What's this? Another chapter? That's three chapters in two days! Bruh I'm on a roll! For whatever reason I've been able to crank out another chapter (Not that I'm complaining, considering it takes me months at a time to update). Maybe all of this inspiration is a sign that I'll be updating more? Who knows?

"We need to take her to the hospital," Raven heard Steve say, and immediately began to panic.

"No!" She screamed, jumping out of the bed and attempting to run to the door. Unfortunately due to her injuries, she didn't make it very far before she collapsed.

"Raven," Gar gasped, coming to her aid.

"Raven you've a sprained ankle, more cuts and bruises than possible to count, and to top it all off you can't remember a thing! It would be completely irresponsible not to take you to the hospital," Steve reasoned.

Raven knew going to the hospital was out of the question. It would be impossible to keep her secret, signs of abuse were evident all over her body. Just as Raven was about to protest more, she fell back into Gar's arms, a violent stream of memories pouring into her mind

Raven went to return to her room, but as she walked past her living room neither her father nor Slade was there. She shrugged it off, and continued up to her room only too gasp at the figure sitting on her bed.

Slade smiled at ther surprise and said, "Your father is settling some business in Gotham for the next few days. But he didn't want to just leave you alone, so I volunteered to keep a very watchful eye on you while he was away" The sinister tone on his voice only intensified, "you and me are gonna have a whole lot of fun for the next few days."

"Raven are you alright?" Gar asked, concern clear in his voice.

"Yeah, just a little dizzy," Raven replied, her voice raspy

"Maybe it would be best if Raven got a little more rest," Rita suggested, not wanting to upset Raven even more.

Defeated, Gar helped Raven to the guest bed and sat on a chair he had set next to it. Rita and Steve, seeing this as their cue to leave, exited the room quietly and shut the door behind them

Gar made a metal note to thank them later. "Rae, what's the last thing you remember?"

"Well, I kissed you," Raven started, bringing a flush of crimson to Gar's cheeks. "I felt sick the next morning, so I didn't go to school. I remember feeling confused that my dad was downstairs when I got up." Raven specifically left out the part when Trigon abused and raped her.

Normally after one of his episodes, he got shit faced drunk and passed out for at least a day. But no, here he was on the couch talking with someone. Raven started to go back up the steps, but her dad stopped her.

"Raven dear, I was wondering when you'd get your lazy butt out of bed, come on down here, there's someone I want you to meet. Raven slowly followed his command, limping slightly with each step.

Sitting across from Trigon was a devilish looking man with an eyepatch, who didn't even bother trying to hide giving her a once over. Once he reached her eyes, a mischievous glint shone in his own.

"Raven, this is Slade, my newest business partner" Trigon said, looking at his daughter expectantly.

"My dad had a business partner over," Raven continued, "Slade"

Gar listened attentively as Raven recounted what happened. "What happened with Slade?" he asked, putting a hand over hers.

A single tear fell from Raven's eye as she answered, "My, uh, father had to go out on business for the next few days, so Slade volunteered to say with me."

With Raven's pause, Gar assumed the worst, "Did he do this to you?"

Raven's head began to ache as another memory found its way to the light.

Raven backed up into the wall at Slade's sinister comment. She quickly contemplated the chances of escaping, but no statistics could have predicted Slade lunging at the violet haired girl.

Wasting no time, Slade pushed Raven to her bed, holding her shoulders tight to the bed. Raven tried to push him off of her, but her legs weren't strong enough. All of her attempts were for not, for all they did was make Slade fight harder.

The next time Raven opened her eyes she was naked at the bottom of the stair case, fresh bruises already forming on her skin. Through the pain, Raven strained her neck to see the clock on the wall.

12:00

It was far too late in the school day to even bother showing up, not that Raven had the slightest enough energy to even think about going. Raven heard footsteps coming from upstairs, and braced herself for what was sure to come.

"Oh Raven Dear," Slade called walking down towards his prey. "Your hair is a mess! But no worries, I've a shower waiting for us upstairs"

"He attacked me" Raven knew she couldn't tell Garfield the entire story. He'd want her to go to the hospital, which she already made clear wasn't going to happen. And, he'd ask too many questions, so she kept it simple and vague, hoping he wouldn't dig too much deeper.

Gar's face had turned to the most serious it's been in a long time. Rage filled him, how dare someone hurt his Raven. Gar wanted to storm over to the bastard and wring his neck. These thoughts began to consume him, and it did not go unnoticed by Raven.

"Gar," she said, her voice soft, "It's okay, I'm still here,"

Gar looked up sharply, "No, Raven, it's not okay! Some monster decides to use you as a punching bag and you refuse to go to the hospital! I can't let anything happen to you,"

Raven couldn't help but find Gar's reaction endearing. Had she not been in immense amounts of pain, Raven probably would have kissed him. It shocked her how easily the thought came into her mind. Before this little twerp, the thought of kissing anyone was far from Raven's mind. Now all she wanted to do was run her hands through his sandy blond and green hair. She wanted to fall asleep next to him and bury her head in his chest, just to breathe him all in.

"Could you… lay in bed with me?" Raven asked, stunned she had the confidence to do so. Her confidence only increased when she saw Gar's cheeks turn a deep red.

"Wh-why?" Gar stuttered, not sure if he heard her correctly, or if it were some kind of cruel joke.

Now it was Raven's turn to blush as she answered shyly, "You help keep the nightmares away."

Gar's eyes widened considerably, though he needn't hear her ask again as he slipped into the bed next to her. He put an arm over the pale beauty next to him, and tried to repress a gasp as she fell deeper into his embrace, placing her head in the crook of his neck. He listened to her breathes start to slow, and he too fell asleep to the beat of her heart.

Steve had a lot of respect for the girl his adoptive son was currently sharing a bed with. He wasn't naïve, he could tell there was something more than platonic going on between the two teenagers, but he was finding less and less reasons to care.

Raven's reaction to his outburst at dinner a few nights ago opened his eyes considerably, and he wasn't going to sit around and do nothing about it.

Steve had heard things about Trigon Roth's multimillion cooperation, and all of them were bone chilling. They involved Trigon as a ruthless killer, willing to do anything for the sake of his company, so Steve couldn't imagine what being his daughter must be like.

Before when he looked at Raven he saw her as nothing more than worthless street trash, but now, he looked and saw a girl far stronger than anyone could hope to become. He now saw the way his son looked at her, and he understood. But he knew Raven did not need saving. She didn't need a knight in shining armor. What she needed was for someone to believe, someone to give her hope. And that someone just so happened to be his son.
