a/n: to any and all guest who commented on the issue with the whole RidoxSakura thing, I'll be honest I didn't read the request thoroughly and I'll take fault for that. I apologize for that, but my statement about how some request may not be heard and written will remain. I don't have as much time as I did before to write as much as before. I'm sorry if you don't like that but that's just how it is. Some do request the same as others, so if there's already a one-shot with that character I most likely won't make another one. But with the whole Rido thing, I'll make another one but I can't promise it'll come out anytime soon but I do feel bad but I won't delete the original cause I personally like it.

She was known as the Captain's Princess. Bright petal pink hair, gleaming jade eyes, creamy milk skin and a body to die over. Nobody could miss her, if it wasn't for her pink hair then maybe the crew of men around her was also a dead give away.

Everywhere she went, they were right behind her. She found it annoying no doubt but it was always out of the goodness of their hearts, so she couldn't stay mad for long. They were a bunch of goof balls that somehow became a very feared crew. Everyone in every corner of the seas knew their names, after all they were at one point part of the deceased Gol D. Roger's crew. But every crew breaks apart at some point in time.

"You know, Shanks, we all have to leave eventually..." She spoke out in a hoarse voice, after endless hours of crying she had finally gather the courage to speak. Her eyes were no longer that jade color but a murky poison ivy and red from the tears. Her hair was damp and tangled from the rain and her clothes soaked as well. The only thing keeping her from freezing to death was the coat of her dead captain. The only thing she was able to grab before they took everything.

"...I..I couldn't save him. I couldn't save the person that saved me...what kind of subordinate am I if I can't even save the captain.." Shanks willowed in empty rage. "If only I had been there..if only I had ran faster to him, to warn him that they were coming for him...and yet I couldn't...why do I always have to be the weakest one, the one that get everyone killed..it should've been me on the stand and not him, anyone but him… Just go Sakura, you don't need to see me like this. I'm truly pathetic."

She looked down at his slouched form that sat on the barrel. The clouds were gathering around for another shower, this time it was followed by the sound of the thunder. A flash went by allowing Sakura to see the tears flowing down the once happy and energetic Red Haired Shanks.

She stood above him and slowing slid down to her knees, she slowly cupped both of his cheeks and raised his head to where his eyes met hers. His eyes were dead. More dead than the actual dead. Slowly, ever so slowly, Sakura leaned in and kissed his forehead, "You're not pathetic. No one could have saved Captain, he knew this was coming and that's why he sent us away before we could stop it. Stop blaming yourself, Shanks. You're not weak, you're anything but that. You're the strongest person I know, you were the first person to get to him when he was capture, you fought the hardest to set him free-"

"BUT I COULDN'T SAVE HIM! I LET HIM DIE!" Shanks ripped himself away from the pink haired woman and stood up. No matter what she said it didn't change that the captain was dead and he couldn't stop it.

"Stop blaming yourself, Shanks! No one could have saved him! Get that through your thick skull! You weren't the only one that lost him, everyone else did too! YOU GUYS LOST A CAPTAIN TODAY BUT I LOST MY FATHER! I'M HIS DAUGHTER AND YET I COULDN'T DO SHIT TO SAVE HIM! DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW THAT FEELS SHANKS! DO YOU?! I HAD TO WATCH MY FATHER BE EXECUTED RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! SO DON'T YOU DARE FEEL SORRY FOR YOURSELF, YOU BASTARD!" Sakura screamed at Shanks face. She had gotten up and forced his face to face her. Their noses barely touching and eyes glaring at each in pain and rage.

"Sak-!"

"Shut up Shanks! You're right, you are weak and pathetic AND you were the one who killed my father not the marines, it was you! Because YOU couldn't get there in time, my dad is dead! IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR SHANKS?!"

"..."

He stood there in shock, not knowing what to respond back to the spitfire woman infront of him. She was nearly a foot shorter than him yet she had forced him to be face to face with her. Her eyes a burning emerald with redness still there from the tears she had shed for her father.

They stood there staring at eachother with the rain pouring and the thunder roaring, nothing was spoken between them for what seemed like hours as the rain fell down.

"I'm sorry Sakura, I-"

"Save it Shanks. It's no one's fault that my father died but his own. He knew what kind of life he was getting himself into, he knew he would die like this one day. We have to accept that he's gone and it's no one's fault, Shanks. Not yours', not mine, not even the government. Shanks he loved you and everyone else like family and he would never want to see you like this ever." Sakura placed her forehead on his chest and leaned against it.

Shanks gently warped his arms around her and placed his head on top of hers, "I know that, Sakura, I know, but I'm just so mad! He was the only father figure I had, the only reason why I'm alive, why I am still alive."

"Then live for me," Sakura boldly stated as she pushed his chest so she could look up at his face. Black wide eyes met her serious emerald orbs, "If you lived for my father then live for me. I'm sure Captain won't mind if it's you." The petal haired girl even managed to sneak in a small smile.

"I'll live for you then." Shanks grinned out as he looked down at her. Over them a the clouds separated to reveal the most beautiful rainbow they had ever seen.
