Silent Love
By Roziel Asanagi
Prologue
Ike woke up at a quarter past five, it was morning and too early for him. He was still a bit groggy and not quite ready to get out of bed as he gazed up at the ceiling thinking about all the stuff he had to do that day. Though his classes were the following week, he still wanted to get ready for them early. Ike turned his head to the side to look out the window, when a sudden pounding came from his bedroom door, 'most likely Roy,' Ike thought.
"Ike, Ike, get your lazy ass outta bed, it's after five and I'm hungry!" Roy yelled through the door sounding very excited. More pounding that Ike tried to ignore, "Ike, if you don't get outta bed right now I'm gonna break this door down!"
Sad thing was Ike was pretty sure that Roy would break down the door in his current state of excitement, "And are you gonna pay for the door that you would break?" Ike was now irritated at Roy for banging on his door this early in the morning.
"Of course not!" Roy said promptly and proudly, his pounding on the door finally stopping.
Ike sighed, "Then I suggest you don't, as impatient as you are, can you at least give me some peace and quiet in the mornings?" Ike now rolled over in his bed to try and get up, but his body still refused him.
"Nope, not when I'm hungry." Roy said stubbornly.
Ike finally sat up, now thoroughly annoyed with Roy, "Fine, can you at least give me a minute then?"
"Sure thing, as long as you hurry." Roy being as impatient as ever.
Ike sighed as he felt that Roy had missed his point all together, though with that he got up out of bed and got dressed. As he was getting ready, Ike had to ponder the fact of why he had ever befriended Roy in the first place, and why he had retained him as a friend for so long. With a final shrug, he went to the door and opened it to see a mop of messy red hair attached to the enthusiastic individual known as Roy.
Roy with his hand on his hip and tapping his foot impatiently looked at Ike with a big smile, "'Bout time you got up, I'm dying of hunger out here!"
Ike rolled his eyes sarcastically, "You'll live." He pushed past Roy and headed to the kitchen to make breakfast, Roy, on the other hand, went to the couch in the living room where the sleeping form of Pit lay. A smirk appeared on Roy's face as he climbed up and straddled Pit. Ike had seen that smirk before and he knew what was to come, he had been a victim of Roy's mischievous ways too many times in the past not to.
Roy smirked again, this time even bigger, and then leaned down and whispered seductively in Pit's ear, "Wake up my darling little angel." Roy kissed Pit on the lips with such fake passion Ike questioned whether Pit would even care. In the midst of the kiss Pit woke up, his eyes instantly got wide with shock and he quickly threw Roy to the floor.
"What the hell!?" Pit yelled, now upright on the couch, "You kissed me!"
Roy grabbed Pit's arm and yanked him to the floor, "Serves you right for sleeping in this late," unfortunately for Roy, when he pulled Pit to the ground, Pit came down on top of him. "Ouch!"
Pit lifted himself up from the floor, "Serves you right."
"For what?" Roy now trying to get up amongst the tangled mess that was Pit and himself.
Pit got up from the floor, though not without his fair share of difficulty from Roy squirming so much, "For throwing me on the floor, duh. Besides you started it."
Roy finally picked himself up, "Yeah well, anyway lame brain Ike is making breakfast so get ready." Roy walked from the living room to the kitchen table and sat down and waited as patiently as he could for Ike to finish cooking breakfast. Sadly his impatience got the better of him and he asked, "What's for breakfast?"
"You'll find out." Ike said without looking at Roy and in an almost monotone voice. Pit came in soon after and sat down, he looked at Roy with a look that said, 'you're gonna regret what you did to me.' Ike finished making breakfast and laid it out on the table, they all began to eat and enjoy a bit of small talk as they did.
"So what do you guys have planned for the day?" Pit said, grogginess still somewhat present in his face.
"Only Ike knows, he's the planner," Roy stated matter of factly with a mouth full of food.
Ike closed his eyes and shook his head, "Though I appreciate the compliment, I would prefer that you speak without food in your mouth Roy."
"No thank you Ike, I'm too hungry to care about little things like that," Roy said sarcastically and laughed.
Ike sighed again, "Whatever, anyway, Pit to answer your question, Roy and I have to go to the college bookstore to get our books for classes. By the way, don't you start your freshman year of college next week?"
Pit swallowed the remaining food in his mouth before answering, "Yes I do, just like Roy. May I come with you guys to get my books too?"
"Of course you can," Ike said with a smile.
Pit smiled back, "Thank you Ike."
"This is gonna be awesome, I can bug Pit even more hehe," Roy smirked mischievously.
Ike gave Roy a look that rivaled that of annoyed mothers, "Roy leave Pit alone, you've tortured him enough this morning."
"Awe, you're no fun Ike," Roy pouted, apparently oblivious to the look Ike had given him.
"You're right, I'm not when it comes to you." Ike got up from the table and put his plate in the sink and headed to his room to finish getting ready.
