Testament 10: The Forbidden Love and the Promise
It was another day in Basara's and Mio's school. In their classroom, Basara has been looking at Yuki's desk in sadness for a while. It has been 10 days after the duel, and he and the others hadn't received word from her since then, and Basara can't help but worry about her while in the same time missing her.
Mio also notice what's been going on with Basara and feels a little worried about him, and she also misses Yuki as well.
"Are you all right, Naruse-san?" One of her friends asks as they were standing by her desk.
This made Mio blinks before she turns to her friends.
"Huh?" Mio said.
Then her friends turn to Basara.
"Toujou-kun's been acting that way, and our class rep's been out this whole time." One of them said before they turn back to Mio.
"If there's something troubling you, you can always tell us."
"Yeah, thanks…" Mio said.
"Sure thing." One of them told her.
"We're friends after all."
(Later)
After school was over, Basara and Mio were walking back home together, as they were walking in the city, Basara soon spotted a familiar spot as he stops walking and looks at it, and it was the shopping mall he and Yuki visited together in the day before the duel.
"Basara." Basara looks and saw Kivat flying towards him before he landed on his shoulder. "You still miss, Yuki don't you?"
"Yeah…" Basara nodded. 'It's still been only ten days since then…'
Mio then grabs onto Basara's arm.
"Basara?" Mio gently calls out, but Basara didn't respond as he kept looking.
Mio then grabs onto his hand to comfort him, and Kivat did the same by petting his wing on the back of his head.
(Cue Break the Chain)
(Instrumental) As the song was playing, in the main room of Castle Doran Mio was sleeping on white bed wearing red dress while rose petals fall on her, then changes to Kiva walking through the hallways of Castle Doran. Then the scene changes Kiva picking up Mio in bridal carry. The tone changes then Kiva turns face to face at the screen. Then Kiva was flying upside down with his right leg armor open.
(Baku Baku beatin' heart! Kattobashite killin' it now!) Kiva on his motorcycle begins driving it fast on the street.
(Baki Baki beatin' heart! Kimi koso one and only) Then changes to Kiva sitting on throne in Castle Doran, The Arm Monsters in their human forms and Mio, Maria, and Yuki walking towards him. Changes back to Kiva flying upside down again.
(Kimi ga sekai ni sonzai shiteru, imi wo shiritakunai? {Baku baku beatin' heart!}) Maria and Yuki were in the kitchen papering for dinner, while Basara and Mio were setting the table, Kivat is seen flying in the screen singing.
(Baki Baki beatin' heart!) Basara, Mio, and Yuki are seated in their classroom, then changes Yahiro eating with Basara on the roof, while in that time eight Kivat's were singing on the top and bottom of the screen.
{Instrumental} (Soko ni kakurete temo! Nani mo hajimannai) Mio then remembers Zolgear killing her parents, and then changes to Basara with chains crawling under his skin, and then changes to Lars, Zest, Valga, and Zolgear together on a stair case. The scene changes to Basara as the chains speared out of him and restraining him.
(Tozasareteta DOA wo sono de kowase) Kiva was walking in a dark room, and then Kiva watches shattered stain glass was reforming making a window that shines on him beneath him is the shadow of the mirror. Then change back to Basara freeing himself from the chains.
(Me ni mienu fuan wo kazote tomaranaide) Basara held Kivat on his hand and let him bite him and then inserts him into his belt, and then changes into Kiva.
(Unmei no RUURU yabutteku) A child Basara was on his knees in a carter as was Brynhildr stab on the ground next to him.
(Me ni mienai tsunagari shinite ugoki dasou) Kiva on the throne of Castle Doran and near it is the Arm Monsters in human form, and then showed Mio hugging on the back of his neck, Yuki was hugging him on his arm, and Maria hugging on his leg.
(You got to change! Breakin' the chain! Tobashiteke ashita e) Kiva was readying his fist and shattered the stain window in pieces again, Kiva changes back to Basara.
(Don't be afraid! Walk in the stage, just GO! {Instrumental}) Kivat was flying near Kiva's raised right leg and the armor opens and freed the red wings. Kiva was now showed on top of Castle Doran and then jumps high in the air.
(Baku Baku Beatin' heart! Kimi koso one and only) Kivat fly's through the screen followed by Kiva doing his signature attack. Then changes into title of the story with Kiva's symbol.
After Basara was done reminiscing, he, Mio, and Kivat made it back home, as they enter inside.
"We're home." They said in the same time as they walk inside.
Someone is seen cooking in the kitchen, before Basara heads inside the half living room and kitchen with Kivat still on his shoulder, and they soon smells what was cooking.
"Oh?" Basara said as he smells the food before he closes the door behind him and heads to the kitchen. "That smells good."
"With you right there, partner." Kivat said while smelling the food as well.
Basara then opens the fridge to get something to drink.
"What are you cooking?" Basara asked before he was about to grab a can of soda.
"My special beef stew." A familiar voice told him.
Hearing that voice made Basara to blink in surprised before he turns and saw it was Yuki who was cooking.
"Yuki?!" Basara gasped surprised to see her again in his house.
"Well I'll be you're back!" Kivat said before he flies off of Basara's shoulder.
Yuki then walks up to Basara.
"I came to take responsibility." Yuki told them.
"But you and Shiba-san both…" Basara said.
"The village reverted Mio Naruse's level to its original state." Yuki told him. "In other words, they're pretending the recent events never happened."
"Really? Not so responsible for people who call themselves heroes. No offense though." Kivat told her.
"It's not." Yuki shook her head.
"Does that mean the elders have forgiven us?" Basara asked sounding a little worried.
"Kurumi mentioned that the elders received a phone call from Jin-san." Yuki told him.
