Chapter 12: Anubis part 2
The group was walking through the labyrinth still, they were keeping a close eye on Mitsuru to make sure nothing happened.
"So, feel any different?" Akihiko asked.
"Not really," Mitsuru answered.
"You sure? You don't feel more aggressive or more angry than usual?" Zen asked.
"I'm fine, don't worry too much, if something really was wrong, wouldn't I have done something to you all by now?"
"Fair point, although that could just be a lie for all we know," Shinjiro said.
"It's not, I promise, it isn't," Mitsuru said.
Mitsuru was telling the truth, although the others saw that she was sweating up a storm, she clutched the wrist with the hand she was using to hold the sword tightly, she seemed to be extremely focused and was rather quiet.
"We knew it, this sword is trying to take over your body! We have to leave it behind before anybody else gets hurt!" Rise said.
"No! We need this to find the stand user! I can handle it, trust me," Mitsuru said.
"Alright, but maybe we could all take turns holding the sword," Avdol suggested.
"N-no! I can't risk anyone getting hurt, lets just focus on getting back to the labyrinth as fast as possible, now please be quiet and leave me alone," Mitsuru said.
"No, I don't think it-"
"I said leave me alone!" Mitsuru said cutting Yu off.
"Alright... just please don't hurt yourself Mitsuru," Fuuka said.
The others left her alone reluctantly and they continued to walk.
"Zen, I'm scared, what if what happened to Junpei-kun happens to her?" Rei asked worried.
"I'm worried about the same thing, she seems focused on keeping this thing from taking over her body," Zen said.
"Yeah, she seems to be putting up a serious fight, I don't think she's gonna last the whole way back to the school if things keep going like this," Joseph said.
"Yeah, maybe we should knock her out while she has the sword," Polneraph said.
"No, we shouldn't do that, Mitsuru is a very vigilant person, if she sense any danger of any kind, she could let her guard down and the possessed sword would take over her body," Aigis said.
"That makes sense, but what should we do then?" Yosuke wondered.
"Just hope that Mitsuru can keep focus like this till we get back," Kakyoin said.
"Yeah, Kanji, Shinjiro and Akihiko, you three should watch Mitsuru closely and protect her in case something happens, got it?" Kakyoin asked.
They nodded and two of them got behind her and one was in front of her, as they walked through the labyrinth looking for the exit, they could see Mitsuru was having a harder and harder time trying to keep the thing trying to possess in check the longer they stayed in the labyrinth, after a while they managed to get to the 1st floor of the labyrinth, at this point, Mitsuru was clutching her wrist so tightly that you could see a bit of blood begin to soak into her shirt.
"Just hold on a little longer Mitsuru-senpai, we're almost there," Ken said.
"R-right," Mitsuru said.
"Lets hurry up," Yu said.
They tried to go faster, but before they could continue, a messenger of love shadow dropped in front of them.
"Aw man! Lets get this over with!" Yosuke said.
"Alright, you guys guard Mitsuru, make sure nothing happens to her," Jotaro said, gesturing towards Akihiko, shinjiro and Kanji.
They nodded and they began the fight, Avdol activated Magicians red and sent a stream of fire at it, the shadow was about to do a lightning smash attack at Avdol but Silver Chariot kicked the shadow to the side where Izanagi used the but of his sword to hit the shadow into Star Platinum who punched it hard and sent it crashing into the wall,Chie used Bufu to keep it attached to the wall and Zen shot it up with several arrows and then finished it off with a Hex slice attack, they thought it was dead, so as they were leaving, they didn't notice it get up, Mitsuru looked behind her and saw that it was coming straight for her, her eye's widened and it hit her in the back and sent her flying.
"Mitsuru!" Yukari yelled worried.
Ken used a Ziodyne and it disappeared, they all ran over to Mitsuru.
"Are you okay Mitsuru-senpai!?" Fuuka asked worried.
"Y-yes, somehow I managed to keep the sword from taking over me," Mitsuru said getting up.
They all gave Mitsuru confused look and some of them seemed suspicous of her now.
"Is this really you Mitsuru?" Zen asked.
"Of course it is, why would you doubt me?" Mitsuru asked.
"Because we're not idiots!" Kanji said.
