Return?
Lucas opened his eyes, unsure where he was for a moment. His head throbbed and the nausea washed over him.
"It's ok." He heard a faint Scottish accent. He blinked. "You're in Hospital. You've had an operation to fix your legs and the wound on your side. You're ok."
"K."
Lucas felt himself relax. He reassured himself that he wasn't in Russia. The Gulag was history; a figment of his dreams. He took a gulp of oxygen knowing that none of his Russian interrogators had Scottish accents.
"Ros?"
"Is that the lady that was with you earlier? Before theatre?"
Lucas smiled slightly. She had been there. It wasn't his mind playing tricks on him.
"She said she would be back. Had to make sure the kids were ok."
Lucas smiled, allowing the remnants of anaesthesia to take him back to a more normal sleep.

"Not the welcome I was hoping for." Adam touched his head gingerly looking for any sign of blood or trauma. Zaf shrugged as he helped his friend get to his feet.
"You have a way of making an impression."
"True. Will?"
"Thinking he can outrun a car."
"We were the same. He's trying to live up to his dad's legacy." Adam looked around as Will appeared with a man dressed as a security guard.
"Lads, this is Paul. Security at the football museum. Got footage of our little skirmish."
"Really?" Zaf raised an eyebrow. "Doesn't data protection mean we have to get a warrant?"
"Well, your man ere tells me you're police so as long as you don't tell me boss."
Adam smiled.
"You boy, look like you've been hit with a truck."
"Almost." Adam agreed.
"Cmon en. One cuppa and me first aid box is in the cabin." Paul led the way as Will hung back. Adam looked at him pointedly.
"Did I mention Paul is my cousin? On my mum's side." He smiled as Adam rolled his eyes. It seemed the newest boy on the team was more of a spook than they'd given him credit for.

"I don't like this." Ruth tapped the keys on her computer, pulling up Lee's personnel file. Harry watched the screen over her shoulder. "Tariq looked into his account. For the last three months his wages from Thames House have gone in on the 23rd as normal. But then there's this payment in that seems unaccounted for. I've cross correlated the bank details with the IP address this payment came from."
"And?" Ros asked as she joined them.
"It's from the cloning scheme. Or at least what's left of it. Romanov is dead. Most of the known clones are."
"But Lee?"
"Isn't who he said he was." Harry ran a hand over his face. "Ros."
"Then who the Hell is he?" Ros glared.
"The grandson of Piotr Romanov. And we never knew." Ruth felt sick as she thought about the young man they'd all liked. He'd deceived them all.
"Hiding in plain sight." Malcolm confirmed. "I'll run the blood sample Sarah brought in against the DNA we have on record for him. If it matches." He shook his head sadly.
"If it is I'm seriously going to destroy the head of Human Resources." Harry growled. "Who the Hell Is doing background checks?"
"Langham's office." Ruth slumped back in her chair. "Why? That's what I can't understand. Why now? Who's helping him? Why finish your grandfather's work?"
"Pull the sister in." Ros glared. "He thinks he has leverage over us. Time the tables were turned."
