New Years was approaching fast and that meant that another year had gone by without Sakura telling Toshiro about her feelings towards the white hair male.

The pinkette sighed into her cup of tea as she half-listened to Rangiku's complaining. Every once in awhile she would nod her head or make a sound to show that she was still listening to the woman's complaint.

"...and he had the balls to blame me of all people! Me!"

Sakura sighed for the hundredth time that day, "How do you get someone to like you, Rangiku?"

This caught the woman by surprised, "What do you mean?"

Sakura turned to look the woman in the eyes, "I want to tell Toshi how I feel before the year is over. I've been waiting for years to find the perfect time to tell him and I'm over waiting. But I'm scared that he'll reject me."

Rangiku looked down at the blushing pinkette before she broke into a grin, "Oh, Sakura you sweet poor thing! I thought you already knew how the captain felt about you!"

Sakura's emerald eyes widen, "What are you talking about?!"

Rangiku's laughter died down as she wiped a tear from her eyes, "Captain's been crushing on you for years now! Wow you're both pretty dense!"

Sakura opened and closed her mouth, trying to find something to say to defend herself against Rangiku's claims but nothing came out of her mouth, leaving her to glare at the older female.

"Just what are you two doing in my office?"

The two females looked at the door to find the person they had just been talking about looking at them with tired eyes. Rangiku looked over to her captain with mischief in her eyes, "Sakura was just telling me about her crush on-"

"On Ichigo!"

Both of the members of Squad 10 looked at Sakura with bulging eyes. Sakura pulled on a forced smile and laugh, "Yup, that's right I have a crush on Ichigo. Now if you'll excuse me."

Sakura quickly got up and made her way out of the room. She would have to wait til later to kill Rangiku for nearly telling Toshi about her crush on him. But she would have to get ahold of Ichigo first because apparently she had a crush on the boy now.

Sakura made it her job to avoid the squad 10 captain as much as she could. There was no way she could confess to him now, especially now that he knew she had a 'crush' on Ichigo.

It was just her luck that Ichigo would show up to the New Year's party in the Soul Society making Sakura dread going. Even though she had explained what had happened to him, it didn't make the whole thing any better, as long as Toshi knew then everything just went down the drain.

So deep into her thought that the pink haired woman had accidently bumped into the one person she didn't want to see right now, "Toshi!"

The white-haired captain looked down at the girl with narrowed eyes, "Why do you keep avoiding me, Sakura."

There he went again with his 'no-nonsense' captain voice that he used when he wanted answers. The surprisingly much shorter female soul reaper began to open and close her mouth, search for an answer, "You see, Toshi. I - huh...um…"

"Spit it out now. Is it because of Ichigo? Did you tell him how you felt and he denied you? Well, did he?" Toshiro peered down at her with his intense aqua eyes. For just a moment Sakura lost herself in them, his eyes resembled the ocean when it met the moon for the briefest of moments.

"You think so?" Toshiro raised his brows at the woman.

Oh no, oh no, oh no! She had just said that out loud! The chances of him ever liking her back was probably in the negatives now! Sakura buried her redend face in her hands and began to shake her head, "Why am I always messing these types of things up?"

Now to Toshiro it sounded more like muffles but he knew just what to respond to his long-time crush, after all he had been reciting it in his mind for months now, "Hey, Sakura,"

Her watery emerald eyes looked up at him, "Yeah?"

"I like you- no I think I actually love you."

Her eyes went wide and her hand flew to her mouth to cover whatever weird scream that would probably come out.

Toshiro stood there looking at her, waiting for her answer for what seemed like years until suddenly Sakura jumped onto the Squad 10 captain and grab his face into her hands and placed the first of many, many kisses on his oh so soft lips.
