Previously:

A certain individual stepped out of the darkness just before Vegetto revealing himself to be somewhat pudgy but adult-like Namekian. "Please calm down – we mean no harm."

While Vegetto made no movement of compliance, Bulma on the other hand finally found herself reveling in the turn of events. She was practically jumping in glee.

Finally friendly people!

Chapter 11: Confessions

Namekians underground!

To Bulma none of this came off as strange. It all just made perfect sense considering the dangers she had seen and experienced lurking from above...It would be silly for the Namekians to not take shelter underground. Bulma felt herself laughing in pure bliss. Finding the dragon-balls with the Namekian's help should be much easier now. That of course along with the dragon-ball radar.

It was then that Bulma's eyes widened.

The Dragon ball Radar.

She immediately groaned in frustration as she slapped her right hand to her face.

It was back on the ship.

The one that just exploded moments ago.

Bulma fell to the floor on defeat whilst slamming her right fist to the ground in a pool of invisible tears. Why couldn't anything go her way?

The Namekian however found Bulma's actions to be quite amusing. He assumed that it was perhaps some form of peace-offering dance as he had no knowledge of these individuals customs. He had heard there were bizarre lifeforms other then their own from the council elders. So in response he positioned himself to make a gesture to call his comrades out of the shadows but then paused when the other one was still in a very defensive stance. This particular individual's power level completely outmatched all of his comrades combined. The situation itself was making him more and more nervous as time continued to tick right on by.

"You have something of mine." Vegetto gritted out dangerously, his practically voice dripping with venom as he slid into a fighting stance. "If you force my hand, you'll surely regret it."

The Namekian jumped a bit, but swallowed, examining the aliens words carefully. It was then that a sudden thunderstruck moment occurred and with now similar narrowed eyes that very Namekian slid into a defensive stance.

His death foreshadowed in the back of his mind but the Namekian's lips would not show a quiver. If this alien wasn't going to back down, he would fight, even if he would perish as a consequence. At least his brothers would out number him, and there was just no way the man would be stupid enough to fire a ki blast under such conditions. If he did the Namekian then would truly pity his female companion aside. She did not appear the type that could survive such a cave-in.

Yes, they could win if his calculations were accurate.

A warning was all that was needed, before they attacked.

"The Dragon balls are not yours to take." The Namekian spat out preparing to launch an all out attack. "They have been entrusted to-"

"I couldn't give a damn about the dragon balls." Vegetto countered silencing the Namekian and startling him at the same time. It was in this time that Bulma had some how managed to pull herself together and find herself back on her feet. She was currently peering over Vegetto's shoulder out of curiosity.

"Did he just say-"

"Shut it." Vegetto boomed whilst sending Bulma a dark glare completely shutting down Bulma's question before it had any chance of coming into light. Bulma took a hesitant step back and looked down at the floor in silence. For whatever reason Vegetto was pissed and Bulma didn't want to be on the receiving end of it. She pleaded inwardly for him to look away and sure enough – he did – reeling his amber gaze back toward his true threat at hand. "My son." Vegetto finally announced his true frustrations.

"Son?" The Namekian questioned slowly, the request starting to sink in. It was soon that the Namekian's eyes darted over to Bulma. "Are you the one who is called Bu-loo-ma?"

Bulma's eyes rose in an instant. She knew that the days of Namekians playing golf outside her house would surely come in handy. She met the pudgy Namekian with a small smile.

"Bulma," She corrected and continue smiling. "World renown genius and also responsible for tending to your people when they needed assistance back on Earth." The Namekian almost instantly dropped his stance, and quickly bowed.

"My name is Lusc," He introduced, as he continued to dart eyes at Vegetto cautiously, "I am in charge of watching outside the gate and making sure utmost peace is held. If dangerous enemies do find out about our hideaway it is up to my troop and I to finish them before they get wind of our solitude."

Bulma pressed her right hand up to her chin and tilted her head as if she was thinking. It made her wonder how many lives were lost under the new terror above. King-Colds henchmen were up to no good and even out matched, at least down here with the water way as a threat – they would have some sort of upper hand.

