I don't own R.K.

Kenshin walked to the kitchen. He found when he was angry that cooking helped him calm down. Most times anyway. The lord of the house tried not to kill in his house. This place was to be his getaway. He wouldn't stain it with blood in fury.

He'd been looking over plans of the area to best communicate with the counsel so he could discuss his lady's condition. She didn't want to be head of anything if Tomeo wanted to take over so bad she could and have no one to stand in her way.

This is when one of his servants came to him saying they saw his master leave the bathing house. Kaoru was still there and he was seeing red. After checking on his blue eyed love interest he head to the kitchen. While he normally would have fought the old man and kicked him out.

Something told him there was something he didn't know but should. If he was going to protect Kaoru he was going to need to know everything before setting up a meeting. The counsel didn't like changing rule so getting them to do otherwise would be difficult. While he could just meet with his old friends, using the word loosely, he knew she wouldn't back down.

~Kaoru

Dressing the new lady of the house asked one of the servants to show her around. The more she learned the more she could plan. Less time she spent with that damn red head the happier she would be. Okay so maybe not happy but less doe eyed.

Like everything she planed these days it blew up in her face. Once she rounded the corner she felt arms around her waists. With more speed than needs Kaoru turned revealing a blade at Kenshin neck his gold eyes blazing with anger.

Removing the blade from his neck Kaoru thought it best to talk than fight. This was his home and at the moment the snow was still too deep to travel in.

"Is there something wrong Kenshin?"

"Not at all my lady. Dinner will be ready soon I was just coming to check on you, you seem jumpy." He gave her a smile that told her he knew about her visitor.

The thought came to lie but at the moment he would see through her. "Look I didn't invite your master to watch me bath. Once I saw him I told him to leave."

It seemed her answer calmed him for a second at least.

"Did he say anything to you Koi?"

She shook her head no. "Just that your last….That the woman before me is the one trying to kill me."

His eyes turned cold and for a moment she feared for the old man. Then she thought of the look he gave her and thought better of it.

"Kenshin I…."

He swallowed her words igniting a fire deep within them both. Kenshin didn't need her to doubt his feels for her. Thanks to that damn roster he had to be careful from now on. He could already feel her pulling away.

Though he knew he couldn't kiss away all there trouble. He knew a dazed Koi was one not plotting. The sound of her moans assured him of that. When she racked her nails down his back he knew things had to stop here.

Not because he was afraid of being seen he could care less. Sadly the need to know what she didn't say about the old man was getting at him. His woman would not hold secrets from him. Especially when it was something that could get her killed.

"Koi care to tell me why you were on edge when I touched you earlier?"

"You have to be kidding me. Now seems like the right time to ask me this?" her face was flushed and her lips swollen. Kaour's mine ran wild with reason why he could have waited to ask his question.

"At the moment you're too dazed to lie so yes."

Anger filled her as she tried to push him away. She wouldn't be used not again not when she had already learned this lesson.

"Now now Koi, I only want to know what the old man did so I know how to handle him."

That was not the answer she waiting for. "What makes you think he did something?"

Kenshin locked eyes with his blue eyed woman, "Your guard is up it wasn't when I left you."

Though she tried it seemed her body wouldn't look away. The only thing that seemed to work was her mouth. "Kenshin he didn't do anything"

The look he gave her froze heaven, hell, and all in between.

"Why would I lie, he didn't do anything." His look told her to try again.

"Then what had you on edge love." He gave her a wolf grin before he started at her neck.

"The look he gave me." Kenshin stopped and waited for her to explain. She sighed then answered him. "He looked lost then stared at me….. Like you are now."

That was the worst thing she could have told him. His entire body went stiff with anger. With a low cold voice he told her to return to her room. Once dinner was done he would come get her. Normally she would argue but she knew he was strong enough to make her. At the moment she didn't want to be on his bad side.

The man slayer waited until he knew she was in her room. Looking to his left he ordered a maid to have a guard stay at her door. He didn't need a distraction or reminder at the moment. His conversation was going to be an ugly without anyone to instigate it.

Tomeo

She lay in a bed of silk with her husband by her side. They were closing in on the last heir of the family. Once she was dead they could take their place as head of the counsel.

Turning over to expose her backside to her love she jumped at the sight of red. Quickly she calmed down as to not startle him. Like always he saw and figured out why.

"He is gone now my love."

"I know it's just….I believe it will take time."

"You knew him for a while I don't expect you to forget everything."

There was hurt in his voice, hurt she never wanted to cause him. She only loved him, but she cared and respected the Battousai.

"My husband you know I love with all my heart. I never loved him. Only you….only you."

He looked into her eyes and saw her truth. Truly her love belonged to him alone. Reaching out he pulled her close to him. His desires awaken with her pressed against him. As he made plans to take her once again he wondered.

Was it for the best that she not know the Battousai was in deed alive? Would his lie take away the peace they found. Mess up everything they'd plan for the sake of revenge. He knew the other man had feeling for his wife and that made his stomach turn.

His thought on the matter shattered with fingers on his member. Releasing her he felt her mouth close around him and he stiffens a cry. His wife was very good at distracting him when he thought too much. But he couldn't help wondering at the back of him mind if she already knew that he was live.

Kenshin & Hiko

Sitting under a tree he felt his student approach him. Seemed that bird sung her song and had the boy upset with him. All he did was peek not like he did anything despite his own thoughts.

"What have you not told me?" His face held no expression still his eyes told it all.

The older man chuckled and took another swig of sake. "Walk away boy to day isn't the day."

"You came here interrupted us, spy on her when she'd bathing, stare at her like you long for you. What is your history with the head family?"

His last shot went down the wrong way."Ssssame as you lap dog."

With God like speed he moved his blade to the drunk's throat. Everyone seems to use him for one thing or another. If he thought he'd do the same the old man was mistaken. "Stay away from her." His voice was ice and as lethal as his blade.

"Will you finally kill me boy." His eyes flashed with fatigue. But not of fighting but of life that's when the answer hit him.

Kenshin smile then let out a laugh before turned away. "It seems allowing you to live is a far worse than killing you."

Hope you enjoyed it. Next chp has info about Kaour's mother. I hope it answers some questions as well. That's all for now!=)
