"The mind forgets, but the heart will always remember.
And what is the heart's memory but love itself?"
~Tan Twan Eng

"Hmm." Was all Liv found within herself to respond. As odd as it seemed to her, it was as if she knew before he told her. "So, the crazy looking guy must be my biological dad and not some weirdo, who thinks he adopted me?" How could her parents keep that from her? And why hadn't he been a part of her life? Those questions were probably for another time. It made her wish she remembered at least parts of what had happened over the past several years. It couldn't have been all that bad, especially since she seemed to find a path of her own.

Happy chuckled before responding, "Yeah, Tig is your biological dad. Somehow, I don't think he would appreciate being called crazy looking or a weirdo, but now that you say that."

To Liv's surprise she liked the sound of his laughter. She studied Happy, he seemed lighter than when he came into her room. As if telling her what she meant to him lifted a huge weight off his shoulders. He looked less stressed out to her. Something inside of her made her feel more relaxed as well. "Then maybe we should keep that from him then." Liv suggested. "Happy, is there anything else I need to know?" She trusted him to tell her.

"Your secret is safe with me." He placed his hand over his heart. Such an enduring gesture. "Now Olivia, don't you think you have had enough truths for one night?" He asked, his brow furrowed. There was something else but what? He knew so much more than he was letting on.

Olivia sighed deeply, "I suppose I have. But I can tell you have something else to tell me." She gazed into Happy's stormy brown eyes. Did she really want to know what he had to tell her? Something told her she didn't.

Happy opened his mouth to respond but Liv quickly interrupted. "Wait! I think it should wait until tomorrow. I don't want to know yet." Pull the band-aid off slowly not quickly. She wasn't in a hurry to find out what had happened in the last three years. In a way, it was nice being blissfully ignorant of things. If her brief visit with Natalie had taught her anything, it was her life had changed, A LOT! Liv couldn't imagine a life without Nat; what had happened that had made things feel so down right frigid between them. Liv had never spoke to Natalie with such venom before or at least the she could remember. Something horrible must have happened between them. Guilt oozed into Olivia's soul, what if she was the whole reason things had done a one-eighty between them. She needed to make amends with Natalie, if it was her fault.

"Okay. It can wait for another time. I think I should go so you can get some rest." Happy said quietly as he began to stand.

"Please stay." Liv said without thinking. She gazed at Happy for a moment, her request surprised her as much as it seemed to surprise him. "I mean, you don't have to stay, if you don't want to. It's just that I find your presence calming." Olivia admitted.

Happy rubbed his head and sat back down. "I'll stay for just a little bit longer. You know there are lots of people out there who want to visit you." He motioned towards the door.

Liv frowned, she didn't know any of those people. "I don't want to see any one. I'm afraid all my visits are going to turn out like they did with Natalie. I don't know if I could handle that. Plus, I don't want any more surprises tonight."

"Alright, I am not one to argue with you." Happy shook his head.

That didn't seem right to Liv, "Why do I feel like that is a lie?" A stern look crossed her face as she looked at Happy. He laughed. Liv really liked the sound of his laughter. Her heart leaped when he did.

"Phff. What do you know, anyway?" Happy teased.

"That was a low blow. Using my amnesia as a jab." She stuck her tongue out at him. Things were just so easy with Happy, even if she only remembers just meeting him. It just felt right, the way it should when you are in a relationship with the person, who was made for you. Olivia had never felt anything like that before, not even with Matt. And they were supposedly meant to be; high school sweethearts. Ugh. What he did, stung Liv deeply. She wondered how she could still trust after all that or even want to be in a relationship for that matter. "Happy?" Liv turned to him after a long silence.

"Hmm?" He had settled back into the chair next Liv's bed.

"How did we meet? I mean how did I end up here?" She asked, Happy's face went dark. Olivia instantly regretted asking, something told her it was not a pleasant meeting. Perhaps Happy hated her to begin with or Liv hated him. She couldn't see why she would have. He seemed like a nice guy.

"I thought we were going to leave all the surprises for another day. We can talk about that another time, okay?" Happy sighed. "If you don't rest, your doctors aren't going to let any one visit you."

Olivia wondered why he avoided answering that question. Was how they met so horrible? Something right might have happened since they were together or so he said they were. "Yeah, some other time." She mumbled as she laid her head back against her pillow and tried to remember…she would have taken a sliver of a memory but there was nothing, just blackness.

"How could you have been such an insensitive bitch?" Juice growled at Natalie, while they stood outside of the hospital. He frustratingly ran his hands through his thick hair.

Natalie glared at him, "You're fucking kidding me, right? She is the one who told me to get the fuck out of her room. I am seriously supposed to pretend that everything is okay between Liv and me? Things have not been right between us, since I made the decision to fuck you." She spat back.

Juice couldn't understand why Natalie didn't see what he saw. They could get back into Liv's good graces and maybe help her realize that she isn't meant to be with Happy. "You do realize that this is the time to make amends with her. She doesn't remember anything that has happened over the last few years. We could take advantage of that."