Her thoughts slid over to Vegetto whom she realized the Namekian was still eying out of caution. Bulma sighed, dropping her hand from her chin and made a fashionable like gesture as a sort of way to introducing the angry Saiyan. "This is my h-husband Vegetto. He comes in peace, for the most part anyways."

"I see." Lusc responded dully, and Bulma swore she saw Lusc's mouth twitch in anger before drooping into a soft smile. "Pleased to meet you." Vegetto merely grunted, and Bulma groaned. This is not how she pictured her reunion to be with the Namekians. She expected something a bit more upbeat then a grumpy Saiyan besides her. "You must come with me at once as the village elders would be pleased to know you have come to aid us once again."

Bulma could only nod, and smile. Although they really had not intended to come out and help anyone, it looked like fate was thrusting them into another battle once again. At least with Vegetto around, she felt somewhat safe. Something she never expected to feel next to Vegeta on the battle field.

Come to think of it Vegeta would never let anyone see his feelings for her. The Prince of all Saiyans was too good for that. Too "strong" to let love get the best of him. For a moment Bulma caught herself wondering if Vegeta really would let her die on the battlefield to keep up appearances. Had Mirai Trunks not returned, would she be dead right now? Bulma shivered, desperately trying to push the thought out of her brain. Vegeta had changed.

Changed during the Buu fight. He wasn't that man anymore. He even asked Trunks to protect her. Besides, if she needed that second opinion she could always ask...

Vegetto... Her brain whispered, and the blunette quickly shook her head. That was out of the question, she would wait for the dragon balls. They were the only answer she needed.

Unless of course Vegeta would lie to her...

"Trunks." Vegetto's voice thundered once more causing Bulma frown to deepen. What kind of mother had she become? Always worrying about her husband, when her son was a few feet away in need of her care...She desperately hoped he was okay. She hoped she could count on Vegetto for the truth. Bulma really didn't want to hate Vegetto. A part of her enjoyed liked his closeness. It helped her counteract the mourning soul buried deep within.

"The boy is resting," Lusc informed Vegetto briskly, his attention now settling on the bluenette, whom seemed to be battling her own inner demons. "Bulma," He called, making the woman snap back into reality, her frown hiding away into a bitter smile. "We had felt the enemies ki disappear so we sent a scouting crew to search out the truth. What they discovered was your son, bloodied and battered. They brought him back and the elders immediately recognized him as your kin as he continuously called out your name. We healed him, but he refuses to speak with anyone."

"Stubborn," Bulma grumbled, "Just like his father."

"I ask however your company stay behind-"

"Not going to happen," Vegetto interjected, startling Bulma once again. She had gotten used to his calmer demeanor, and now she was starting to hear his scarier side. "You already have one of them. You aren't allowed to have them both. Not under my watch."

Bulma's nose squishes at this, and glances at the Saiyan. Why was he being so hostile? He should know these are the good guys. Not a threat, hurry up and power down.

"It's alright. I can handle this."Bulma told him, and when Vegetto's eyes met hers again she found herself swallowing. He looked so annoyed! Those metallic green eyes glaring fiercely at her. She understood his glare though. Perhaps through the bound, or a sense of just knowing...Vegetto had known they weren't a threat.

She had started to taking in his features too, something she had been avoiding since he yelled at her. His energy level had dropped significantly – Bulma could make this assumption simply by the way the lightning effects were no longer visible. His hair although still gold, was way less wavy, and the room itself had gotten a lot more dimmer than she remembered.

Luckily with her Saiyan flashlight at her side she could still see Lusc completely, and even the shadows of some of his hidden friends. But without Vegetto nearby well...

Bulma's stomach churned at the thought.

Lusc seemed to sense her nervousness because he quickly rebounded from Vegetto's threats.

"The path is not very far. I promise you that my people will keep you safe.
"

"Why is it that Vegetto can't come again?" Bulma asked, twiddling her thumbs. She was terrified of the dark, and even surrounded by friends, she had to have some source of light.