"From dad?" Basara said before he remembers his father's words when they last spoken with each other.
'I've got your back. It doesn't matter if they're planning on unleashing Byakko or not. Go crush them.'
'What kind of deal did he strike with the village?' Basara wonders in thought being worried on what his father told the village elders.
Basara soon got rid of that thought as he suddenly hugs Yuki close to him.
"Basara?" Yuki said really surprised by her childhood friend's sudden action.
"Thank goodness. I mean it." Basara said sounding really happy, and Kivat looks at him with a smile on his face.
Yuki then grabs onto his head which made Basara opens his eyes. Yuki then closes her eyes and brought her lips out, before she slowly moves her lips to Basara and they were about to touch until.
"Ahem!" Hearing made them stop as they moved away from each other and Basara become really scared.
They soon turned to the source of the voice and saw Mio in the room looking at them.
"Kissing right away upon your reunion?" Mio asked sounding a bit angry.
"N-No, we're not-" Basara mutters thinking a way to explained the situation, before Yuki grabs onto his arms and pulls him closed to her.
"Naruse-san." Yuki said which made Mio's eyebrow and mouth to twitch. "Basara and I are busy right now, so I'm sorry, but if you need something, could wait until later?"
"Huh?!" Mio said before she pointed her finger at Yuki. "Should you really say such things in someone else's home?"
Maria then walks in the room standing behind Mio.
"Welcome home." Maria said Mio then turns to her.
"Maria! Are you the one who let her in here?" Mio asked her succubus servant.
"Huh? Was that a bad thing?" Maria asked. "You were worried about her the whole time too, were you not, Mio-sama?"
"W-Well I…" Mio mutters.
"Don't worry. I've received permission from the elders to reside with you." Yuki told them all.
"Huh?!" Basara and Mio gasped in the same time when she said that.
"For observation, it's more convenient this way." Yuki told them.
"Oh I see that does indeed make some sense." Kivat nodded in understanding.
'But still, it is rather bold though. And I have a feeling it's not just for that.' Kivat thought having a sneaking suspicion about Yuki's living here.
"I wasn't asking about your convenience!" Mio exclaimed.
'Was this also dad's idea…No, no way, right?' Basara thought.
"Now, now," Maria said getting everyone's attention. "I have just finished preparing entertainment for Yuki-san."
"Entertainment?" Basara parroted.
They sound gather by the couch with Yuki sitting on it while looking at the TV, and Maria is seen holding the remote in her hand.
"As thanks for saving, Mio-sama," Maria said before she turns on the TV revealing Basara's and Mio's submission ritual the day after the duel the part where he pours maple syrup on her body. "I am going to show her this secret footage!"
"Wha?!" Basara and Mio gasped as they faces turned red.
"What do you think, Yuki-san?" Maria asked, Yuki remained unfazed on what she was seeing, as the video goes on. "Please look at this. Mio-sama's horny expression and her lewd breasts! Viva HD! Hooray for 4K!"
Mio screams in embarrassment before she steals the remote out of Maria's hand and quickly turns off the TV.
"Maria! Y-You…" Mio said.
"W-When did you?!" Basara asked.
"And how did you recorded, all of that?" Kivat asked.
"Your first time training her was an event worthy of recording as much as any sports or academic festival is it not?" Maria asked.
"Only for you succubi!" Mio exclaimed at her.
"What?! Then what about your first time pleasuring yourself?!" Maria argues back which made Mio to pick her up by Maria's neck to strangle her.
"I would never let anyone record that!" Mio growls as she chokes the life out of her.
"M-Mio-sama!" Maria mutters while having trouble breathing.
Yuki soon stands up and begins to take off her shirt.
"H-Hey…!" Basara said before he and Kivat looks away from her.
"Hey?! What are you doing, Nonaka?!" Mio asked as she let's go of Maria.
"I'm going to have Basara do the same with me." Yuki answered.
"Then I must prepare the camera quickly!" Maria said happily before she was about walk to her room to get the camera, but Mio stops as she grabs her succubus servant on the neck to choke on her again.
"Maria! Cut it out, or I'll kill you a hundred times over!" Mio warns her.
"Hold on, Basara. I'll strip right now." Yuki assured him.
"Don't start stripping!" Basara told her.
"Basara, where do you keep the maple syrup?" Yuki asked, which made Maria got closed to Yuki's face.
"No, Yuki-san, your skin is pale, so chocolate would contrast better!" Maria told her, which made Mio grab her on the neck again before she drags her back to her and soon Mio begins punishing Maria.
"M-Mio-sama! I am really…I am really going to suffocate!" Maria told her.
After the food was done, and after Mio was done punishing Maria, they soon begin eating Yuki's special beef stew. As they eating Maria explains to Yuki about the Master-Servant pact.
"Master-Servant pact?" Yuki said.
"Yes, Mio-sama being in such an unladylike state is the result of the magic of the Master-Servant pact." Maria told her.
"U-Unladylike?!" Mio parroted as her cheeks turn red.
"It allows you to ascertain each other's positions…and makes you stronger…" Yuki said.
"Yes, it does! So Mio-sama was not gasping lewdly for no reason!" Maria told her.
"L-Lewdly?" Mio parroted before she looks down.
"So with that in mind, if you do not mind, would you forge a Master-Servant pact with Basara-san, as well, Yuki-san?" Maria asked.
"Huh?!" Basara and Mio gasped in the same time.
"The next full moon will arrived four days from now, think you can wait that long?" Maria asked.
"Yes, of course." Yuki said which made Basara and Mio stand up and look at Yuki.
"Yuki?!/Nonaka?!" Basara and Mio said in the same time.
Kivat chuckles at their situation before he eats his bowl of beef stew.
