Halloween special pt. 2
"What are you talking about?" I say looking at the three of them in front of me, all of them smiling at me. "What is there in Twilight Town town to do?" They step away clearing a path for the three fairies from Master Yen Sid's tower. They circled me and spun around me a couple of times.
"You sure dearies?" One of the fairies ask look back at Sora, Donald, and Goofy. They all nodded and she spun back to look at me. All three fairies at the same time flicked their wrists waving their wands around. I was covered in a flash of light, and dust flying around me. I open my eyes and see my outfit had changed into Sora, I even had a wig on.
I could feel my face heating up, and try to cover my embarrassment, but I was holding a bright pumpkin pale. "Oh!" I feel my temperature drop back down to normal as I realized what they were planning. I smile at them and run over to hug Sora. "Is this a pity trick or treat?" I giggle.
He wraps his arms around me and pulls me in tight. "We felt bad, and plus we really wanted to try trick or treating." I hear say over my shoulder still hugging me. "Plus we all get to wear costumes!" He lets go of me with a big smile on his face.
The three fairies float over to Sora, Donald and Goofy, each beam hitting them and giving them costumes. The light cleared and I couldn't contain my laughter. I fell to the ground, literally rolling and crying at how ridiculous they looked. "You guys can't be serious." I say between laughs wiping tears away from my eyes.
"We wanted to cheer you up, and I guess it worked." Goofy says covering his face with a long silver wig, his pants a bit big on him, and he tried his best to look through the bangs. "For tonight I am Riku!"
"Wah... wait I thought I was going to be Riku?" Donald whines pushing back his brown short wig fidgeting with a cute little pink dress. "This is ridiculous!" He yells his foot tapping against the ground. "Well I guess I'm Kairi." He crosses his arms and turns away from us.
"Well at least you guys are part of the best trio." Sora says trying to cheer them up. He has big round ears on his head, and his nose was colored in black, and drawn on whiskers. I know Mickey doesn't actually have whiskers, but I think he looks kind of cute.
"Your majesty." Donald and Goofy, oops I mean Riku, and Kairi say in sync. they bow down and laugh and Sora places his hands on his hips, as if he had power.
"Wait... Halloween isn't for another week, why are we doing this now?" I ask finally coming back to my senses.
"Well people around here know what Halloween is so our first stop is here." Sora say stepping one foot back and crossing his arms behind his head. "So lets go!" He grabs my hand and we start running in the opposite direction.
"Oh Thank you!" I shout to the fairies they bow at us and disappear. We go around to all of the houses in the area and leave to go to Sunset Terrace. It seems there were definitely more people in this area, seeing as our pales were more full over on this side.
The day went on and the sun was now gone. We finished at the last house, our pales too full to put any more candy in them. We start to head back to the Gummi, all four of us sporting huge grins on our face. This day was perfect. I take my wig off and lay down on one of the beds in the Gummi.
"Alright, off to our next destination, The place Amara will enjoy most!" Goofy explained over the intercom.
"There's more?" I sat up to look at Sora and he was stuffing his face full of candy. I giggle a bit and he tries to eat faster to clear his airways.
"I thought we explained that already. The week of traveling is ahead of us. We had to stop in Twilight Town just to get our costumes." Sora says reaching in his pumpkin, and pulling out massive handfuls of candy.
"Oh that's right, you did say that already sorry." I giggle scratching the back of my head. He finished his candy in his hand again and grinned at me. "You know I don't remember you getting that much candy."
"Don't underestimate my ability to eat candy!" He says now grabbing the last bit of candy in his bucket. He looks up at me and smiles reaching in to try and grab more. I guess he didn't realize how much he had in his bucket. I giggle now moving to the other side of the room to sit next to him. He looked up at me with such sadness in his eyes.
"Well maybe you shouldn't eat all of your candy in one go." I giggle kissing his cheek. He smiles again, grabbing my chin, now staring at me. His eyes slowly closed and he moved closer, leaving no space between us. Our lips pressing together, his lips so soft, his hands so warm. His hand drops down and all of a sudden I hear rustling in my lap.
I try to let go and he pulls me back against his lips. "Wait what the heck are you doing." I say between kisses, I finally pull away and notice his hands were in my bucket of candy. "Hey!" I pull my treats away some falling to the floor. He looked down sad.
"Darn so close." He sighs and looks back up at me.
"You know I was planing on giving you some of my candy, as long as you promise not to scarf it down like your candy." He lit back up and he nodded bouncing up and down. "I can't tell if you're just hyper from the candy, or if you're just excited in general."
"Both!" He chuckles kissing me again. He moves so I can pour some of my candy in his bucket. "Thank you! I love you Amara." I fell backwards on the bed and I could feel my eyes getting heavy.
"You wear me out you know that?" He falls back on the bed too, his arm maneuvering behind me. He turned his head to look at me and I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.
"You know you love it." He chuckles his eyes starting to drooping too. I didn't even realize it, but we were finally asleep.