"It's not possible for someone to get hit and sent tumbling like that and still manage to keep focus, especially after you were having such a hard time to keep this thing from taking over in the first place," Naoto said.
"I, uh... I-"
"Just quit the act already, you can't fool us," Jotaro said.
Mitsuru just stayed quiet before she began running, the all chased after her and tried to catch up to her, hoqever as they were running, she cut several heavy hanging dolls around them and after a moment, the group was suddenly seperated in half, with one group being Jotaro, Naoto, Zen, Rei, Teddy, Akihiko, Korumaru, Chie, Kakyoin, Polneraff and Yukari, the other group was Yu, Shinjiro, Iggy, Avdol, Joseph, Kanji, Junpei, Ken, Yukiko, Aigis, Akihiko and Minato.
"Are you guys okay!?" Fuuka asked concerned.
"Yeah, we are, what about you guys?" Minato asked.
"We're fine over here!" Akihiko said.
"Can we get through this?" Junpei asked.
"I think so, but it seems pretty thick! You guys go after Mitsuru! We'll be right there!" Yukari said.
Yu and Minato'a group nodded and they chased after Mitsuru, they saw her running down the labyrinth, she was headed for a cross-path, but before she could make it, Iggy shot out a gust of sand and blocked off the cross-path and Avdol used his fire to turn the sand into a thick glass wall, Mitsuru sighed and turned to the group, she had a dark aura around her, she had a pissed off look as she held the sword tightly and looked like she was ready to murder them.
"You shouldn't have done that," she said.
"This isn't good! You guys have to be careful!" Rise said.
She ran at them fast, Aigis shot at the sword but Anubis cut all the bullets in half and ducked under whatever she didn't cut and smoothly got up and continued to run, Minato activated Orpheus and slammed his harp down on Anubis trying to keep her in one place, but she jumped to the side and onto the wall and stabbed Orpheus's arm, jumped onto his back and propelled herself closer to them, Minato held his shoulder in pain, Yu activated Izanagi and he made him swing his giant sword at Anubis, they ended up in a sword fight, when they clashed sword sparks flew everywhere, Anubis knocked the sword to the side and Anubis ran strait at Izanagi so he blocked in response, but Anubis was still running at him causing sparks to fly and hit the roses causing them to go on fire and the fire quickly spread and grew to the large row of roses.
Anubis grabbed Izanagi by the arm and threw him into the fire, but managed to grab his large sword and stabbed him in the stomach, this caused Yu to scream in pain and hold his stomach in pain, he deactivated Izanagi, Kanji used a Zionga attack but Anubis dodged, she was about to hit him but weird purple and thorny vines wrapped around the sword, he tried to pull the sword out of her hands bit Anubis tightened her grip and tried to pull Joseph closer so she could kill him, but Iggy used fool to to push Anubis against the wall hard trying to knock her out, but it didn't work, but Anubis couldn't really move, she managed to get her arm free however but she now had her evoker and shot herself and activated Artemisia, she used Mabufula on them and they were all thrown back a few inches, she then used Bufula on the sand and then shattered it freeing her, Iggy kept throwing sand at her trying to hit her, however every time the sand got close to her, she froze it and shattered it and Anubis just walked straight for the group.
"Do you really think you could stop me? I'm stronger than all of you combined!" Anubis said.
"You say that now, but you'll slip up eventually! We know you will!" Yu said.
"Keep telling yourself that assholes, anyway let's keep fighting!"
Anubis sprinted at them at full force, she used a bufu to make a pedestal and used it to help her jump up high, she did a down stabbing motion towards Minato who used Orpheus to block it, Joseph used Hermit purple to grab Anubis and slammed her into the walls a few times and then into the floor, Anubis slowly got up and brushed dust off herself and popped a few cricks in her neck.
"Is that all you got? I've been hit by flowers harder than that!" Anubis said.
"How are you still conscious!?" Yukiko asked freaked out.
"Shut up you!"
"If you do not release Mitsuru at this very moment, I will be forced to get violent," Aigis said.
"Ha! Go ahead! Just be careful about killing this woman!" Anubis said.
"She's right, she might be evil but its still Mitsuru's body, we have to do this as carefully as possible, because if we go too hard on her, it might kill Mitsuru," Yu said.
"Yeah, the best thing we can do is get rid of that sword, its the only way to save her," Joseph said.
