A beautifully wealthy family was what this luckily 10-year-old boy was born into. Even so young he thirsted for the power that this life had given him. He drowned in unimaginable wealth, he had servants that would come as soon as he called and do everything he wanted, and most importantly everyone knew him and was absolutely terrified of him. It was pure bliss for the young blonde. Even at such a young age he knew that the only way to make it in this world was to have power.
His family however had other ideas. They did countless hours of charity services and treated the people with kindness and understanding. It sickened him. They were born into riches and power and they squandered it.
Worst of all the people didn't appreciate what the family did.
The boy, his parents, and his younger brother were out for a walk one day to go serve at a soup kitchen and they were jumped by some thugs. They were bound, blind folded, and brought to the square of the town. They were tied to posts and stoned.
The older blonde boy could hear his brother beg for death while he sobbed uncontrollably and his could hear his farther pleading with the crowd to stop and begging them to answer why they were doing this.
"The Donquixote family has always been cruel, narcissistic people that abused their power. They are breed malicious. When pure evil runs through a bloodline it is only a matter of time until the descendants are corrupted to." The child didn't recognize the voice but he could tell it was an older man set in his ways.
"Your ancestors killed my child and showed no remorse!"
"My daughter was raped by one of you! She was so scarred she committed suicide!"
The young boy was not scared by all the threats. He was not scared even though each time he was pelted with another stone, a new wound would open up and blood seeped down his face and through his clothes.
The young blonde was simply enraged.
He lashed against his chain causing them to cut into his thin wrists. He roared with the last bit of energy in his lungs, "I WILL SURVIVE THIS AND I WILL KILL EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!"
*Lillian POV*
Just casually get tea today. There is a cart in the break room mugs and all.
Law did his best to prepare me last night. Ways to mask my emotion and keep my nerves down, but he was still honest and said that I would have to be mentally prepared that horrible, unspeakable things might happen to me especially because I am a girl.
He told me it was most important to be strong; if I stayed strong Doflamingo would continue to play with me. If I was weak, he would take advantage of me, break me, and toss me out like trash.
I step into the employee's lounge taking off my hat and leather gloves and shoving them into the pockets of my sapphire coat.
There were simple white mugs with the same design as Doflamingo's business card hanging on a wooden rack next to coffee makers and Keurig.
Lucky Doflamingo wanted a fancy employee lounge.
I open and close the Keurig to make sure there wasn't an old cup in and hit the button to boil water.
Opening my purse, I fish out the lavender and chamomile tea bag I brought with me.
When I turn to set it in my cup, I am met with a familiar man's face that was very much invading my personal bubble.
"You're from the bar the night of my performance." I step back from man enjoying my personal space and my nose not being invaded by his rancid morning breath.
"Are you not surprised?" His voice was just slimy as the mucus that dripped form his nose.
I turn toward my cup, placing the bag in the hot water and act indifferent like Law told me too, "Honestly nothing surprises me anymore. What did you say your name was?"
"The name is Trebol. Why the tea? Having bad withdrawal symptoms or did Doffy already give you something to be anxious about?" He tried to step closer but I turn and put my hot mug to create a barrier between us.
I bob my tea bag up and down and plaster on fake smile, "Both."
I spin on my heals and march toward the elevator, hearing Trebol's footsteps follow me, "Not even surprised that I knew about any of that."
Shrugging I answer him flatly, "Not even a little. I bet every employee of this damn corporation knows my whole story." I wobble a bit in my dress heels trying not to spill my tea at the quickened pace I was going trying to flee the annoyingly nosy man, "What department do you work in?"
He reaches around me brushing my side so he can ever so graciously hit the elevator button for me, "Would you believe me if I said head of personnel?"
I step into the elevator and turn to face Trebol and let out a small scoff, "Not even a little bit."
I blow on my tea and give him a small smile and wave, "Might want to blow your nose sir."
The last thing I see was the scruff on the slimy man's face pulls into a deep frown.
Take a deep breathe. You put on a fake face with you dad for years you can do this.
However, my dad never tried to molest me so there is fucking that.
The elevator dings open and my heel click against the tiles.
As I settle in, I notice a to do list that Baby5 had left of random faxes, phones calls, and appointments I had to make.
