Sophia stopped her thoughts in their tracks as a cream envelope appeared on the desk beside her. She gently places her new weapon on her desk and picked it up, surprised when it opened at her touch to reveal an invitation. Sophia read through it as she got to her feet, walking out of her room to question Eve about it, only to bump into the vampire in question.
"So you got one too" Eve stated, holding up another invitation. Sophia didn't even dignify it with a reply; she merely looked to the doorway as she heard someone walking down the stairs.
"Apparently we're not the only ones" Sophia added, looking over Eve's shoulder. The vampire turned to see Mary in the doorway also holding a piece of cream card.
"I wonder who else got one" Sophia muttered.

As it turned out, the entire Baker Street 'family' had one, which meant shopping was in order. The moment they arrived in the shopping centre, the men broke off on their own route, leaving the women to wander freely through the many dress stores until they finally found the one they were each looking for.
They returned to Baker Street three hours after the Sherlock and John, only to find a note telling them they'd been pulled in on a case, leaving them the afternoon to get ready before the ball.

"Wow" was all Eve could say as she looked around the ballroom they'd been magically transported to.
"Yes, it's amazing even by our standards" a familiar voice added beside them, causing Eve to turn on her heel.
"See Sherlock, I told you it wasn't a trap, Sarah and Jareth are here" Molly pointed out before dragging Sherlock away at the sight of an old friend.
"And that's the last we'll see of them tonight" Eve muttered as Mary and John wandered off too. They were closely followed by Jareth and Sarah as a slow song started to play, Eve was pulled into it by a familiar archangel, leaving Sophia to watch.
Sophia noted all the important figures as they danced, surprised to find Mycroft among them. Needless to say, she was even more surprised by the couple that walked her way when the first song finished.
"Charlotte?" Sophia questioned, to which the vampire nodded. Sophia raised an eyebrow at the long silver dress Charlotte was wearing, then turned her attention to the man she had been dancing with.
"Ian" he introduced himself before Sophia asked, causing Sophia's eyebrows to almost join as one.
"THE Ian she keeps talking about, her co-star?" Sophia inquired, to which Ian chuckled but nodded.
"Okay then, I'm Sophia Midnight, one of the consulting Hunters of Baker Street"

Charlotte stood on the balcony and watched the fan have an animated conversation with Ian, rather more irritated than she'd ever admit, because she hadn't been recognised. She was busy listening to the conversation when someone walked up to her.
"Are you going to dump him because he's ignoring you too?" a grating voice asked, but Charlotte didn't respond.
"It's kinda hard to ignore me forever, we are both immortals after all" it continued, so Charlotte walked away, only to be held back as a hand reached out and grabbed her arm.
"Remove your hand or I'll rip it off" Charlotte snarled.
"I'll remove it for you if you want Lotty, I think I could cut it off, at least then you wouldn't ruin your dress" Sophia offered as she approached. The hand was retracted, but its owner wasn't happy about doing so. In fact, he went as far as storming away with the dramatic flair that only a vampire has, coming to a stop[ on the other side of the room.
"The eternal arse" Charlotte grumbled as she made her way back to Ian's side, watching Sophia's glaring match with said arse out of the corner of her eye. It went no further for as long as the conversation lasted, after which Charlotte got pulled into another dance.

Sophia strolled along the outside of the mansion, trying to get as far away from the stuffy party as possible. She was surprised to hear a set of footsteps behind her, having made sure that she wasn't followed out.
The footsteps stopped as soon as they'd first become audible and Sophia was about to turn when a hand yanked her hair, pulling her head back long enough to expose her throat. Most of the guests knew what she was, so she was surprised when a head appeared next to hers a fraction of a second before the fangs cut through the skin of her exposed throat.
No matter what Sophia did, the vampire wouldn't release her, so instead she focussed on learning their identity. The task in itself didn't take very long, Charlotte's harassing ex. The vampire suddenly released Sophia and she stumbled forward, the vampire vanished before she could retaliate.

Sophia returned to the ball twenty minutes later wearing a black choker to cover the marks on her neck, the moon charm dangling at the base of her throat.
"What happened to you?" Ian questioned when he noticed the choker
"Charlotte's Stalker ex happened, but its okay, he'll get what he deserves" Sophia assured the vampire, waving away his concern.
"Did he drink your blood?" Charlotte asked, to which Sophia nodded. Charlotte's grin made Ian take a small step back.
"It's certainly one way to get rid of the idiot; he brought it on himself too, so no-one can be blamed for his death."
"I heard something about death, what's going on now?"
"Desmond! I didn't think you'd be here tonight!" Sophia greeted the vampire. This got raised eyebrows from the two vampires already standing there, so the newcomer introduced himself.
"Professor Desmond Sycamore, I consulted with them on a case a short while back and we seem to keep bumping into each other ever since" he told them as they shook hands.
"Charlotte Evans and Ian Somerhalder, both acting in 'The Vampire Diaries' over in America" Sophia explained for the couple. Desmond grinned and Sophia smirked, seeing the fanboy start to emerge.
"Oh, I didn't answer your question. Charlotte's ex just had a bit of a snack and now we know that he's going to die soon. And not by your hand either" Sophia quickly said.

Sophia grinned as a body was brought into the morgue two days later, showing signs of a werewolf bite but there was no actual visible wound. Sophia took a quick picture as she left the morgue, sending it to Charlotte. She sent a quick reply.
Ha! The bastard deserves what he got.

Couldn't agree more.

She paused mid-step as she had a thought, deciding to send it in a second reply.
We could have let Desmond get his hands on him, that would have been fun too.