"Like I'm ever gonna let that happen you old jackass!" Anubis said.
Anubis ran to the glass and cut a hole big enough for them to fit through, they then begin running and the others follow after her, Yu, Kanji, Ken, Joseph, Aigis and Yukiko manage to get through before a several pillars decorated with hearts and streamers fell over blocking them off from the others.
"Guys!" Yu yelled.
"We'll be fine! Just go after her!" Shinjiro said.
They nod and run after her, meanwhile with the other group, they were still trying to get through to the others.
"Man, How much is blocking that path?" Yukari said.
"Don't know, feels like we've been here for hours now," Chie said.
"Maybe some of us should go back and look for them the long way back to the others," Kakyoin said.
"Seems like the only thing we could really do if we wanna stop them," Zen said.
"Yeah, so Jotaro, Korumaru, Zen, Rei, Yukari and Naoto, you guys go look for the others, the rest of us will stay here and try to destroy this thing," Akihiko said.
They nod and run off to go find the others, as they walked, they felt as though someone was watching them, Zen heard something behind them and he did a quick turn and shot his arrow into a dark hall, there was a bit of silance before the same arrow rolled back into the light, Zen stared down into the darkness before a sword suddenly came flying at them, Zen pulled Rei down and the sword stabbed into the wall, Zen was about to destroy it but Artemisia froze Zens hand to the wall and Anubis ran over and grabbed her sword, she was about to stab them but Zen blocked with his crossbow and shot an arrow into Anubis's shoulder, she recoiled and held her bleeding shoulder.
"Damn you!" Anubis said.
She was about to stab him but Star Platinum grabbed the blade of the sword, he was about to snap it in half but Artemisia used Bufu causing Start Platinum to recoil, Anubis sliced Star Platinums chest, causing a large slash mark to appear on Jotaro's chest and blood to spurt out, he almost fell over but managed to stay up, he had star platinum grab two chairs and he slammed them into Artemisia's head and then slammed the other one on top of her slamming her into the table they were at destroying it, he then used them slammed the broken legs into her, Kakyoin then used an Emerald splash on Anubis while she was distracted with Jotaro, he unraveled Hierophant Greens body and wrapped around Anubis and squeezed her tightly.
"If you don't let go of Mitsuru right now, we'll have to force you to," Kakyoin said.
"Nng! W-well! I didn't expect something like this to happen! but you should really look at your surroundings more!" Anubis said.
"And why is that?" Kakyoin said.
Anubis smiled and chuckled, Kakyoin felt as though something was behind him, he turned around and saw Star Platinum about to hit him, he was hit hard and Heirophant Green dissapeared letting Anubis go.
"This move Marin karin comes in handy quite a bit when your opponent isn't paying enough attention!" Anubis said with an evil smile.
Jotaro looked like he was in physical pain as he tried to hold himself back from attacking them, they had to act quickly or else they were goners! Yukari activated Isis and used Garu on Anubis who swiftly dodged andtried to stab her, but Naoto used Sakuna to block her off, she shot her with her fake pistol, she hit Anubis's cheek and a visible bruise appeared, Anubis attacked Naoto and managed to fight her off, withe the others, they were fighting off Jotaro trying to knock him out, Zen shot several arrows at him but Star Platinum caight them and broke them, Kakyoin then used an emerald splash on him going around in a circle trying to hit him but Star platinum blocked it, but Star platinum actually managed to grab a few emeralds and crushed them into small, sharp pieces and threw them all around him at the others, causing them to get small cuts on their cheeks, arms and legs, along with a few other areas.
"Keep fighting back Jotaro! We'll try to knock you uncountous so you don't hurt anyone!" Yukari said.
Jotaro just nodded lightly and they continued to try and knock him out, Yukari used Isis and uaed Garu on Jotaro sending him up into the air, Zen was about to attack him but Star Platinum grabbed him by the throat and slammed him into the wall then the floor, Rei ran over and healed him of course and healed the others quickly, Kakyoin shot an emerald splash at him going all around him but Star platinum blocked them and even grabbed a few emeralds, crushing them into small sharp pieces and then throwing them all around him at the others, they blocked the shards from getting into their eyes but ended up cutting their arms, legs, torso's and faces a little, Star platinum went to punch Isis only for Korumaru to block it and push him away, Korumaru then had Cerberus grab Jotaro using his mouth and hold him down in place and Rei gave Jotaro the cure for marin karin, Korumaru let Jotaro go and Jotaro stood up out of breath.