(Meanwhile)
Inside of a hospital, one of the receptionists was done helping a visitor, and soon turns to the next one.
"Hello sir, how can I help you?" She asked.
The person she was talking is a man in his mid-20s with black hair and green eyes, and is wearing a brown suit with no tie, and wears black shoes, and he was holding a bouquet of flower lilies.
"Yes, I'm here to visit Lala Asakura. I'm a close friend of her family's." He told her.
"Lala Asakura," The reception lady said while searching the name with her computer and soon found it. "Ah yes, here she is. You'll find her in the fifth floor, in room 502."
"Thank you." He told her before he heads to the elevator.
"Quite strange, I wonder if he was friends with her children or something." The reception lady said as she watches him before she turns to greet the next person in line.
The man with the bouquet of flower lilies is now in the elevator that is moving to the fifth floor, and soon stops at that floor as the doors open. He then exits the elevator as he walks onto the floor, and heads to room 502.
He then arrives at that room with the name Lala Asakura on the bottom of that sign. He soon opens the door and enters inside, and saw Lala resting on the bed of the room and was looking at the outside through her window.
"Lala, it's me." He quietly called out, which made Lala flinch before she turns to him showing her shock face.
Lala Asakura has long blonde hair and has bright blue eyes, and is an elderly woman in her mid-70s and wearing a hospital gown.
After Lala stares at the young man with widen eyes before tears started to fall on her cheeks and smiles.
"Takeo…You're here." Lala said with joy in her voice.
"Yes of course, why wouldn't I be?" Takeo said before he walks to her and sits by her bed, he then handed her the flowers in his hands. "Here for you."
Lala soon wipes away her tears and accepted the flowers.
"Lilies my favorite flowers…You still remember despite all these years." Lala said as she smelled the flowers before she turns back to Takeo.
"And speaking of years, look at you." Lala said before she caressed his cheek. "Fifty years, and you hadn't age a day. I bet I'm nothing but an old lady to you now."
"Don't say that." Takeo said before he grabs onto both of her hands and brought them together. "To me you're still the amazing young woman that I fall in..."
Takeo then stops himself before his eyes sadden before he and Lala turns to a few pictures frames that was on top of the drawer that was by her bed. In each of those pictures was Lala in her youth along with a husband who wasn't Takeo and the others was with her three children and one has a picture of a granddaughter who slightly resembles Lala in her youth.
"No I don't deserve to say it, especially now, after all these years." Takeo said before he lowers his head.
"Well I may have lived my life. But my only regret…" Lala said which made Takeo turn back to Lala who extended her hand and caressed his cheek as their eyes stare at each other's. "Is that I didn't get to live it with you."
Takeo then begins to shed tears before he grabs onto her hand with of his own. Seeing him cry made Lala sad before she begins to sing a lullaby.
"The nighttime fills the sky…Stars alive go floating by, so still the evening air…So warm and soft…Peace everywhere…I see a world in harmony…A world of peace and humanity…Where people walk free like water in a stream…Flowing on forevermore…"
"Lala…" Takeo said in surprised to hear her sing.
"What do you think? I might be old, but I still have my singing voice." Lala said with a proud smile.
"It was…Still amazing as it ever was…" Takeo said as he wipes away his tears.
"That's good to hear. Also Takeo, there's something I've want to ask you." Lala said as Takeo tears was now gone. "Why did you disappear like that?"
"You know why." Takeo said with sadness in his voice. "I told you before; that it was forbidden for my kind to ever fall in love with a human."
"I know that, but why is that? Why is that so wrong for your people to do so? How is it so wrong to love any person?" Lala asked.
"I wish I know…Believe me I wish I know…" Takeo said. "But I was fully aware of the consequences, and what would have happen to the both of us. I couldn't stand the thought of that, of you being punish because of me. So I had no choice but to disappear."
"Takeo…" Lala mutters seeing the look on his face like he was about to cry. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you sad."
"No…It's alright." Takeo said while shaking his head. "When I learn that you were in the hospital, I just wanted to see you at least until…"
Takeo tries his best to fight back his tears.
"I'm so happy to hear that…Especially since I don't have very long…" Lala said which gotten Takeo's attention after she said that last part. "Also Takeo can you promise me one thing?"
"What is it? I'll be happy to do it…" Takeo said while forcing a smile as tears forms on the edge of his eyes.
"Can you please look after my family, especially my granddaughter Lyla? They're my most precious treasure, promise me that you'll watch over and protect them…" Lala said, and finally Takeo's tears finally fallen runs down his cheeks.
"Of course I will, I promise you, that I will even if it cost me my life!" Takeo swore.
Lala smiles happily as tears fallen down her own eyes as well, as her heart beat is becoming weaker and weaker and while she was slowly closing her eyes…
Then suddenly Takeo felt her hand drop as he continues to hold it, which made him to open his eyes widely, before he turns to Lala's face.
"Lala…" Takeo quietly calls out but she didn't respond, and he soon realized that Lala's soul has left this earth.
Takeo then hugs her closed and he soon cries in despair and sadness.
(Two days later)
Things of been a bit hefty since Yuki's return, on the second day Maria had led Basara to all sorts of places, until they made their way to the girls changing room.
As Maria was messing around with Basara, where they soon found Mio's locker and Maria brought out Mio's underwear and puts it on Basara's head, as he was about to take them off, they soon heard the girls coming in which forced them to hide in Mio's locker.
Mio then found them in her locker and when she did she attacks them in the locker but understands that they are only there for her safety. This sets off the curse, which Basara makes her submit using the shower head to increase their powers.
Then Basara spotted Maria talking with Yahiro and runs to them to what that is about, but soon found that they were gone, he then looks around for Maria, and soon found. As they were leaving the school together, she told him that she was trying to memorize the layout of the school for another bonding ritual for him and Mio, and Basara believed her.
