So you're all probably wondering where the heck the new chapters I promised are. The honest answer: It's a Golgom plot and its all Decade's fault.

Okay my terrible attempt at humour aside here.

I never wanted to do this kind of update in my stories but this is long over due.
First I promised to keep semi-regular updates but none came mostly because real life stuff got in the way and I missed a lot of the deadlines I set for myself plus I kind of hit some burn out.

Yeah my same old excuse rears its ugly head I won't drag that out but there are a few other reasons as well. Before all that though DENO is not cancelled I've planned out the basic storyline, I've been keeping story notes and I've more or less memorized certain plot points and details. Frankly I've put too much thought into it to just give up on it and I don't want to.

I haven't been totally neglecting my stories. I've re read the published chapters fixing mistakes I could find and ideas that I dropped I may also rewrite some chapters as now I'm not to fond of how some turned out. So no not cancelled but on hiatus for an overhaul has been for a while but I'm only now getting off my lazy rear to say it.

One major problem I discovered for the time set at Beacon was after the teams got formed. While I planned out some major plot points involving the Kamen Rider characters and I had rough ideas on how the incorporate them into the RWBY plot I hadn't really fleshed out my plans for the filler and in between chapters I talked about, I had basic ideas for the characters and what was going on but I didn't really plan out what the Imagin of the week would be up to which presented some problems.

But the one that has effected my motivation to write this is RWBY itself. For one thing RWBY recently has lost a lot of its appeal to me the last episode of the main show I watched was just before the halfway point of volume 5 and at the time I'm writing this update Volume 6 is just wrapping up or maybe it had its finale I don't know that's how out of the loop I am with the show. I just don't get the same joy out of watching the more recent volumes as I did when I was watching 1-3 it just doesn't feel like the same show honestly in my opinion it doesn't even feel like it's the natural continuation.

Not that stuff that Rooster Teeth has been putting out doesn't have some good quality I just don't enjoy it as much. If anything the newer series has the opposite effect on me I find it kind of bleak I mean I know the stakes were raised after End of the Beginning but still. I'm actually more up to date on RWBY Chibi a fact that disappoints myself and a certain open letter didn't help my view going into the new episodes.

It's not that I've stopped liking the show all together though. I pre ordered Team CFVY's upcoming solo book, I've created two OC teams that I may or may not give their own stories and I do plan to catch up on the series however the way it's going at one point I won't be surprised if I just stop watching the newer stuff and just keep to the older episodes.

But as I said I think the newer stuff does have some good elements. While I did pre plan a lot of DENO's story before Vol 4 was released, and needless to say I'm going AU post volume 3, I'm planning on adding some of those elements and characters into the story though I might give a very different spin of them to how the show has portrayed them. I won't list them here but I will talk bout them in the authour's notes if and when it becomes relevant.

So yeah I'm sorry I didn't do this sooner. I'll delete this at some point but hopefully it won't be another year before you guys see the next new chapter but I won't promise anything especially given the last time I did.
