A/N: Set 3 weeks after the Sparring Match story. By now, Sophia and Eve are settled into 221C and are being more proactive in Sherlock's cases. I may come back and fill that gap in later, but for now it will remain unfilled.
Also, I know I've been gone for a heck of a long time, but as someone has followed this story and therefore reminded me that this account stil exists, I'm starting a mass update for the course of the next week over most of my stories.
"How the hell did you manage to hide that thing from the public, and to a further extent, from the demon before you stabbed him with it?" Sherlock smirked and rubbed the lining of his coat, the seam Sophia had made was invisible to the average human eye, and so Lestrade, but the hint was enough for the DI's eyes to blow wide in realisation.
"Who taught you that?" Greg questioned as he dropped into his seat behind his desk. Sherlock smirked and tapped the end of his nose to infuriate Lestrade. The DI refused to rise to it and rolled his eyes.
"You don't need to tell me then, but you're going to need their expertise for this case, it's gonna be a tricky one" Lestrade told the half-vampire as he handed the file over.
"You've obviously forgotten who you're talking to" Sherlock said with a creepy grin as he flipped through the file. His grin continued to widen as he read through it and Lestrade frowned at him.
"You'd be happy about killing your own?" he questioned.
"I'm not exactly happy about it, but it makes for an interesting challenge" Sherlock replied as he walked back out of Lestrade's office.
Back in Baker Street, Sophia and Eve looked over the file Sherlock handed to them; Sophia began to grin as she formulated a plan and went for Sherlock's wardrobe. Eve pulled her laptop out and tried to locate the vampires by tracking any kills reported in the news while she handed the file over to John returning from work. John pulled a jumper on and read through the file as he made dinner.
"This is a bad idea Sherlock, unless you're prepared anyway" John shouted to the Hunter examining the clothes Sophia had pulled out of his wardrobe, occasionally going back to his wardrobe and pulling out a different shirt.
"I know John, I'm going to need your help with this one, which means you might need training too" Sherlock shouted back.
"Watch it Soph!" Sherlock complained as she almost caught him with one of the knives she was trying to fit into a pocket she'd created.
"Sorry, but you need to stop squirming" Sophia replied, pulling the jacket off his tall frame and laying it flat on the coffee table alongside Eve's laptop.
"Werewolves are faster and stronger than most vampires and it's a full moon tomorrow, you're the one that needs training" John told the Hunter as he walked out of the kitchen with a grin. Sherlock groaned as Sophia noticed John's grin and shared it.
"I am not being beaten by a teenager" Sherlock shouted as he got to his feet and swung his staff at Sophia. She ducked underneath the attack an swiped at Sherlock's knee with her own staff, causing him to step back to avoid breaking his leg, stepping right off the mat and landing on the floor.
John's laughter echoed through the gym and Sherlock shot him a glare as he got back on the mat, Sophia twisting her staff and turning it into two shorter ones as Sherlock swiped at her again, taking advantage of her momentary distraction to knock her onto the mat.
"Touché old man" Sophia said, kicking him away and getting to her feet. Lestrade chuckled as he sat on the bench nearest the mat, getting a front row seat.
"Did you just call me an old man?!" Sherlock complained, launching three vicious attacks in quick succession. Sophia laughed and nodded, missing Sherlock's third attack and flipping off the mat, landing at Lestrade's feet.
"I told you I wouldn't be beaten by a teenager, and it serves you right for calling me an old man" the half-vampire stated with a grin as he pulled Sophia to her feet. Sophia nodded and dropped onto the bench, handing the staff over to Lestrade as he got to his feet.
"Seriously? You want me to hit an old man" Sherlock questioned as Lestrade stepped onto the mat.
"Now look who's talking" Lestrade said, launching his first attack. Sophia and John watched the match closely, smirking as they listened to the rookie Hunters gathering outside to watch.
"You have an audience boys" Sophia announced, so the Hunters circling each other on the mat focussed on sparring rather than witty comments. Ten minutes later, Lestrade dropped onto the bench and looked the Hunters that had gathered to watch. He offered the staff to them and they took several steps back, forcing Sophia to hide her smirk.
