Isho: it wasn't before aug 30th but it was close enough. ive got some more plot ideas for this story, so i should be a bit more motivated now. enjoy.

The setting sun shines behind me as a breeze wisps around my face, flittering my hair underneath my cap. Yes, you guessed it, it was the end of the week and I was finally going home. Two days of freedom. No homework, no early mornings, and most importantly, no Dark.

My face reddens at the thought of my overly amorous roommate. After our argument, he certainly did back off. From the touching that is. He still said dirty things to me and even started to follow me around whenever he was free. I sigh and shake my head. At least he isn't going to rape me now. Baby steps I guess.

But that's not my problem for two days. I just want to go home, eat Mum's cooking, play some of my games, and sleep in my wonderful bed. My ears perk against my hat when I hear a familiar engine approach and I look up to see Mum's car drive through the gates and up to the front entrance where I'm standing. She gets out and, smiling, I run up to her and we share a big hug.

I nuzzle into her while inhaling her comforting scent before we let go and get back into the car and drive off.

"I know we talked a little on the phone, but how was school? Make any friends?"

I nod a bit. Our conversation a few days ago was brief. I only told her what my schedule was and that I had unpacked everything.

"School is fine I guess."

"Hard to get used to?"

"Yeah. But I did make some friends. But there's some things that freaked me out a bit."

She scrunches her face up a bit but keeps looking forward.

"Oh? What happened? You're not getting bullied are you?"

I shake my head.

"No, it's just my roommate. He seems to think I belong to him because of some fight."

Out of the corner of my eye I see my Mum tremble a little bit. Concerned, I turn to her and find out why. She was laughing. I frown.

"It's not funny!"

"Yes baby, it is. Ah, what should mama do? My boy is growing up!"

I scowl as she keeps laughing and just cross my arms, pouting out the window the rest of the way home.

It's Saturday and after breakfast, Mum went grocery shopping and I was just sitting on the couch watching TV. Not much was on except for some old cartoons, so I watched those while playing my ds. Out of the window I can see a few people walking by on the sidewalk, and even more cars driving by. Nothing remarkable, the weather was good, a few clouds.

I don't really have to worry about people seeing my ears while I'm in the house. They are usually too busy to notice, and even if they do, they just assume they're accessories. I just have to cover them up when I go out because I have a hard time keeping them still.

While there was a commercial break, something strange happened outside. Someone, a middle aged man from what it looked like, stopped in front of our house and just stared at the family name near the gate (like the one in the manga). I furrow my brow and scoot over so I'm not as easily seen.

He stares at the gate for a while, making me anxious, maybe I should go upstairs. Just as I'm about to get up, the man turns and walks away. I breathe a sigh of relief; that scared me. I get up and close the blinds just in case though, Mum should be home soon anyway.

It's Sunday and there still isn't much to do. I never realized how boring it could be now that I've got friends. Maybe I could go for a walk, that way I can keep my hat on the entire time without seeming weird. I get my hat and iPod and head towards the door.

"Mum! I'm going for a walk, I'll be back in 30 minuets!"

She calls back from the kitchen.

"Ok sweetie! Just be careful!"

"I will!"

I call back and head out the door, closing it behind me. Man, it's sure humid out today. And bright, man I really don't get out much. Instead of a kitsune, I'm more of a vampire. I walk past the gate and turn left towards the neighborhood park. I love the park here, lots of trees that mask the city smell and block out all the car noises. It reminds me of our old home in the countryside. I didn't have to hide as much out there, since hardly anyone came around. Mum didn't have to either, she could transform and go out and play in the fields with me, and sometimes she would go out hunting and we would have fresh meat to eat that night. I sigh and sit down on a park bench, looking out at the murky lake, watching the ducks and geese float by.

Mum's natural form is beautiful, she has such soft red fur, which is completely lost in her human form. Sure the still has red hair, like mine, but it's not quite the same colour. Maybe if my Dad weren't a human, we wouldn't need to hide like we do. Being a hanyou kitsune, I have almost no ability to transform. I'm stuck looking like this, the form I was born in, except for my tail, I can at least hide that without much difficulty. My ears are harder since I don't really know how to replicate a body part in another area that looks different to boot.

If my Dad weren't a human, Mum wouldn't have to leave him once she got pregnant either. I shake my head and get back up and start to walk on the trail again. Once I walk around the park once, I start to head back; my thirty minuets are almost up. I don't want Mum coming out to look for me.

see you next time
