I literally forced myself to sit down yesterday and write this chapter. I'm glad I did too! Cause once I started writing it just started to flow and I even got the next chapter almost done too! So be on the look out for that! :)

I know I skipped a couple episodes and it probably would have been a good Joshua VS Shredder but I have something else in mind for that.

I don't proofread my chapters! Lol I just dish them out as I write them cause I'm too lazy to do it.

Two weeks has gone by and Kayla showed no signs of waking up anytime soon. Mikey had stayed by her side the whole time only leaving to bathe himself in the bathroom that was attached to her room. Food was brought to him by the nurses however he didn't eat much of it, his appetite seem to be gone and if was begin to show. There had only been two times he had left and that was to help his brothers track shredder and find Master Splinter when there found it to be a set up. Shredder had become the thing he hated most and mutated himself into becoming this super Shredder that Master Splinter stood no chance against. They were able to find him easily thanks to Cat's ability.

"Michelangelo" Joshua called to him receiving no response from him "Your father asked me to bring you home"

"I'm not leaving her" he said stubbornly.

"Your family and friends are worried about you they just want to see you if you alright"

"They can see me here"

"You know I can't do that, I'm breaking a lot a rules for you to even be here the only reason they're allowing it is because you're her Soul-Urge you know that right" Joshua sighed.

He knew. While Nia, Skyler, and Cat had been able to visit, his brothers would wait at home for their intendeds to come back to give them any new news on him and Kayla.

"...she wouldn't want you to be this way you know" Joshua tried again.

Mikey flinched at his words because he knew he was right "I...know b-but I just can't leave her" he whimpered.

"I'll watch over her, this isn't just for your family Michelangelo it for you too" he placed a hand on his shoulder in comfort.

"But—"

"Go" he left no room for arguing.

"You'll let me know if anything changes?"

"You have my word" Joshua nodded.

"...Okay" Mikey finally submitted "I'll be back Kay, I promise" he whispered softly to her and placed a kiss on her forehead.

Back at the lair it had been unsettling quiet without Mikey and his occasional pranks tensions had been running high between Leo and Raph and the only thing holding them back was Nia and Skyler. Donnie has submerged himself in his work with Cat only being able to draw him out to eat and rest and even then it was only for a few hours.

Karai would occasionally drop by with her friend Shinigami to let them know of there next plans to find where Shredder was hiding or how to draw him out of hiding. Nothing ever went as planned.

April had become a full fledge kunochi and with the that necklace she received in space she had been drastically not only in her body training but also in her psyche abilities.

It was a little alarming, at least to Cat it was. There was something off about the small trinket, it had its own aura and it was resonating with April. Not only that but April had become quite obsessed with it too.

Something everyone noticed.

That's what led them where they are now. In Donnie's lab as he hooked her up to the same contraption they put her in back in the barn house. Nia and cat were sitting on his desk from a safe distance.

"Are you sure this is a good idea, Donnie?" Leo asked as he sat on a chair backward facing April's back as she sat on the floor legs crisscrosses and her arms crossed over her chest.

"Um, yeah. Last time you hooked me up to this thing, it made me blind and mentally connected to a giant fish-bird-worm thing." April said annoyed

"Don't worry. I've upgraded it since then. It's perfectly safe I promise." Donnie he assure as the main unit gave a small explosion. He chuckled nervously as she glared at him.

"But it could possibly explode your head" Cat teased and April rolled her eyes at her.

"Your psychic powers have been expanding rapidly since you were given that Aeon crystal. It's imperative I test its limits. For your own sake." Donnie explained as he waved away the small smoke.

"I have it under control. Besides, if it weren't for my powers, we never would have gotten away from Shredder. You saw what I did to that mutated freak." April huffed.

"That's what worries us." Leo added.

"I just need to examine your crystal." Donnie tried to reason.

"No! I'm not taking it off!" She clutched it close to her chest and Donnie backed away in surprise at her out burst "Don't even ask again, Donnie." April snapped.

"Calm down April he's going to give it back" Nia said.