*One week later*
"Alright we're here!" I hear Donald screech on the intercom. I sit up in a panic and Sora snuggled up more on the small bed.
"Sora.. am I crazy?" I yawn stretching my arms up.
"Hmm?" He opens his eyes to look at me.
"Have we been asleep for a week?"
"You don't remember all of the fun stuff we did to pass time to get here?" He sits up concern on his face.
"No, do you?" I ask him.
"Yeah! Remember..." He stops himself and thinks for a second. "Well the writer is lazy..." He chuckles.
"Alright you two ready to go?" Goofy says to come and get us. "We're going to stay behind, so we don't have the problem we had the last time we were here."
"The last time we were here?" I say looking at Goofy when I stood up. He covered his mouth and Sora sighs. "We've been here before?" I ask them.
"Goofy!" Sora shouts standing up quickly.
"Sorry Sora." He dropped his head down.
"Don't tell me we're..." I feel a pain in my chest. "We're..."
"Surprise!" Sora says grabbing my hand and we were off the Gummi now standing in front of Tohru's house. My eyes begin to fill with tears. I try to speak, but there is a lump in my throat. This feels like a dream, but then again, seeing Sora for the first time felt like a dream.
The door swings open and there standing in the frame of the door was Tohru in her Kairi costume. She stared at us for a minute, grabbed some candy, put them in our pales and shut the door again. Didn't she recognize us? "Uh..."
I go to knock on the door, but before my hand reaches it, it swings open and standing there bugged eyed, was Tohru. She rubbed her eyes again and she stared at me again. "I must be asleep still." She reached her hand out and fondled my left boob. It bounced up and down and Sora fell backwards with the biggest nosebleed.
"Oh Damn... Sora!" I say turning away from Tohru to help Sora up. "Look what you did to him."
"Well at least we made here on time." He chuckled trying to wipe his nose clean.
"Amara!" She hugs me from behind. "It really is you!" I could feel my back soaked with her tears.
"It was a surprise for me too." I turn around to hug her and she squeezed me tight. Sora finally gets to his feet and Tohru lets me go.
"Well we wanted to surprise Amara, because of what she had to leave behind. It was a special occasion I hope you don't mind." Sora says scratching the back of his neck.
"I was asleep just a bit ago... I didn't even know if we were going to go trick or treating this year..."
"We?" I ask. I look behind her and standing behind her was a tired Miharu, wearing a Riku costume, he was stretching his hands in the air. Once he wiped the tears from his eyes he looked over at us and nearly had the same reaction Tohru had, minus the boob grab.
"I thought we wouldn't ever see you again." He says letting go of me, and he stands by Tohru. He reaches his hand over and holds hers tight.
"Oh my god are ship dreams finally coming true! Do my eyes deceive me?" I say electricity shooting through my body, and Sora puts his hand on my shoulder trying to calm me down a bit. "Well I guess that explains why Miharu was here."
"It happened almost a week after you had left!" Tohru says blushing. "It seems he finally got over you!" Sora flinched and grabbed my hand as soon as the words left her mouth.
"Wait... I was never into..."
"Oh come one Miharu." I say cutting him off and he blushed. "We all know how much you felt about me." I tease him and he starts turning red. It was easy to tell with the wig on.
"Yeah... you made it a bit obvious... and you enjoyed that her dad was rooting for you..." Tohru says scratching her cheek.
"You were into..." I hear Sora say pointing back and forward to me and Miharu. "My Amara." He squeezed my hand tighter and I swear he fidgeted forward so I was behind him.
"Wow..." Tohru says giggling. "He's more fidgety than I remember."
"Don't worry about it!" I say look at Sora. "Can't you see how he was meant to be with Tohru?" He relaxes a bit.
"Hold on, if you guys would have ended up together, you think Riku and I..." He turned red. and we all laugh.
"You have no idea how big that fandom actually is. People are rooting for you and Riku... little do they know I have you all to myself." I giggle and kiss his cheek. "Well this has been the best surprise! are we going to go trick or treating now?"
Both Tohru and Miharu stop laughing, worry worn all over their faces. They looked at me again and frown covered their faces. "Whats going on?" I ask.
"Well.. it's been a year since you... 'went missing.' " Tohru says. "And well... you're dad, has been in the worst shape..." My eyes widen. I knew this was going to happen, but I still left knowing what was going to happen to my dad. my head dropped and a pain squeezed in my chest. "We were going to spend time with him because, we're all that's left of your memory..."
"Ah I see.. well I guess we're going to have to leave now..." I say sadness filling in my heart.
"I have an idea come on!" Tohru grabs my hand and starts pulling me inside her house.
We arrive back at my house, my palms sweaty. Sora squeezes my hand reassuring me. Tohru knocks on the door, then looks back at me and places a finger on her mouth. My dad opens the door and I could feel tears falling down my face. "Trick or Treat!" He had the biggest smile on his face and he stepped to one side allowing us in.