Late on after that, Basara, Mio, and Yuki then goes shopping together for groceries, as they were walking down the streets while talking about on what to do for dinner, they soon heard singing nearby and look.
The singer is on a public stage and in front of that stage is a crowd of people that was cheering for her, wearing an idol outfit that was white, she is around Basara's age, with long blonde that is tied in a single side ponytail and has green eyes.
(Cue: Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale Insert Song – Break Beat Bark)
"Keihou ga hibiite houimou de ganjigarame! Checkmate sunzen Countdown iyarashii na! Katte na yokubou de fumitsukeraretatte! Boku no seorii ja kotae wa 'No! Are you kidding me?'" As she was singing the cheers louder and louder, and Basara, Mio, and Yuki were in awe by her singing.
"Wow, she's really good." Basara said as he nods to the rhythm of her song.
"Yeah she is." Yuki said.
"Wait I think I know her." Mio said getting their attention. "I think her name is Lyla Asakura, she's a new idol that my friends told me about, and she's becoming really popular to a lot of people."
"Really?" Basara said before he turns back to the stage as Lyla was in end of her song before she finished and her audience cheers for her, which made her smile and wave.
"Thank you! I really appreciate the support; I hope you continue doing so!" Lyla told them before she blows a kiss to them, before the curtains closed in front of her.
"I can see how she's really popular." Yuki said and Mio nodded in agreement.
Basara then spotted someone that was across the street where the stage was wearing a hat and a trench coat, and was hiding behind power pole. This made Basara a little suspicious about that person as he narrows his eyes at him.
"Well anyway we should probably continue to the supermarket." Mio said before she notices that Basara wasn't paying attention. "Basara?"
Basara then saw the man in a coat moving to the stage.
"Sorry but I just remember, that I have something to do. You two go on ahead." Basara told them before he follows that man from afar and Mio and Yuki watches him leave.
"Basara? I wonder what's wrong." Mio said in wonder, while Yuki have an idea on what Basara was up to.
Lyla walks down to the backstage, and waiting for her is her manager Sakurada holding a bottle of water and a towel in her hands.
Lyla's manage is a young woman with shoulder length black hair and eyes, with a black suit with a skirt and shoes.
"Great work out there Lyla-chan." Sakurada said before she handed Lyla the bottle and the towel.
"Thanks Sakurada-san." Lyla said as she wipes the towel on the front of her head to wipe off some sweat and soon drinks the water bottle.
"I'm glad to you're still able to do a great job. I know it wasn't easy for you after your grandmother died." Sakurada said which made Lyla looks down in sadness.
"Yeah, and I still miss, Obaa-chan…" Lyla said before she looks up and slaps both of her hands on her cheeks, and made a smile. "But it's alright, she would be proud that I'm still continuing to sing, and she was the one who inspired me to follow my dream."
Sakurada smiles proudly when she heard that.
"I'm glad to hear that. You wait here; I'll go get the car." Sakurada told her before she leaves the backstage and heads outside.
As Sakurada left the backstage leaving the front open, the man in the trench was spying on her Lyla, then he removes the brim of his hat away from his face revealing himself as Takeo to have a good look at Lyla.
'She's really the spitting image of Lala.' Takeo thought before he remembers the first time he met Lala.
(Flashback 50 years ago)
Takeo is seen walking down the streets of the city, and he was walking by a bar, before he heard beautiful singing inside, which made very curious before he gone inside.
As he looks around inside he soon found the singing on stage, and it was a young 25 year old Lala singing.
Takeo was in awe by her performance, and couldn't take his eyes off her; it was like she was an angle that had descended from the heavens. Takeo then spotted a piano on stage and after hearing Lala singing he felt inspired to play it to sing along with her.
As Lala was about to begin her next song, she heard the piano playing which surprised her as she looks and saw Takeo playing it and soon sings a song. Lala blinks a few times before she smiles as well before she begins singing with him and the customers inside the bar really like their performance with each other before they begin to cheer them on.
(End of flashback)
Takeo smiles as he reminisces and while being proud of Lyla that she inherited her grandmother's passion for singing.
"Hey who are you?" Takeo blinks before he looks and saw that there was another woman in the backstage with Lyla.
She had white shoulder length hair and has bright red eyes, and is wearing a white dress with red scarf and has white boots.
"You're not supposed to be back here." Lyla told the woman in the white dress, which also made Takeo a little on edge.
"Oh don't worry about it. I won't be here for long and in fact neither are you." She told Lyla, which made the idol singer a little scared and she was going to run away, but was stop as the woman in the white dress grabs hold onto her neck and placed a piece of cloth on her mouth, and when breaths in whatever was in the cloth she begins to lose unconscious as the woman in the white dress begins to carry out.
"Oh no!" Takeo said before he follows.
Basara then arrives to where he was and found that he was now gone.
"Oh no I lost him." Basara said as he looks around the area.
The woman in the white dress brought Lyla in an alleyway, as she placed her on the wall, she then licks her lips before two Life-Sucking Fangs appears behind Lyla's neck and they were about to stab into her, until Takeo stops her by grabbing her wrist and two different Fangs appear and clashed against the other pair before they both disappeared.
Takeo then removes the woman in the white dress's hands off of Lyla as she fallen on the ground.
"Don't you, touch her!" Takeo said before he throws the woman away from Lyla.
"Who the hell are you?" The woman in the white dress asked with an angry face.
Takeo answered as stained glass markings appear on his face indicating that he's a Fangire, which surprised the woman before she smiles.
"Oh I see now." She said before the same stained glass markings appear on her face as well, revealing herself as a Fangire too. "So are you here for that girl too? Well too bad I found her first."
