Businessman Snart x Coroner Lance

"Wasn't that Leonard Snart baby girl?" Quentin lance asked as he approached his youngest daughter. His eldest daughter Laurel was by his side.

"Yes, he just wanted to thank me in person." she told him, taking a drink from her wine glass.

"Well that was nice of him." he replied and Laurel looked at her sister suspiciously.

"Really? And he didn't mention the fact that you never called him to set up the date he asked you out on?"

"He didn't ask me out on a date." Sara defended, ignoring her father's curious expression. "He implied that flowers didn't seem like enough to thank me for saving his life and that Coffee may be a better option and oh my god he asked me out."

Laurel smiled ruefully. "I worry about you sometimes. Ever since you went away to college you've been completely oblivious to anyone who shows you any interest."

"I have not." Sara replied.

"I really don't need to hear this." Quentin muttered under his breath but his daughters ignored him.

"Yes, you have. That prosecutor from Central that came by to ask you for a consult, she was clearly interested. The paramedic on the night shift, the guy who always waits on us at the cafe we go to lunch at."

Before Sara could reply, the Mayor took the podium and they all took their seats to hear what he had to say.

Leonard was doing his level best to avoid all points of contact with anyone as he usually did at these functions. His sister was the social one, she could deal with the politicians and the press, all he wanted was to get through the night and go home. He had quite a bit of work to catch up on, given all the time he had to take off and it rankled him having to be here, watching the guests twirl about the dance floor, instead of in his office.

"Mr. Snart?" a voice called softly behind him and turned to find Dr. Lance standing there.

"Dr. Lance." he replied. "Please, call me Leonard."

She smiled. "Then I insist you call me Sara. I hope it's not to forward of me, but I was wondering if you would like to dance?" she asked.

Leonard was taken back to say the least. He wasn't much of a dancer to begin with, but on top of that, he was certain her dismissal of offer to get coffee was a polite brush off. Her way of saying he was only a bizarre day at work for her, nothing more.

"I'd love to, though, fair warning I'm not much for dancing."

Sara chuckled. "I'm sure you're just fine." she replied taking his hand letting him lead her out onto the dance floor. "So," she spoke up again as they swayed to the soft music. "I hear there's a new Coffee shop downtown."

"CC Jitters." Leonard replied. "I've been meaning to give it a try."

"Me too. We should go together." she suggested.

Leonard paused, processing what she was saying. "We should." he eventually replied.
