CHAPTER 15

Light glowered down at L in pure anger, fisting his baggy white long sleeved shirt that missed the laundry a few times.

"L-Light-kun?"

The brunette scowled and seethed. "Do not ever do that again, Ryuzaki. Everyone has been searching for you all day!"

"This is a library!" The librarian's shrilly voice echoed towards the two.

"Frankly, I don't give a fuck," Light muttered to himself.

"Pardon me?"

"Sorry," then he turned to face L and shook his head in dismay.

L quietly questioned. "Why did you come here?"

"C'mon, of course a nerdy freak like you would hide in the library first," Light chuckled. "How typical of you, Ryuzaki."

He remained silent and his eyes fell down on the ground.

Silence.

"L, I know."

With those three words, his walls broke down. Dangerous thoughts filled his mind. What if he knew about BB prior? Could Watari be saved? Would he still be breathing to this hour? Maybe if L did not go out with Light on the whim that maybe-

L's eyes widened as Light's arms embraced him, tightly.

"W-What?"

He smirked. "Everyone has down time in their lives. Even you, Ryuzaki."

His eyes were brimmed with tears. The warm liquid escaped L's ducts and rolled across the canvas of his pale cheeks. Does Light care? Butterflies drowned his internal body. It was a pleasant feeling. He could feel his hands on his back massaging all of his tense areas. That also felt equally pleasant. His mind wandered to the other parts of his body Light could touch to evoke such a response.

L realized it all at once.

He was terribly in love with Kira.

Unexpectedly.

He wanted to kiss him again. He loved imagining to see him squirm under his lustful gaze. He wished to zealously hold him in his arms, showing off their relationship to the world. Frankly, it did not matter he was Kira anymore. Kira or not, he was still Light Yagami. His first nemesis. His first friend. His first love. L never thought his feelings would elevate to this extreme. He avoided it at all costs. Emotions? It only got in the way of his career. Having feelings for a significant other opened more weaknesses for enemies. It was dangerous. Love is dangerous. Yet. . . Light-kun is an exception. Strange indeed.

The thing that bothered L Lawliet the most was. . .

Light Yagami did not feel the same way for himself.

Even as the top detective, L could not deduct if and/or when he would. There was no science to explain childish romance. It was quite silly in his opinion. However, that was his old self.

". . . thank you."

"Hm? What was that?"

"I said thank you, Ki-"

"Hey, let's not dive into that ugly topic of discussion now of all times," Light let him go and grinned crookedly. "Let's go, Ryuzaki."

He scratched his messy hair. "Where to?"

'He is absolutely adorable,' L thought to himself, internally cursing for thinking such absurdity. 'You are supposed to be the top detective, not the top love struck person in Japan.'

"Anywhere you want to," he smiled. "Treat's on me. Figured we both needed a break from all this private investigations and not to mention, your crazy ass twin with a peculiar strawberry fetish."

A small laugh left his lips without realizing it.

"See," Light's smile doubled in size. "It's not the end of the world just yet."

"Are you trying to comfort. . ."

"Perhaps." He flicked his forehead lightly and laughed heartily. "So you better damn well use your time with me today well, Ryuzaki."

"Oh. I see."

A vibration sound was heard from Light's pants. (No, not that way, you sick bastards.) He pulled out his phone and the brightness shone on his face. At that moment, L realized how naturally good looking Light was. Not a single hair was out of its way. His jawline was defined and added to his total masculinity. His brown eyes were bigger than the usual Japanese guy. His sun-kissed complexion held no flaw - pimple, freckle, scar ceased to exist on his face. Light's mouth fell open in shock.

"What is it?"

". . . that old fart is alive!"

A/N: Please please don't kill me for the short chapter! I feel like it's okay for this section because a lot of things are being admitted here hue. I'm not sure when the next time I'll update but probably by next week and after this weekend. I am hella busy this weekend ugh.
