~Happy reading!
Percy
"Percy! Percy, wake up!"
The pounding at the door seemed to grow louder and louder with every knock. Percy could barely process what was happening. It sure scared him awake, though. He bolted awake while still holding Annabeth in his arms. She woke up absolutely terrified.
"What's happening? What's the attack?!" She tried reaching around for her dagger.
"We're fine, we're fine," He reassured her in a soothing voice despite the fact he's got no clue what's going on either. "I think someone's knock-"
"PERCY! Please! You gotta wake up!" The voice continues to shout.
Having enough of this insanity, Percy ripped the sheets off of him, swinging his bare onto the cabin floor. He swung open the door. Insert the Chinese, not-so-baby, Canadian Man. "How can I help you, Frank? Also, why did you wake me up so freaking early?" Annabeth soon joined Percy at the door, resting a hand on her hip out of annoyance.
Frank's face flushed into a beet red from embarrassment. Percy realized this was the second time he's caught them sleeping together. "Why is it always me that catches you two sleeping together?"
"Frank," Percy put his hands out in annoyance. It was way too early for that conversation and he needed his friend to focus. "What's the news?"
"Mysterious flying object in the sky," Frank huffed. "Could be aliens, could be Gods, but it's too far away for us to see. The rest of us are trying to get a good look at it right now."
Percy mumbled an okay, rushing off with Annabeth to go get ready for the day and to meet their friends just on the edge of the North Woods. Percy took hold of Annabeth's hand and they jogged over to their friends where they were clustered together, staring straight up into the sky. Percy could make out a small, grey or black object slowly heading in their direction, but he could only see it if he squinted. The remaining seven, alongside Reyna, Nico, and Will were all mumbling to one another, wondering what in the world it was.
"Any idea what it is?" Percy asked Jason. Jason mumbled a few sounds, not really being able to form together words - let alone a set answer.
"You know, not at all." He just wrapped his arm around Piper, pulling her close to him.
"All we know is that's just getting closer and closer," Piper finished for him.
Percy squinted once more, taking note that the object was picking up speed. He could see how much larger the mystery thing was versus the first time he saw it, and from what he can tell, it was getting closer, and closer, and closer, and-
"It's coming towards us! Everyone, run away from the woods!" Reyna screamed at everyone. She spread her arms out wide, beginning to push her friends away from the scene. Percy grabbed Annabeth by the wrist and the two began sprinting back towards the cabins. He watched all of his friends to do the same. How many times can one camp get destroyed?
The gang tucked themselves behind Zeus's Fist, grabbing and holding each other, protecting one another just as a family should. None of them dared to look beyond the cluster of rocks and prayed to the Gods no one was going to get hurt from this.
Suddenly the Earth shook madly, vibrating so hard that even in a seated position, all eight demigods were nearly knocked onto the ground. Percy protectively wrapped his arms around Annabeth, tucking her head into his chest. There's no way he's letting this unexpected comet hurt her. A wave of heat flooded over the camp as well, like a sonic boom but the sound wave was smoke.
Reyna was the first to have the courage to look up. She tapped Nico on the head, which he didn't enjoy, and called him to take a look too.
"The woods are on fire, lovely," Nico mumbled. Nico then tapped Will on the head to join them.
"We have to go see if anyone's hurt!" Will added, gripping his emergency, first-aid kit tightly. Frank and Hazel were next to pop up.
"Where did that even come from?" Hazel scrunched her nose, fanning the smoke away from her face. Frank was in way too much shock to say a word.
"We gotta go look," Jason suggested as he and Piper also made their way from the ground up. "We've gotta keep other campers away from the site, too. It's too dangerous."
"I'll let them all know to stay back," Piper said firmly.
"We should head over right now, then," Annabeth began walking towards the scene, the rest following behind her. Together, they ran to the other side of the woods.
