Cat? You ok?" Kayla asked while knocking softly on the bathroom door. It had already been more than two hours since they set the bath for her and helped her in it. Kayla looked over to Nia nervously.
"Catharine" Nia said more firmly and gripped the doorknob and twisted it open.
They walked inside and found Catharine sitting in the tub exactly how they had left her. She stared blankly at the tub water. Eyes void of all emotions.
"Cat?" They called again getting closer to the tub.
No answer.
"Catharine! Come on snap out of it" Nia tried again placing a hand on her shoulder. The only response they got was her head turning to face them but her expression never changed. She looked defeated.
"Nia go get her a towel and some clean clothes. I'll help her wash her wash up in the mean time" Kayla said with a frown when Cat hadn't made another move. Nia nodded and headed out the door closing it behind her. Kayla sighed and kneeled down next to the tub and began to pull out leaves and twigs that had managed to get in Cat's hair while she was gone. She reached over and grabbed a cup that was by the sink and used it to soak Cat's hair before she added shampoo and began to lather it in. Catharine never said anything and continued to stare off blankly into space as Kayla took care of her. After she was done washing her hair Kayla grabbed a sponge and began scrubbing and taking of all the grime off her.
She grabbed Cat's hand and placed the luffa in it.
"Come on Cat snap out of it already! I really don't want to wash your lady bits" Kayla pleaded.
Cat's hand clenched around the luffa.
"…Thanks Kay" Cat muttered softly as she finished washing the rest of herself.
"No problem"
The door to the bathroom opens once more and Nia walked in with a clean towel and fresh clothes for Catharine.
"Good you finally snapped out of it" Nia said handing her the towel as Kayla helped her up.
"Is he back yet?" Cat asked softly as she got out of the tub and finished putting on her clothes.
"Who cares" Nia scoffed "Now hurry up and get changed you need to get something to eat and get some rest being in the forest for almost three weeks must have been hard on your body"
"I need to talk with him"
"Like hell we're gonna let him anywhere near you" Kayla growled.
"I need to speak with him" Cat glared at them.
"You're not going near him. He's done enough damage to you already"
"Fuck you guys! I need to talk with him!"
"Sorry Cat" Nia sighed and hit her on a pressure point near her neck.
"Nia!" Kayla shouted as she caught Cat before she hit the ground.
"What? You know he's only hurting her! We can't let him near her the link is already fragile enough as it is" Nia said picking up Cat's legs and help Kayla take Catharine back to the room.
"I know, but did you really have to knock her out" Kayla muttered.
"You know she would have gone looking for him"
Kayla sighed knowing she had a point.
"Is…she alright?" Donnie asked as he saw Nia and Kayla carry out Catharine to their room.
"Back off asshole" Kayla shoved passed him. Donatello stumbled and his shell hit the wall he sighed in defeat.
Cat groaned softly and carefully sat up while rubbing her sore neck.
"Stupid Nia" she muttered under her breath. She looked around the room and noticed it was already night time and her friends were already spread out on the floor sleeping. She stood up and made her way out the door.
"Go back to sleep Cat" Nia called out.
"I need to pee your highness!" Cat hissed quietly leaving the room.
She silently made her way through the house. She had lied. She was actually going to leave again before anyone realized she was tried to stop her. Nia had saw her already but she wouldn't stop her. She had hoped to get a chance to talk to Donatello before she did but it look like that wasn't going to happen.
Quietly she opened the house front door and walked out closing it behind her the same way. She started off in a run but came to a halt as a dim light from inside the barn caught her eye. Damn curiosity. It always got the better of her. She made her way to the barn peeking inside and saw Donatello and Casey working together on the old car and actually getting along.
"What are you guys doing?" She asked softly stopping them immediately in there movements.
"Cat you're awake!" Casey said surprised. The tone in his voice made her think she had been out longer than just a couple hours.
"How long have I been out?" She asked carefully.
"Three days…you should go back to bed...get some more rest" Donatello quietly rubbing his arm while avoiding her stare.
"I'm fine" she frowned and looked towards the almost done vehicle "Why are you guys working on this together?" She quickly changed the topic.
"There's this crazy driver wreaking havoc on the streets it almost ran me, April and Don off the road when we went to get supplies, so me and Don are gonna show him up" Casey stated.
"Ok?" She tilted her head confused then turned to Donatello "Can I talk to you?"
His eyes widen and he looked around nervously as if waiting for someone to attack him. She scowled no doubt Kayla and Nia already made their threats to him about him staying away from her. Casey went back to working on the car.
"I…I don't think that's a good idea" he shook his head and took a step back.
She rolled her eyes and grabbed his strap pulling him outside the barn with her.
"Catharine...I really don't think this is a good idea" Donnie pleaded trying to retch free from her grip.
"Relax! they're sleeping…for now" Cat said looking towards the house. She was sure she would have enough time to talked to him before Nia realized she was taking way too long.
He swallowed thickly but gave in "What did you want to talk about?" He finally asked.
"I just…look I know Donatello" Cat sighed triedly.
"W-what?"
"I know…I know you like April, I know...you know about us soul-urges. I'm not stupid and I know you aren't either" she narrowed her eyes at him.
"Catharine I—" she held up a hand to stop him and he shut his mouth obediently.
"It's not fair! You're suppose to be mine!" she whimpered softly leaning her forehead against against his plastron "I don't know why you're doing it" she paused to get a hold of her feeling before continuing. His instincts were screaming at him to comfort her to hold her tightly but she moved away before he could move. Her head down as she wiped away her tears with her arm's sleeve. She looked up towards him giving him the biggest fake smile she could give him.
He felt sick to his stomach.
"…But I won't stop you. I just want you to be happy and if that's with…her, then I'm okay with that" she swallowed thickly clutching her heart. She couldn't even bring herself to said April's name.
"Catharine—" he tried to reach for her but she stepped just out of his range.
"Don't worry, I'll find a MAR…It'll be okay, bye Donnie" Cat said running into the forest. She had called him Donnie. She never called him Donnie. He didn't like her calling him Donnie.
"Catharine wait!" Donnie shouted running after her only to lose her once again like the day April had kissed him. Then the memory replayed in his mind.
Cat kneeled down to his level and pulled his strap "You listen to me! When you get back to your world you look for me…er…younger me, Catharine Carter do I make myself clear?" Younger Donnie looked between the woman in front of him and his older self.
"I'd do what she says" Donatello chuckled telling his younger self "You won't regret it" he promised with a smile.
"Ahh!" He angrily punched the tree next to him and headed back to the barn giving once final look towards the forest.