I dive into my purse one more time to grab the device Franky gave me.
The whole world felt like it slowed down when I plugged it in and put my mug on top of it. I was so sure that something bad was going to happen. I couldn't actually get information this easy.
When my phone vibrated it made me jump out of my skin.
It was a message from Franky that said super with a thumbs up emoji.
That was easy.
I couldn't tell if I should actually be worried or it had just been so hammered into my head that nothing good can happen to me.
The elevator door dings and my favorite gentleman walks out.
Doflamingo looked weirdly normal with a red button down and black slacks under his feathered coat.
"Good afternoon sir." I chirp only lifting my gaze from my computer for a second.
The worry lines on his forehead were deep, "I am going to rest in my office for a while so I am not available for the next hour."
Without waiting for a response, he slipped into his office and slammed the double doors behind him.
I hated to think what would cause him to get into that sort of mood.
Work went smoothly. Franky even messaged me saying that the plan went super well and that he was able to even get a couple promising leads to follow.
I was on top of the world.
When I finally started to relax, I heard terrified scream from Doflamingo's office.
I gave no regards to what Doflamingo told me and I threw open to the doors to his office, "Are you okay?"
He was half sat up on sofa in his office clutching his head with his large hand covering his eyes. Beads of sweats rolled down his face and he was panting to catch his breathe. I notice his glasses were on the coffee table and his coat was hung on his chair.
I dash to his private bath and wet a washcloth with cool water and grab a dry towel.
When I made it back, he was sitting up with his glasses now covering his unknown eyes still evening his breath.
I kneel one leg on the white sofa, "Here. Let me. It will feel nice I promise."
A large arm ensnares my waste and pulls me into his lap. I could tell he was forcing the nasty smile on his face probably embarrassed I caught him in such a state, "If you rather be my personal handmaid, I can arrange that. I bet you would divine in a nurse costume."
Even sitting in his lap, the top of my head barely reached his shoulder. I guide his head down with my free hand making his glasses slip down his nose a bit. I dab his forehead gently, "I would be easier if you kept your glasses off." I give him my best doctor glare.
He scoots them up the bridge of his nose with his middle finger, "You know that doctor's pride is going to get you killed or worse dearie."
I trade the washcloth for my dry towel, "And you won't be able to hide all of your secrets with everyone trying to unveil them sir."
His tanned hand captures mine as I try to lower the dry towel and make my escape, "I thought after our moment of intimacy yesterday, you would stop calling me sir." His voice was more playful and lighter than normal.
I try to stand again but he keeps planted on his lap with the strength of a single arm. I return the tone, "What do I get in return if I stop calling you sir?"
A laugh rumbles in his chest, "Are you proposing a game my sweet Lily?"
Risk it? Risk it.
"Yes." I meet his hidden gaze. Trying to hid how much I knew I was going to regret this, but part of me wanted to see if I could do it.
The same small part of me that craved the adrenaline rush from doing something ridiculous like cliff jumping.
Cliff jumping would be safer.
"What do you propose the rules be?" He draws inpatient circles on my hip with his long fingers.
"We offer a simple trade of information or action for what we want to know. We can deny the offer or we can make a counter offer if we don't see the price as just. Sound fair?" I lick my dry lips hoping that he would bite.
"I'll play." Doflamingo relinquished his grip letting me up, letting out an amused chuckle when I flee to sit across form him on the coffee table.
"What were you having night terrors about?" I lean my elbows on my knees, "What would you want for that?"
The blonde leans back and sprawls out letting a smile creep on his face, "If you want to know my mental scars, show me the ones I caused you."
Of course, it is something pervy like that.
"You want to see my transplant scars?" He simple nods and licks his lips hungry. I pause for a moment and ponder, "Okay, but only if you add who cut me open."
"Fine. A little unfair but I'll give you this one since we are just warming up." The perverse man agrees a little too quickly gesturing to the buttons on the dark emerald blouse I was wearing.
It is just skin. It is just a shirt.
I fiddle with the top button for a moment to long that I could feel Doflamingo presence adding extra pressure. I finally undo the top button, "Start. What was it? All of it. Don't cheap me out."
Second button. Third. Fourth. Fifth.
"I was dreaming about the time my family and I were captured and stoned in the middle of town when I was a kid by the people that my parents dedicated their lives to helping." His voice came out cold and venomous.
