60th Bite Part II

"Bonnie! I know how to get us all out of here! I cant do that if Im dead!" Kai shouted over the flames. Although dying in the hell made specially for him wasn't his biggest concern besides the pain. He wouldn't tell that to her though.

Bonnie caught his words. His clothes caught fire. Damon came up from behind her. "What should we do?" He asked and Bonnie hadn't responded. He watched Kai flail about as the flames made contact with his skin. Bonnie clenched her fist, the flames got hotter and hotter until Kai sunk into his own ashes as he screamed death.

Bonnie was shaking. Her magic finally ran freely through her veins. She felt more powerful than ever.

Damon watched the smoking ashes for a minute before turning to Bonnie. Her expression blank. He put his arm around her shoulder and quietly walked her back to the mansion.

As the got in the front door, Damon decided to be the one to speak first. "You saved me back there... so thanks."

She hadn't turned around to look at him. "I almost lost you today."

"Really? I didn't get that feeling at all," he grinned. "I like to think I can only be done it by a tiny Bennett witch after stepping on her last nerve."

She laughed, then she cried. "I would never..."

Damon rushed to hug her, lifting her right off of her feet in a tight embrace. "Don't day that, Bon, I'm a awful guy after all. What are you getting soft for?"

Still crying, Bonnie . "I'm not soft." She didn't complain when Damon started to move. Her legs naturally tightened at his side for leverage.

"Yeah you are, the softest." And the smallest but Damon knew not to step onto that landline, he'll never hear the end of it.

In the upstairs bedroom that Bonnie reluctantly allowed Damon to also sleep in, Damon put her to bed. Bonnie though, hadn't let go of him.

"Bonnie?"

"What if there are others? What if they try to hurt us too?"

"Then we'll take care of it. I won't let my guard down Bonnie, I promise." He unwrapped her from his body. He just really wanted to see her face.

"Neither will I.." she said, her eyes ablaze with determination. Damon was glad witches didn't have superior hearing. His heart definitely skipped a beat.

"Let me feed, killing people really wears me out," Damon whispered and eased all on his weight on top of her. Bonnie found it oddly comforting despite knowing Damon wasn't hungry at all. So why did he feed anyway? Bonnie wasn't sure.

Damon drank from her neck, the taste of her blood zinged now that her magic was back. The flavor, as perfect as already was, was finally full bodied and at its absolute best. Damon got a mouthful before swallowing.

The room fell silent once again. It took Damon a moment to notice Bonnie absentmindedly stroking his back. He was afraid to move, he didn't want her to stop.

"I don't know what I would have done alone..." Bonnie confessed, her voice lower than a whisper.

"You don't have to think of that."

"I do though. At every corner there's some new danger... what if my magic didn't come back in time?"

"Yeah? Well, what if I'm actually an alien lizard trapped in the body of a handsome vampire?"

Bonnie chuckled, Damon felt her vibrate underneath him. He adjusted. His leg slipping in between hers. His face pressed against her neck.

"Damon?"

"Hmm?"

"Once we're out of here..." Bonnie lost her voice. They would have to go back eventually and then she'll be left with all of these unfamiliar feelings.

"Once we're out of here what?" Damon day up a bit to see her face.

She shrugged. "Once we're out of here we can forget all of this ever happened."

"You wouldn't want to remember this grand adventure?"

Damon's eyes widened. Bonnie looked solemn. What happened?

Don't do it Bonnie. Don't regret this.

"I just my old normal back."

"Normal? Aren't you too extraordinary for that?" Damon said easily. He touched her cheek and sighed when Bonnie closed her eyes and nestled into his palm.

It was tangible now. Eventually, Bonnie will figure out how to get them out of there. The normal they've settled on here in the other world will disappear. They hoped they'd be ready for it.

Hello!

While I considered letting this go , its been so long after all, it turns out that I still had a lot of passion for this story. I fully intend to finish all of my Bamon works.