Juice still missed Liv. The woman he had fought so hard to save all those years ago. (Not that he was actually saving her, she was already safe and fucking Happy.) But now, she was his Olivia again; the girl who had changed his life for the better. The Liv who kept him from taking his own life. She wasn't the one who was marred by SAMCRO and Happy. He wanted to spend time with that girl again. Juice wanted that girl to remember how much they loved each other. Sure, he was with Natalie and he cared about her but he didn't love her. They were only together because of Avery, they put on a good front together but there was never that spark he had with Liv. Juice wanted that back. "I am going to go and see Liv."

"You have to be joking. Do you really think that Happy will let you within a thousand feet of Liv? You're lucky he let you come with to Charming." Natalie shook her head and gave him an incredulous look. "There is no way he would let her leave Charming, not when she is pregnant with his baby."

What…baby?! Juice thought to himself, his heart just about stopped. He hadn't heard about a baby; Natalie must have misheard someone speaking about things. "What do you mean?"

Natalie let out a snort, "What do you think I mean? She is knocked up. She's got a bun in her oven. Her eggo is preggo. Do you need me to spell it out for you, Juice? She is P-R-E-G-N-A-N-T!" Annoyance oozed out Natalie. She couldn't wait to get back to Charlotteville.

Juice let out a deep sigh. "How?" He muttered more to himself than to Natalie. His heart hurt hearing the news. It seemed so final, any chance that he could have had to win Liv back was gone.

"Are you kidding me? We both know how babies are made Juice." Natalie glared. "Happy and Liv had sex and then she got pregnant. But then again, you haven't touched me in over six months, so maybe you have forgotten how it happens."

"Shut the fuck up Natalie." Juice stormed away. He couldn't take any more of her nagging and smart mouth. What a fucking mistake she had been.

Juice wandered the hospital for a bit before making his way passed the waiting room where most of the club was parked. He heard Happy's voice mention Liv was resting. That was almost a cue for him, he needed to see Olivia. Happy's voice made Juice feel in a way he hadn't in years. He felt violent, he wanted to kill Happy for everything he did to him and Olivia. Juice as sure that the whole reason this happened to Liv was because of something he did for the club. Wendy was dead and Liv almost lost her life because of Happy. There was no way it was just some fluke.

The door to Liv's hospital room was left slightly a jar. Juice peered in before entering making sure that none of the club was there before he entered.

"Liv?" A male voice stirred her from her sleep. Yet again.

"Ugh! Why is it whenever I start to fall asleep someone is rude enough to wake me?" Liv pried her tired eyes open. She just wanted to sleep, that was all she wanted. Just a few hours, was that too much to ask for? Being in the hospital sucked, if it wasn't a nurse or doctor waking her up it was a visitor.

An uneasy feeling washed over Liv as she gazed at the man, who was in her room. "Juan Carlos?" She remembered. He was older and dark brown eyes looked sadder. His hair was a no longer short and was a thick mess on his head. He had been so sweet to her when it came to dealing with Matt and he took her out for a beer after her shift. So, why did she feel uncomfortable with him being there?

A smile crossed Juice's face. "Yeah. How are you feeling?" He asked.

"I am okay. Sore and super tired." Liv sighed. She wished Happy would show up or anyone for that matter she didn't want to be alone with Juan.

"I am glad that you remember me. I was worried you wouldn't." He said quietly as he sat down in the chair next to her bed.

Okay, so he obviously didn't get the hint that she was tired and wanted to sleep. Olivia let out a deep sigh and painfully adjusted herself in the bed. "I do remember you. I remember we went on a date but obviously we were not compatible because you and Natalie are together now. You have a daughter named Avery, who I am told I adore." Liv remembered Happy's words to her. "And you live in the house I grew up in. The house my parents built." Bitterness filled her words.

Juice's sad eyes searched Liv's. She felt naked under his gaze which made her even more unnerved. His eyes reflected pain and maybe some regret. He was about to open his mouth and say something but Liv held up her hand to stop him. She didn't have it in her to deal with anything else at that moment. She just wanted some god damn sleep.

"Listen, I am not trying to be mean but I really just want to sleep. I am exhausted." She gave Juan, a small smile. "I would really appreciate it if we could visit another time."

He stood up and nodded, "It's understandable with the baby and everything that has happened to you. When Nat was first pregnant she wanted to sleep all the time."

Panic struck Olivia deeply as Juice started away towards the door. Her heart monitors were beeping faster with each passing second. "Wait…what? Baby? I don't…" She began to freak out. Pregnant? She couldn't be, how could that happen she only remember being with Matt. How was she supposed to have a baby that she couldn't even remember it?

A nurse rushed in to the room and tried to calm Liv down. "Olivia, you need to calm down! It's not good for you to be this worked up." The brown-haired nurse glared at Juice, who just stood there dumbfounded. "What did you do?"

