doted on him because-duh. Cute older guy within range!
He never paid attention to me, go figure. His mind was always somewhere else and in retrospect I understand. There has never been anyone else for him than Usagi. His little Odango. Her baka. A perfect couple, a match made for those who pay attention.
They pretend to fight. I actually think they've even fooled themselves. Everyday like clockwork there is something new to fight about. Usagi's grades. Mamoru's dense mind. Who Motoki likes better. Or something trivial occurring around the area. But it's all an act in the end.
"Mamoru-bakkaaa," Usagi whines, tugging at his sleeve. "Give it back to me!"
I look up too see the dark haired man holding a paper above his head while pushing my friend away with another hand. A smile plays at the corner of his lips and I cannot help but laugh. It surely is a sight to be seen. "Wow, Odango. Is this a seventy percent I'm seeing here?"
Usagi's eyes look away and she drops his sleeves. Her cheeks puff out and she purses her lips. "You don't need to make such a big deal out of it."
Mamoru brings his hand down and hands the paper back to my friend with a smile. "Why not? I'm proud of you, Odango. Best grade I think I've seen out of you."
Turning away before Usagi can make a retort that ruins my image of the duo, I smile. I may have not gotten Mamoru but that's because his heart has been captured since the moment he met Usagi. It is just the beginning...but has the potential for so much more.
"A-Arigato, baka."
I glance back in time to see her cheeks flush bright red.
If they just open their eyes a little bit.
. . .
A/N: Ta-da! Just a taking a break from my AP Lit work (Brave New World) and wanted a little bit of fun. hope this was adequate!
