Warning!

Unfortunately since I get writes block pretty often, this one is a short chapter because I wanted to update, but please read and review anyway!

[RIIIIIING]

The students of Gold Crown Academy jumped out of their seats at the sound of their school bell ringing. The day was finally done and the tired students were ready to return to their dorms to rest.

Duck sighed in annoyance as she realized she'd have to do the 2 papers in front of her for homework since she had been in deep thought the entire period. She quickly gathered her things, stuffed them into her bag, and exited the classroom to get into the hallway.

Unfortunately for her, the students were all crowded around something and all lines to move down the hallway had stopped. Duck glanced around for a space to fit through so she could get down the hallway, but the students were packed tightly together and already shoving each other to get a better look at what they were centered around.

Meanwhile, Rue, who was the one being surrounded by the hundreds of students who had had classes in that hall, tried to smile back calmly at the excited boys and girls who bombarded her with questions.

"You're one of the Ravenwings, right?"

"You're so pretty!"

"I hope you'll be in my class!"

"Will you be joining the drama club?"
"Are you a dancer?"
"You're definitely going to be in our school, right? I hope so!"

"It's a great school!"

"You'll have fun if you go to school here!"

Rue glanced around to see where the pure hearted swan had been amongst the enormous group of teenagers, but she could not find her. The sweet scent reached her nose once again and she went crazy in her head.

On the inside, she was screaming for these strange kids to get out of her way and desperately wanted to slap some of them, but her innocent image would have been ruined before her first day of school after she'd done a thing like that. Instead, she smiled on the outside and answered as many questions as she could.

I guess I have no choice..

Rue closed her eyes and outstretched her hands. The students gave shouts of surprise and stepped back as wind and black feathers circled quickly around her in a tornado like fashion. The black feathers covered her entire form completely, and when the last feather touched her skin, they pulled away from her and vanished in blinding flashes.

Rue, now dressed in black armor with giant black wings outstretched behind her, whirled around once, the quick spin creating some kind of shock wave that sent the students falling backward.

As she'd hoped, the ounce of magic she'd put into the shockwave caused them all to loose consciousness. A devilish grin spread across her beautiful, pale features as she whirled around to look at the surprised red head that was still standing.

Duck's body began to tremble in fear as she looked at the unconscious people lying on the ground.

She met Rue's blood red eyes through the female raven's dark black mask and hugged her bag tightly to her chest.

"W...What did... what did you... who.." Duck stammered as Rue stepped toward her.

Rue narrowed her eyes at Duck as she took a step toward her.

"They were so annoying... I had to get them out of my way, you know?"
Duck stepped backward as Rue approached, her big blue eyes wide in horror.

"Don't worry. They're not dead. Since they're asleep like this, I've finally gotten a chance to meet you... little Swan Princess."

"D-Don't come near me!"

Duck thought of what to use for defense. Her math textbooks would be enough to put the crazy cosplay girl out so she could run and call for help.

But before she could even reach inside her bag, a figure came bursting through the glass windows to Duck's right.

It was a woman with long, flowing pale green hair that was pulled into a braid down to her waist. She was dressed in silver armor with a long tasset that almost swept the ground. She sheathed her sword and backed up to shield Duck's body with hers.

"Filthy raven! Must you demons disturb the peace on such a beautiful day?!" the woman sounded annoyed.

"Why if it isn't Edel..." Rue glared through her mask. "I don't have time for you. I have a job to complete."

"You've taken many hearts in your lifetime already. Do not touch this Swan's pure heart!"

"Get out of the way, Edel!" Rue clenched her teeth and drew her own sword. Edel tossed her sword forward. It sliced through the fabric of Rue's black legging and pinned her leg to the ground. Rue tried to lift her leg and pulled and pulled, but it seemed to be useless.

While she was being distracted, Edel whirled around and quickly dropped 3 silver rings in Duck's hand.

"These belong to you and your friends," Edel told her, "Wear these at all times in order to protect the hearts of every being in this world from ravens like her."
"Um... but... what's going on...?" Duck frowned in confusion.

"There's no time to explain." Edel grabbed Duck's hand and sped down the hallway with her.

Rue muttered something under her breath as the fabric of her legging tore as she finally managed to get free.

Since you want to interfere, Edel... I'll make sure I get that heart of yours, too.

Rue clutched her sword and ran after them.

Short, yes, but at least it's an update. I've decided to try and make my story chapters a bit shorter so I can update faster...

The next chapter shall be posted sooooon, and with lots of action, hopefully.