"No, I'm not here for that." Takeo said before he brought his arm in front of the unconscious Lyla, which confused the woman in the white dress. "Because Lyla Asakura; is under my protection."
"What you're protection?" She said before she made a mocking laugh. "Please tell me you're not serious, I mean a Fangire protecting a human girl? That's just ridicules."
"How serious do I look?" Takeo said before he transformed into his Fangire Form, which is in the design of a frog and he is now armed with a sword.
This is the Frog Fangire.
"Fine then if you're going to be in my way. Then I'll just force my way through!" She exclaimed before she transformed into her Fangire Form.
Her Fangire form is colored white with a bit of red, and has the designs of a rabbit with the long ears, and has red eyes, and is now armed with a two pairs of claws attach on her hands.
This is the Rabbit Fangire.
Then the two Fangires charge at each other and clashed their weapons against each other's before they entered in closed quarters combat.
Lyla then slowly begins to wake up as her eyes begins to open, she then sits up and soon saw the two Fangires battling against each other, which scared her before she screams.
Basara blinks when he heard Lyla's screams before he looks to the source of it.
"Over there!" Basara said before he runs to where Lyla and the two Fangires are.
The Rabbit Fangire attacks two times at the Frog Fangire with her claws which he manages to block with his sword before he slashes at the Rabbit Fangire, but she dodges it by jumping over it and the Rabbit Fangire lands behind him and slashes the Frog Fangire on the back.
The Frog Fangire turns around and attack at the Rabbit Fangire a few times which she manage to dodge and parry before she jumps back away, but when she was in the air the Frog Fangire soon fires energy warts from his shoulders on her, which made the Rabbit Fangire to land on one knee.
The Rabbit Fangire soon stands back up before she, and the Frog Fangire charge at each other.
Lyla was trembling in fear as she watches the two Fangires fight each other.
'What's going on? What are these monsters?' Lyla thought, she wanted to run away but was too scared to even move.
Both Fangires clashed their weapons against each other's, before the Rabbit Fangire throws in a downward slash at the Frog Fangire which he manage to block with his sword and their weapons were locked against each other.
Then the Frog Fangire summons a rifle in his other hand and brought it closed to the Rabbit Fangire's chest which she soon notices before the Frog Fangire fires upon her, which cause her to stumble back and the Frog Fangire fires energy warts sending her flying before she lands on the ground as she changes back into her human form.
Lyla recognizes the Rabbit Fangire's human form.
'It's her again…' Lyla thought before she made a conclusion before she looks at the Frog Fangire. 'Was he protecting me?'
The Frog Fangire then walks up to the Rabbit Fangire who manages to only lift her head up before the Frog Fangire pointed his rifle in front of her head.
"You won't touch her again." The Frog Fangire said as he was about to pull the trigger…
Until someone jumps at the Frog Fangire and kicks him away from the Rabbit Fangire, he and the others look and saw that it was Basara.
"So I was right, you were a Fangire. Kivat!" Basara calls out.
"Yosha! Kivatte ikuze!" Kivat happily announced as he flies to Basara before he catches with his right hand, and soon bites onto Basara's other hand.
"GABUU!"
"Henshin!" Basara said before he attaches Kivat onto his belt, and soon transformed into Kiva.
"Kiva?!" The Frog Fangire gasped.
The Rabbit Fangire was also surprised by this before she soon realizes that Kiva was only focus on the Frog Fangire which means he doesn't know about her being one as well which made her smile seeing this as a blessing in disguise.
"Please you have to help us!" Rabbit told Kiva which gotten his attention, before she pointed at the Frog Fangire. "That monster was attacking that girl and then me when he saw that I was passing by!"
Kiva then turns back the Frog Fangire and enters his combat pose before he charges at the Fangire.
"Wait, Kiva! Let me explained!" The Frog Fangire told him, but Kiva didn't listened as he punches on him which made the Fangire to stumble back and Kiva kicks on him to two times, having no choice the Frog Fangire runs away but Kiva soon follows behind him.
Rabbit smirks as she stands back on her feet.
"Now with those two gone I can finally…" Rabbit said before she turn to where Lyla was but soon found that was gone, which made her gritted her teeth. "No…! She got away!"
Kiva punches at the Frog Fangire sending him rolling on the ground. The Frog Fangire soon get back up on one of his knees, having no choice but to fight back he fires at Kiva with his rifle which he manages to dodge with a shoulder roll.
When Kiva stands on one knee he brought out his Garulu Fuestle and inserted it into Kivat's mouth.
"GARULU SABER!"
Kiva changes into his Garulu Form and soon charges at the Frog Fangire as he stands back on his feet, and soon saw that Kiva was getting closer to him, the Frog Fangire swings his sword at Kiva which he manages to dodge and counter attacks with a upward slash on the Fangire's chest followed with a downward slash, forcing the Fangire to stumble back as he let's his sword fall to the ground before he fallen on one knee.
The Frog Fangire then fires energy warts at Kiva, which he manages to dodge as he jumps backwards before he lands back on the ground. The Frog Fangire then pointed his rifle and fires upon Kiva, which he manages to block with his sword.
Kiva soon brought out his Bashaa Fuestle and inserts it into Kivat's mouth.
"BASHAA MAGNUM!"
Kiva stands back on his feet as he changes into his Bashaa Form, and soon fires his Bashaa Magnum at the Frog Fangire, and when his water bullets hit the Fangire it made him to stumble back before he regain his balance and was about to counter fire at Kiva, but was too late as Kiva fires at his rifle knocking it out of his hand.
Kiva soon fires upon the Frog Fangire with so many water bullets that the Fangire finally fallen on one hand and knee.