"Umm I guess after we're done eating we should get ready and go too huh?" Pit looked questionly at Roy as he was getting up to put his plate in the sink as well.
Roy got up and followed Pit to the sink and washed off his plate, "Yeah we probably should, Ike gets scary when you keep him waiting too long, and from what he has said, the lines get insane at the bookstore if you don't go early."
"Then we better hurry up and get ready, Ike is already ahead of us." Pit said as he headed to the couch where the rest of his things were laid out.
Roy practically ran to his room and shut his door, moments later he emerged wearing basically the same thing except with bright red jeans along with his standard blue t-shirt. Ike appeared from his room shortly after Roy came out to the living room, Ike wore a dark blue t-shirt with standard blue jeans.
"Is everyone ready?" Ike asked while heading over the door to grab his keys.
"Yep, I'm ready," Pit said enthusiastically.
Roy jumped over the couch to follow Pit to the door where Ike stood, "I'm ready!"
"Roy, I would appreciate it if you didn't jump over the furniture," Ike opened the door and walked out, Pit closely behind him.
Roy followed Pit while whispering to himself, "Yes mother," Roy scoffed loudly and they all made it down to the parking lot and got into Ike's car and drove off.
Meanwhile several miles away in another apartment a young man named Marth wakes up to an unpleasant surprise. "Link, I'm gonna kill you for this!" Marth yelled as he peeled himself out of his pee stained bed and pulled his hand out of the bucket of warm water.
"You wish," Link yelled back through the door. Marth opened his bedroom door to see Link leaning up against the wall of the hallway staring at him. "So, pissed yourself I see, I didn't think you had a urine fetish Marth," Link said while chuckling.
Marth looked at Link, annoyed with his current antics, "You're hilarious Link, and no I don't have that type of fetish."
"I can't tell," Link stated, still chuckling at Marth's current situation.
"Shut up Link," Marth pushed past him and headed to the bathroom to clean up.
"Oooo touchy, I guess I'm making breakfast this morning huh?" Link said, trying to sound sympathetic.
"What do you think asshole?" Marth visibly getting angry, stopped and looked at Link, "why do you enjoy torturing me so?"
"I think I hit a sore spot nice, and to answer your question it's because you're too stiff and rigid in your ways, you need to lighten up." Link followed Marth to the bathroom door while being truly honest with his statement. Marth just glared at Link before slamming the bathroom door in Link's face.
"I'll take that as a thank you," with that Link walked off to the kitchen to make breakfast. An hour later Marth came into the kitchen and sat down at the dining table, "Jeez Marth, you're as bad as a woman when getting ready," Link laughed.
Marth gave Link a look, "Shut up Link, you've done enough this morning as it is."
"Oooo scary, ya know Marth, you're gonna get wrinkles before your time if you don't learn to chill out." Link smirked while putting some eggs and bacon onto two plates for the both of them.
"Oh like you, who seeks to cause harm to people with his practical jokes just for amusement?" Marth said while waiting for breakfast, though deep down hesitant about what Link had made.
"It's not like that Marth they're just jokes," Link said sincerely.
"So you say, anyway what experimental meal did you make this time?" Marth being extremely hungry this morning didn't particularly care what Link had done with breakfast, it was just a habit to ask whenever he cooked.
Link placed the plates on the table for both of them, "Just a standard breakfast, eggs and bacon."
Marth glared at Link, "That's not saying much."
Link put a hand over his heart in mock hurt, "I'm hurt Marth, you have no faith in my ability to cook."
Marth scoffed, "It's not that I don't have faith in your cooking, it's the aspect of what practical joke you attach to it that could be harmful to the consumer."
Link sat down, "Not this time, let's say I took pity on you."
Marth burst out laughing, "Riiight, you feel pity? That would be a first." Marth sighed, "Fine, I'll eat what you've made, but if I die I'm coming back to haunt you."
"We will see," Link said while smiling. They ate in relative silence after that and after breakfast they decided to get ready and go to the college bookstore, they still hadn't gotten their books for their upcoming semester.
"You ready Marth? I called Zelda, she's gonna meet us there." Link yelled from his room.
"Yeah, let's go before Zelda gets on us for being late." Marth replied as he opened the front door to wait for Link. Link gave a noticeable flinch at Marth's statement as if he was recalling a painful memory. He walked out of his room and met Marth at the door.
"Let's go," Link and Marth walked out of the apartment together and down to the car in the parking lot.
They both got into the car and as Link started the engine Marth noticed the time, "We're late Link," Marth said, genuine fear in his voice.
"Fuck, we're dead. Oh well can't be helped, though I doubt Zelda will be so understanding." Though he appeared to be calm, you could see in Link's eyes terror that only appears once in a lifetime. Link pulled out of the parking lot and drove off toward campus, both him and link praying Zelda would be merciful on them.