It was then a dark cloud rose over the Namekian's eyes. His mouth twitched in a snarl, but Lusc managed to keep his cool, that moment passing over him as a fleeting bad memory.

"He bares a striking resemblance to the man who murdered countless of our clans. I don't want to see the horror etched on anyone's face upon seeing his return. Please heed this request. My people have suffered enough."

"I am not Vegeta." Vegetto snipped.

"While you are not, you still must bare his punishment, because he is apart of you now. He is not welcomed here, and neither are you."

"What about Goku?" Bulma asked feeling the tension ripple between the two. She noticed a a dim glow appear around the outlines of Vegetto's body. The Saiyan was prepared to fight for his entry way. "Goku defeated-"

"It doesn't matter." Vegetto commented, earning a brow raise. "Goku still didn't strike Freeza down when he should have. He let peace-offering cloud his judgment and because of this, Freeza attacked the planet as a whole. Goku sacrificed the planet due to his misjudgment. Had it not been for the dragon-balls, everyone would have died. Even you."

Vegetto then had approached her, a gesture she had not prepared for. She had already been shut down twice by this man. Something she wasn't used to. He always let her step all over him.

The silence he now offered was itself a heavy burden on her shoulders.

She hadn't known of Goku's mistake.

Had she known she would not have said anything. But Goku was an enigma to her. After all she wasn't married to him, and didn't expect to be confided with such secrets. Goku was always the hero, always doing what was best.

'Always so innocent.'

Tears formed in her orbs, she glanced up at Vegetto wordlessly. He stood before her, a golden blessing, and comforted her. He brought her to him, hugging her close, as she wailed into his chest.

'Goku...'

While she would not admit it. A part of her always wanted to stand by his side once more. Partners in crime, him a Super Saiyan bad-ass, and her a gun totting genius. Those bad guys guys would never stand a chance. Especially with Goku around.

Bulma choked a laughter in her blubbering tears. She found herself looking at Vegetto with a soft look. He met hers with a warming smile. Bulma laughed again, smiling too as she found herself pulling back, but not completely away. Her hands now outstretched, reaching out to hold his cheeks. A deep bliss clouding her senses.

'Please,' she called out in the depths of her mind. Reaching out to Vegetto's bond with sincerity. He lifted his brow, at the sense of her urgency. 'Please let this reach him.'

In that moment, Bulma became a ballerina, tiptoeing her way closer to his lips with close lids.

When their lips touched, a quiet confession snaked its way into Vegetto's mind.

'Goku, I love you.'

The kiss was a quick one, but Bulma mustered everything she had ever felt for Goku into it.

Tears even began to run down Bulma's cheeks as she parted from the Saiyan, her vision clouded with blurring past memories. Vegetto eye's were wide she knew embarrassment flooding through out her body. She didn't know what over came her, perhaps hoping that once they were split again – the two Saiyans wouldn't remember her interactions with Vegetto. That her secrets could be safe with this man.

"Bulma," Vegetto rasped out but Bulma wouldn't dare to look at him, afraid to hear his response. She slowly moved away from the sputtering Saiyan and marched up to the blushing Namekian.

"Go speak with you elders. Inform them that I have no desire to enter without my husbands presence besides me. If you have to make it so everyone in the village is moved somewhere else for their comfort, then do so. There's a much bigger crisis at hand, and to let past misfortunes get in the way will jeopardize everything. Please reconsider or see this planet doomed like the last."

With this Lusc nodded upon seeing Bulma's own steely orbs. In an instant the Namekian disappeared and the other shadows disappeared too. Bulma let out a sigh, and the froze in realization upon noting the fact that the two of them were left alone again. She shakily turned toward Vegetto who was now scratching his chin, looking directly at her with curiosity.

Bulma groaned when he wouldn't say anything. She expected him to poke fun at her or something but instead he just stared at her.

'Ugh,' She thought as she rolled her eyes.

This was going to be the longest minute of her lifetime and all she could do was sit down on a rock, and try her best to avoid his musing gaze.

'The dragon balls.' Her brain whispered as if to help her remain calm. 'The dragon balls would surely stop this permanent problem.'