"I just mentioned the baby." Juice said as he turned to walk out and walked directly into Happy. "Fuck." He muttered under his breath.

"Come on, Olivia. Focus." The nurse tried to get her to calm down but she couldn't focus. Soon loud sobs escaped her lips and tears began to fall uncontrollably.

"You and I will have a chat later, Ortiz." Happy growled before making his way to Liv's side. "Olivia Grace look at me." He demanded of her.

Happy's voice called to Liv between her sobs. "Ha…pp…py." She tried to control the intense panic she was feeling. In her whole life Liv had never had a panic attack but she imagined that was what it felt like. The world was beginning to collapse on her.

"Yeah, I am here. Can you look at me?" Happy said gently as he sat on Liv's bed next to her.

Liv tried to focus on Happy but she couldn't. "I…can't." Bile rose and burned the back of her throat. "I think I am going to be sick." She blurted out just in time for Happy to grab the garbage for her. The content of Liv's stomach made a reappearance and she continued to retch until she had nothing left in her stomach. It wasn't until she finally stopped vomiting, did she realize Happy was rubbing her back. It was such a soothing feeling. Slowly but surely her body felt like it was relaxing and she melted back into the bed.

"Better?" Happy asked as placed the garbage can on the floor next to the chair and made his way back to the bed next to Liv.

Olivia just nodded in response. Her stomach still felt queasy and she was afraid if she spoke she would puke again. Happy's presence made her feel safe. She liked that she could just sit with him in a comfortable silence; and so far, he didn't expect anything from her. She appreciated that more than he could even know.

It was Liv, who finally broke the silence between them. "Happy, who is the father?"

Happy frowned, "Is that what happened? Did he tell you that you were pregnant?" Liv was sure she heard him say, fucking Ortiz is going to pay, under his breath.

"I don't think he meant to. He really makes me uncomfortable and I don't understand why. We had such a great date." Liv stated. "Wait, you didn't answer my question." Was Happy trying to change the subject on her? Was he avoiding her question? If he was, why? Maybe she never wanted the baby to begin with. Questions and scenarios ran through her head at lightning speed.

Happy rose from the bed and pulled an envelope out of an inside pocket of his cut and handed it to Liv. She gave him a quizzical look before opening the it. In it there were black and white photos of a sonogram. "Our baby." His voice faultered a bit.

Liv stared at the pictures of the little blob. "Our baby." She ran her hand across the ultrasound photo before looking up at Happy. "Is it okay? Did I want it?" Tears blurring her vision, hoping that the answer was what she wanted to hear.

Happy smiled and sat down next to Liv again. "The baby is a fighter, just like its mom. And we both wanted this baby very much."

"Then why didn't you tell me about it before? What if I had a drink?" Her question was earnest.

Happy chuckled, "Last time I checked, they do not serve liquor in hospitals." Liv gave him a sideways glance but waited for her first question to be answered. "As for why I didn't tell you. Liv, you just found out you were shot, you have amnesia and can't remember the last three years of your life. You didn't need another stressor added into your life."

Another stressor, Liv thought to herself but then she thought about how she reacted when she found out. She probably would have reacted the same way if she had heard it from Happy. She trusted he withheld the information from her for her own good. "Okay, I'll give that to you. I didn't really react like a happy mother, did I?" A yawn betrayed Liv.

"You really should get some rest. I will make sure no one comes in and bothers you for the rest of the afternoon. When you are ready, you have a few people who haven't visited you yet that would like to." Happy stood up.

Liv gathered up the photos of the baby and placed them back in the envelope. She started to hand them to Happy. He gave her a confused look.

"Do you not want them?" His brow knit together as he looked down at Liv.

"I didn't realize I could keep them." Olivia pulled her hand back quickly and held the photos close to her heart. She couldn't remember the baby but, she was damn well sure that she wanted it. Deep in her heart she knew it. "Thank you." It was always the heart that remembered even when the mind couldn't.

Happy nodded and gave Liv's hand a gentle squeeze. "Now get some rest. You need it to get better."

Liv shook her head in agreement. It wasn't just her anymore, it was strange how moments before she was just thinking of herself; now she had a growing baby inside of her to think about. As scary as it seemed, she had inkling that everything would be alright in the end. Even if she didn't remember her time with Happy before she woke up, at least she like him now. She could see her future with him and their baby. Their baby…her hand instinctually moved to her abdomen and rubbed.

"It's okay little one, I will keep you safe." Instantly a foreboding feeling washed over Liv. She needed to remember…remember, she willed her brain to remember. There was nothing. Absolutely nothing! She let out a deep, frustrated sigh before pulling the picture of the baby out of the envelope. Liv fell asleep looking at the photos of the ultrasound, thinking that the menacing feeling she felt was just a bit of her panic attack showing its ugly face again. For now she was safe.

A/N: Next chapter is already started. You know that Happy is going to let Juice get away with telling Liv about the baby. Well at least that cat is out of the bag. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Until next time cheers!