"I'm glad you guys could make it to this Halloween party, it's Amara's favorite holiday." He says chuckling a bit. I was quite surprised to see a ton of people over, the whole house decked in in Halloween decor. "I see you guys have more guests with you. Hi I'm Todd, but everyone usually calls me Triton!" He says standing up in his Triton costume. I tried my best not to giggle.
"Well these are our friends from school, this is Aries, and her boyfriend Leo." She points to us and he reaches his hand out to shake it. I didn't move but Sora reached over to grab his hand. "Ah Aries is deaf she can't really hear or speak."
"Oh my apologies." He puts his drink down and begins signing to me. I didn't know he knew sign language. "I do like your Sora costume... that was my daughters favorite character of all time, in fact, at times, I was worried she had an unhealthy obsession with him... until that Sora look alike swept her away." He grunted the last words and Sora changed his voice.
"Well styling my wig was difficult, and I'm sorry if I bring bad memories." He says gruffly, I covered my mouth under my ghost costume.
"No, no... you're fine, don't let my bad memories ruin your time, we're hear for fun!" He reaches back and grabs his drink. No way is he drinking? Not a stick in the mud anymore huh dad. I smile and I wipe away some of my tears. We walk over to the food and Sora begins stuffing his face.
"God your fat." I whisper under my breath he smiles at me and and I start to walk down the hall, memories filling my head. I'm home, I'm standing in my home, and I have to pretend like I don't know my dad. Somehow I ended up in my room. I flicked the light on and everything was how I left it. The day we left for Disneyland. I walked in my hand running on top of one of the bookshelves. Heavy dust laid on top of everything. I wonder if it's too difficult for my dad to come in here. I walk over to my bed and sit down looking at the bean bag next to my bed.
The day I met Sora... He tripped here. My heart was pounding. I shake my head and I stand up. I may come back here someday, but today wasn't that day. I can't be caught in here, he'll know... I reach for the light switch and my dad was standing in the doorway. He signed to me are you okay. Thank god I took a class.
I tell him I was just looking for the bathroom, and I notice it was dusty. He sighs and points down the hall and shuts the door behind me once I'm out of the room. He doesn't explain anything and turns to go back to the party. I'm so sorry dad... I wiped a tear away and go to look for Sora.
He was still standing by the food and I pull him aside. "I think we should get going now, I've had enough of the memory lane stuff, we really need to get back on track to finding Riku, Kairi, the King, and defeating the bad people that I can't talk about." He drops his plate and lifts the sheet a bit still shielding me from everyone.
My face was puffy with tears. "I'm sorry, I didn't think we'd come back here." He drops the sheet down and we start to walk back to the crowded living room looking for Tohru and Miharu. Once we find them we walk out on the front porch, now I can't hold my tears back.
"This was a lot harder for me than I thought." I say in between hiccups. I lift my sheet up, my face getting warm from the fabrics.
"I was hoping everything would have been fine. The first nine months your dad didn't find you was the worst, but he is doing much better! Trust me, he actually loosened up a bit." Tohru says trying to cheer me up.
"He's still grieving..." I take in a deep breath and try to calm my breathing. "I promise I'll come back once all of this is over." I say looking up at them. "It's been great seeing you guys, and Halloween this week has been a blast, but I think we should get going, we wasted enough time as is. We'll be back we promise."
Miharu walks over to Tohru, and she leans on his shoulder, grabbing his hand, both of them smiling at us. "We know you'll be back, finish your adventure, we'll be here rooting you on!" A tear rolls down my cheek again. I go to hug them and the door flings open. Sora quickly pushes my sheet back down and Tohru and Miharu spin around to look at the person standing in the door.
"I was looking for you guys, but..." His eyes were wide. "Did I just see..." He starts walking outside to us and Sora and I start to walk away.
"Hey King Triton!" Miharu says distracting him. "They had to leave early because Leon's mom needed him to come home and take care of his brother." He say nervously. My dad looks at him for a second.
"I thought his name was Leo..." We didn't look back, but we didn't stop moving. I know if we started running it would be obvious, so we still kept our pace.
"It is Leo is short for Leon..." Tohru giggles nervously. I could feel his gaze like daggers on my back.
"Well... I was going to say that the night is still young!" He says enthusiastically. "But if it was Amara, I would love to tell her, that... I believe in her. I wouldn't be mad at her when she decided to come home." He knows, but I couldn't stop moving my feet.
"I'm sure if Amara was here, she would tell you how much she loves you Sir." Tohru says, it sounds like she was crying. "But like I said back then, her adventure has just begun. Don't loose faith, she'll be back one day." She grabs his arm and leads him back in.
"Don't worry dad... Some day." I whisper, feeling a warmth in my heart, and a new strength. We were finally a good distance away to talk believes in me. Sora looks at me and smiles.
"You're not crying..."
"That's because I found my strength." I say looking at him. "Thank you Sora. This is the best surprise." He leans over and kisses my cheek.
