Lost ?

Harry kept an eye on Ros as they headed towards his 4x4. The clouds, heavy with unshed rain matched Ros' demeanour. He knew better than to ask if she was ok.

"Thames House."

"Yes." Ros climbed into the passenger seat, the tension radiating from her like heat. Harry nodded once before starting the engine, hoping that by the time they got back to base Lucas would have turned up.

His legs were far too long to be trapped in the boot of a car without cramping. Lucas closed his eyes, cursing the cramping pain that went along with the worst headache he had ever known. He had no idea how he had ended up in the boot, only that now he had come to his senses he had to get back to the Grid. He cursed under his breath as the car hit a pothole as he forced himself to believe he was going to see Ros and their children again.

"Calum." Ruth crossed the Grid towards the workstation he shared with Tariq and Malcolm. The remaining offices on the Grid gave it a sense of chaos. "Any luck with Lucas' tracker."

"Sorry. No." Calum was clearly frustrated. "Tariq is trying to activate a signal boost by pairing the signal of Lucas' tracker with any mobile phone network in his area via Bluetooth."

Beth raised an eyebrow. "In English?"

"They think they can piggyback the signal to the mobile phone network." Ruth stated as Calum nodded. "Dimitri and Erin are following up a lead on the clones. They've been out of range for a while." She pulled her mobile phone from her skirt pocket as Calum and Beth carried on chatting. Ruth slipped away.

"Harry?"

"It wasn't him." Harry stated firmly as Ruth audibly sighed in relief. "It appears that the target is original members of B. Recall everyone. I'm heading back now. I want a full team in the Briefing Room."

"Dimitri, Erin, Zoe and Will are out following targets and meeting assets." Ruth explained.

"Recall them." He ended the call as Ros spoke for the first time since he had begun driving. "Harry, let me talk to this pray who thinks he's Darshan."

"You know I'm not going to allow that." He glanced in the rear view mirror as he spoke.

"If Section B members are targets then I'm not in the firing line."

"If it were anyone other than Lucas missing then I would agree." Harry swerved the car to avoid a cyclist before heading down a random side street. "We appear to have picked up a friend."

"Interesting," Ros slumped slightly in her seat, checking her gun before looking to see the blacked out Audi behind them. "Concerned?"

"Potentially." Harry agreed. He tapped the phone button on the dashboard, relieved when Catherine answered. "Run this number plate through the PNC." He read out the numbers and letters as Ros slipped her seatbelt off.

"Dad?"

"We are on the way back. Would just like to know who our new fan club is." He kept his eyes on the road as they headed away from the city centre. The feeling that whoever was in the car behind them was also responsible for Lucas' disappearing act and the death toll rhyming up wouldn't leave him. His foot pressed on the accelerator as they reached the motorway, swerving across lanes as their tail continued to follow them.

"Got it." Catherine's disembodied voice came through the air. "Dunno who's driving but the DVLA database and the PNC state it belongs to Vladimir Khrushchev. A man who is apparently dead." Harry frowned as he approached the motorway turn off. He had no desire to turn the M1 from the biggest Car park to the biggest battle ground.

"Tenacious little scumbags." Ros glared as Harry told her to put her belt back on. "Why?"

"My godchildren are getting at least one parent home tonight."

Ros glared, aware they were about to leave the motorway as Harry lead them to a lay-by before slamming the breaks on, forcing their tail to either swerve or hit torn. Screeching breaks filled the air as Harry spun the car around. The driver of the Audi was too slow, ploughing the black car into a ditch as Harry and Ros left them behind.