My fingers stop on the last button, "What?" My voice cracks in my throat.
For some reason it never crossed my mind something bad could have happened to him. I never saw him as human.
"Shirt off and I'll continue." Only a small grin pulled at his lips the memories nerfing his playful attitude a bit.
My emerald shirt falls onto the coffee table and I stand just in a ruby bra that had a black over lay.
Goosebumps creeped up spine and chest.
Doflamingo licks his slips slowly and bites his bottom, "All of those are because of me." His voice was laced with pure ecstasy.
Last night flashes over and over in my brain.
I could feel the heat of his hand on the buttons of my black dress pants slowly undoing them.
My brain screamed to get out and the other half was trying to reason if I stayed calm, I could get information.
I fold my arms over my chest, "Finish." I forced the confidence in my voice.
He scoots to the edge of the couch his legs framing each side of mine, openly adjusting the crotch of his pants, "My parents volunteered for the community. Went out into the community to listen to their petty problems. They were disgustingly good people that didn't care about power even though it was thrust upon them. The people however didn't care. They believed since my ancestors abused their power that my parents would eventually turn on them too."
I could see a vein bulge in his forehead, "So we were jumped, tied up in the town center, and stoned. My parents should have treated them like the ants they were. Then at least they would have been too scared to try anything."
My lips parted as I just stared at him in disbelief.
How does something like that still happen? Could he once have been human?
Doflamingo touches my kidneys scar and I snatch his hand away by his wrist, "You said look not touch. Who took my organs?"
He lets out a howling laughter, "Where did all the confidence come from? Dr. Hogback did that. He was the one that trained Law."
In one fluid motion he stands up and caress my check with a strong hand, "I want to keep playing, but I have important business to attend to. Go on a date with me tonight." He sounded absolutely delighted, "I will even be so kind and promise that I will take you to a public place and return you home by midnight."
I try to search his face but his glasses masked all of his emotions. I furrow my brow, "Now why would you be that nice to me? That sounds like a trap."
He bends down and lets his hot breath brushing my ear, "I am just having way much fun with you. You are a lot more interesting than I thought you were yesterday."
"Fine. Only if I have your word that there won't be any more forced intimacy." I stick out my hand, "I shouldn't have to worried unless you aren't even man enough to keep your word."
"You have my word," His monstrous hands engulfs mine. "I'll even take you somewhere nice and have an outfit prepared for you."
The door swung open and Rosi walks in to Doflamingo cozy to me and me just in a bra and dress pants.
Rosi gonna kill him. Full on murder right here right now.
His russet eyes doubled in size. For once in his life he was coordinated enough to take steps across the room, take off his feathery coat, and wraps it around me.
I couldn't imagine what he was thinking of me.
The clumsy man threats over me awhile turning me this way and that to make sure I am okay.
He pulls out his phone and shows me a message that is asking if I was okay.
I can't help but smile at him. He always knew how to make me smile.
When he reaches to hand me my shirt, he trips over the arm of the couch. From the floor he extends my shirt up to me.
A small giggle escapes my throat as I pull his coat tighter around me. It smelt of old cigarettes and a wood. Maybe cedar.
"Don't worry so much little brother. Lily and I were just having some fun." The older man claps a hand down on his brother's shoulder reassuring him. "It is so weird seeing you so concerned with the kiddos."
Rosi throws him a sharp glare.
Doflamingo turns his gaze to me smirking, "I know she is different but that is what I am counting on."
Rosi pushes me a roughly to the bathroom to change.
Out of the corner of my eye I can see him handing Doflamingo some papers with a smile and a muted laugh.
After I change, I clutch the side of the sink and take a deep breath.
What am I doing? Oh I am going to throw up. Fuck fuck fuck. How can Law do this all the time? Shit shit.
I quickly change knowing it would look suspicious if I spent too much time in the bathroom.
I run my fingers along the deep purple feathers knocking up more of Rosi scent into my nose before I extend the coat back to him, "Thank you Rosi."
He scratches something down; the paper simply says Corazoan on it.
"Is Cora okay?" I ask not wanting to be formal with the man that was like a father to me.
He nods gleefully causing his sandy blonde hair to bounce.