Kiva was about to initiate his finishing move as he about to have Kiva bite on his Magnum…
"Wait stop!" Lyla said as she runs in between in front of Kiva and the Frog Fangire, which surprised the Bat Rider. "Please I don't know what's going on, or what all of this is about! But please don't hurt this one; he was just trying to protect me from that other monster!"
"Nani?" Kivat gasped in surprised, and Kiva was surprised as well.
Kiva then looks back at the Frog Fangire, he would have use this chance to used Lyla has a hostage and make her a human shield, but instead of that the Fangire looks down to the ground away from her.
Kiva then looks back at Lyla and saw the look in her eyes, and can tell that she wasn't lying.
Kiva then lowers his gun as he changes back into his Base Form, and soon his motorcycle drives and stop by his side, Kiva then got on his back and soon drives away leaving the area.
Lyla sighs in relief and was going to turn to the Frog Fangire to thank him, but soon found him jumping on top of a nearby building, and was about to walk away.
"Wait!" Lyla calls out, which made the Frog Fangire to stop and turned his head at her. "Before you go, can you please tell me who you are?"
The Frog Fangire didn't answer as he turns away from Lyla and walks away leaving the area.
Lyla was a little sad that she didn't get to learn her savior's name.
(With Basara)
After leaving, Basara and met up with Mio and Yuki, as they were walking back home together, Basara told them of what happened.
"What, a Fangire protecting a human?" Mio asked surprised when Basara said that.
"Yeah, as crazy as it sounds I think it might be true. And it might mean that woman that was also there must have been another Fangire, and was probably the one who attack that Lyla girl." Basara said.
"Or it could be another trick." Yuki stated.
"Maybe so, but I'm going to watch over Lyla just to be safe." Basara told the two of them.
Knowing that her childhood friend isn't someone who backs out of his word, Yuki nodded.
"Alright but I'll be coming along as well." Yuki told him, which surprises Basara and Mio.
"What, but Yuki…" Basara started.
"I'm not going to let you handle this alone, and besides I like to see this so called good Fangire for myself." Yuki said, Basara knows that Yuki don't take no for an answer.
"Alright fine…" Basara sighs, Mio slightly gritted her teeth.
"Then I'm coming as well!" Mio stated which surprises Basara before he shook his head.
'I should have seen this coming…' Basara thought unaware that Kivat was flying above them watching over them and can't help but chuckles in his partner's current situation.
(Next day)
At the waterfront, Lyla is doing a handshake event standing behind a table, and is shaking the hand of one of her fans, and standing behind that fan is a long line of many more.
Watching over Lyla is Takeo who is hiding behind a tree, as he watches out for the Rabbit Fangire in case, having a gut feeling that she'll return for Lyla now that she knows what her human form looks like.
"Hey!" Takeo flinches before he turns around, and saw Basara, Kivat, Mio and Yuki standing behind him.
Takeo sighs.
"I guess I shouldn't be so surprised that we meet again like this, Kiva." Takeo said. "But as you can see I'm not trying to do any harm, or case trouble. I'm just here to make sure that girl is safe."
"I can see that, but I'm not sure I can believe you, for all I can know this can be a trick to gain our trust and hers." Basara stated.
Takeo then looks back at Lyla.
"I can assure you, that it's no trick. I really want to protect Lyla Asakura." Takeo told him.
"But why though, especially since you're a Fangire." Mio said getting Takeo's attention. "I've seen and heard what Fangire does to people, and some of them want me all because-"
"That you're the pervious Demon Lord's daughter." Takeo interrupted which surprises Mio and the others. "I know, in fact most other Fangires knows that you're here in this city, and that you're under the protection of Kiva."
"If that's true, then why hadn't you made a move on her, especially since she's standing right in front of you?" Yuki asked.
Takeo looks down to the ground before he turns back to Lyla.
"It's because I made a promise." Takeo stated.
"A promise? To who?" Basara asked.
"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to tell you." Takeo said before he turns back to Basara and the others. "I promise to her grandmother, Lala that I would protect her."
"Wait to a human?" Basara asked a little surprised, and who so were Mio and Yuki.
"Yeah," Takeo said before he looks at the sky. "I met Lala around 50 years ago, she was singer in a bar and was amazing one at that. Not only that she an incredibly woman, she was so kind, gentle, and brave, I never met one so amazing despite my long years. And was more amazing she discovery my Fangire form, after I protected her from a few thugs, and not once was she afraid of me. Then soon after that I begin to realize that I was…" Takeo stops himself from saying more until Kivat finished for him.
"You've fallen in love with her, didn't you?" Kivat said, which surprises Basara, Mio, and Yuki even more, before they turn to Takeo who answered by nodding.
"Wait then wouldn't that make you…" Mio started.
"Lyla's grandfather? No afraid not." Takeo answered before she could finish as he shook his head. "After I realized that I've fallen in love with Lala, I disappeared in her life and never seen her again since."
"But why though? If you were in love with her grandmother, then why do that?" Mio asked.
"Well Mio," Kivat said getting Mio's and Yuki's attention. "It's because, it's forbidden for a Fangire to ever fall in love with a human."
"What?" Mio and Yuki gasped in surprised.
Basara wasn't all that surprised; he heard about that law before and didn't think he ever met a Fangire that was in love with a human.
"It's true…To the Checkmate Four the rulers of our race, falling in love with a human is consider treachery to them, so they executed the Fangire and often his or her lover. I couldn't bear the thought of the same happening to Lala so that's why I disappeared." Takeo said with a hint of sadness in his voice.
"But…That's crazy, how is it so wrong for you to fall in love with someone? That doesn't make any sense!" Mio said.
