Inojin was awoken by his loud alarm clock, blasting one of his favourite pop songs. He got up from his bed, full of energy and excitement as usually. Today was going to be a good day, he told himself. The boy got over with his usual morning routine, before he walked downstairs, grabbed a piece of toats and placed a kiss on his mother's cheek, who complained that her son never sat down to properly have his breakfast and walked out of the house. Today was actually his birthday - and while Inojin would be the kind of person to invite loads of people and throw a wild party, this time he decided to just spend it with his closest friends and of course, his beloved girlfriend.
Inojin headed towards the backyard of the school - it was where he and his friends met up before their classes started. It was kind of their tradition, really. They sat down on the grass, talked, messed around and generally, had lots of fun. The boy treasured those moments. However, today was different. The usually chipper mood was gone, replaced by a much darker one. Boruto, who was usually loud and obnoxious was grumpy and quiet today; Cho, Inojin's lovely, beautiful girlfriend who was quite talkative and the life of the party was also unusally quiet and sulky today. The only normal one seemed to be Shikadai, but it was obvious that even he was affected by the tension among the group.
The Yamanaka sat down on the grass next to his friends, the usual smile on his face. "Guys! So my dad is taking out my mum on a romantic dinner tonight and I'll be all alone. So I thought, why don't you all come over? We could have a little get-together, watch a bunch of movies, have some food and drinks.. like the good old times! We haven't done this in a while!" Inojin suggested, excitement clear in his voice. However, his friends didn't seem to share his enthusiasm. Boruto just kept frowning and not saying anything, Chocho kept her gaze on the ground while she played with the hem of her shoe and Shikadai kept nervously shifting his gaze from one person to another.
"That.. sounds fun." the Nara finally spoke, breaking the silence.
"I'll pass." Boruto replied shortly.
"I- uhh.. I'm actually busy tonight. I've got to.. help my dad with.. some stuff." Chocho mumbled.
Inojin was a bit suspicious at first, but eventually, he caught up on it - his friends were just acting like this because they planned to surprise him. It was his birthday, after all. The blond decided not to say anything - he didn't want to ruin their surprise, whatever it was. He'd even play along and pretend to be upset.
"You're all coming over at my place tonight, alright? I'll accept no excuses! Because if you don't, I'll be deeply offended!" the Yamanaka declared theatrically, getting up from the ground, grabbing his backpack and walking off.
The rest of the day wasn't so interesting - he has numerous classes, but what was on his mind the entire time was.. tonight. Inojin was sure that it'd be amazing and despite not having a huge party, he'd spend it with his best friends and Chocho, the girl he loved.
Finally, school was over and Inojin got home. His mother had prepared the birthday cake and various other meals for her son's birthday. She and Sai had also promised that they'd get out of the house for the night so that Inojin could enjoy celebrating with his friends. Speaking of them, soon enough, they arrived.
Boruto still seemed as grumpy as earlier today, and Chocho seemed still as.. upset. None of them seemed to be carrying any presents and Inojin soon realized that they were still playing their game and pretending. He couldn't help but wonder where they were hiding the presents, however, he decided to play along for now and pretend that this was any other normal day.
The Yamanaka put on a movie, but only him and Shikadai seemed to be enjoying it. Boruto wasn't even looking at the screen - he stared off into the distance instead. Chocho seemingly was looking at the movie, but it was obvious she wasn't paying any attention to it. Inojin tried kissing her a few times, but she either brushed him off, pushed him away or didn't react at all. To be honest, all of this seemed strange to Inojin - they were pretending for too long now and he just wanted to be able to enjoy his birthday.
So when the movie ended, he decided to confort them. Perhaps that was what they wanted - a reaction from Inojin, so they could laugh about it and tell him how they pretended that they didn't know it was his birthday. "Soo.. what's going on? Why are you guys acting so strange?" the Yamanaka finally asked.
Shikadai's gaze landed on Cho, then on Boruto. The Uzumaki crossed his arms over his chest and kept quiet, while the Akimichi just kept her gaze on the floor, not speaking a word either. The Nara let out an irritated sigh. Suddenly, he got up from the couch.
