Chapter 11

Sophie POV

Sophie locked herself in my room for days, weeks, months, she couldn't tell. Fitz's last words haunted her mind. She didn't eat or talk. Sophie just stared at the ceiling, letting tears fall. She would get over it, Sophie told herself. She just needed time to heal and a distraction. And boy was she about to get one.

There was a knock on Sophie's door, and then the click and shifting of the door being opened. And closed. A voice like honey spoke.

"Sophie, I brought you some food." A male spoke to her, his tone was soft. Sophie decided to pull herself together, no more crying, no more sadness. She was done letting people tell her what to do, and she was tired of everything going wrong because of it. She whipped her tears away and sat up.

Honey voice was tall with medium golden brown hair. His ultramarine blue eyes deepened in the dark of her room as he slowly walked to Sophie's bed. He was very handsome, with a little stubble on his strong jawline and muscled suntanned skin. He bowed, handing Sophie a plate with brightly colored fruit on it.

"My name is Adbaldar Wreneas," Adbaldar winced, "But my friends call me Rae." He said sitting on the edge of my bed.

"I have Astrakinesis, with Froster and Polyglot abilities," Adbaldar continued softly, "I can manipulate energy, mostly solar. That's why I was exiled to The Forbidden Cities. I was too strong, and the Council couldn't control me." Adbaldar looked at the wall, "They killed my parents for having me, for keeping me a secret."

"They forced me to leave mine," Sophie said her voice scratchy, "My 9-year-old sister too. After making me brainwash them."

"I am sorry, Adbaldar," Sophie said quietly. As it would make him feel better. His beautiful dark eyes bored into her's, searching for something, anything.

"I am sorry, Sophie," Adbaldar said, his hand reaching up to wipe a tear from her cheek. When his hand touched Sophie's skin warm sparks shot through her skin. Like wind on a hot summer day, or the sound of thunder in the rain.

"I guess you do have to be careful about what you wish for," Sophie said, most definitely distracted.
