Sakura Haruno was no fool. She was a pure blood of the Haruno family and the heiress. So no, she wasn't a fool. She couldn't be even if she wanted to. She had seen too many things, done too many things; hurt too many people. A fool was unwise and unknowing, things she was not. Things she forced herself to never be. Why? Because fools are the ones that died first.
Take for instance Haruka and Juri Kuran. Two of the few remaining pureblood family, now dead. Why were they fools? Because they refused to see that their older brother was an insolence. A nuisance to the vampire community. Had they done what Sakura suggested and killed him early on then they would have been standing next to her and not beneath her, in coffins no less.
They were good people, caring parents and a light in the dark world they were born into. Sakura would be lying if she didn't feel a small ache in her dead heart when she looked at their tomb stones. After all, they were still her friends even if Sakura claimed to not care for them.
"Maybe in the next lifetime, you two will finally get to see that future you had, all the way through." Sakura's soft voice rang down at the two tomb stones that held the name of her friends.
Her pastel pink locks were placed into a neatly done half up, half down style. Her locks were gently curled and fell down her back in waves. Her skin was as pale as the moon that shone. Eyes the color of the emerald jewels she wore on her wrist. Her small frame was covered by a very lolita like dress that billowed around her knees. White in color with red bows and red lace and ribbons. White stockings rode up her legs with red heels that made her short frame appear taller.
Her pink lashes kissed her cheeks as she blinked back the single tear that wanted so badly to be shed.
"Only fools cry. I thought I made sure to engrave that into you, Sakura."
Sakura dared not to look at the man that spoke to her. His voice was deep, dark and promised pain to all, "Do you torment them even though they are already gone, Kuran?"
His dark chuckle filled the night air as he stood next to the heiress, "Why do you care? They were fools that paid for their actions. Now, get up. We have business to attend to."
Sakura turned her piercing eyes to the man next to her. There he stood in all his glory, Rido Kuran. The killer of Haruka and Juri Kuran, and their oldest son Kaname Kuran. He wore a black coat, no shirt under and black pants. His eyes the color of crimson and cobalt, and his hair a wine red as well.
Sakura looked him up and down, not a thing had changed about him since that night, "Do not order me around like some lap dog, Kuran."
"You say that now but you'll come begging my way when time calls for it." Rido smirked at her unmoving face. Oh, how she looked in all her beautiful self. Such an aura of power around her, he was just going to love peeling it down bit by bit. She may have been the one wearing the crown now, but he'd take it back from her in no time.
"I could never beg to a man that kills his own family," Sakura spoke out to him, "You'll face the music soon enough, Rido. And when you do, you will fall. Don't think you'll ever get the crown back. It belongs to me now."
The pink haired vampiress didn't even bother to look at the disgraceful man as she made her way back to her home. She was no fool, she knew better than to involve herself with Rido again.
Maybe in another lifetime they could have lived their own future she envisioned. Where Rido and Haruka were out back teaching Kaname how to fight and defend. Where Juri and Sakura would have been sitting in the living room taking care of Juri's new born, Yuki. And when the time called for it, Haruka would be walking Yuki down the aisle and Sakura would be sitting in the front room with Rido next to her and a new born daughter in her arms.
But that was just wishful thinking, back when Rido was still sane and saw Sakura for herself and not a replacement for Juri.
Taking one last look at what she was leaving behind, Sakura stepped into the carriage and not once did she let that tear shed until she was safely in the carriage. After all only fools cried, and she had been a fool for Rido Kuran.