"Are you okay Jotaro?" Rei asked worried.
"Yeah, don't worry," Jotaro said.
Jotaro suddenly had Star platinum hit Artemisia so hard it sent her strait into the wall, everyone walked over to her only for her to use bufu and freeze the hole she made in the wall where the only people to make it through were Zen, Rei and Jotaro, they then chased after Anubis as the others watched them run away, meanwhile with the other group, they were walking down the path looking for Anubis, nobody really tried to talk, they were being as silent as possible so they could hear if Anubis is near.
"Where could she be?" Ken wondered.
"I don't know, she could be anywhere at this point," Yu said.
"Even back where Fuuka and Rise are?" Aigis asked.
"Sadly, yeah."
"I hope not... I don't want either of them to be hurt..." Ken said.
"Your not alone Ken, so we have to find her as soon as possible so we can stop her," Yukiko said.
"Shut up guys!" Kanji said.
"Right, sorry."
They all walked through the labyrinth, suddenly a wall was destroyed sending lots of rubble their way, they blocked it from their faces and Yukiko was stabbed in the shoulder, she screaned in pain and Joseph used Hermit purple to try and grab Anubis who pulled the sword out And slashed at the stand cutting them, Josephs arm burst with blood a bit and he held his arm in pain, Kanji ran at her and tried to hit her with his chair but Anubis moved out of the way and hit Kanji hard with the sword handle knocking him uncouncious, Aigis shot at the sword but Anubis just activated Artemisia and blocked the bullets with her, she them had the persona use bufula on Aigis's hands and then shattered them to pieces, Aigis's eyes widened in shock but Anubis took this as an oppertunity and kicked Aigis hard and sent her crashing into the wall, Yu then activated Izanagi slashed at Anubis who blocked and then kicked him hard onto the ground, Anubis began to slash at Yu like crazy, Yu was trying to block her and tried to keep up with her moves, soon Anubis managed to knock the sword out of his hand, Yu's eyes widened and before he could grab his sword again, Anubis knocked his sword away and looked down at him with a malicious grin.
"No! Senpai!" Rise yelled scared.
Anubis raised her sword up high and was about to kill him, but she saw someone in the corner of her eye coming over, they swung their weapon and before they could hit her, she did a quick turn and blocked to see her attacker was Ken who's eyes widened when she blocked.
"Did you really think you could pull that off twice?" Anubis asked.
"I-I, uh-"
Ken couldn't finish before Anubis just pushed him to the ground before turning back to Yu.
"Just leave me to my business you weak child, if you want to survive, then I suggest you run off," Anubis said.
"N-no! I can't let you do that! Their my friends!" Ken said, standing his ground holding his spear tightly.
"Fine, have it your way," Anubis said.
Anubis just walked over and swung her sword at Ken, Ken was blocking her attacks while trying to hit her with his own attacks, Anubis was just lazily swingong their sword, putting little to no effert in the fight, Ken seeing this ran back a little trying to create a little distance between them before he pulled his Evoker out and activated his persona, Kala-Nemi and he used Zionga on her, Anubis moves out of the way and slashed at Kala who moved out of the way and used another Zionga, Anubis moved again and Ken ran over and slashed his spear at her and actually managed to cut her cheek, Anubis wiped the blood of her cheek and looked at her now blood covered fingers, Ken was expecting her to try and kill him now, but instead she just laughed and looked at Ken.
"So, that's how you wanna play it huh? Alright," Anubis said.
Anubis began to rapidly slash her sword at Ken who began backing up, trying to dodge her moves, he kept moving till he was backed up against the wall, Anubis was about to strike but Ken managed to dodge this but she had cut his arm a little deep causing blood to go down his sleeve, he held his arm and moved to his friends trying to shield them from Anubis, who was just walking slowly towards them, she had a creepy grin as she looked down at Ken, Ken tried to hide his fear with anger, Anubis stood in front of him and chuckled.
"Should've left when you had the chance," Anubis said.