"Lala said the same thing when I visited her despite so many years has passed." Takeo said before he looks up. "You see a few days ago I heard that Lala was in the hospital, and didn't have very much time. I wanted to see her one last time, so I visit her when she was at death's doors. And in her final moments I promise to her that I will watch over and protect her family, even if it costs me my life."
His words surprised Basara, Mio, and even Yuki, that he's willing to go so far to keep the promise he made with his deceased lover. This made Yuki wonders if there are others like Takeo who exists in this world.
They soon heard screaming, and soon look and saw that the fans were running away, and saw the Rabbit Fangire standing above a couple of glass human bodies, and was holding onto Lyla on the neck.
"Oh no, Lyla! Dammit!" Takeo said before he runs to the Rabbit Fangire and Lyla, and Basara and the others followed behind.
"Kivat!" Basara calls out as he runs and soon Kivat flies to his side.
"Yosha! Kivatte ikuze!" Kivat happily announced, before Basara raised his hand to him and Kivat soon bites on it.
"GABUU!"
Basara's belt soon appeared around his waist and Kivat soon attaches himself onto it.
"Henshin!" Basara declared as he transforms into Kiva and Takeo soon transformed into his Fangire form.
As Lyla tries to break free from the Rabbit Fangire's hold on her, before she throws Lyla on the ground.
"Sorry," The Rabbit Fangire said before her human form appears from the glass of her body. "But you're not getting away again. Especially since you know what I look like. So do me a favor…!"
The Rabbit Fangire pointed one of her claws and throws it down to Lyla.
"And die!" The Rabbit Fangire shouted Lyla braced herself as she closes her eyes, before the Rabbit Fangire was fired upon causing her to stop her attack and forced her to move away from Lyla.
They both look and saw that it was the Frog Fangire armed with his rifle and Kiva was by his side.
"You two again?!" The Rabbit Fangire exclaimed.
"You stay away from her!" The Frog Fangire warned his fellow Fangire before he and Kiva charges at the Rabbit Fangire and soon engages combat against her.
As Lyla sits back up, she was surprised to see Kiva and the Frog Fangire here again to save her.
"Asakura!" Lyla looks and saw Mio and Yuki running to her to check on her. "Are you alright?"
"Y-Yes I am…" Lyla nodded before she turns back to Kiva and the two Fangires as they battle against each other.
Kiva punches at the Rabbit Fangire, and the Frog Fangire follows behind him with a slash from his sword, the Rabbit Fangire parries their attacks as they charge by her.
Kiva soon turns around while doing a reverse roundhouse kick on the Rabbit Fangire's head, the Frog Fangire follows as he lands a slash on the Rabbit Fangire's chest.
Then the two attacks at the Rabbit Fangire in the same time, with Kiva landing a punch and the Frog Fangire landing a stab, which sends the Rabbit Fangire flying before she fallen on the ground.
"Damn you two…!" The Rabbit Fangire growls in anger as she stands back up, which gotten Kiva and the Frog Fangire ready for her next attack, before she started to laugh. "You may have the advantage in numbers! But now we're in my element!"
The Rabbit Fangire then charges at them in super speed, and slashes past Kiva and the Frog Fangire.
The Rabbit Fangire then slashes on Kiva on his back, Kiva turns around to punch at her but she dodges in high speed and slashes him on the chest sending to the ground.
The Frog Fangire then saw the Rabbit Fangire moving at him in a zig and zag movement, the Frog Fangire fires energy warts at the Rabbit Fangire but was useless as she dodges them, and soon the Rabbit Fangire circles around the Frog Fangire while in the same time slashing all over his body, before the Rabbit Fangire stops in front of him and did a double upward slash with her claws sending him rolling to the ground and stopping by Kiva.
"What the hell…she was never this fast yesterday." The Frog Fangire said as he and Kiva got stands back up on their feet, and seeing the Rabbit Fangire moving around them in high speeds.
"Hahaha! I wasn't able to do this because of the narrow space we were in yesterday! But now we're in an open and wide, where I can move more freely!" The Rabbit Fangire stated before she slashes on Kiva's and the Frog Fangire's chest making them fall on one knee.
"Damn it…I hate to say but she has the advantage over us." Kivat said.
"There must be some way to stop her movement, at least for a moment." Kiva said which made the Frog Fangire to have an idea before he looks down before he tightens his hand and turns to Kiva.
"Kiva, you've just given me an idea." The Frog Fangire told him. "I need you to try to limit her movement. I'll handle the rest."
Kiva wonders what he has plan, but having no other choice he nodded before he stands back up and pulls out his Bashaa Fuestle and inserts it into Kivat's mouth.
"BASHAA MAGNUM!"
Kiva transformed into his Bashaa Form and soon fires his Bashaa Magnum at the Rabbit Fangire, which she manages to dodge, that didn't stop Kiva as he kept on firing, until the Rabbit Fangire was starting to have trouble dodging his attacks as they were starting to graze her body bit by bit.
Then Kiva manages to land a shot on her legs causing her to fall and roll on the ground. The Rabbit Fangire clicks her tongue as she slowly got back up.
"Tsk! Lucky shot, I won't be so careless…" The Rabbit Fangire started before she was fired upon by the Frog Fangire's energy warts, she looks and saw the Frog Fangire running up to her and grabs onto her hand and soon grabs onto her with both of his arms holding onto hers, preventing her from moving. "Why you…! Let go of me!"
The Rabbit Fangire tries to break free, but the Frog Fangire still continues to strongly hold onto her, before he looks at Kiva and his human form appears on the glass of his body.
"Kiva now! Shoot through us!" The Frog Fangire told him, which surprises Kiva and the Rabbit Fangire before Mio, Yuki, and Lyla had just arrived.