I look toward Doflamingo and let a sassy little smirk sir on my lips, "Is that all sir?"
His forehead vein bulged with annoyance, "I am going to have you calling me Doffy by the end of the night."
*Law POV*
I lift my hands over my head and stretch out the lean muscles of my back. I was sore from sleeping on Lily's couch.
I tried my hardest to comfort her last night but I honestly didn't know how to minus telling her the truth.
Just don't be weak. Don't be scared of Doflamingo. Be smarter and one step ahead.
Nights like last night were a risk. No matter how horrid it sounded it was true.
Her eyes looked lifeless when I told her. I wanted to help but Doflamingo kept shattering the pieces I put back together.
Knock. Knock.
Lily was supposed to be home soon maybe her hands were too full to open the door.
The door swings open and my vision is bombarded by dark feather.
"No." I attempt to swing the door shut.
A brown shoe is jams into the door, "I am twice your size. I win this fight."
I push against the door with all my might until I feel him fight back. That's when I jump back and let Corazoan's force drive him forward and dive headfirst onto the group with a very satisfying crack.
"You really should learn how to walk through doors." I smirk amused watching him fumble to stand again.
His gruff voice doesn't seem amused, "You should be nicer or I'll stop bringing you gifts."
He tosses his coat over a kitchen chair showing off a soft blue button up underneath that had a brown messenger bag strap across it.
Corazoan opens the bag unveiling pretty large stack of Manila folders.
Okay I am intrigued.
"Are you going to show me or just stand there." I sneer trying to mask my curiosity.
With a large hand he waves me over to the coffee table and spreads out the folder, "For years I have been making duplicates of documents that I can, hoping that I would find something useful. There is bound to be things my eyes didn't pick up on and things that you don't know."
I reach a tattooed hand to the document and his large hand carefully stops mine, "Lily's and your family's medical records are in here too. If you want me to take them out I can."
I pause my hand for a moment and look up to his russet eyes, "Let's start with those."
A handful of cases were spread out in front of me. I knew the thickest ones belonged to Lami and Lily.
I let out a tired sigh and flip through my parents thinking theirs would be the simplest.
As my eyes sift through the reports, I notice a very unpleasant discrepancy, "Cause of death is said to be smoke inhalation but the coroner's report says there were gunshot wounds in the chest."
I grip the folder so tight it dents; my voice was low and dark, "My parents were shot and you decided to not mention it?"
Corazoan picks at his fingers anxiously and give me stern look, "You didn't really give me time too with all of yelling." His large body leans over the coffee table, "Look at who signed the reports though. There the same as when Lily had her organs stolen, when her dad and mom died, and when your sister died."
The signature was awful and illegible. I could only make out the sharped curved C's that started the first and last names.
I flip the paper toward Corazoan, "Do you know who this is?"
He leans his full weight back quickly makes the springs in the armchair creek and groan, "I was hoping you would."
The folders make a satisfying thud when I slam them onto the coffee table out of frustration, "What use are you? You work for Doflamingo but have zero information."
The tired man let's out a huff, "My brother only lets me deal with certain aspects of the company. He put me in charge of investments, bankrupting rival companies, port trading, other trading on the black market and other things along the income line. Doflamingo does more with the manipulation of people and forgery of documents."
A deep sigh leaves my chest and I shoot Franky a message seeing if he knew who CC was from Lily's files she stole today.
"Ahhhhhh." The blond man starts flipping his hands in circles.
I cast my eyes to him under my brows, "Spit it out. Unless you're so clumsy you trip over your own sentences."
"Sooooo. When I walked into my office today Lily was shirtless with Doflamingo towering over her and once she left the office Doffy told me that she agreed to go out with him tonight and he was going to take her to the Grand Line." He takes a quick breath and shoots me an uncomfortable smile after his rapid fire run on sentence.
"Wait. WHAT!?"
The door clicks open and Lily comes in with a black puffy dress bag consuming most of her vision. "What the hell did you do? "I bombard her with my rage.
"Well hello to you too." She snips sarcastically.
A brunette head appears from behind the bag, "Oh Rosi your here too. Hello there. What a pleasant surprise."
Corazoan returns the greeting with a wave and a smile.