She stabbed her sword down fast and stabbed Kens leg, he screamed at this as he felt a rush of pain and adrenaline, his hand was shaking violently now as he looked up at Anubis in fear, Anubis raised her sword up fast again and plunged it down, but before she could stab him, Kanji rammed into her hard sending her crashing into the wall, he immediatelly tackled her and began to rapidly punch her hard, after a few punches Anubis kicked him hard in the gut and pushed him on his back, she ran off through the hole as fast as she could leaving them behind, Kanji ran over to Ken and checked on him.
"A-are you okay Kanji?"Ken asked.
"It doesn't matter how I feel right now! Lets just get you out of here now!" Kanji said as he tried to put Ken on his back.
Suddenly their wounds were healed and they turned to see Yukiko holding her shoulder tightly.
"Y-you guys have to go stop her... now..." Yukiko said.
She almost fell uncountous but Joseph managed to keep her up and awake.
"You guys have to go after her on your own now, I'll take Yukiko back to the infurmory to get healed," Joseph said.
Ken and Kanji nodded before running off to go after Anubis, meanwhile back with Jotaro, Zen and Rei, they were looking all around for Anubis.
"I-I'm scared Zen... what if Mitsuru-san is gone forever?" Rei said holding Zen's arm tightly.
"It'll be okay Rey, I'm sure she'll be alright," Zen said.
"I hope so..."
Jotaro stopped at the entrance of a series of crosspaths that circled around a kinda spacious room, he activated Star Platinum, he glanced at Zen and he could tell what Jotaro ment, he put Rei behind him and readied his crossbow, they stood there waiting in silance for a few seconds before they turned the corner and were just about to attack, but when they did, it turned out to just be Ken and Kanji who also had their weapons out as well, they all sighed in relief and put their weapons down.
"Its just you guys, thank goodness," Zen said.
"You guys okay?" Ken asked.
"Yeah, don't worry, what about you guys? Are you okay?" Rei asked.
"Yeah, we're fine," Kanji said.
"Where are the others?" Jotaro asked.
"We either got seperated from them or got injured and had to turn back to head back to the Infurmury, what about you guys? Same story?" Ken asked.
"Yeah, basically."
"What should we do now?" Rei asked.
"What we've been doing, cintinue to look for Anubis and get Mitsuru back," Jotaro said.
They all agreed, but before they could go, the many different crosspaths were suddenly blocked off one by one, on the last one, Anubis walked in and stood in front of them.
"Well, are you all ready for your demise?" Anubis asked.
"Be quiet! If you don't let Mitsuru go right now! We'll have to force her out of you!" Ken said.
"Fine, have it your way," Anubis said.
Anubis activated Artemisia and used Bufu on them, they managed to dodge, Ice was now covering a majority of the ground and it made kind of a mountain of ice and snow, Zen shot an arrow at the sword but anubis sliced it clean in half, Jotaro made Star Platinum attack her by punching her, but Anubis dodged and slashed his arm, causing a big cut to appear on Josephs arm, Kanji activated Take-Mikazuchi and had him use Zionga on anubis who created a wall of ice to shield herself and then had that wall explosde in his face and then she rapidly attacked him relentlessly, Zen then used Hex slice but missed again, things seemed to continue like this with Anubis dodging all their attacks almost effertlessly, after a few minutes, Anubis stood in front of them.
"Are you all done yet? This whole fight is very boring to sit through for me," Anubis said.
"Never, we can't give up, not while your still in control of Mitsuru's body," Zen said.
"Yeah! We don't know who the hell you are thinking you can just curse a weapon and control our friend like this, but we're not stopping till we find where your hiding and kick your ass!" Kanji said.
"Geez, you still haven't figured it out yet? Your all stupider than I thought," Anubis said, dissapointed.
"W-what do you mean?" Rei asked.
"The stand user didnt curse the sword! There is no stand user! The sword a stand anyone can take control of and wield, all it costs is letting the stand take control of your body and giving up your free will, doesn't sound like a bad deal to me."
"W-what!?"
"So what your saying is that a stand user didn't curse a sword? Its just you?" Ken asked.
"Pretty much, but lets just wrap this up fast, this fight is boring right now and I want to go find the rest of your friends and finish them off," Anubis said.
"Like hell we're gonna let that happen!" Kanji said.
"Yarde yarde daze, lets just end this already, this stand is starting to seriously piss me off," Jotaro said.