"You're all being such dickheads! That's not fair, you know! Boruto, just because your dad's getting his Hokage willy wet from a woman that isn't your mother doesn't give you the right to neglect your friends and act like such an asshole! And you, Cho.. you better tell him before I do. He's my best mate and I'm tired of you lying to him!"
Suddenly, all eyes were on Shikadai. Inojin couldn't help but feel entertained. Were they really putting on such a show for his birthday? He had to give it to them, they were such good actors! The shock on Boruto's face was so believable and even.. Cho's tears welling up in her eyes? That was a bit too far, Inojin didn't think they were capable of that much theatrics. "Tell me what?" he asked nonchalantly, so his friends could continue their show.
"Go on! Fucking tell him or I will!" Shikadai yelled out.
"Alright! Alright!" Chocho yelled back, turning to Inojin but still unable to meet his eyes. "I.. I don't love you anymore. I'm in love with.. someone else.." her sad, dark eyes landed on Boruto for mere moments "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry.. I wanted to tell you! I wanted to do it right! But Shikadai had to ruin everything!" suddenly, she turned towards the Nara, fury clear in her eyes "And you.. why don't you tell Boruto that you've been dying to shag his little sister, you sick fuck?"
Suddenly, the Uzumaki became alert. "What? What is she talking about?"
"Shikadai has a thing for Himawari! He's had it for a long time, all behind your back!" Chocho revealed.
"What the fuck? My little sister? Are you fucking kidding me, Shikadai?" Boruto asked, his voice full of anger.
Shikadai raised his hands in front of him in defense. "No! It's.. it's not like that! I actually love her. I do! I fell for her. I'm sorry Boruto, I meant to tell you but.."
"Love?" Boruto repeated, letting out a snort. "What the fuck do you know about love? Besides, you don't even know Himawari, how could you be in love with her? You're so full of shit-"
"I do know her! And I do know about love! What do you both think of me, huh? That I'm just this dumb guy who doesn't care about anyone- the guy you think could lie to his friend, the guy who just shags girls left and right and doesn't feel anything.. I do feel, I do care, and I do love her! So fuck all of you!"
"That's my little sister you sick fuck, is that why you're so keen on coming over? So you can creep on her? And I thought you were my friend, you absolute-"
"That's not it and you know it, I am your friend and I care about you, I've always been there for you, you fucking-"
"Guys! Please, stop it!"
"What do you mean, stop it? You did all of this! The damage is done!"
"It was you who started it!"
Inojin buried his face in his hands, rubbing his temples, before running his fingers through his long hair. This.. it wasn't play-pretend. How could have he been so stupid all along? They didn't care. They had forgotten it was his birthday. His girlfriend didn't love him. The girl of his dreams.. Chocho. The most funny, beautiful, outspoken, smart girl he'd ever met. She had fallen for one his best friends. The friend group he had.. it was broken. It was gone. Everything had become so shit now.
"SHUT UP! ALL OF YOU, SHUT UP!" Inojin suddenly yelled out, his words followed by dead silence. "Just leave. Just.. get out. I wanted to celebrate my birthday with my best friends and my.. my girlfriend, but.. Just leave, please." Inojin begged, desperation clear in his voice.
"Dude.. I.." Boruto whispered, suddenly having realized it was his mate's birthday. "I'm so sorry.. We really fucked up.. I forgot. With my parents and everything.."
Chocho suddenly broke down into sobs, tears streaming down her face. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry! We all.. we were so caught up in our problems.. we forgot!"
"It doesn't matter. It's fine. Just go." Inojin replied, trying his best to remain cool. Chocho and Boruto, both with guilt clear on their faces, slowly walked out the house. The only one who remained was Shikadai.
Inojin sat down on the couch, trying his best to not cry. This was the worst birthday he's ever had - perhaps the worst day of his life. Ever. The Nara sat down next to the blond and wrapped an arm around him. Was he the only friend he had now? Did he even care?
"I don't even care about my birthday." Inojin mumbled. "I loved her. I really did.. I still love her. Chocho.. she was special. She's the only one for me. I.. It hurts so much."
"I know." Shikadai replied, suddenly. "And it's going to hurt, for a while. A long time, really. But you'll get over it, eventually."