A large grimace fills her face making her right eye wink shut, "Soooo you defiantly know what happened today." She moves her sight line to the bathroom, "I gotta change."
"Lilly don't you dare evade this conversation!" I launch myself over the back of the couch and sprint to the bathroom door only to have it slammed on my face.
"When I told you should stay strong and put up a good fight, I didn't mean to literally throw yourself at Doflamingo!" I shout through the bathroom door, "Did you forget that he forced himself on you just yesterday!? What kind of idiot are you?" I pound on the door, "Don't hide from me."
"You can't come in I'm naked," She retorts childishly.
"You infuriate me so much." I slam my hand against the door after each world for emphasis.
She slams on the door the same nature I do, "You deserve it."
My phones chimes and I glare at the shut door one more time before I go answer it.
"Who is it?" Corazoan snoops.
I run my hand through my hair, "It is Franky. He said a significant amount of Doflamingo funds are going to someone by the name is CC, but no full name anywhere. He is going to cross reference with Ace and his brother tomorrow."
"Glad to hear that! I keep will try to snag what I can and bring it over to you." He offers.
I flip through a few more pages look up at him skeptically, "You really want to help her, don't you?"
The mood of the room switches to a more serious one, "More than you know. The things that he has done are inhuman. My brother deserves to be punished."
I stare long and hard at him having difficult time reading him, "Why didn't you go to the cops?"
He looked at me like I was stupid, "You know how that would have gone."
Nodding my head, I turn back down to the files. He has been way to helpful and that didn't sit right with me. There was a thought trying to bloom inside my head but wasn't quite formed.
After a while, I hear an over exaggerated groan behind from the bathroom.
"You finally realize you have to come out and face my wrath?" I shout casually over my shoulder.
"When I come out you can't make fun of my outfit. Doflamingo told me I had to wear it. I look like a hooker" Her voice was perturbed.
"I am sure you look beautiful Lily don't worry." Corazoan reassures her.
The door creeps open and I turn my gaze to her.
Fuck. Me. Hard.
Lily was wearing a skin-tight black cocktail dress with a scandalously short asymmetrical skirt that nearly showed off all of her right leg.
Nothing was left to imagination. The dress hosted her breast up so they almost spilled out the top, only thin straps kept the dress up.
When she turned around, her whole back was bare minus another thin string that I assumed was there to prevent the side of her cleavage from popping out from how the thin shoulder straps connected to the sides of the dress.
The fabric of the dress pulled shamelessly over the natural curve of her backside to start the skirt for the back half of her dress only to end shortly passed her butt.
To make things worse she had on four inch black pumps that made her legs look endless and her ass look amazing.
Her chestnuts locks were straightened and shined in the apartment light. Her emerald eyes where line by bold make up that made her look mature.
A deep garnet matte lipstick dawned on her lips, making them look plump and full.
Incredibly sexy was the only way I could put how she looked elegantly.
I was very happy in that moment that I had folder in my lap.
Sinful thoughts were the only things that were racing through my mind. I couldn't help but wonder if she was wearing any kind of underwear in such a tight dress because I was certain she was not wearing a bra.
"Umm? Is it really that bad? I thought I actually looked pretty hot." Lily asked checking herself out for any flaws.
"No." My voice betrayed me and cracked like a prepubescent boy. I internally wince knowing that Lily wasn't going to let that go.
"Law?" She approaches me with a flirtatious smirk. Her hips swaying sensually with the assistance of her pumps, "Are you hot and bothered?" Lily rest her arms on the back of the couch, leans over, and stares me down challenging me to look down her dress.
I don' t break her gaze I already knew that even her barely B breast looked fantastic in that dress.
"No," I toss the file onto the table finally regaining composure, "I was just amazed that you could look like a full grown women instead of stunted teenage girl."
I stand up still towering over her and lean over whispering in her ear, "Unless you really want to finish what we started at the party."
The transformed girl shoves me away with a blush creeping on her face.
I win that one.
"You cannot wear that out in public!" Corazoan goes full on dad mode finally snapping out of his dazed state.
He gestures up and down to her body completely flabbergasted, "You minus well be wearing lingerie out in public! You will attract skeezy people and, and, and you will freeze to death!"
"You haven't seen the best part." She says unenthusiastically walking back to the bathroom and man I cannot help but watch that.
