I apologize to all you Jack lovers.
"It is nice to finally meet the creature that broke Fluttershy's heart." Jack's tone dripped with poison.
Discord fought his urge to run and hide. He stood his ground and lifted his chin. "I didn't break it willingly."
"Yet you would make the same choice again, even though now you know that it would nearly kill Fluttershy."
This made Discord's hackles rise. "How do you know that I wouldn't change anything?"
"Fluttershy confides in me. You won't believe some of the things she has told me. Things that you still don't know about her. I have earned her trust and love. Do you have anything to show of her love and trust? A little ring that she never takes off and Tina, who is just as messed up as you are." Jack held a dramatic hoof to his chest. "Oh, did that hurt your ego? I would apologize, but I am not sorry. It galls me to see such a beautiful mare hung up over a monster who abandoned her and attached to such an eyesore filly, even such delightful filly such as Tina."
"Do. Not. Talk. About. Tina. Like. That." Discord growled between clenched teeth.
"It is true." Jack kicked at a pebble. "Who would ever think that a filly with bat wings, a donkey hoof, and polka dots would ever be even remotely close to pretty?"
Discord created a huge boulder over the stallion's head, but Jack just smiled and side stepped out of the way. He patted the new boulder next to him and turned back to Discord. "Enough about Tina. We are here to talk about Fluttershy, no?"
Discord growled at the stallion. "Even if she doesn't ever look at me with affection again, Fluttershy will always mean the world to me."
"Yet you chose to save the world instead of being with Fluttershy and making her happy." The jab hit Discord's heart, then he thought of something.
"Though it must hurt your ego even more that Fluttershy hasn't even let you kiss her." Jack stiffened, remembering Fluttershy's reaction to his attempt. "Tina tells me that every time you try, Fluttershy has turned away, and she hasn't answered your proposal yet either. She agreed to mine within a minute, and has been avoiding your proposal for the past few-"
Discord's words were cut off by a dark cloud that surrounded both Discord and Jack. The last thing that Discord felt was overwhelming terror.
A cold shiver ran up Luna's spine.
"Luna?"
The dark alicorn to to her older sister. "Just a strange feeling. 'Tis nothing."
Both sisters looked out of the window, an unsettled feeling resting in their stomachs.
Fluttershy woke up with a headache. She moaned and sat up, rubbing her forehead. She had been in the garden, then this black cloud had surrounded her. She opened her eyes and gasped. She was in a doorless room. On the wall opposite to her, writing started to magically appear.
Two Doors. Two Lovers.
One truly holds your heart,
so your heart will lead you.
Choose wisely
for there are no second guesses.
Choose quickly.
There is no time to save both.
Two lovers? Jack and Discord, and no time to save both. A glow behind her caused her to turn around. Two identical doors stood side by side. Fluttershy looked back and forth between the two. How could she know which stallion was behind which door?
Her heart said go to the right and she unconsciously started to move towards that door. She had to save Jack. She was about to open it, when something stopped her.
Go left, a little part of her heart urged. It was quiet and felt almost suppressed. Fluttershy shook her head, and reached for the right door again. That little part of her heart stopped her again. Fluttershy groaned in frustration and walked away from the doors.
How can I follow my heart when even my heart doesn't know?
Fluttershy sat down and looked at her choices.
"'One truly holds your heart'?" Fluttershy closed her eyes and leaned against the wall. Memories flashed across her mind.
When she and Jack first met. Their first date. Jack bring over meals when Tina was sick. Never once had they fought. There were a couple times, like when he asked her to marry him and when he kissed her, when she ran instead of facing him.
"No matter where I am, I will always love you."
When had Jack said that? Fluttershy fought to remember, but Jack never said that. Discord had. It was the last thing he had said to her before he had fought Mortifero.
Rose petals. Wonderful starlit nights. That small part of her heart grew louder. Fluttershy opened her eyes, and ran to the left door and yanked it open, even though every fiber of her being protested. She ran head first into the dark hallway. Doors lined each of the walls, all of them calling for her to open them, but none drew her attention. She kept running and running until she stopped.
One door was silent. Fluttershy cautiously walked up to the door and pressed her ear up to it. Just barely, she could hear her lullaby being hummed a little off key. She laughed a little to herself and quietly opened the doors.
She tiptoed over to the chained draconequus and sat down next to him.
"Hush now, quiet now,
It's time to lay your sleepy head.
Hush now, quiet now,
It's time to go to bed."
Fluttershy placed a soft hoof on Discord's shoulder. Her heart had led her here, so her true love must be her first love.
"Drift, drift off to sleep,
An exciting day behind you.
Drift, drift off to sleep,
Let the joy of dreamland find you."
Discord stopped humming, and looked up. "Fluttershy?"
"Discord."
"Fluttershy!" The pegasus spun around to see Jack chained to the wall, beaten and bruised. "Thank Celestia that you found me!"
"Fluttershy, what's wrong? What are you looking at?" Discord asked.
"Don't you see him? Jack is chained to the wall!" She started to walk towards Jack. Jack was there as well? Maybe her heart had led her here because of him.
"No pony is there, Fluttershy." Fluttershy stopped and looked back at Discord. "This place plays tricks on your mind."
Fluttershy looked at Jack. "Fluttershy! Please unchain me and we can get out of here!"
The two voice got louder and louder, screaming for her attention, until Fluttershy covered her ears to block them both out.
"Fluttershy." A soft voice came from the door. A small white earth filly stood there. Both Jack's and Discord's voice stopped. "Neither of them are real. Come, and I will lead you to him." The filly held out a hoof. Fluttershy walked to the door, ignoring the voices shouting for her to come back. She took the small hoof and the door shut behind her, cutting off the shouts.
"Brother, likes to play tricks like that. He wouldn't make it so easy for you to find either one of them. Your love is this way." A section of floor glowed and a trap door was revealed. "He is waiting for you."
Fluttershy turned to thank the little filly, but she was gone. Fluttershy turned back to the new opening. The room beyond the trapdoor was pitch black. A soft groan of pain came from the darkness. Fluttershy quickly glided down into the darkness.
Fluttershy landed on the floor. "Hello?"
"Not again. Please, stop. Haven't you done enough to me already? Just leave me in peace." Fluttershy turned towards the pain-filled voice. Her heart broke free of any doubt, fluttering in her chest.
"It's me."
"Fluttershy?"
"I came for you." Fluttershy stepped closer to her love.
"What about-"
"I never really loved him. I love you. No matter where you are or what happens, I will always love you." Fluttershy reached out into the darkness. Her hoof was gently taken, and she was pulled into a strong chest.
"I love you too, Fluttershy."
A pair of lips met hers, and a glow filled the room.
A/N: Oooooo! Guess who you think Fluttershy found. There is a poll on my profile page. I want to see how many Jack lovers (sorry) and Discord lovers there are.