"That thing isn't safe, it's messing with your head" Cat pointed out as she jumped off the desk and walked over to Donnie.

"It's safe, as long as I have it." April snapped back making Cat flinch and stumble back into Donnie who steadied her.

"You ok?" He asked her quietly noticing she looked a bit confused.

"I'm fine" she swallowed hard.

She was not fine. That thing around April's neck aura's grew darker feeding off April's own aura but as quickly as she noticed it, it was gone within the next second returning to a lighter grey glow. Something was definitely wrong but she would have to wait to tell the guys when April was not around to tell them.

Donnie looked between the two girls and shook his head. Something was wrong by the look on Cathrine's face.

"Hmm. In any case I want to see if I can replicate how this crystal increases your powers, that could provide a frame of reference"

"Increase her powers?" Leo said stand up and looking at him as if he were crazy.

"Don't worry, only slightly by maybe 0.3%?" Donnie stated as he turned on the machine "April, let me know if you feel anything, okay? Tingling, headache—"

April scoffed cutting him off "I told you, I'm fine. Just leave the crystal- Ahh!" She began to scream and the objects in the room began to float and spin wildly. Donnie pulled Catharine close to him to protect her from any flying objects and Leo got into a defensive stance towards Nia giving her room to protect herself but if anything she couldn't handle he would be there to jump in.

"I knew this was a bad idea!" Leo shouted trying to make a grab at the Aeon crystal. April turned to him eyes glowing white and she roared at him releasing more energy in a burst that threw them away from her before she fell unconscious.

"What are you guys—" Raph yelled as he pushed the jammed door open pausing as he saw his brothers and friends groaning on the floor "Huh? Oh, no. April!" He ran towards their friend. Skyler following close behind him and checking for any injuries.

"She's out, b-but she seems okay" Sky commented as as everyone began to crowd around her.

"We've got to get this away from her" Donnie said taking the crystal off her neck. The crystal began to jerk in his hands and he lost his hold from the surprise "The crystal!" He shouted

"I got it." Raph caught it between his hands and hammered it to a desk.

"That should hold it, for now." Donnie sighed as the crystal tried to get near April again.

"What happened in here? April?" Splinter entered the room and kneeled in front of April to check over her.

"It's that alien crystal." Nia commented.

"It's been messing with her head" Leo added.

"That crystal has a strong hold on both her mind and spirit. It has become too dangerous." He narrowed his eyes.

"That's not all it's doing" Cat shook her head.

"What do mean?" Donnie asked.

"I don't know how to explain it but it's doing something to her...I...I can see it" her eyes never left April's form the once bright yellow aura was slowly becoming murky in color.

"Sensei's right. I need to break its connection with her. Somehow..." Donnie frowned.

"I will tend to her in the dojo. Perhaps the mantras will help" Splinter stood up.

"I got her, Sensei" Leo said carrying her in his arms bridal style to the dojo.

"What's going on? Why is Leo carrying April?"

"Mikey!" His brothers and friends shouted happy to see him and went to embrace him.

"How are you?" Raph asked carefully.

"I'm...fine" he smiled weakly. He felt lost. He wanted to go back to Kayla but seeing his brothers and friends worried yet relieved faces at seeing him stopped him.

His brothers frowned. He didn't look fine. He was much thinner than they remembered him and there were dark circles around his eyes but before they could comment Raph's phone rang.

"Mutagen? Okay, sit tight. We're on our way. And don't do anything stupid like try to take them on all by yourself again" Raph growled at Casey over the phone "We gotta move. Casey spotted Shredder's goons wrestling up some mutagen from an old Kraang lab"

"Let's go, Donnie?" Leo turned to him.

"I need to keep an eye on this crystal. It's too dangerous to leave unattended" he shook his head "And I have to find a way to sever its connection to April maybe Catharine can help me see if any of my methods work seeing as she can see it their auras" he continued.

"Mikey?" Leo asked unsure if his younger brother should go seeing his state.

"Let's go" Mikey eyes narrowed. He will make anyone that was working for Shredder pay.
