Red String
A/N: Experimental Fiction? I honestly don't know what this is. But perhaps it's a nice thought? Please enjoy!
. . .
Fate has a funny complex really.
Star crossed lovers should be that once- every- couple- hundred- years kind of deal. And yet it seems that whenever it gets the chance, fate decides that the best kind of love spurs from something so stupidly abstract that their lovers of choice have no chance in the whole universe of working out. It ends differently but still all the same: Heartbreak.
It's honestly sick beyond comprehension. Happens all the time and has different names throughout all of history. Usually ends in death. But does Fate ever learn? I think not. If anything, Fate only becomes more fervent in its attempts to make it work. And the cycle begins once again:
Star Crossed Lovers.
Young Love Versus Fate.
Love Beyond Station.
Romeo And Juliet Complex.
Thousands of soulmates torn apart by the fickle game Fate plays.
Their only luck would be a salvation from the Powers That Be. Ususally Unlikely. However, in some cases The Powers recieve one of Fate's failures and decide that the love deserves a second chance. In these situations The Powers tie an unbreakable red string to the wrists of each member of the relationship and drop them back on the earth. And it's then that the once Star Crossed lovers can finally find their happily ever after.
The rest?
Is History.
. . .
Fate screwed up the first time around for this couple.
But this time just a tug at the red string The Powers tied at their wrists and it all tumbling into place.
A carelessly tossed test paper.
A teasing joke.
Flushed cheeks.
Even as they walk away, they don't forget, rubbing absentmindedly at their wrists as they turn back and meet each other's eyes. Again.
He's handsome.
She's cute.
Of course they would meet again.
Miracle Romance.
. . .