"What, are you nuts?! You'll die right along with me!" The Rabbit Fangire said as she tries to break free even harder but no success.
"That's a price that I'm willing to make!" The Frog Fangire said. "Kiva what are you waiting for, do it!"
Kiva had brought his Magnum to Kivat but was hesitant to activate his finishing move before he looks down to the ground.
"Kiva please…!" The Frog Fangire said which made Kiva look back at him. "I know you don't want to do this! And I'm sorry for pushing this burden on you! But please help me keep my promise to Lala!"
Lyla was surprised to hear him say her grandmother's name, and it made her realized who the Frog Fangire is.
'Wait could he be…?' Lyla thought.
Kiva looks down to the ground again as he tightens his hand on his Bashaa Magnum and he soon hardens his resolved before he looks back up to the Frog Fangire and nodded to him.
The Frog Fangire's human form smirks and nodded back to him before it disappears.
Kiva then finally had Kivat bite on his Bashaa Magnum.
"BASHAA BITE…!"
Kiva then pointed his Magnum at the two Fangires before a water sphere appears in front of it, and Kiva soon pulled the trigger to fire it at the two of them.
"No…No!" The Rabbit Fangire shouted in fear as Kiva's attack was coming closer.
The Frog Fangire braced himself, until Kiva's attack shoots through the both of them.
"This can't be…" The Rabbit Fangire mutters before her body crystallized and shattered leaving her Soul Orb as it flies away.
Takeo back in his human form had remained but his body was glowing in a stained glass color before he fallen on to a tree and the sets his back against it.
Kiva was watching him before he changes back into Basara and soon he and Kivat heads to him.
"Old man!" Basara said before knelt down to Takeo, and Mio, Yuki and Lyla checks on him.
"What's going on?" Mio said wondering what was wrong with Takeo.
"This doesn't look good; I think his Soul Orb must have been damage by the attack." Kivat said getting Mio's and Yuki's attention. "And by the look of it I say he doesn't have that much time left."
"But isn't there something we can? What about bringing him to Castle Doran?" Mio asked, Kivat answered by shaking his head.
"Even if we did, that can only prolong the inevitable for short period of time." Kivat explains.
"No way…" Mio mutters sadden that they can't do anything to save Takeo.
"I'm sorry…I didn't mean for this to happen…" Basara said in sadness and was about cry, before Takeo placed his hand on his shoulder getting his attention.
"D-Don't blame yourself…I was the one…who forced you into doing this…you were just helping me to keep my promise…" Takeo told him.
Basara closes his eyes as he fights back his tears.
Takeo then felt someone grabbing onto and picking up his hand, which made him look and saw that it was Lyla holding his hand.
"Are…Are you Takeo-san?" Lyla asked which surprises Takeo.
"How do you know?" Takeo asked.
"Obaa-chan told me so much about you, the first person that she still loves despite all these years." Lyla answered. "She told me that you were a good man, one who loves music like she did and one who was kind and caring. And she was often sad about you, because she was living a happy life with her family and me, while knowing that you were living a life of sadness and loneliness."
Yuki was surprised to hear, that this Lala was still in love with Takeo despite that half a century has passed for the both of them, but understands that feeling as well.
Takeo was also surprised to hear, before he saw the image of Lala's face by her granddaughter's, and soon reaches out his hand to her face, and Lyla helps him by grabbing onto his hand and lets him caress her cheek.
"You're really are, Lala's granddaughter you both have the same warmth…" Takeo said.
"Thank you; you must have visited my grandmother when she was in the hospital, didn't you? That's where you promise to her." Lyla concluded.
"That's right I did…I wanted to see her one last time…before she passes on to the next world…" Takeo said. "And I was able to keep my promise…I have no regrets…"
Then tears started to fall from Lyla's eyes before she sings him a lullaby.
"The nighttime fills the sky. Stars alive go floating by, so still the evening air. So warm and soft, peace everywhere, I see a world in harmony. A world of peace and humanity, where people walk free like water in a stream, flowing on forevermore." Takeo was surprised to hear that song again before he mutters.
"T-That song…?"
"Obaa-chan taught it to me. It's the song that you and her created together, wasn't it?" Lyla asked.
"Yes…" Takeo nodded as he started to become weaker. "Yes it was…thank you…"
Lyla continues to smile before Takeo's hand fallen from her cheek and his head had slightly fallen as well.
"Lala…I'm going to join you now…" Takeo mutters as his slowly closes and his body shattered and faded away.
After seeing his body is now gone, Lyla soon started to cry in sadness for Takeo's passing while feeling she wasn't able to fully repay him. Mio then comforts her when she hugs her.
After a while Lyla had finally stopped crying, and was looking at the ocean standing on the water front, and looking behind her are Basara, Kivat, Mio, and Yuki.
"So what are you going to do now?" Basara asked.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm still going to sing." Lyly said before she turns around to him and his friends showing a smile on her face. "I want to keep on giving joy and love to everyone in this world, with the power of my voice and music, for not just my own dream, but for Obaa-chan and Takeo-san as well."
Basara and his friends made proud smiles for Lyla that she's going to keep on moving forward.
Kivat then flies onto Yuki shoulders which she notice when she turns to him.
"Well Yuki, did this experience gave you a new prospect on some things?" Kivat asked.
"I guess so." Yuki answered before she looks up to the sky. 'This day really had taught me a lot. That not all monsters are as evil as I once thought.'
(Later)
Maria in the house walks into her room, she then sighs.
"You know it's considered rude to sneak into a lady's room like this." Maria said before she turns around and saw Lars in the room with his back against the wall.
"Hmph…A succubus talking about manners, that's a laugh." Lars stated. "But anyway you know why I'm here, don't you?"
"I know…" Maria said before she looks down in sadness.