Has her ass always been so perfect?
Corazoan smacks my shoulder hard enough to cause me to take a step forward.
His russet eyes shoot warning glares at me.
I just shrug. Why miss this opportunity?
What she came out in ruined my daydreaming.
Her small figure was consumed by a deep garnet feathered coat that matched her lip stick. It wasn't as outlandish as Doflamingo's. It fell just past her waste and the number of feathers seemed toned down.
She does a small spin critically look herself over, "Apparently I get to join the flock for a night." She pets the coat, "I wonder where we are going that I have to be dressed so swanky for."
"You're going to the Grand Line." Corazoan tugs the feathery coat closed over her chest, "He most likely wants you to wear the coat so that people from the underground know that you're with him. So, if you or anyone who associated with you tried to dig up info about Doffy, they will be too scared to tell you."
"Smart." I grumble hating to admit it.
Corazon pets Lily's hair affectionally and gives her an apologetic look, "I really hate to say this but, you probably shouldn't leave my brother's side. There are people that will do unspeakable things to you if they catch you alone. At least if you are with Doffy, people will be too scared to approach you."
"And Doflamingo won't do horrible things to her when they are alone." I roll my eyes at him.
"He promised there would be no funny business. Doflamingo also said I would be home by midnight so if I am not home, you can come looking. He seemed more interested to play with me that anything else." She tried to convince herself even though she was anxiously pacing across the apartment.
I finally accept that this is going to happen no matter what I say, "Ask him who CC is. Franky found info about him on your computer and the initials are on all of the hospital records from when our families died and when your organs were retrieved."
She mouths the letters determined to remember to ask.
"Oh!" The burette turns hastily to Corazoan, "What is under Doflamingo's glass?"
Poor ignorant girl.
That was the taboo question that everyone in the family knew not to asked.
Even Corazoan was taken back by the question and had to mull over how to answer it, "I know, but I can't tell you. If he knew I told anyone he would kill me. Doffy doesn't want anyone know."
"That is the only thing that you said that I can actually believe." I comment looking at Lily who narrowed her eyes at Corazoan.
"You can't tell me in anything." She stares at him hard radiating her own pressure.
I chuckle to myself because the giant man looked terrified of this small mouse of a girl.
Lily really is his weakness.
"I'll give you a hint so you can figure it out on your own," He leans over and whispers into her ear.
She hugs tight in return. The hug lingered for longer than I thought. They buried themselves in each other. I could see the tender smile on his face and he held her close.
They never did get a proper reunion. I still think Lily was too easy to trust but seeing Corazoan like this did make me feel more at ease.
Lily's phone starts to chime inside her coat she pulls back from the embrace to checks it, "Guess it is game time."
Before she steps out the door, I grab her shoulder, "If you are not home by midnight, I am going to come looking for you. Franky can track your phone, so as long as you keep it on you, we will be able to find you anywhere. If you send me any type of text I will head to the Grand Line and find you right away. I'll shoot Luffy's crew a message and see if any of them will be there tonight too as an extra set of eyes. Also remember to ask about CC. Got it?"
Her small had pats my cheek, "Law it is almost like you care about me." Her thumb strokes m cheek twice, "But yes I got it. Text you if I need anything and ask about CC."
Those beautiful emerald eyes meet mine and she gives me reassuring smile, "I'll see you at midnight."
I return her smile with a tired one, "I'll see you at midnight."
The door closes softly and I let out a hug puff of air.
"You love her."
My brain is knocked off kilter by the statement. Corazoan looked very pleased with himself. My golden eyes shoot him a very exhausted look, "Don't you have somewhere you need to be?"
He russet eyes turn to the size of dinner plates, "You DO love her!" Corazoan was waaaaaaaay to excitable about this.
"Look I'll say this just because I want you to leave, "I used my hands to emphasis my point, "I do not love her. I barely know her. I just don't hate her and there is something special about her that I really don't know what feelings to connect that too." I cut him off with my hands, "That is all you get. Confused young adult emotions."
He slips his coat on with a goofy grin, "I'll take it."
I roll my eyes so hard I'm pretty sure they hit the ceiling, "Now leave."
The clumsy man gives me on more stupid grin before he leaves, "You love her!"
