01 — Letters to No One

Dear Hermione,

How has summer been to you? After our adventure, everything here seems to be dull. I even finished homework in three days, can you imagine? Binns' essay was kind of fun to write actually – but don't tell the boys, they will laugh at me if they find out.

I have been meaning to ask Ron if his offer about staying at his home still stands. I'm not completely sure though, I don't wish to impose. And I'm still a bit mad with the twins about the pranks they pulled on me, so... I'm not getting my hopes up either. There's still Mrs. Darcy, too – I don't think she'll let me go, either.

You're the first I'm writing to, consider yourself honored. Look – I even drew you a House Cup!

Write me soon,
Anya.

PS. I'm bored. (Cue in sad face)

Dear Harry,

Have you scared your cousin yet? Haha, I'm not serious. But out of curiosity, have you? Does he still have that pig tail you told me about?

Compared to Hogwarts, St. Louise's is nothing but quiet as a tomb. I'm even missing Peeves – and you know how much I can't stand him. I sort of wish Snape would come around and do his undoings, too (but I'm not that desperate yet. Wait for three more weeks).

Write soon,

Anya.

(At the corner of the page, there was a doodle of Snape with exaggerated eyebrows, overgrown fangs, and too large shoelaces)

Ron,

I received your invitation. I'm also pretty sure your owl is about to drop dead any second – I mean, do you even feed the poor thing? He seems older than Otto, and you know that school owl's probably older than the two of our ages put together.

How has your summer been? I hope you spent it swell, and that your brothers haven't been bothering you (you know whom I'm talking about).

Hey, has Harry replied to you? It's been already a week and he hasn't replied at all. I have the theory that his relatives aren't letting him answer, but Hermione said that I was being ridiculous.

Either way, I would like to investigate that. God, I am sounding like her, aren't I?

About your invitation to the Burrow, I am still not sure. But I'll inform you anyways.

See you soon,
Anya.

Dear Anya,

Happy birthday! It's been two weeks since we last saw each other and you're already twelve years old. Amazing, isn't it?

I hope today all of your wishes come true. I know you don't like to hear cheesy things like that, but I mean it. I didn't know what to get you, so I decided to order a special drawing kit I saw on a catalogue from Diagon Alley. At first, I was going to give you a book from this new writer, but I began to read it myself and I just couldn't stop! All the things he has done are really extraordinary!

I hope you forgive me for that.

With loads of love,
Hermione.

Dear Anne,

Blimey! I forgot that you were a month older than Harry. Speaking of him, has he written to you? Hermione says she hasn't received anything from him either. I asked Mum if we could visit him, but she said it was going to be awkward since his family is Muggle.

Happy birthday, by the way! You already realize it, but the cake was obviously from my Mum. My little sister, Ginny, was the one who knitted the gloves for you. She thought it would be nice for you to get – how did she call it again? – a girly thing.

Don't worry about not coming home. The offer's still open.

Ron.

Dear Harry,

It's kind of stupid of me to write to you, knowing that you'll probably not answer back. I was hoping it was your Aunt's and Uncle's fault, that maybe they have seized your mail somehow. But it's been too long – I have run out of theories.

My birthday just passed two weeks ago and I know yours is going to be in a few days. I would like to give you a present but I can't. Mrs. Darcy hasn't let me out of her sight and I can't go anywhere; not even the bathroom is safe right now.

Like I wrote to you, this seems rather useless.

Still hoping,
Anya.

Dear Harry,

I did something bad.

Dear Harry,

I'm scared.