"Fine, have it your way," Anubis said.
She dashed at them, she used one of the things of ice to jump high into the air, she went for Jotaro who when inches away from him, managed to grab the sword and was holding it in place, however before he could break it, Artemisia use bufu to freeze Jotaro's body causing his stand to stop moving, before Anubis could kill him however, Zen used a bane slice on her and then kicked her into the wall, Anubis just kicked him back and cut his waist and chest.
"ZEN!" Rei yelled scared now and running to his side.
Kanji ran at Anubis and activated Take-Mikazuchi, he used a Zionga on Anubis but she dodged and Kanji took this and hit her with his chair, Anubis then did a quick turn and slashed at him, but Kanji blocked and had his persona hit Anubis hard into the wall, she recovered and cut a few chunks of ice and hit them strait at Kanji, he managed to dodge one of them but not the last one and ended up on the ground half counciousness, Anubis then turned to Ken who looked at her in fear.
"Well, looks like its just you and me you little bastard, if you want your death to be fast and painless, I would suggest not putting up a fight," Anubis said.
"N-no! I-I'm not gonna just give up like a coward! Forget how scared I am! I want me and my friends to live!" Ken said.
"Slow and painful death it is then! Always been a favorite for me to do!" Anubis said.
Anubis dashed at Ken and stabbed at his head, Ken dodged at the last second and hit her with his spear, when Anubis pulled her spear out of the wall and slashed at Ken, Ken started to run to the other side of the room and activated Kala-Nemi and used Zionga, Anubis dodged and jumped on the wall and propelled herself at Ken fast, she activated Artemisia and used bufu, Ken dodged and then used Hamaon but it didn't work, Ken then used pierce attack and managed to hit her shoulder, Anubis rubbed it and then made Artemisia use mind charge on her, she had an evil smile that sent a shiver down Kens back, his eyes widened when he realiser what she was doing, before he could react she used Magidolaon, things went white for a moment, when things went back to normal, Ken felt his body was now in massive pain, he was sitting against the wall right now, when looking around, he saw all his friends were either struggling to stay awake, Ken looked down at his body and saw that he was bleeding from various places and it was hard for him to see properly.
"Ken! Are you okay!?" Rise asked worried.
"N-not... really..." Ken said.
"Geez, your basically a cockroach arent you? Your all so relentless in dying, whatever, lets just finish this already," Anubis said.
Anubis ran and jumped up high into the air, and lunged at Ken, time felt like it slowed down as Ken looked over and saw his spear, he began to reach over for it, he reached for it and managed to just barely grab it, he immediatelly trying to swing it, Ken closed his eye, and hear a loud grunt inches from him, he opened his eyes and saw that the sword was stabbed into the wall inches from his face, but when he looked at Anubis, his eyes widened in fear and shock when he saw that he stabbed her strait through the abdomen, the spears end came out through her back and blood was leaking out of her mouth.
"w...what..?" Anubis said with wide eyes.
The sword fell out of her hand and Mitsuru fell uncouncious, Ken pulled the the spear out as he tried to stop the bleeding, soon everyone else were able to get up, Jotaro destroyed the sword and then they all went to Mitsuru.
"Is Mitsuru-san okay!?" Rei asked.
"I-I don't know! She's bleeding out fast!" Ken said as tears poured down his face.
"Here, let me heal her."
Rei healed Mitsuru but she didn't wake up, no matter what they did, she didn't wake up.
"Y-you don't think she's..." Kanji said but couldn't finish.
Zen felt for a heart beat and listened for breathing and after a moment sat back up and answered.
"She's still alive, we should get her back to the infurmory," Zen said.
They nod and Rei heals them all too quickly before Jotaro put Mitsuru on his back and they left, Rise and Fuuka told the others qhat happened and they all met up in the infurmory to get bandaged up, right now, Elizabeth was checking Mitsuru for what was wrong, Ken looked worried and guilty as he sat on his bed.
"I can't believe it... I stabbed Mitsuru... this is all my fault..." Ken said.
"No it isn't Ken, you didn't mean to do it," Fuuka said.
"Yeah, it's okay, you don't have to worry," Rise said.
"But she would still be okay if it wasn't for me, she would still be awake," Ken said.
"I'm not quite sure about that," Elizabeth said.
"Huh?" Ken said.