I end the night how it started by slamming the door in Corazoan's face.
*Ace POV*
I hear a couple knocks on the door and sprint toward the door like and excited dog. I whip open the door and see my favorite blonde, "SABO!"
"ACE!" My brother replies and we reunite with a ginormous bear hug that last like five minutes.
"How the hell are you? You text surprised me I didn't think I was going to see you until tomorrow." I usher him in and offer him a drink.
"No thank you. I actually wanted you to come with me to an undercover informant meeting tonight." Sabo sounded pumped.
"Hey I am honored but isn't that something I don't usually have any business with?" I question my brother intrigued to see where this was going.
"The informant has intel on a mole in the police force. Sengoku thought it would be smart to inform Whitebeard and one other trusted ally in the force to keep an eye on the traitor. So naturally I chose you. Who can you trust more than your own brother?" Sabo slaps my back and gives me a closed eyed grim.
My leather jacket hits my face, "Come on let's go figure out how to catch a bad guy."
I chuckle and slip on my coat.
We ended up in some sketchy back alley district of Sabaody.
"So, Whitebeard told me that you guys have a couple people on the inside." The air was chilled enough I could see my brother's breath.
"Yeah Lily is this amazing girl with such passion and fire in her soul, I think she should be able to get the upper hand on Doflamingo." I jabber on to my brother.
"She seems to have a pretty jaded past though." Sabo commented pulling the collar of his black trench coat closer to himself to fend of the late autumn chill.
"It's a long story." I sigh.
My brother looks at me with kind brown eyes, "We have time."
Of course I tell me everything including the night at the Sunny.
He nods thoughtfully, "How she responds to that attack will tell you if she can do it." We stop in an alley and lean up against a wall, "What about Law? Luffy thinks very highly of him."
"I personally think he is an arrogant bastard that has no regard to any other human life but his own, but I promised Lily I wouldn't say anymore without her around." I reply with a sour taste in my mouth.
My brother hits my chest, "Hey! That sounds promising though! She must have told you something really important that is going to help."
I nod slowly hoping he was right. No being able to tell anyone about Law sat like a one ton weight on my chest. I felt like I was betraying the whole police department by not saying anything. Lily did send me a message asking what day she could come with me and talk to Whitebeard, so I wouldn't bear this burden much longer.
Soft crunching cane from down the alley way. As the sound got closer the shadowy that same with it grew larger and larger to an outrageous height and girth.
Sabo leans up against this nonchalantly, "What are you doing out so late at night?"
"Looking for a dragon. How about you?" The voice sounded familiar but I couldn't quite places.
My brother laughs at the quip, "Trying to pick up a drag queen."
Only my brother would think of a ridiculous code set like that.
The informant steps into the light.
"You're Dofl . . ." My brother claps hand over my mouth sweat dropping and giving me a scolding look.
It was Doflamingo's younger brother Corazon.
Honestly, I was only slightly surprised. He never was brought up in the news and no one ever brought up accusations against him. No one even talked about him.
The only bit of experience with him was the outburst at the hospital with Lily.
"How long?" I ask both of them.
"My brother and I got split up after my parents died and went into the foster system. Sengoku was my foster dad and trained me off the books. When I was somewhere in my mid-twenties, I found my brother again and helped rebuild our family's company and gained his trust hoping to find a way to take him down." Corazoan answers puffing on his cigarette greedily.
"As you can tell this has been going on for a while but I think we are finally making some headway." Sabo informed trying to stay in a hushed tone.
"Have you told Lily?" It was the first question that came to my mind.
He adjusts his red hat, "I want to but I am hesitant to get any more people involved."
"You can trust him. Our case is as strong as it is because is him." My brother always knew what was on my mind.
I give my brother a tight lipped smile.
"Let's get to the information so we can get out of here." Sabo's Spidey senses we tingling knowing we had been here too long.
"These are all the cases that I could find that might help with pinning down the mole in your station." Corazoan hands a black brief case to Sabo.
"Who is it?" I ask curiously wanting to know who has betrayed the apartment.
Corazoan nurses his cigarette and replies gruffly, "Vergo."
Done and done!
Do you guys feel like there is enough happening in the chapter or do you feel like I need to quicken the pace? I am having a hard time deciding.