The crew was met with a wall of fire, unable to see what the dark mass was in the center. Percy tapped Jason on the shoulder. "Jason, let's go." The two ran closer to the firewall, while the others' survival instincts kicked in, not letting anyone get closer. Piper was commanding the other half-bloods to not take a step closer and everyone created a large barrier. Meanwhile, Jason hooked his arms under Percy's, taking him into the air. Percy somehow managed to gather large pods of water over the fire, slowly putting it out.
The fire began to die down and slowly. Hazel began shuffling dirt onto the remaining flames, putting the fire out for good right as Percy and Jason returned back to the ground. Copious amounts of metal sat where the fires had burned, and in the middle were two figures huddled against each other, lying on the burnt grass.
Everyone just stared at the scene in disbelief. Hazel covered her mouth with her hands in shock, Frank was grasping her shoulders. Reyna continued to hold her sword in a defensive position while Will hid behind Nico. Piper attempted to form words while Jason also held her close. Percy and Annabeth took a step closer.
The latino elf shook the ash out of his hair, using the little strength he had left to sit up. Underneath him was another girl, her hair also covered in ash but looked overall unharmed. Leo coughed harshly to rid the smoke in his lungs. Rubbing his eyes with his gloved hands then running his hands through his hair.
Percy couldn't believe what he was seeing. He knew exactly who they were. "Leo! Calypso!"
Piper gasped when she realized what she was seeing. "Leo?!"
Leo pushed himself onto his feet, helping Calypso as well. He turned around to grin widely at his friends. He waved shyly. "Hi everyone."
Piper yelped in happiness, darting towards him as fast as her legs would take her. She leaped into him, holding him tight. Jason soon followed, tears of disbelief running down his face. "You're alive! You're alive! Thank gods, you're alive!" Piper kept repeating. She buried her face into Leo's neck while Jason wrapped his arms around them. The rest of the crew followed in the group hug, eager to see their friend again.
"You're alive!" Frank exclaimed. "You're actually okay!"
Leo just chuckled. He was getting embarrassed with all the attention. "Yeah, I'm okay."
The demigods were all laughing, crying, and smiling in total disbelief. They never thought this day would come. It was such a pleasant surprise, and no one could contain their excitement and happiness that they were all together again.
Leo began attempting to wiggle out of the hugs and when he did, he walked back to Calypso's side. He took her hand, lacing their fingers together. "Everyone, there's someone I'd like you to meet. This is Calypso. Calypso, these are my friends."
Percy saw Annabeth's eyebrow rise up, then she turned to give him a smirk. Percy chuckled in response, wrapping his arm around her waist and pressed a kiss to her temple. Percy was totally over her.
Calypso bowed her head, then looked right at Percy. "Lovely to see you again, Perseus." Percy raised his eyebrows quickly in response. "It's also great to meet all of you. Leo has talked much about you all."
"We're glad to meet you too, Calypso." Jason beamed and gave Leo a quick wink. He knew he was gonna have to interrogate Leo later.
"I'm just so happy to be home. I'm sorry for what I did, I-I-I…" Leo began choking up, trying to cover his face with his hands. "I feel so guilty. I-"
"You're here now, and we're so proud of your bravery." Piper grabbed Leo and pulled him close. "We forgive you. We're happy you're home, too."
The group hug reformed, with the demigods piling back on in the same exact order as the first one. Percy laughed in amazement. At that moment, nothing could be better. His friend was back, the whole gang was reunited, and together, they saved the world. They were all so happy. He was happy.
"Welcome home," Percy chuckled. Being home has never felt better.
I knowww the Heroes of Olympus series ended like 5 years ago (?!) and things worked their own ways in the Trials of Apollo universe but! I thought I'd still at least give my two cents to my own interpretation of Blood of Olympus. I'm so happy to have finished this story! Thank you to those who have stuck around since it's original release and to those who recently found this story, right on! Thank you for reading my story!
So aside from feeling super old, I just wanted to say thank you again for reading this story and I hope it was a fun one! I still love this series a ton, even if I am super old, and hopefully, this helped you reminisce back to the days when we were all sad about the Heroes of Olympus series ending :') Thank you again!