"I just.. I wanted everybody to be happy. We were all friends. And now it's all fucked. Why did everything get so fucked up? Why did she fall out of love with me? Was I not good enough? What did I do wrong?" the Yamanaka asked, his voice full of desparation.
"Look, buddy.." the Nara began speaking, wrapping an arm around the blonde "That's.. the way things are. People fall for the wrong people. They make mistakes. They say the wrong things.. You didn't do anything wrong, dude. You were perfect. If I was a girl, I'd absolutely shag you - you're a pretty good boyfriend, you know. You've got it all." Shikadai encouraged his friend, letting out a laugh. Inojin's lips formed into a small smile for a while as well, but soon enough it faltered.
"Not good enough for Cho, apparently.."
"Oh, fuck her. Fuck everyone. Come on, we're going out!" the Nara suddenly announced. Inojin looked at his friend with confusion in his eyes.
"Going out? Where?" the blond asked, not really in the mood for leaving his house. He'd rather put on a romantic comedy and cry his eyes out.
"A club. A random party. Anywhere."
Inojin had no idea why he agreed to this - right now, he'd much rather stay home but Shikadai was just too convincing and at the end, the blond ended up agreeing and tagging along. Currently, they were at some night club. Inojin had never been to this place before. Inside it was quite dark and small, with red lights illuminating it and loud, strange music blasting. The two boys were sitting at the bar, enjoying various shots that Shikadai kept ordering. That was until another boy arrived and greeted the Nara, whispering something in his ear - he was incredibly pale, with white-blue hair, thin eyebrows and golden eyes.
Suddenly, Shikadai got up from his chair and urged Inojin to do the same. Then, grabbing the blond's hand so he wouldn't get lost in the crowd, he dragged him along to the bathroom. The three guys were alone in there and the blue haired man took out a small, ziploc baggie from his pocket, which contained a white powdered substance. He poured out it's contents on the sink, took out a card and separated it in three, straight lines.
"What's that, Shikadai?" Inojin asked. "I'm not going to do drugs. I'm already dizzy from all those shots. And I don't even know this man!"
The golden-eyed guy let out a small laugh, his lips forming into a mysterious smile. "My name is Mitsuki. It's nice to meet you." he introduced himself, extending his hand and offering a handshake to the blond. Inojin, however, was currently way too suspicious of the guy to shake his hand, let alone do drugs with him. "How do you know this guy?" Inojin asked, turning towards Shikadai.
"He's a friend of mine. I often get stuff from him and it's always top quality." the Nara explained. "Come on, Inojin, don't be such a pussy. We came out to have a good time, didn't we?"
The Yamanaka, however, still wasn't entirely convinced. He watched Mitsuki snort one of the lines, lean his head back and close his eyes, obviously enjoying the sensation. Soon after, Shikadai did the same thing. Inojin stood there for a while, contemplating on what to do. He wasn't really a fan of drugs - all he'd done was smoke weed, but truth to be told, he preferred alcohol. And this Mitsuki guy - there was something about him.. he didn't like it.
"Fuck me, that's good. Come on, blondie! It feels amazing!" Shikadai exclaimed "You can either go home and cry yourself to sleep over some girl that's not worth it or stay here and have fun!"
Right now, the last thing that Inojin needed was to think about Cho. He wanted to forget, even for a while. So the blonde ended up snorting the last line left on the sink counter. Suddenly, he felt a rush of excitement and energy hit him. He felt.. simply ecstatic and full of confidence. Whatever hints of pity and sadness he previously had, they were gone. The girl he'd been crazy in love with shattering his heart in tiny little pieces.. it didn't bother him anymore. Once again, Shikadai grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the bathroom straight into the dance floor.
The three guys began dancing, hugging each other, singing along to the songs in excitement. Mitsuki's golden eyes never broke contact with Inojin's blue ones. He kept getting closer and closer, eventually placing his hands on the Yamanaka's hips, dancing along with him. Inojin had to admit to himself that he was enjoying all of this - Mitsuki was an attractive guy. A strange one, sure, but enticing and enigmatic. There was something about him.. something he wasn't quite sure how explain. But a part of him was definitely attracted to the blue-haired man, despite Inojin never really taking interest in guys before. They danced like this for quite a while - with Mitsuki's hands on the blonde's hips and Inojin's hands around the other's shoudlers. The Yamanaka suddenly broke their eye contact and his gaze searched for Shikadai - until he found him with his arms wrapped around some girl, the two making out passionatelly. Oh, he was definitely having fun.
