Sherlock stopped at the door to 221C, catching an unusual scent at the door. Sherlock opened the door to find a young woman sitting on the sofa, almost tripping over the golden wolf who walked in and sat by Sophia's armchair.
The vampire sitting on the sofa looked away from her blood bag as she saw the wolf, eyeing it nervously as it snarled at her.
"Don't worry about it Charlotte, John won't kill you unless you try and kill me. Sherlock won't kill you either, so he's going to put his knives on the table that are currently sitting in his hand" Sherlock did as Sophia said and dropped his silver knife onto the table. Eve glared at him and the Hunter dropped the second knife beside the first and turned his attention to the blood bags sitting nearby, until John's growl snapped him out of it.
Sherlock nodded to the gold wolf and walked out of the room, Eve blew her hair off of her face and dropped her gun on the table, making the vampire on the sofa raise an eyebrow.
"I trust you being a vampire more than I do Sherlock, yes" Eve stated and Sophia nodded her agreement, dropping her knife on the table by Eve's gun. The golden wolf nodded with the psychics and Charlotte raised an eyebrow at it.
"I cannot believe the pair of you, you've gone between Hunter organisations and you've gone round with a werewolf pack" Charlotte pointed the the respective teen as she spoke, who nodded their confirmations. "And now you share a flat connected to that of a werewolf and a half vampire, your situations haven't exactly gotten better" Sophia and Eve grinned with the golden wolf by Sophia's feet.
"And the werewolf is grinning at me, apparently something's funny" the vampire muttered to herself and Sophia laughed.
"Says the vampire who works on a film set for the teen vampire show" Eve explained with a smirk and Charlotte frowned.
"Okay, I see what you mean" the vampire replied as she began to laugh. Sherlock raised an eyebrow as a question to the golden wolf at Sophia's feet, which just shook it's head and continued to grin.
The Hunter took the hint and leaned on the back of Eve's armchair, frowning at the gun sat on the coffee table by her feet.
"Wait a minute, you trust her, a fully fledged, if fairly young vampire, but you don't trust me?" he questioned, pretending to sound hurt.
"She has good reason to" Sophia pointed out and Sherlock's mock frown became one of confusion and Sophia tried not to facepalm.
"You haven't told them?" Charlotte asked with raised eyebrows and Eve shook her head.
"Well it looks like you have to now" the vampire muttered as she turned her attention to the blood bag in her hand.
"Sorry" Sophia muttered feebly and Eve waved a dismissive hand in her general direction, looking down at the floor and twirling her antique locket as she bit her lip.
"No, I never tell anyone because I don't want their pity, at least you two understood what had happened because you were already immersed in the supernatural world" Eve muttered.
"Tell us what? Your past?" Sherlock questioned, looking down at Eve.
"I guess I don't have a choice now" she sighed and looked to her friends for help. Sophia and Charlotte nodded, exchanging a quick glance and a small nod before they began.
"The three of us went to school together, we knew about the supernatural world through each other's lives" Sophia started.
"While Sophia's parents had come from generations of Hunters but no longer were, Eve's parents kept alive the tradition"
"My parents started training me when I was seven, teaching me how to fight, how to shoot, how to throw knives. But after the Labyrinth issue, Jareth warned them that I'd taken to the labyrinth's magic and that it would have a few side effects, so my mother persuaded dad to stop training me in case it changed, which it did of course" Eve explained.
"We won't explain the labyrinth incident, don't even ask Sherlock" Sophia stated as the Hunter opened his mouth to ask the question.
"You two are better at this than I remember" Charlotte stated and everyone gave her a 'shut up' look before turning back to Eve.
"When I was sixteen, my parents started a job hunting a dangerous old vampire, he killed and burned his evidence behind him, so he was pretty easy to track down" Eve looked up at Sherlock as he 'hmmm'ed at her explanation.
"It's not uncommon for vampires to burn the evidence, I've tracked down a few myself quickly enough" the Hunter answered, motioning for Eve to continue.
"The thing was, he was very good at disappearing after he'd killed, reappearing a few days later to kill before going back underground again. He turned up two days after my parents started the case, right at our front door" Eve paused to keep her voice steady, Sophia and Charlotte exchanging a quick glance as John moved to nudge Eve's knee with his snout before returning to his place around Sophia's legs, placing his paws on her feet and resting his head on them as he listened.
"The vampire killed them, the fire in the flat woke me up to see him hovering over me. I killed him and ran, grabbing what I could before the entire place burned. I've moved through Hunter groups since, I seem to have stuck here, it's better here than everywhere else" silence filled the room after that.
"Which is why you trust her more than me" Sherlock whispered and Eve nodded up to him, looking down at her knees and wiping away a stray tear.
Sophia looked to Charlotte and the vampire nodded, packing away the blood bags and pushing the case discreetly behind the sofa. The golden wolf moved from Sophia's seat and sat by Eve, shaking his head when a tear fell on his nose.
"Sorry John" Eve said with a chuckle, taking a deep breath and straightening her back. Eve wiped away the last few tears and smiled again as if the conversation hadn't happened.
"Now Charlotte, what were you saying before they came back?" Sophia asked, changing the topic for Eve.
The half-vampire an the gold wolf nodded to the psychics and left them to their conversation, heading up to their own flat.
Mrs Hudson called an hour later to say her vacation had been extended and would be leaving them alone for another week, at which point the girls were still talking downstairs about random topics. John and Sherlock sat in 221B in silence, listening to the girl's conversation.
Next door, the three girls' smirked as they realised that the werewolf an the Hunter were listening to their conversation, so they moved into the kitchen. Sophia filled the kettle and left the water running, putting the kettle on to boil as Eve turned the oven's fan on.
They looked around them and made sure the appliances where making enough noise to stop the boys next door listening in and Charlotte asked the question she'd been dying (the author asks you to ignore the bad pun) to ask since John and Sherlock had returned from their case.
"What's it like living with them?" Sophia and Eve exchanged a glance and smirked to the vampire.
"It's really weird" they both said.
"I mean, with the massacre incident, they were really protective afterwards, not really letting us out of their sight" Eve explained.
"Yeah, John spend the week as a wolf and used my feet for a pillow every night" Sophia interrupted and Eve nodded.
"But between cases it's constant training or helping them train other Hunters, or in Sophia's case, building wrist weapons for Sherlock. If its not that it's normal life, well as close as we can get to it anyway, paying rent and doing the shopping"
"It certainly sounds interesting, got room for a vampire when I'm on a filming break?"
"Only if you help in cases while you're here" Sherlock answered from the doorway.
"And help train the new Hunters, it's better if we teach them how to fight a vampire if they have one teaching them" John added, leaning against the kitchen bench. The two psychics turned to stare at them, turning to Charlotte as she squealed and started hopping about.
"That means yes then" Sophia stated with a grin. Eve looked away from the ecstatic vampire to share that grin.
"Looks like we got the old band back together" Charlotte said when she paused her squealing, only to continue it again as Eve and Sophia laughed.
