Bright idea
"Alec." Zoe shivered as she headed down the fire escape. "Next time warn us. The computer system."
"Can be replaced." Malcolm interjected, uncharacteristically defensive of the former IA man. He knew he was Sarah's friend but both men had little else in common. Alec smiled slightly.
"We're out. Aren't we?" He ran a hand through his soaking wet hair as his clothes cling to him. Malcolm nodded, ever the gentleman he handed Zoe his jacket. She smiled gratefully.
"Thanks, wet t shirt competitions were never my style." She slipped the jacket over her as they began to congregate at the edge of the Thames.
"I'm going to check on Dimitri." Tariq stated as he joined the group. "Must be a public phone around here somewhere." Tariq shrugged. "Mobile is ruined."
"Two streets away." Ruth answered. "Just at the foot of the bridge. Get dry and changed first." She shivered slightly as she spoke. "I need to get into the record room. Catherine?"
"She's with Calum and Will." Stan stated as he joined them. "You've made a right mess! Is this to do with Lee?"
"Dunno." Ruth answered honestly. "But I'm going to find out." She slipped past the fire engines that had started to arrive and headed into the building.

"Ros." Adam opened the door as Lucas and Ros stepped into the flat. The Section Chief looked on the verge of losing her temper. All the men in the room knew how spectacularly dangerous she could be if she chose to.
"This her?"
"Yeah." Zaf nodded. "Nicola, this is our boss."
Nicola looked up as Ros approached her. A slight smile crossed her face as she kneeled in front of the younger woman.
"We know you have nothing to do with this. That you have been helping my colleagues since you've been aware of what's going on. People are dead and we know that your little brother has got involved in some vendetta from the Cold War. Now he's in it up to his neck and if you don't help us find him then he's going to drag you down too."
"No, he's."
"The younger brother of a lawyer. A very talented and well thought of professional woman. Can't see how having a terrorist and murderer in the family is going to help that image. Might put potential employers off."
Nicola narrowed her eyes, hating the way Ros kept her voice low and calm. She held her gaze as Ros picked up the discarded mobile before handing it to her. "Call your brother. Get him here. I don't care what you tell him just get him here."
"I."
"Now." Ros gave no room for argument as Nicola called her brother.
"Hi. It's me."

"Becky, I need all the case files from when Henry Parks was in charge of what was Section B." Ruth smiled hopefully as the middle aged woman raised an eyebrow.
"You do know how many files that is. Could you be more specific?" Her spectacles slid down her nose as she spoke, reminding Ruth of an old school harridan.
"Specifically any where Juliet Shaw, Harry Pearce, Sarah Lloyd, Yasmin Thomas, Malcolm Wynn-Jones and Connie James we're involved."
"I see."
"I can find them myself." Ruth folded her arms, still feeling the cold through her soaked shirt and cardigan. "Just thought I'd go through the proper channels."
The middle aged woman glared at Ruth who held her gaze. "Fine." She tapped a few keys on the computer before handing Ruth a slip of paper.

Ros took the handset from Nicola without warning.
"Excuse me interrupting." Ros spoke calmly on the phone. "You know exactly who I am. Only thing is I don't think you know what I'm capable of." She paused, a sly smile crept on her face. Zaf began fiddling with his phone. "Nicola is fine. For now. You see, people have died. Innocent people. You seem to be implicated in most of the deaths."
She paused, glancing at Zaf.
"No, I strongly suggest you listen to me. You are in this up to your neck. May I remind you that you were there when my husband was left for dead in a burning car. So, you're right you made this personal. And I'm not one to hold grudges but I do end them. Get back here. Meet one of my team and have them bring you in." She gripped the phone so tight, her knuckles were blanched white. "Because if you don't, I promise you that you will understand what it feels like to see someone you care about apparently dead."
Nicola looked shaken as Ros spoke. "Look around you. You're in one of the most observed countries in the world. CCTV everywhere. If I don't find you then your new friend will."
Zaf nodded as Ros ended the call. "Got it."
"Yeah." Zaf nodded. "Adam?"
Adam picked up his jacket as he turned to her. "Play nicely." He headed out of the flat with Zaf as Nicola hung her head in her hands. Lucas took pity on her, moving to sit next to her. Sighing she turned to him.
"Lee doesn't tell me much. He used to tell me everything, we were so close. Until he went looking for our birth family." She shook her head sadly. "He was normal until then."
"He changed?"
"Yeah. Became secretive. Stopped telling me things. Then it turned out our birth mother was murdered by the FSB. I'd never heard of them. She'd been a double agent apparently. So she was killed and a friend of hers got us to the UK. Lee was a few weeks old and I was nearly two. He became fascinated with finding out as much about her as he could. Which led him to that monster he insists on calling our grandfather."
"You don't?"
"I'm English. My parents are English. There's nothing remotely Russian about me. Anyway, Lee kept going on about finishing his grandfathers work. Romanov was some big deal apparently. I dunno."
Ros crossed the room to her before sitting down. Nicola looked up. "I promise you. I'm nothing to do with this. Lee was never like this. Never violent."
"This ends today." Ros watched the younger woman.

Harry was getting more annoyed as time went on. The DG was clearly furious as he walked away. Harry pinches his nose in exasperation before looking up to see Zoe walk towards him.
"This has better be good."
"Calum thinks he has found the source of the communication issue. Ruth has gone back to get records and Zaf called."
"And."
"He's heading to a secure location with Adam and Lee." Harry nodded, knowing exactly where the location was. "And Beth's condition has stabilised."
"Which means?"
"I spoke to Dimitri. The doctors say she's still unwell but she's not brain dead. There's enough activity in her brain to show recovery is possible."
Harry smiled slightly, knowing that was the best news they could hope for. He watched the various fire engines and personnel head away before heading back into the building. He had to find Ruth, with Lee in custody there was a fair chance they were nearer to stopping what Calum had taken to calling the attack on the clones. He couldn't shake the feeling they would never tie up all the loose ends, that Lee had been a scapegoat and ruined his life and others for an ideology that wouldn't be supported by those he thought protected him. Some mysteries just didn't get solved. Harry prayed this wasn't one of them.