Inojin suddenly felt Mitsuki's hands on his chin - it forced his eyes back on the golden pair in front of him. Mitsuki slowly shortened the distance between them, until the blond could feel his breath on his lips. He wanted to kiss him so badly and he didn't even know why. He just did. It was all he could think about. Soon enough, Mitsuki crashed his lips on Inojin's in a slow, passionate kiss and his hands travelled up and down his thighs and back, emracing his body. The Yamanaka had never felt like this - his whole body was on fire. He'd never been with a guy like this.. but it felt amazing. His touch was driving him crazy. He wanted him.
Mitsuki's slowly pulled away from the kiss, his lips forming into a smirk again and Inojin had trouble catching his breath. Then, the blue-haired boy slowly traced kisses along Inojin's jawline, neck and collarbones. The Yamanaka threw his head back, moving slowly in tune of the music and enjoying the burning sensation of the other's kisses.
"Want to take this somewhere else?" Mitsuki whispered and Inojin just nodded, unable to actually speak.
The two guys ended up back in the bathroom and Mitsuki made sure to lock it after they got in. He slowly approached Inojin and once again, crashed his lips against the others, engaging in a passionate kiss. Inojin felt's Mitsuki's hands all over his body, eventually taking his shirt off. The blue-haired boy's lips left trails of kisses all along the blond's body - his neck, collarbones, chest, stomach.. until he reached the hem of his pants. Mitsuki slid down Inojin's pants and boxers, obviously pleased with what was beneath them. He took the blond's member in his mouth, slow at first but quickening his pace eventually.
The Yamanaka, closed his eyes, leaning back on the wall and enjoying the sensation. It didn't take long until he finished - and Mitsuki gladly swallowed it all. Inojin was breathing heavily, he'd never finished so quickly - not even with Cho. This guy was simply driving him crazy. Mitsuki got up from his previous position and continued kissing Inojin's neck, jawline and finally, his lips, before finally pulling away.
"We should go back now.. before Shikadai starts wondering where we went." the blue-haired whispered and Inojin was.. disappointed, to say the least. To his surprise, he didn't want to leave. He wanted to stay. He wanted to feel Mitsuki's touch all over him. He's never been with a guy before, but he's never felt so attracted to someone. He wanted him. But eventually, the Yamanaka ended up agreeing and not saying anything else, so the two guys pulled themselves together and returned back to the dancefloor.
Shikadai was truly a mess - he'd obviously had a few more drinks while they were gone and he was having a hard time keeping his balance. Mitsuki wrapped an arm around the Nara's waist and Inojin did the same. Together, they walked him out of the club.
"Do you know where he lives?" Mitsuki asked.
"Yes.. but we're not taking him home! No way.. His mother would kill him if he she saw him in this condition. I think we should take Shikadai at my place." Inojin suggested.
"Alright then."
It was a quiet walk back to the Yamanaka household and soon enough, they reached their destination. Inojin quietly unlocked the door and with Mitsuki's help, he brought Shikadai upstairs to his room. The two boys carefully placed him on Inojin's bed, took off his shoes and put some blankets over him, making sure he was comfortable and warm.
"Wow. He really got smashed, huh? Well, it's time for me to go. I believe you'll take good care of him." and with that, Mitsuki headed towards the exit of the bedroom.
"Wait.." Inojin suddenly spoke. He wasn't sure he was ready to.. let him go. "Will I see you again?"
Mitsuki turned around, with the usual mysterious smile on his face. "Maybe." was all he said before finally walking out.
The Yamanaka didn't say anything - he just kept quiet and stared at the door for quite some time. After this, he finally took of his shoes and clothes, changed into his pyjamas and got into bed. Thankfully it was big enough for both him and Shikadai - it wasn't the first time one of Inojin's friend got too drunk and had to stay over at his place and bed. Friends.. the boy thought bitterly. Did he have any left, besides the Nara?
And so, Inojin began falling asleep. With Boruto, Chocho and.. Mitsuki on his mind.
