He pounded against the wall. They had to let him in again.
"Please! Let me in! I promised I wouldn't leave her! Please!" He slammed his shell against the wall.
Crack
He clenched his teeth as pain shot through him. He slid down the wall a trial of blood dripping down his shell as he cried.
"Michelangelo" a hand was placed on his shoulder. His head turned upward to see Joshua stand behind him.
"Joshua!" He turned on his knees, gripping handfuls of his cloak "Please let me see her"
"I don't think that's a good idea" he helped him up.
"Please? I promised her. I promised her!" He whimpered.
Joshua sighed he knew he wasn't going to be able to turn him away.
Master Splinter watched as his sons and friends entered the lair noticing that they were one member short.
"Where is Michelangelo?"
"I don't know, he ran off sensei" Leo admitted.
"He needs time alone to deal with what happen with Kayla" Donnie said softly.
Master Splinters eyes soften and his heart went out to his youngest. He knew the pain that he was going through having gone through it himself.
"I see" he sighed "In the meantime why don't you tell me of your adventures"
"I would love to sensei but is it ok we wait a bit, I promised Joshua I would also tell him" Leo replied.
"Very well I will make tea in the meantime" Splinter nodded.
Half an hour passed before Joshua finally showed up with him was Nia, Skyler and Catharine.
The girls rushed to their mates not caring if Joshua and Master Splinter were watching them.
Cat ran into Donnie's waiting embrace wrapping her arms around his neck and placing a firm kiss on his lips.
"You're ok" she muttered.
"Of course why wouldn't I be?" he wiped away some of the tears away and held her tighter.
"Just saw Kayla and...and I thought you were hurt too" she hiccuped.
"No just sore I promise" he assured her.
Nia looked Leo over something was different about him not counting the new cuts and bruises he sported.
"You're taller" she whispered as Leo tilted his head confused. She realized before they had been the same height and now she had to tilt her head up to look him in the eyes.
"I missed you" he murmured holding her close and placing his head on top of hers. His words confused her they had only been away for only about two hours about the most yet he sounded as if he hadn't seen her for months.
Raphael sighed in content as Skyler cupped his face, he leaned his forehead against her just happy to be near her once more.
"Are y-you alright? You're n-not hurt too bad r-right?" She whispered worried.
"I'm fine just a couple of scratches nothing you can't fix" he chuckled nuzzling her neck and breathing in her scent and placing a gentle kiss on her jugular. Pleased to feel the soft beating of her heart against his lips, letting him know that she was alive, well and that they had manage to save earth this time around.
Joshua and Splinter let them have their moment before they got down to business. They could tell a lot had happen to the boys if not by their change in attitude then certainly by their physical appearance. They had grown taller and seem to have lost their baby fat and gain couple of pounds in muscle. It wasn't a lot but definitely a difference a few hours ago. Splinter had somewhat an idea considering he had witness a part of it but Joshua was left confused at the sudden change and had hope to get answers.
"I should let you know Michelangelo is in Divinity...he refuses to leave her side" Joshua told Splinter.
"That...is somewhat a relief" Splinter sighed glad his youngest son was somewhere safe "I am deeply sorry for what happened. I never expected her to jump in the way"
"Kayla..." Joshua swallowed hard before he continued "...She does what she thinks is right even if it gets her into trouble" he sighed.
"Is she alright?"
"She's stable at the moment but it'll take her couple months to heal properly even with the Menders helping her heal, the area she was stabbed through is the hardest to heal even for our Master Menders"
"I am forever in your daughter's debt" Splinter said softly.
They gathered in the living room and Leo began to explain everything that had happen to them in the past six months. By the time he finished everyone had been looking at Joshua nervously. The air around him had shifted and his jaw was clenched tight.
"I. Want. Names." Joshua's voice turned cold "I want names and I want to know where I can find them" He turned towards Splinter.
"Vengeance is not the answer my friend"
"This is more than just vengeance!" He spat "We're talking about maniacs that goes around killing and hurting people over something that happened years ago!" Joshua snapped at Splinter "You knew first hand what he's capable of and you still refuse to take him out?!"
They watched silently as Splinter and Joshua began to argue not daring to say a word in fear that they will make them even more angry.
"We must not succumb to his level" Splinter stated calmly.
"You may not want to Splinter but I have no problem doing it" Joshua glared.
"Joshua this road you plan to take will come with many regrets" Splinter tried to reason.
"I will regret nothing! I was made into an Elder for a reason and that is to protect my people and any innocent bystanders! This Shredder you speak of is nothing but a delusional psychopath that will stop at nothing to harm you, your family and friends! And now that your sons are involved with my girls he will come after them too! AND I REFUSE TO LET THAT HAPPEN AGAIN!" He shouted angrily a blast of wind roll off him making any papers scatter in the process.
Splinter stayed silent and Joshua took a deep breathe to calm himself before letting it out slowly.
"Either you help me or you don't, it doesn't really matter, I will track him down along with his goons and I will get rid of them for good" he hissed.
"You do not know who you are dealing with! Shredder will show you no mercy even I have difficulty with him" Splinter finally spoke.
"And you do not know what I am capable of, I have lived for more than a hundred years I think I can manage" Joshua stated. Master Splinter's eyes widen at this bit of information along with everyone else minus Cat, Nia and Skyler.
"Wait a sec! You're over a hundred years old?!" Casey blurted out.
"How is that possible?" April asked unable to believe it.
"Our race lives a long time, if anything I am the youngest Elder there is at the moment" he explained.
"You guys weren't joking when you said you live a long time" Donnie looked down at Cat.
"We're getting off topic" Joshua sighed and he turned to Master Splinter "Splinter I know you have history with him in the past judging by how you hesitate but I know people like him. They. Do. Not. Stop. They will continue to harm even when there is no one left to harm. So I will ask you one last time...what is his full name"
Splinter sighed "If anyone if going take down Shredder...it must be me" he said firmly. His eyes locking with Joshua letting him know he was serious "But can I count on you to cover me if something should go wrong?"
"Sound like a plan but I don't promise to play fair" Joshua smirked.
Splinter's ears dropped a bit "I can see where the girls get their habits" he smiled gently.
"Guilty" he chuckled "Well then now that that is settled I must be on my way I will let you know if anything changes with Kayla and I will sent Michelangelo home before it gets too late" Joshua nodded.
"Thank you" Splinter said gratefully.
"Girls be careful when you walk home take the tunnels" he told them and then nodded at his words.
"Don't worry we'll walk them home" Donnie assured him.
